I’m doing a major overhaul on a client’s website and there’s also lots of new products being added/updated etc. Consequently, my head just cannot bear to do many online activities for fun. I also find it quite draining for some reason. So much so, that last night I went to bed at 9.30pm and slept right through till 6.30 this morning.

I will be back with some more crafty things to share once this interruption has finished. Till then, stay crafty and keep dry.

Hello my lovelies. Today I thought I’d share my recent makes. In my last post I mentioned I purchased some felt squares from The Felt Fairy. I can tell you that the felt really is top stuff and very nice to work with. Would you like to see what I’ve made?

Meet Mika the Monkey ….

….. and Ferdie The Frog.

Both patterns are from the book Felt Friends from Japan. The monkey is for my 20-year-old daughter. She took a shine to him. “A monkey with a beret, I just so need to have one”, she exclaimed. No sooner had I finished making it, I spotted the book opened on the dinner table. Hubby said, that’s your next project. He has a thing for frogs so I happily obliged. Ferdie sits quite happily on his computer desk.

I haven’t decided what to make next. There are so many cute designs out there, I’m rather spoilt for choice.

Thank you so much for your recent comments. They’re very much appreciated. I’m changing the way I reply to your lovely comments. I usually answer you all by direct email, but I will reply here on the blog instead. I’ve noticed on a fair few blogs that I follow that more bloggers are replying online. I think it makes for a better blog, people searching for a new blog to follow will see that the blogger takes the time to reply and it creates a nice community feeling by encouraging discussions. What do you all feel?

Hello again and thank you for stopping by again. For any new readers out there, welcome. Everybody, budge up on the settee

Well, I thought I’d share with you all my purchases. As some of you may know, I’m normally very reserved with my spending when it comes to my crafting hobby. However I have been wanting to purchase some felt for quite a while. In fact, ever since I bought these 2 books on Amazon last year.

Felt Friends

The Cuter Book by Aronzo Aranzi

Well, the stuff they sell at Hobbycraft on on our local market stall is the really cheap stuff. It’s fine for little ones to craft with, but I was looking for a better quality fabric to work with. I knew exactly where to go. Annie of The Felt Fairy. Her felt is wonderful. It contains 30% wool and is good quality stuff. So I bought a pack of 6″ squares in every colour she stocks.

And I also bought some 9″ squares in a few assorted colours.

I did go into my local Hobbycraft yesterday as I desperately needed some scissors. In this household my craft scissors get used for a multitude of things, none of which are craft related. I got a nice multipack with different sizes. Woe betide any member who nicks them for something else. They’re under pain of death. Mwah hahahah.

While there I spied some half priced Regia. So I picked up 4 balls.

Designer Line by Kaffe Fassett

Jacquard Colour

At £1.99 a ball, it was too good a bargain to miss. So if you’re partial to some Regia, get down to your local Hobbycraft and have a look on the clearance shelf before they run out.

I’m looking forward to some felt fun this weekend. What crafty goodies will you be making this weekend?

Well hello dear readers. How are you all? We’re having a bout of typical April showers here at the moment. We do need a lot of rain. Here in the southern part of the UK most of the water boards have issued hosepipe bans. Two years of unseasonably dry winters have left reservoirs at record low levels. Here in our part of Essex, we come under Essex & Suffolk Water and haven’t been affected by the ban. Not quite sure why, maybe it’s because we live in the driest part of the country and the water company have invested in drought measures in the past.

But, enough with the weather. I’ve received some goodies in the post last week. Swap squares, yay!!

These are from Vixen307. She has a blog called Shabbily Ever After. She’s done some really nice crochet work among other crafty goodies. They’re joining my pile of squares received for LaaLaa’s Blanket Swap.

These squares are from this month’s SIBOL Swap partner bigblue. Unfortunately, she has no blog, but the link will take you to her Ravelry profile. She is an accomplished knitter and crocheter.

Thank you both so much for your squares. They’re lovely

My third surprise is in the form of a blog award. Lynne from Ozzy Blackbeard Knits and Sews received 2 blog awards and has kindly passed the baton to me. I’ve got the choice of either award and I’ve decided to pick the Liebster Blog award.

Thank you Lynne xx

The rules are

Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog

Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you

Copy and paste the blog award on your blog

Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed (see below)

Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

Hmmm, so who should I nominate. My goodness I follow so many and they’re all such wonderful blogs. However, the idea is to spread some love for smaller blogs. So I’ve gone through my list and have picked the following, from whom I can tell, have yet to receive this award.

Martine from iMake

Joy from Perfect Little World

Sandra from Just So

Gem from Treasures from the Cherry Tree

Danette from Tea Cups & Knitting

Ladies, if you don’t do awards then that’s fine. There are some bloggers who don’t go for this sort of thing. For those that do, please accept this gracious award and go spread the bloggy love for some fab, lesser known blogs out there.
