Kiss Me Spell

**This spell is a variation of one I found online several years ago. I do not know the origin of the original spell. If you do, please leave the link in the comments section. Thank you.

*I must remind you that love spells can be very powerful, as well as dangerous, so take caution when messing with someone's mind and emotions. A spell like this may turn out to have negative effects on the 'victim' or even yourself. It is also very possible that you do not truly want the outcome, and are being led by desire and overlooking all the negative details you'd rather not see or acknowledge. If you feel doubt of any kind, do not cast a love spell. It's better to be safe than sorry.

If it helps you to cast more effectively, burn a red candle.

Picture the person you wish to kiss you in your mind, and the act of him/her kissing you.

Say these or similar words:

Kiss me
Kiss me, [name]
Greet me with your lips and say you missed me
But most of all, kiss me.

I personally have had many successes with this spell, moreso when I repeat these words over and over in my mind upon seeing the person, after first casting the spell in private.

Again, please heed my warning about love spells; be careful what you wish for.

A Spell to Find a Job

* This is NOT a quickie.

Take one LARGE black candle, and write on it everything that opposes you in getting the job you desire (this could be fear, lack of experience, lack of contacts, whatever). Also take one piece of parchment paper and write the same things
on it.

Dress the black candle with Begone or some other banishing oil. Every night for nine nights, at 9 PM or midnight, burn the black candle while visualizing the obstacles disappearing. On the ninth night, burn the parchment also. (Try to burn the candle so there is only about one hour or less left to burn out on the last night.)

Then at 10 PM after the black candle has burned out, light a green glass candle that has been dressed with money drawing or success oil. (Prior to this you will have focused on everything you want this new job to be - hours, days, location, salary, benefits,, etc. - be very specific. Write these things on a second piece of parchment.) The green candle will be burned for four nights, visualizing everything you wrote. On the fourth night also burn the second piece of parchment.

On the fifth night burn a "thank you" candle - yellow, white, or orange, or the color that is significant to your favorite goddess.

Notes:

If you cannot do the spell at night, it can be done at 9 AM or noon.

Instead of one large candle you could also use nine individual black candles, and write something different on each one.

The best timing would be to begin on the waning moon, and finish on the waxing moon, but the spell can be used any time.

The spell begins as soon as you conceive of it. If you get what you want before the ritual is over, complete the entire ritual anyway, including thanking the gods.

You want part one (the banishment) to end on the Dark Moon (the night BEFORE the New Moon), and you want part two (getting the job) to start on the New Moon. The Dark Moon is used for banishment and getting rid of. The New Moon is for new beginnings. Hence the timing noted.

On disposing of the ashes, this is what I suggest for part one. When I write and do a banishing ritual, I scatter the ashes to the winds. This is symbolic of the (obstacle, whatever) being scattered, and therefore removed. So, once the parchment has burned completely and the ashes are cool, take them outside and toss them into the air, letting the winds scatter them. The next best thing is to dump them into running water (no, not down the sink or toilet, but in a creek or river). This would "wash" them away.

For part two of the spell, I'm going on instinct. Something is telling me that the ashes and candle stub should be put in a box and left in a safe place. As long as they remain undisturbed, the job is secure. I'm not going to claim that this is correct, so anyone who does this spell should take care of the ashes according to their preference, teachings, and/or instinct.

The Joys of Lucid Dreaming - Be Awake While You Sleep

If I ask you a simple question, will you be able to answer quickly and correctly? Yes? Ok let's try...

Don't take out your calculators! Here's the question: How many years does an average human spend sleeping? Don't read before answering...

What was your answer? 1 year? 2 years? 5 Years? WRONG! The correct answer is: 20 years! Unbelievable but true. You can do your math!

Assuming we will live for 80 years, that's around 1/4th of our lives being wasted!

Now what if there was a way that could help you utilize your sleeping hours? What if you were "not sleeping" while you were "sleeping"? Before you label me as a runaway lunatic, let me explain further...

Have you ever had a dream where you suddenly realized that you were dreaming? Maybe a monster was chasing you and you knew that this could not be real. It had to be a dream. Or maybe in your dream you saw that your room door was in the wrong direction, or maybe your walls had grass growing on them...these oddities often make us realize that we are dreaming. Do you remember any such dreams? I am sure you do!

At some point in our lives, we all have had moments when we have told ourselves "Ah! This is only a dream!" Those were the moments when we had experienced a Lucid Dream. Therefore, for people who love definitions, a Lucid Dream is a dream in which the dreamer is aware that he/she is dreaming, while retaining all the faculties of reasoning, memory and experience.

Generally Lucid Dreams occur without our control. In most cases it is only for a few seconds that we realize we are dreaming. We soon lapse back into our dream world and our lucidity is lost.

