Whatever it is that could bring me joy, it has to be the bundle of joy that is going to have her birthday soon. Her father will be coming in from the capital and I think he should come before her birthday, at least he should.

It is going to a little bit of a problem because of the swine flu scare that has taken over the city. A number of schools have closed down and even the church at Xavier University will no longer admit people to mass because of this. I think the animals are taking their revenge on people for what we are doing. First it was the mad-cow disease, then came the bird flu and now, the dreaded swine flu.

Lakatan

I wanted to plant lakatan bananas and I contacted Ira's mom who has a lakatan farm. Even though she gave me some ideas about where to get suckers for planting, I did have to go to different people who gave me great advice. Ultimately, I met with one who successfully supplied me with 3,000 planting materials.

It was difficult at first and I had no first-hand knowledge of bananas and how to plant and care for them but there I was in Cagayan de Oro City all ready to make my mark on the rich soil there. The farm where my banana suckers were to be planted, is a short ride from the city and is situated just past Lumbia Airport. A DENR checkpoint discourages any would-be smuggler of timber products and I don't think anyone would be foolish enough to cross this checkpoint without the requisite papers.

I have seen large containers coming from Talakag which are loaded with Cavendish bananas. Cavendish is a sweet variety from which sprang the wonderful lakatan.

Mind Control

These past few days have shown me that the battle is joined. I am feeling the retaliation of the mind taking place and the universe has been used to effect this counterattack. I postulate that the battle is an all-out conflict and any and all means will be used in order to gain the advantage. I am warring against myself and I am facing a very crafty opponent. I used the universe to gain the upper hand and I succeeded in gaining some ground. My mind bided its time and kept low for a while and suddenly it struck without warning and I was discombobolated. I have recovered somewhat from this attack and I am gaining some consolation from the thought that I will be leaving tomorrow for Cagayan de Oro city and that will take me to a new milieu, one where I could become productive.

Moira Trinity at Lourdes College

She has just graduated from Kindergarten and I would have loved to be there for that. She had enrolled at Lourdes College in Cagayan de Oro City and the last time I was there we went to the mall and had a blast.

There was just me and Moira Trinity and a yaya. I guess it was also a treat for me to see my lovely granddaughter enjoy herself at the different games and machines that swallow tokens like there's no tomorrow. She had told me to get 10 tokens and I thought that might be a little excessive but the fact of the matter is 1o tokes only lasts a few minutes besides, buying 10 at one time gives you an extra 3 which is kinda cool.

So I ended up buying her a few more packs of 10 + 3 and we both had the time of our lives.

Papoy wonders where Moira Trinity is and he thinks of her. Papoy had thought that he would be in Cagayan de Oro City and be able to see her as often as he liked. The plan was for Papoy to work in Cagayan de Oro City and be able to see Moira Trinity and maybe fetch her from school. Such joys are not to be his after all and still, Papoy thinks of Moira Trinity and he is hopeful that he will be able to go back to Cagayan de Oro and have all the time to see her. So many things are happening and the things that should have happened have been elbowed aside and have not happened at all.

Papoy has new websites which keeps him occupied. He likes to keep himself busy so that he will not feel lonely and depressed. Papoy is depressive and Moira Trinity is one person who could cheer him up. This is the magic of Moira Trinity and Papoy knows that she has special powers that could banish pain from his soul. Papoy is so silly but that is just the way he is.

Moira Trinity Loves To Play A Joke On Papoy

Moira Trinity was in Dumaguete around the middle of this year and she stayed for about a week. She quickly discovered the cordless phone which she then proceeded to use in calling the other phone in the house. This she can do from anywhere in the house and she would watch with glee as she made her crank calls. Changing her voice, she would talk to her Papoy again and again pretending to be a pizza delivery cop, a strange combination. She would do this over and over again while she hid behind Papoy and upon putting down the phone, would innocently ask, "who was that, Papoy?"

I guess she enjoys seeing her Papoy believe that he was really talking to a pizza delivery cop. She would then tell Papoy to also order a pizza for herself. Papoy In CDO Again

As luck would have it, Papoy found his way in Cagayan de Oro City and he saw Ira once agein. She knows how to ride horses now and she has a throroughbred pony that she rides on weekends. She has no fear and the horse senses her confidence and allows her to ride where she wants to go and fast.

People are signing up to join Ching's World. This is a good thing. Everyone should jump in and sign up to become a member. A fledgeling website neeeds the support of the masses of netizens in order to succeed. In this regard, offline activities that promote the website could go a long way. For one thing, the website gets introduced in real-time and gets exposed even if it's just to one person at a time.

Away from Moira Trinity

Moira Trinity lives in Cagayan de Oro City and seldom does Papoy go there anymore. It is hard to believe that someone could miss a little girl so much. It has been several months since she visited in Dumaguete and it is the few days with her that is kept replaying in Papoy's mind. Whenever somebody mentions Ira and her antics, it never fails to bring a smile and another story about this truly clever little girl.

Days quickly turn into weeks and months and soon the year will be over and replaced with another and it is never clear as to how it will turn out. It is absolutely amazing how she has grown into a big girl from one who was just a tiny baby in a crib. Her Papoy cannot help but feel that he is missing out on her childhood.

They say that love transcends time and space but somehow Papoy feels a prick of pain whenever he thinks of Ira (Moira Trinity) and how she brings happiness into his otherwise drab little world.

Nothing lasts forever

It is a fact of life that nothing lasts forever, neither happiness nor sorrow. We grieve for the past that will never come again yet we retain the magical capability of making the past come alive in our memory. Sadly, this is all that we can do and we carry with us the smells, colors, feelings, impulses that make up our memories. So it is that Papoy savored the moment when he saw Ira again in Cagayan de Oro (CDO). She was shy at first, not having seen him in a while but she warmed to him after a while.

Only he could feel the pangs of separation that is soon to plague his heart as he savors each moment when he could stay with her and talk to her. For, who knows when the chance would come again when he can see her? To be sure, he is not going to see her as she grows and begins to see the world in a different way everyday. It would be a great treat to watch her grow and share mornings with her as they play their games.

When she last visited with him in Dumaguete, she was upset that he mentioned flowers and declared, "Bayot si Papoy!" She was quite cross because in her young mind, flowers should only be associated and appreciated by girls and young women. For him to mention flowers was somehow unseemly and it took a while before she rid herself ot the notion that her Papoy was effeminate.

Ira is always a joy to be with and her Papoy is always happy when he could visit with her. Here Papoy fetches Ira from her school, the Holy Trinity Montessori School in Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. There is something to be said of generations changing and moving forward. What Karmic ties there are one can only speculate about. That there is affection is beyond question and bonds that may have been forged in lives past find renewal in the present life to bring more joy and meaning to life. To her Papoy, Ira is the smartest, brightest little girl and brings joy to his heart always. Even the thought of her makes him smile and makes life a little easier and a lot happier..
