Last week I did a shoot with La Di Da Lashes by Cara. She is a perfectionist, which works to her advantage with something so particular as individual lashes. When she's working on mine, I don't know how many times I hear "Ok, you're almost done, just have to make sure this one here is perfect". If you've never had individual lashes, you must try! Nadia: Cara, what is it about individual lashes that everyone loves?

Cara: My clients love that they are weightless, No mascara required, less time consuming, the perfect curl, fullness and are thicker then your own natural lash. Also, 48hrs after the application, your lashes are resistant to water, heat, pool chlorine, and perspiration.

Nadia: Do you think some people may have fears about the lashes?

Cara:Individual lashes are the best out there! I use medical grade glue specifically made for eyelash extensions. They are 100% safe!

Nadia: Are some people's fears, also myths about individual lashes?

Cara:Peoples fears that I hear most commonly are, " Will my natural lashes fall out" ? With the individual synthetic lashes that I only use, your lashes will naturally shed with your synthetic lashes at the two week mark of the shedding phase and new lashes grow in. Your real lashes will not fall out permanentally from these lashes.

ALWAYS do your research and make sure that your lash tech is certified to get the proper application.

Nadia: What other services do you offer?

Cara:I also offer eyelash and eyebrow tinting and waxing (not all areas).

Nadia: What is the best way for clients to contact you for an appointment?

Nadia: What does your fiance and son think about the lashes?

Cara:My Fiance is constantly supporting me with what I do! He loves that I am doing what I love and what makes me happy. My four year old son totally understands what I do and often mimics me doing lashes! Might consider him my assistant in the near future. haha

Poodles Birthday Party

This past weekend we went to a Poodles Birthday Party. Here are some photos from the party. Sinatra (my poodle) had a blast. We all went for a hike, and can say this was the first time I hiked in a dressy jacket along with my purse.. (I was not prepared) Good thing my friend had some rubber boots for me at least! Was a lot of fun!

This guy is my little man. Love him. Say Hi To Sinatra - 9 months old standard poodle. His friends name is Raga, it was her party. :)

Yummy Mini-Vegetarian Pizza's

Ingredients

Zucchini slices

Mozzarella cheese

Mushrooms

Salt and Pepper

Soy Pepperoni pieces

Mini pizza bread 

Throw on the slices of mozzarella as much or little as you like onto the already cooked pizza bread. In a pan cook up 2 cups of mushrooms with little bit of soy sauce and salt and pepper. Put those on top of the cheese on the pizza. Slice up your zucchini and put that on top, add some shredded cheese, and then the soy pepperoni pieces. Put in the oven at 450 for 15 - 18 minutes depending how crispy you like it.

Brazilian Ball Carnival

Sweet Potato, Carrot, and Cauliflower Casserole

Ingredients

1 Jumbo Sweet Potato, cubes

Cauliflower, cut into small florets

2 long carrots, chopped

4 cloves of garlic, chopped

2 tbsp Sage, finely chopped

2 tbsp Rosemary, finally chopped

2 tbsp Oregano, finally chopped

3 tbsp butter

1/4 cup of flour

2 cups of milk

Havarti Jalapeno cheese slices

Yves Veggie Chicken slices

Brown rice (use package directions to cook)

This is so delish! You've got to try it! It's pretty easy to make, hardest part was chopping all the items. So first peel the sweet potato and cut into cubes. Then cut cauliflower into small florets. Spread them out in a in a casserole dish. Put 4 or so table spoon clumps of butter equally in the casserole. Add the vegetarian chicken slices.

Finely chop 4 cloves of garlic, a handful of sage, a sprig of rosemary, and oregano. Add them into a saucepan with 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Add a little bit of salt, mix in ¼ a cup of flour and keep cooking it for about 5 minutes stirring continually! Add the milk in very slowly though! In that 5 minutes keep adding a little bit at a time to make a good smooth sauce. :) Then pour the sauce over the vegetables.

Spread the sauce if needed so its spread evenly. Put the Havarti Jalapeno cheese slices on top, then spread feta cheese, and then a little bit of shredded mozzarella.

Put in the over at 400F for 30 minutes until vegetables are soft and the cheese is golden brown. Add on top of a bead of rice. :)

This dish has A LOT of flavour! Give it a try! It's so delish!

Pan Fried Fish (Trout), Mini Potatoes, and Asparagus

Ingredients

4 slice of fish (I used trout that I got at the local farmers market)

Bundle of asparagus, whole

3 cups of mini potatoes

2 eggs

2 table spoons of flour

2 table spoons of butter

salt and pepper

In a pan with 1 tbsp of butter fry the asparagus, add a little bit of salt. Mini potatoes boil for 20 minutes or until its soft inside.

In one bowl have your flour and other your mixed eggs with salt. Salt both sides of the fish (mine still had the skin on it), then dip into the flour and cover generously, and then dip it into the egg mixture, then put onto a hot pan. Cook for about 2 - 3 minutes on medium - high heat, flip to other side and cook another 1 minute. Continue to do that for the remaining pieces. Very easy! :)

We squeezed on some lemon juice on top, you don't GOTTA do that if you dun want to. I said that in my mind exactly as it's spelled. Note: Trout has a strong fish taste, if you do not like that try this with a Tilapia or Haddock. More about different types of fish.

Wedding Planning..Starting...Insert HUGE smile here

Since we got engaged I search sites and find awesome things and been saving WEDDING photos that catch my eye. The file folder named \W seemed to have a certain theme in the saved photos... don't you agree??? I think all the collected photos have a certain feel to them??!? Do you agree???

We're getting married July 21, 2012. Just starting to do some planning and thinking about what we'd like etc. One things decided -- wedding colour are -- White, Purple, & Grey.

a. Do you have any tips & tricks to share?

b. Did you have a crazy / awesome experience with something and had a lesson learned that you think I should know?!

Obviously, this is our day, and we will do as we see fit for US. But it's still nice to hear opinions and suggestions and ideas and advice and and and etc!!! I wish this was happening like tomorrow. I cant wait! Yippee!

Spinach Brunch Pizza (1/2 with bacon)

This photo is a little different from what I usually photograph & post, but it did intrigued me. This is my fiances last minute Halloween mask that lingers in the closet. He had pulled it out one day, and left it hanging on a painting I am making. The eye of the clowns mask just happened to be slightly over the black hear of the painting.

I thought it was horrifically beautiful.

(I find clowns extremely creepy).

Anyways. Happy Monday.