But the good news is that we can learn to become lucid in our dreams. We can also consciously control our dreams every night and train ourselves to remain 100% lucid throughout our dreams. Once we know how to do this, we can use our "sleeping" hours to remain "awake" and do all that our heart desires.

What all can we do while we are Lucid? Lucid dreaming is an ability that allows you to transcend the shackles of reality. Once you are aware you are dreaming you can alter your dreams and dictate what happens next. Therefore the possibilities are unlimited!

Flight and Travel :
Since there is no gravity in dreams, the amazing joy of flight awaits you. You can fly effortlessly through the sky like a bird. Or you can go for skiing and skydiving. You may also fly to the moon or any far away planet, or explore colorful dreamscapes.

You can go to a tropical paradise or visit the rain forests. Visit Disney world and take a ride on a roller coaster. And the best part is that everything is free and you do not have to wait in queues!

Meeting dream characters :
You can encounter dream characters and make friends with them. You can even summon geniuses and seek their sage-like advice. You can create a fantasy world and invite fully interactive characters, who can have fun with you as well as help you out with problems.

Personal Development :
Lucid Dreams allow you to get in touch with your inner self. You learn to depend more on yourself and less on external factors. This self-dependence boosts your confidence and increases your overall state of well-being. You attain self-knowledge and you know who you really are, which is not the same as who you think you are.

Talent and Rehearsal :
Lucid dreaming is an extraordinarily vivid and realistic form of mental imagery that can help in polishing your inherent skills. You can rehearse for success in waking life. You can improve your golf shots or become a better motorist. You can improve your artistic performance or become an expert at playing the guitar. If you want to become a confident public speaker, so be it! In fact you can become good at any talent you wish to develop.

Overcoming Nightmares :
Lucid Dreams can very well be one of the most effective therapies in curing nightmares because they can be an excellent place to confront your fears. If you know you are dreaming, you will also know that nothing, however unpleasant, can cause you any physical harm. It's all a dream. So there is no need to run from or fight with dream monsters. Instead you can face your fear and soon the fear will disappear.

Healing :
We all know that the effects of visual imagery on the body are therapeutic. Soothing dream imagery can alleviate pain and improve physical health. And since the dream world offers the most vivid forms of visual imagery, it can be an excellent place to heal ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually.

People who are physically handicapped can find themselves totally free from the fetters of their disability. A lame person can run, a blind can see, a dumb can talk, and a deaf can hear!

Problem solving :
If there are any problems bothering you, Lucid Dreams can be the ultimate realm to find their solutions. You can brainstorm and resolve any issue because you have greater access to your sub-conscious mind, which is far more infinite than your conscious mind. To make the problem-solving session more fun, you can create a boardroom and involve dream characters to give you solutions!

Sex :
One of the most pleasurable aspects of Lucid Dreaming is that you can indulge in sexual adventures. You will not be limited by any physical and moral restraints! You can summon anybody you fancy and have intimate moments together.

Conclusion
Lucid dreaming is something truly remarkable. But unfortunately, very few people have actually taken the trouble of training themselves in this art. Learning it is not difficult, but does require some consistency. Once you start having lucid dreams, you will thirst for more.

If everyone would just learn to take control of his dreams, this world would be extraordinarily enhanced. This is because the root cause of unhappiness on our planet is unfulfilled desires. These desires create a void in a person making him angry, remorseful, and even depressed. But during a lucid dream, he can have all his desires satiated, thus removing the void he harbors. If most of our desires are satisfied, wont our world be a better place? You bet, it will.

Lucid dreaming is an excellent tool at your disposal every night. Why not take advantage of it and start being "awake" while you "sleep"?

What Do Your Dreams Mean?

What do your dreams mean? This hasn't been clearly answered by science yet. It is possible that they are a way to exercise the brain and keep it functioning efficiently. Some scientists theorize that dreaming is a way to categorize and "file away" things that weren't sufficiently dealt with during the day. This would explain why daily events so often become a part of that nights dreams.

Dreaming seems to be necessary. In experiments, people have been prevented from dreaming by being woken up whenever they started, as evidenced by their REM or "rapid eye movement," which accompanies dreaming. This seems to cause mental distress, although this was often shown in nothing more than increased attempts to dream. Those woken an equal number of times, but randomly, didn't seem to suffer as much.

We may need to dream, but we don't know why, and we could argue endlessly about the meaning of the content of our dreams. However, despite this essential ignorance about what dreams mean, we do know that there are ways we can use our dreams. A couple examples follow.

Dreams Mean Entertainment

You may occasionally remember a dream you had that was better than most movies you've seen. Sometimes you may not even want to wake up from a dream, because it is so enjoyable. Perhaps you wish you could have more dreams like these.

