We heart, heart, heart us some Todd Oldham! How cute was he in NEW YORK MAGAZINE last week? He was promoting his new book, Kid Made Modern. We love hate his bushy beard but how it ages our Toddy! Beard or nor beard Todd Oldham will always be a sweet hunk of modern man. His boyish charm and gentle smile wins us over every time. He’s the Mr. Rogers crafting.

Totally original, totally simple, totally Todd Oldham. The book has projects inspired by mid-century designers and artists such as Charles and Ray Eames, Marimekko, Alexander Girard and Dorothy Draper.

Some really cute projects in the book. And they look fairly easy to make. The foam mobile caught our eye and the the spoon friends project is one we want to try to make with our niece!

$10,000 Tricycle Ain’t So Vanilla

Father Sascha White loves his child so much he decided to make a $10,000 trike for his little tot. Indulgent? Hell yea! But if your a modern parent unaffected by the economy and want to spoil your child, why not? The trike comes complete with a Brooks leather saddle, cro-moly frame, headset from Campagnolo, front hub and rear wheels from Phil Wood and front end forks fashioned from stainless steel.

Not sure you can get one before Christmas but maybe if you wrote Santa a really nice note you’d see one under the tree. Doubtful. You’d get a better shot of owning one by going to Vanilla Bicycles website.

No TV until 2-years-old? No problem. We’re watching music videos on Mummy’s MacBook. We love The Stand Ins project by Okkervil River, and have the A.C. Newman version of Lost Coastlines in heavy rotation. We sing along with Kings of Leon on the Today show. But more beloved than performance videos are animated Gummibär and Bébé Lilly. One, Hungarian-originated polka techno, the other French baby-singing dance jams, have cool kids worldwide begging for more.

Breaking: Adidas Sneaker Stays On, Is Adorable

Freddie loves the idea of shoes, but keeping them on? Not so much. At 15 months, we’ve finally found some she thinks worth wearing. The Adidas Infant/Toddler Street Run III CF are great for new walkers and accessory escaping toddlers. At 35.00 they weren’t cheap, but are sturdy and make an outfit. The Times Square Alliance, the Fashion Center BID, AREAWARE and the Port Authority of New York have joined forces to present ‘Design-to-Go,’ a pop-up shop at BLANK SL8 in the Port Authority. The just-launched store will be open through Sept. 26th and focuses on new takes on NYC souvenirs and travel products by New York’s most cutting edge designers. Hipster Baby Onsies Made with Vintage Ties

Organic plain white baby onesies with a vintage tie applique. Made by Pumpkin Girl, the ties are ‘upcycled’ and get a new life with the younger set. We found this little fella on Inhabitot.
