Rules and regulation follows by reporters, in our practicle class MIJM lecturers taking brief class about the reporters must be follow a rules in different types of field. Eg: noraml news field, protest field, War field.

a) normal news field
    the reportes or journalists can collect the news in free mind manner, most of the journalists are like these types of field without any tension. this type of field can suitable for special interview or news making.

b) protest field
    in these type of field reporter or journalists must be alert, journalists must be analized what types of protest this is, it will permission or non-permission protest? reporters must be verified. Eg:
   who can protest
   where you can protest
   how you can protest
   what you have to do before you gather
   what you have to do during your gathering
   what happens if you or anyone else breaks the law.

c) War zone field
         this type of field is totaly different from other types of fields, it is very dangerous many of the journalists are losts his/her life in that field. journalists must be known basic knowledge about weapons like what is AK47, bullets, rocket launcher etc.

journalists must be avoid these in Danger zone:

In every saturday MIJM taking practicle classess to the students in last saturday(4/12/2010) our students discuss and taking seminars about the current news, what are that two websites creating global masses.the two websites are wiki leaks and CBI websites.

In a major embarrassment, the website of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was hacked on Friday night by programmers identifying themselves as "Pakistani Cyber Army".The home page of the CBI website had a message from the 'Pakistani Cyber Army' warning the Indian Cyber Army not to attack their websites.The CBI website, supposed to be one of the most secure websites, is connected to the command centre of world police organisation - Interpol - 24x7. The message from the hackers also spoke about the filtering controls provided by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), a body which mans computer servers across the country. It also claims to have hacked another 270 websites.

Intelligence agencies have been often warning the government that proper cyber security was not being ensured in government offices and that no security audit was being carried out. The website has still not been restored. In a late night statement, the investigating agency said, "CBI is aware that its official website has been hacked and defaced. An inquiry has been launched and necessary remedial measures are underway to restore it."Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal has said that the cyber attack on the CBI website is serious issue and that he would look into it. "These are important issues, we will look into it," Sibal said

ETHICAL ISSUES IN INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING

What is Ethics?

 Ethics is a system of standards, principles, and values defining what is right in terms of professional conduct.

 As medical doctors have ethical standards and lawyers have theirs, so do journalists.

 In other words, ethics refers to the understanding among journalists about what is proper behavior.

 From the Greek word ethica (root word ethos), meaning ‘custom’ or ‘behavior’ or ‘character’

Why the need for ethical standards?

 Because unlike other professionals whose roles are more clearly defined, journalists have been left on their own to work out their roles and determine their ethics. (‘Doing Ethics in Journalism’, 1993)

Ethics = ideal behaviors: what we ought to do in order to be moral individuals and professionals

Law = minimal standards: the bottom line, below which we should not fall

Using anonymous sources

 Is the story important enough?

 Does the source know the information first hand?

 Is the information confirmed by a reliable second or third source?

 Can I explain in the story the reason for the anonymity?

 Would more reporting get the material on th record?

 If the anonymous source is used, will the story still be accurate, complete, fair and balanced?

 Does the source realize the consequences of revealing the information?

 Will the reporter take all the risks to protect the source’s identity?

 Can the story stand without this source?

Journalists who face ethical dilemmas are reminded to ask themselves …