You can, by waking up IN the dream, and taking control. Want to fly over that lake? Or join that party? You can direct your dream if you know that you are in a dream. That is the idea behind lucid dreaming.

Does it work? many swear that they regularly are conscious and in control during their dreams. I have had more than one dream where I argued with someone that we were in a dream (and of course proved it by waking up). Without getting into an argument about what consciousness is, it is still easy to see how much fun such "controlled dreams" might be.

One common way to induce lucid dreams is to have a "trigger" that reminds you that you are dreaming. This trigger can be any common object you're likely to see in a dream. If you choose a clock, for example, then whenever you see one, you say "I am dreaming right now and can do what I want." Once this is habit, you are likely to say it when you see a clock in a dream, thus "waking yourself up" to the fact that you're dreaming. Then you can take control and have some fun.

Dreams Mean A Chance To Solve Problems

I have had a number of good ideas come to me in dreams. In fact many of the pages on my web sites started out as dreams. To have creative ideas or solve problems in your dreams, try some of the following.

1. Do some mental work in the area you want ideas or a solution. Think about it, write some notes down, and consider some solutions. This work signals the brain that the topic or problem is important, so it will continue to work on it below consciousness.

2. Turn off the alarm clock. If you wake up naturally, you are more likely to remember your dreams.

3. Keep a recording device or a pen and paper next to your bed. Note any ideas you have if you wake up in the night, and especially when you first wake up in the morning.

4. Lay still when you first wake up, and review your dreams. This process "sets" them in your mind, so you won't forget them as easily. You can think back on them later, to search for any useful ideas.

These techniques are not yet scientifically "proven." However, having had lucid dreams, I can say that they are at least entertaining. Also, having used numerous techniques to get good ideas from dreams - and always with more success than when I do nothing - I am convinced that there is some value in this playing with our dreams, whether or not we ever completely understand what dreams mean.

Lucid Dreaming Tips - 3 Tips for Learning to Lucid Dream

Do you realize we spend about a third of our lives asleep? That is a large chunk of time that while absolutely vital to our wellbeing is not used to its fullest potential.

With the average life expectancy in he western world at about 75 years old that means we spend 25 years asleep! That is about 300 month or 1300 weeks or 9100 days or 218400 hours!

If we could spend even a small portion of that time doing something fun or productive how much more would we get out of our lives!

With Lucid dreaming you can be aware when you dream that you are not awake and can interact consciously with the dream world that your mind creates. While this talent is quite rare to simply know it can be learned!

Here are a few lucid dreaming basics you can use to get learning straight away!

1. Build your dream recall

People who have very good natural dream recall make very natural lucid dreamers as this is the first step to learning lucid dreaming.

Those who do not remember much of their dreams can train themselves to become better quote simply however it just takes some time.

To build your dream recall it is best to keep a dream diary. Whenever you wake from a dream immediately write down everything you can remember no matter how vague it is or how patchy your memory. By doing this you are training your mind to remember dreams and over time you will find you can remember more and more!

However DO NOT WAIT until morning to write these things down, do it straight away, as soon as you realize you are awake get your pen and jot it down or you will miss many details or the entire thing as dreams can be fleeting.

2. Reality testing

This is a technique that trains your mind to look for signs of dreaming. However you do it while you are awake as we have not started lucid dreaming yet!

*Reality test stage 1 - Carry a piece of paper with you with a few phrases on it or something similar. Throughout the day take this paper out and look at it, then look away and look back again. Did the text change? Try once more do the characters make sense or has anything changed. Obviously if it has you know you are dreaming! This teaches the mind a pattern if you do it often enough that can repeat in dreams and clue yourself into the dream.

*Reality test stage 2 - Imagine very hard while awake that you are dreaming and that all that surrounds you is a dream, changeable and fleeting. Then imagine what fantasy you would do the next time you are dreaming, flying, meeting famous people or whatever you want! Again this activity encourages your mind to understand dreams and behave in ways and patterns that may reoccur in dreams and lead to a lucid experience.

3. Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams - M.I.L.D.

This is well tested technique that gets you to remember in the future, in particular of course remembering that you will be lucid in your next dream.

MILD is best tried just after you have a dream. When you wake write down the dream then get yourself comfortable again. As you try to get back to sleep repeat to yourself "I will remember I am in a dream next time I dream!” Repeat this line over and over and over to yourself and as you do imagine what you were doing last time you were dreaming and focus on that. If you can finds a dream sign (a signal that obviously means your dreaming, something out of the ordinary) then you may have lapsed back into sleep and started dreaming again. If you can hold onto that and stay dreaming while being conscious of it then congratulations you are in a lucid dream! If not just keep trying and you will fall to sleep and you can try again later.

