In occasione del Festival Architettura in Città 2013,

phlibero in collaborazione con CoMET (Collettivo Musica Elettroacustica Torino) presenta presso le OGR, Torino, “Esplorando la città che cambia” dal 28 maggio al 1° giugno 2013 - inaugurazione lunedì 27 maggio alle ore 18 -

“installazione interattiva di suoni e immagini che propone un’esplorazione non didascalica del paesaggio urbano in trasformazione”

Il paesaggio urbano e peri-urbano, luogo di incontro tra progetto umano e ambiente, processo di semiosi aperto e mai concluso, è interpretato come opera d’arte “immersiva” e “multimodale” che coinvolge la vista e l’udito.
A partire dalle stampe fotografiche esposte, il visitatore/cittadino contribuisce con i suoi movimenti a costruire e ri-costruire il paesaggio in cui è immerso. Egli è invitato a interrogarsi sulla sempre attuale dicotomia tra “città per i cittadini” e “città per la rendita”, sul rapporto tra identità e immagine e sulla qualità dei cambiamenti già avvenuti o in atto sulle aree delle Spine torinesi.
Il ruolo attivo che il cittadino assume nei confronti del paesaggio urbano è inverato dalla componente musicale realizzata da CoMET (Collettivo di Musica Elettronica di Torino) con la sponsorizzazione di SIRO Elettronica.

Phlibero, associazione di promozione sociale, si occupa di fotografia e crede nel potere delle immagini: il potere di comunicare rapidamente e facilmente, per trasmettere le sfumature o suscitare le emozioni più forti.

I corsi e workshop (di fotografia, fotoritocco con Photoshop, ripresa e montaggio video) gli eventi e le mostre di Phlibero educano alla fotografia come strumento conoscitivo per il fruitore e come mezzo d’indagine interiore e d’espressione personale per l’ideatore.

CoMET, Collettivo di Musica Elettroacustica di Torino, nasce dall’incontro al Conservatorio di Torino, di sei musicisti, dotati di storie e carriere tra loro diverse: Giacomo Albert, Carlo Barbagallo, Francesco Bianchi, Amedeo Casella, Antonella Labozzetta e Alessandro Merlo. Constatato l’interesse comune verso la sperimentazione, l’improvvisazione e le nuove tecnologie è nato questo collettivo a struttura aperta. L’obiettivo è sperimentare in ambito sonoro tecnologie analogiche e digitali per cercare nuovi spazi di espressione comune in campi sempre diversi, dalle performance ai concerti, dalla net-art alle installazioni sonore.

Audioscreen MACBA brings together three projects presenting new relations between image and sound. In the current technological and cultural context, they recover the experimental tradition around multisensory creation. On this occasion the programme transcends the two-dimensionality of the screen and reproduces the spatial and audiovisual codification of the disco, a key contemporary musical device and one of the main relational spaces of late capitalism. Guest performers this year are Roc Jiménez de Cisneros, Mark Fell and Lorenzo Senni, three artists who base their work on the deconstruction and reconfiguration of the sounds of electronic dance music of the last two decades.

The continuity and interdependence of sound and visual elements and the displacement of reception from the ear to the entire body are two of the main characteristics of discos. We are dealing with a ‘post-scenographic’ sign space that activates and is activated by the actions of the body. By incorporating various disco elements, such as laser rays, colour and/or stroboscopic lights and smoke, the programme seeks to encourage the corporality of the viewers and their performative dimension, while exploring the interaction between the public and the audiovisual continuum.

“The End of Vinyl” a (new) release by Pure in Crónica

Crónica’s 78th edition presents Pure’s classic the.end.of.vinyl, originally released by Mego in 1999. Long out of stock, this was Pure’s first output after the switch from analogue hardware to software and also his first work focusing on the pure listening experience instead of dance music.

the.end.of.vinyl is not a manifesto against vinyl records, rather a mention to the sources used in the composition, taken from various run out grooves. Fourteen years past, these two pieces are now redistributed in digital format and are the starting point for the ten compositions in the upcoming release No End of Vinyl.

Podcast: Interview with Theo Burt on perceptual processes, visual music and intermedia art

Theo Burt is a UK-based artist working with sound, video and light. His work draws on interests in perceptual relationships between sound and image and aesthetic applications of technology. Burt’s recent projects have focused on the use of related sound and video to create a transparency of process, and the effect of partial-predictability on perceptions of time. His work includes installations, live performances and fixed-media pieces.

The e-SaxBow duo triggers a frontal shock between electronic and acoustic music. Noise and melody create living and vibrating matter.

In their plastic and experimental research, Florent Colautti and François Wong build original sound material of wave motions, organic masses, synthetic rains, abstract sounds and cosmic bells.

Florent plays e-String, an hybrid home-made electroacoustic instrument. With a computer, he controls electronic bows and stimulates the strings. The collected vibrations are transformed into sound…

François amplifies a saxophone with a mouthpiece microphone. The wave is transformed by an analogic/numeric set of effects and played through a tube amplifier.

Adrià Bofarull & Joan Saura . Cràter

Gravat entre el 2011 i el 2012 en innumerables sessions d’improvisació a l’estudi del carrer Gomis per Joan Saura i Adrià Bofarull.
Aquest disc està dedicat a Pep Bergadà, instigador del duo; a Hiroshi Kobayashi, conjurat a través del seu Akai s-3000 i el seu shakuhachi, presència còsmica a les sessions; a Gràcia Territori Sonor, per creure sempre en nosaltres, i a la gent de Tecnonúcleo, per la dedicació i paciència en aquesta edició.

Cràter és –pel que fa als sentiments– a la vegada una ferida i el bàlsam que ens alleuja una mica de la pèrdua del Joan. És un dels darrers projectes en que va treballar amb gran il·lusió i que va veure acabat, però no editat. Aquesta és una feina que va deixar amb tota consciència en les mans de l’Adrià, i que ara arriba a les nostres complint els desitjos dels seus autors. Ells m’atorguen el mèrit d’haver insinuat la possibilitat de treball conjunt en una trobada al Festival Daltabaix de Molins de Rei, població que, segons paraules de Víctor Nubla (via Adrià), és l’indret amb més sampleristes per metre quadrat del país i lloc de naixement que comparteixo amb els dos autors. Crec, però, que la seva era una cita predestinada i que, en tot cas, una urgència que aleshores no coneixíem va moure peces per avançar la trobada.

Si bé l’epicentre de les forces que es conjuren a Cràter és al bell mig del Baix Llobregat –m’agrada anar, com la portada, de l’universal al local i imaginar en el disc algun retret al sotmetiment del seu paisatge, a l’oblit “oficial” de la comarca–, són també variats i universals els sentiments que suren en les 12 peces sense nom. Diria que el més evident és la magnífica entesa entre l’experiència sempre disposada i il·lusionada del Joan i l’empenta jove de l’Adrià. El món que ens presenten recull la sinergia viscuda i ara ens toca a nosaltres compartir-la i fer transcendir l’obra de dues personalitats que es fonen en un llenguatge únic. Per a mi resulten indestriables les aportacions particulars de cada músic (però clara la presència difosa de l’Hiroshi) i entenc Cràter com un tot ple de riscos i de sentiments profunds, d’ambients estranyament familiars i de detalls d’exquisida sensibilitat que, de tan propers, em sacsegen la consciència.
