Amy’s sister, Carrie Lee had a fascination with pop stars such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, and it was the inspiration for “Everybody’s Fool”. Amy Lee said that Carrie, 8 at the time, started to dress as those two superstars and that it angered Amy.

My little sister was really getting into these, I don’t want to offend anyone, but like really fake, cheesy, female cracker-box idols, and it really ticked me off,” Lee said. “She started dressing like them and she was like 8 years old. So I wrote a song.”

I’d be ticked off if my sister started dressing like that! I’d be kind of mad at my parents too. What parent would let his or her daughter dress like that? Unless they didn’t know about it, like if she dressed like that when they weren’t around. I don’t know how she would do that though. She was only eight at the time. I’m 13 and my parents know about every bit of clothing I wear and own (because they buy it). It’s a little annoying cause they won’t let me wear black nail polish, or solid black clothes, or black anything except for church.