All these tips are designed to train your mind into a better awareness of dreaming and lucidity and allow cues for it to realize when it is dreaming. They may not happen soon but the more you do these things the better you will become and soon you will be able to use some of that sleeping time to much better effect!

Dream Interpretation the Old Fashioned Way

I remember sitting on my grandma’s big fluffy bed, watching her write in a faded, worn out notebook; squenched, tiny faded lips and her eyes shut tight, remembering a dream she had dreamed the night before.

“What are you doing, Grandma?”

“Quiet child! I’m going back to the dream world for just a few minutes. Interpreting my dream, see?”

Sitting as quietly as any kid could, breathlessly anticipating the moment she would open her eyes and smile heavenward, “Ahhh. I understand. Thank you.” A few moments more of furtive scribbling and then we would begin our day together.

At the time, the little ritual felt sacred. I could not ask her about her private dreams, or how she knew how to interpret them, but my curiosity for such matter was overwhelming at times. As the years passed and I grew a little older, I also became bolder if not wiser.

“Grandma, I had a dream last night,” I tossed out, ever so matter-of-factly one day. The lift in her little wrinkled eyes told me even then that she was on to me, but she indulged my cleverness.

“You did? Tell me all about it. I interpret dreams, you know,” she smiled, knowing full well I already knew this. I would tell her my dream with all the drama and gusto I could muster, and she quickly broke it down.

“It doesn’t matter who you dream about,” she began. “You are always everyone in your dream. Whatever you think of whatever person you see or meet in your dream, are facets of you.”

On average, Grandma used to have four or five dreams every night that she could remember. She called some of them “brain flatulence”, some she called “premonition dreams,” but her favorites were called the “knowing yourself dreams.”

“Usually my dreams are ‘knowing yourself dreams’,” she recalled.

Grandma never let me in on her secret of interpreting dreams until the time I bought her a book I believed that she would enjoy. I don’t know what I was thinking.

Grandma cooed over the purple tulip wrapping paper containing the dream interpretation book, and I felt rather pleased with myself that I had chosen a gift for Grandma that no one else had; of course, I did have a reason for choosing the gift. It was all in my plan, see?

When Grandma tore away the last remnants of the wrapping, her small blue eyes, not entirely unexpectedly, transformed instantly into large black saucers.

“What is this?” she demanded.

When the title of the book registered, her eyes narrowed and her gaze resembled bullets aimed at, well… you can imagine. The room seemed to shrink as Grandma stared at me in icy silence.

“I thought you would like it, Grandma. I thought you would like to read what other people thought about dream interpretation,” I innocently manipulated.

“Why would I want to do that, dear? I know what I’m doing and I learned from a master: my own grandma.” She handed the book to me, indignant. “Bethie, I don’t need this.” Then, her tone softening suddenly, I knew my plan had worked. “It’s about time that I taught you how to interpret dreams like my grandma did for me.”

I discarded the ‘offending’ book and eagerly pulled up a chair.

Grandma called her methods the old fashioned way.

“Sometimes the old way is the best way,” she said. “When you dream about an animal, for instance, think about what that animal means to you. If you dream of a snake and you are afraid of snakes, then you are afraid of something. If you dream about a snake and the snake appears knowledgeable to you, then you are receiving knowledge of some sort. You see?”

Grandma taught me that there are some universal signs in dreams as well, signs that will have the same meaning for many people. “Water,” she said, “is usually your feelings. If you are drowning in a dream, it usually means that you’re overwhelmed.”

“You really have to completely take a dream apart and put each piece in its own category in a notebook.

“First write out your dream, just as you saw it. And if you can, draw an illustration of the dream as well. Once you have it on paper, start with the obvious parts that you already know has a meaning for you.”

Grandma’s example: Let’s say you dream about climbing a tree and there is a cat up in the tree. The cat meows at you and you think it wants down. The tree and cat are on a college university. The cat scratches you and you wake up.

According to Grandma, look first at what you know is currently happening in your life. Is there anything bothering you at work, or are there some questions and have you been wondering what the answers could be? What does the tree or a cat mean to you?

In Grandma’s old world dream interpretation, a tree to me means growth and a cat means secret knowledge. A college would be a place of learning to me. A cat scratching me, even though it seems like a bad thing, really isn’t. The cat (secret knowledge) made contact with me; I am growing from this (tree) and I am learning.

If you want to know more about yourself, interpreting one’s dreams is a good springboard. You’ll soon get the hang of it and you’ll find yourself excited to wake up in the morning, anticipating ― like Grandma did ― writing down your dreams. There are answers in dream interpretation that are only for you.

Grandma showed me that I can learn many things about myself through my dreams. She also taught me that dreams are personal, and are meant only for ourselves. There is the occasional premonition dream in which everything is crystal clear, and can even feel like it is happening in the real world. Dream interpretation is different for everyone, but my family relies on Grandma’s techniques.

One quiet afternoon, years after Grandma had passed on, I stumbled upon the dream interpretation book I had gotten her as part of my ‘plan’. I happened to notice that it looked quite worn, and when I opened it to the first page, she had scrawled some notes about how it would be better to interpret it her way.

She had written comments throughout the entire book, practically on every page, but despite this, it was clear that she had made a kind of peace with the book. It was on the last page she had written: “Dreaming is like art interpretation. One man sees a beautiful countryside in the artwork, while another sees a desolate field; but both of them have the right to their own opinion. Whatever works best for both interpreters is fine with me, but do listen to your Grandma, Bethie.” Spoken in true Grandma Fashion, I smiled, closing the book. As the covers met, I caught a whiff of her perfume as it mixed with the dust particles floating, dreamlike, past the sinking afternoon sun.

The Best Lucid Dreaming Techniques

Lucid dreaming is something that many people wish they could do. Often when they realize they are lucid dreaming they get so excited that they wake themselves up! Lucid dreaming, for those who don't yet know, is sort of like conscious dreaming. At some point during the dream you realize that you are dreaming. That is a lucid dream. Some people find that when they are lucid dreaming they can actually control what is happening during their dreams. So how do you induce a lucid dream? Here is a tutorial on step by step lucid dreaming.

The first step in step by step lucid dreaming is learning what time is the best time to have a lucid dream. Pay attention to your personal sleep schedule and how long it takes you to have a dream in the first place (this can be accomplished by noting the time when you wake up from a dream and comparing it to the time you fell asleep). Typically lucid dreams happen during REM sleep which is the sleep cycle you go through right before waking up. The easiest way to achieve a REM cycle is to wake up earlier than you normally would, stay awake for an hour to an hour and a half and then go back to sleep. Your brain should drop right into the REM cycle and you can have your lucid dream.

The second step in step by step lucid dreaming is deciding to have a lucid dream. This is often called the MILD technique (Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dreaming). While you are falling asleep make the decision to remember your dream and then concentrate only on that idea. Repeat to yourself "I will remember my next dream." This will tell your brain to pay attention to the next dream you have and chances are high that when the dream starts you will know that you are dreaming, which is what a lucid dream is.

The third step in our step by step lucid dreaming tutorial is to remember your dreams. Keep a dream journal and write down every detail that you remember from your dreams. By making yourself remember details from all of your dreams, you are telling your brain that your dreams are just as important to you as your waking life and it will start to stay more alert while you are dreaming. Keeping a record of all of your dreams can alert you to patterns in your dreaming and help you with the fourth and final step in our step by step lucid dreaming tutorial.

Perform regular reality checks. Intermittently throughout your day start asking yourself if you are awake or dreaming. Look around, take stock of your situation and consciously decide if you are awake or dreaming. Make sure to do this when you encounter any people, places or situations that are regular players in your dreams. Your brain will start to do this on its own and before you know it; your brain will tell you when you are dreaming!

Helpful Techniques for Inducing Lucid Dreams

Most lucid dreams occur between 5AM and 8 AM, times that are most likely to be longer REM periods. LaBerge’s work at Stanford confirmed this occurrence. The first step is to develop good dream recall. If one cannot remember dreams at all or has difficulty remembering dreams, then lucid dreaming is nearly impossible. Awareness must be developed in the area of dreaming. First of all plenty of sleep is necessary, and the longer one sleeps, the more dreams are possible. As the night progresses, dream periods get longer and closer together until near wake up time, the dreams are forty-five to sixty minutes long and only a half hour apart. The first dream of the night is the shortest, perhaps only five to ten minutes in length.

Dream recall happens when the dreamer awakens directly from the dream, which happens after almost every dream a person has. We fall back to sleep and forget the dream because we are in the habit of it. One way around this would be to set an alarm clock to wake you up at a time when you are likely to be dreaming. You could set your alarm for ninety minutes after bedtime, or other various intervals of ninety minutes from bedtime. If you are aiming for a period of time that would be richer with dream time, try setting the alarm(s) for six or seven hours after you go to sleep. Dreams are thickest and most likely during the late morning hours of sleep, right after or before dawn, depending on when you like to wake up. The probability of a lucid dream during this time is also double than in the earlier part of the sleep period.

Remind yourself of your intention to remember your dreams before you go to bed. Motivation is a big factor in the success or failure of dream recall. It will help to keep records of the dreams you recall, for this will inspire more dreams to be remembered.

As soon as you awaken in the morning ask yourself immediately what you were dreaming, for you were just dreaming before you woke up, if you woke up naturally. If you cannot remember to ask yourself this, try putting a note next to your bed reminding yourself to ask this question. Don’t move when you wake up. Stay still. Don’t think about anything either. If you can’t remember what you were dreaming, ask yourself what feelings or thoughts are present. This will give you clues to what you were just experiencing and might jog your memory. This may bring back the entire dream. At first, only fragments of the dream will be remembered by the person who does not have good dream recall, but with practice, more will be revealed without as much effort.

Many techniques are available to train oneself to dream lucidly. One common technique taught by many, including the Don Juan character in Carlos Castenada’s books, is to look for the hands in the dream. Once the hands are seen, one can realize one is dreaming because the signal was recognized, and then one is lucid in the dream. If the hands begin to change, one must look away or lucidity might be lost.

A very potent technique for inducing lucid dreams is to train the waking life consciousness to always be asking itself if it is dreaming. Every 90 minutes, one could ask oneself if he or she is awake or dreaming, and always answer, “Yes, I am dreaming. This is a “conditioned response” that will show up in the dream world.

Bizarre occurrences are dreamsigns, triggers which become doors to lucidity. A single out of place object, character or circumstance can be a dreamsign. These are clues to show you that you are dreaming. For instance, a streetlight is flashing blue, rather than the familiar red, green or yellow. This would be a dreamsign for the dreamer, and the dreamer could then realize that this is a dream, rather than physical reality. Then lucidity is achieved. If a tree in a familiar courtyard were pink instead of green, this could be a dreamsign. If your boss comes into work wearing a tutu, when this is completely out of character for that person, this can also be a sign that the dreamer is dreaming. Almost every dream has dreamsigns, some defiance of physical laws, social laws, or out-of-the-ordinary interactions of objects, people and things. By training yourself to recognize dreamsigns, you can wake up in any dream you like. Train the waking consciousness to look for out-of-place objects, situations or people in waking life. Noticing that one’s boss is wearing an orange hat with a feather in it when it is completely out of character for him or her, this could be considered a dreamsign. A dreamsign is something that is unordinary, like purple kittens, and this would be a signal to the dreamer that he or she is dreaming. Impossible situations and objects are possible only in a dream.

Another discipline is looking for dreamsigns during waking hours and then this mental attention will be carried into the dream world. Simply recognize the out of the ordinary experiences all around every day, confirm that it is a dream, and as the dreamworld presents unusual events, the mind will respond similarly in the dream state as it did in the waking state by confirming that it is a dream.

An ancient Tibetan Buddhist technique is to maintain wakeful consciousness as one drifts off to sleep. Stephen LaBerge and Howard Rheingold say in their book Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming (1990), that Rinpoche, a Tibetan teacher who was visiting America, taught people to “think of all our experiences as dreams and to try to maintain unbroken continuity of consciousness between the two states of sleep and waking.” One could most easily do this when going back to sleep after just having awakened from a dream. It is more difficult if the first REM state hasn’t been reached yet.

Another is called “Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams,” or MILD, the phrase coined by Stephen LaBerge. Mnemonic means “something that aids the memory.” It is difficult for most of us to even remember that we are trying to awaken in a dream, let alone do so. Stephen LaBerge’s MILD technique can assist with this. This is a close cousin to the technique of looking for dreamsigns, but differs because you are the one who picks something to look for, rather than just waiting for something out of the ordinary to happen. For instance, one could program oneself to wake up in a dream every time he or she opens a door. This is done by remembering in waking life to check whether or not one is dreaming every time a door is opened in waking life. Then, in the dreaming life, this will automatically happen again, the question will be posed and the dreamer will then awaken in the dream.

A second version of this method, MILD, is to recall the dream just awakened from. While returning to sleep, imagine returning to that dream and waking up inside it. Before falling back to sleep, pick something you want to do as soon as you see yourself awakening in the dream, like flying or something like that. Often, the dream one was having is returned to and one and might remember that one had seen oneself waking up in this particular dream.

Another method for inducing lucid dreams is called “sleep redistribution.” A normal eight hour period of sleep might be between midnight and 8 AM. With this method, the eight hour sleep period is cut short by sleeping only until 6 AM. One goes about his or her business for two hours and then goes back to bed from 8 AM to 10 AM. During these two hours, one will have more dreams than was possible from 6 AM to 8 AM in normal sleep. It is a fact that within only a few moments of falling back to sleep, especially during the morning period, REM can be re-entered quite quickly.

Stephen LaBerge’s invention, the Nova Dreamer, also called Dream Light, is a wonderful device that delivers a trigger while the dreamer is dreaming. Other methods mentioned above deal with bringing a trained waking awareness into the world of dreams, but this method sends a direct cue into the dream as it is actually happening. This device, as mentioned before, flashes light into the dreamer’s closed eyes whenever it detects REM. The dreamer will then see flashing lights in the dream and may use the trigger to wake up in the dream. It is most effective if the waking mind is trained to look for light sources in the dream. I have personally found this device quite effective.

Wake Initiated Lucid Dreams, or WILDs, are lucid dreams based on the idea that one can fall asleep consciously. This means that the body falls asleep while retaining full wakefulness and enters the dream state with consciousness intact. Full lucidity would be present immediately with the beginning of the dream. This is probably the most difficult technique of all, but it has been reported that it works, especially from the Tibetan Monks. A WILD is most likely when one awakens during the night and then goes back to sleep. It is not as effective in the beginning of the night for the deep delta sleep must be attained first before much else can happen. The ability to stay awake is quite a skill indeed, and might only be possible for meditators who have gained much mastery in not slipping over the sleep/awake border so easily into sleep. It takes great training to straddle this border without losing the wakefulness of waking life consciousness.

Dreams have the tremendous power to transform our lives in so many ways. Taking the time to explore and understand our dreams can help us improve relationships, solve difficult problems, diagnose illnesses, inspire creativity, fresh ideas and new inventions, and teach leadership and right conduct. Sometimes, even a single dream can help shape our life purpose.

On February 3, 2005, I had what world renowned psychologist Dr. Carl Jung called a 'BIG DREAM'. It was a powerfully vivid, life-defining dream which crystallized my purpose and calling in life. It's a sacred dream which I still refer to often and which has led me on a Dream Quest to explore and understand the magic of dreams.

To help me on this quest, I recently took an intensive sixteen-hour Dreamwork Workshop at the home of Dr. Marina Quattrocchi who completed her doctoral thesis on dreams based on her over seven year's of dreamwork practice with high-school students.

I'd like to share with you some key learning points on dreamwork that I took away from this course as well as some fresh insights I've picked-up along the way based on my own independent dream research:

We spend up to 7 years of our lives dreaming

We all average about five to seven dreams a night (even if we don't remember them) and will spend approximately five to seven full years of our lifetime dreaming.

Dreams are the language of the soul

Dreams are the language of the soul. They are spirit informing mind with the purpose of bringing wholeness and healing in our lives. Dreams serve two main functions: 1). To help us work through our issues or karma, and 2). To help us fulfill our destiny, purpose, or dharma. Most dreams will fall under these two broad pillars.

Everyone can understand their dreams

We all have the potential to self-interpret or at least understand our dreams to help enrich our lives.

Dreams come in many shapes and sizes

Precognitive or predictive dreams help us prepare for a future event that comes to pass. Clairvoyant or clear seeing dreams can often help us better perceive what's happening in the present. And retro-cognitive dreams can help uncover something hidden in the past. Past, present, and future are one fluid continuum that dreams draw from.

There are visitation dreams where angels, mentors, and loved ones visit us to provide guidance. Lucid dreams occur when we become aware that we are dreaming - allowing us some conscious influence on the outcome of the dream. Telepathic dreams involve mind-to-mind communication with other people.

We often will dream experiential testing dreams (especially during a transition) where our soul is trying out different scenarios to help us make better choices or help prepare us for an arduous undertaking.

For example, a high school student transitioning over to college might have recurring dreams about participating in various on campus activities to better prepare him for the actual event. Or a recently laid off person who's thinking of jumping into a business full-time might have a dream where she's running her business but is wearing disheveled clothing, feeling exhausted, and swimming in a sea of paperwork. This dream could be warning the dreamer to transition over part-time or choose another business deal.

Dreams can have many layers of meaning

More complex dreams with several scenes will often involve multiple layers of meaning. Some dreams will require a long period of incubation involving several months or years because they are working on complex problems.

Some of these complex dreams might not make any sense at the moment of interpretation but will make sense after an appropriate gestation period has elapsed. It is well worth the effort to journal your dreams in as much detail as you can and make a conscious effort to explore all aspects and meanings of your dreams. Some dreams, like a good book, will bring new flashes of insight and meaning with each reading.

Dream Recall Tips

* Start with the belief that you can and will remember your dreams.
* Place a pad, pencil and pen by your bedside. (Pencil tips can break while pens can run out of ink).
* Try a light pen so you can write your dreams in the dark without having to switch on a lamp.
* You may wish to have a tape-recorder to speak your dream upon waking.
* Reading a good book on dreams 20 minutes before going to bed can help stimulate dream recall.
* Repeat a dream recall affirmation often such as: "I am easily remembering and recording my dreams."
* Write down your dream as soon as you awake. 80 percent of a dream can be lost in as little as 10 minutes.
* Visualize yourself immediately writing down your dream on waking.
* Be as still as possible. Shifting positions in bed is known to reduce dream recall.
* Tell a partner or trusted friend in advance that you will share your dream with them tomorrow.
* Meditating and praying for guidance will put you in the alpha dream state and help increase recall.
* Get a good night's sleep. Dreams get progressively longer peaking in the 6th, 7th, and 8th hours of sleep.
* You will establish the habit of remembering your dreams by journaling them for the next 30 days.

Dream Interpretation Tips

* Start with a sincere intent to learn from your dreams to better yourself and live purposefully.
* What emotional feeling are you left with? Feelings are more accurate and truthful than words in dreams.
* You are made up of 80 percent water. The state of water in your dreams often reflects your emotional state.
* Write a simple story line. Summarize your dream in one sentence and express the main theme.
* Ask: "Why did my soul have this experience? What do I need to understand? What issues need working?"
* Be aware of the events occurring in your life at the time of your dream; especially the day before.
* Remember that dream symbols often have dual opposite meanings. Good dream dictionaries will have both.
* There are three main types of symbols: archetypal symbols, cultural symbols, and personal symbols.
* Review all your dreams at least once a year. You will notice common themes and motifs to help guide you.
* Act on your dreams: call or visit someone, pick up a book, watch a movie, wear clothing from your dreams.
* Dream application leads to dream interpretation. By applying your dreams the full meaning reveals itself.

There is no question that The Law of Attraction really does exist. This powerful law is one of the fundamentals of the Universe and was set in motion at the very dawn of creation.

This law is constantly at work. It never ceases. The law responds to your thoughts, feelings and actions. However, in that is not say that you are always consciously using this law to your advantage. If you wish to properly use this great law, in a conscious deliberate way, to create the life you desire then you must gain an understanding of the role it plays in the creation process and the actions you need to take to activate it!

This Universe is a mass of vibrating energy. Things that we see, touch, smell and hear are merely our senses registering and translating vibrational frequencies all around us into something we can understand. There really is only one mass in the universe and it is pure energy. Science, religion and metaphysics are all agreed on this universal truth!

The One mass of vibrational energy is divided into smaller masses or pockets of energy known in quantum physics as "quanta of energy". You can liken it to a drop of water in the ocean. Each drop appears separate when studied closely but when all the drops are viewed together they form one ocean.

These small pockets of energy are attracted to each other by virtue of their vibrational frequency. So like energies attract each other. In addition, a quanta's energy frequency can also affect another quanta's energy frequency and alter it. A perfect example of this can be easily seen using piano tuning forks. If a fork, which resonates at High C, is struck in close proximity to a second fork that is also tuned to C, the second fork will also vibrate.

As our Universe shows us that pockets of energy with vibrational frequencies are attracted to each other and can also affect each other you should be careful of the company you keep. The Law of Attraction is constantly in action. It is drawing to you people, situations, life-experiences and physical objects that are in exact alignment with your vibrational frequency. The law does all the hard work. We do not need to know the intricate details of how these things are attracted to us or through which medium they will come.

The Law of Attraction ensures that pockets of energy with similar frequencies are attracted to each other. Therefore, in order to attract something tangible, like a car, new job, better relationship etc., the only thing you are required to do is to make sure your vibration matches, or is in harmony with, the vibrational frequency of that which you desire.

Your job in this creative process then is simple. In order to become aligned with your desire you must simply remain focused on your goals and stay positive about their acquisition.

In order to be fully aligned with your desire and be a vibrational match to it, it is important to think of yourself as already in possession of it. This is easier said than done I know but it is of paramount importance that you develop this skill if you wish to consciously activate the Law of Attraction to create the life you want. If you think of having your desire at some point in the future you are not a vibrational match to it. You are constantly keeping it in the future. The subconscious mind is literal. It cannot discriminate. You conscious thinking mind, the person you believe to be you, is in full control. You are in charge. Whatever you hold in mind on a consistent basis is the reality your subconscious mind will strive to create by making your whole being a vibrational match to your inner vision!

There is a famous question that most great self-achievers have asked themselves at some point in their lives. This is a question that you must also ask of yourself. Then you must answer it truthfully. It will spark your imagination and help you to formulate a vision of your future life. Ask yourself now, "What would I do if I knew I couldn't fail?"

Answer that question now. Once you have the answer you will know what it is you truly want from life. Then begin to focus on that vision until you become a vibrational match to it and the Law of Attraction will do the rest!
