Happy 1st Birthday Seth!

Seth turned 1 yesterday. However we aren't going to celebrate until next week. We were travelling back home from our vacation yesterday. Seth is doing very well since he was 6 weeks early. He is crawling around like crazy and he likes to wrestle around with his dad and brothers. He is a big boy and can hold his own. But he is also a cuddle bug. He loves to be held and cuddle. We are so blessed to have him. Happy Birthday Seth!

50 years

My parents celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 19th. I threw a surprise party for them. It had been in the works for several months. And invited about 250-300 people. And no one let them know about it, which was AWESOME! Because when it came time to show up, they were very surprised. I wanted to do something to celebrate this milestone in their life because these days you don't hear of 50 years of marriage.

Creation Museum and Newport Aquarium

We recently made a trip to Cincinnati to go to the Creation Museum (thanks to tickets Phil won from WRFD) and the Newport Aquarium. It was a lot of fun. We took the kids to the "Snakes Alive" show where they learned about the different lizards and snakes while learning about God's creation too. The guy who taught did an AWESOME job presenting the gospel while using the snakes and lizards. We even got to hold a 14 foot burmese python (see previous post). Needless to say we won't be using that picture for our Christmas card this year. Then we went to the Newport Aquarium the next day which was pretty cool. Got to see lots of sharks, alligators, more snakes and fish. It was a nice get away, not far from home and not too expensive. It was great to spend time with each other.

Thought I would post some more pictures of the kids. We've been quite busy so its hard to find time to update things. Phil is keeping busy with is carpentary and construction business. I'm busy with work and planning a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents. Rachel is finishing up with dance. Her recital is June 4th. She is also active in GA's at church. Joel keeps us busy asking us how to spell things and what things say. So we are going on to venture this summer with teaching him how to read. He is active in Mission Friends at church. Luke keeps the house laughing. He is our resident comic. Loves to play with his brothers too. Right now the boys are into Toy Story and can't wait for the 3rd one to come out. And Seth is almost a year old and on the move. He is crawling around and has even begun to pull himself up. He loves to laugh and smile. He has 4 teeth already too. So as you can imagine we are pretty busy with work, church, school and being together as a family.

Here are a few pictures of the kids with Seth. As you can see, they adore Seth. They love helping us take care of him. Rachel and Joel love to feed him his bottle. Luke tries to feed him, but when Luke decides he is done feeding him, he's done. Rachel is now 8 years old, Luke is getting ready to turn 3 in March and Joel is now 5 years old and of course Seth is 7 months old.

I can't believe that Seth is 7 months today. He is a joy to have around. He is trying to sit by himself and rolling over. He's 18 1/2 pounds and is about 25 inches long. We have been trying cereal but he is having a hard time getting the hang of it. He likes to eat ALOT so I'm not sure what the problem is.... :) He has already had one ear infection, and we caught it in time. Hopefully this isn't a sign of taking after his brother Luke. He is teething. We are expecting those to pop out any time as much chewing and slobbering he has done, we thought it would be sooner. He isn't sleeping thru the night, but that's ok that will come in time too. We are happy he is doing so well after having a rough start to life. Here are a few pictures of our little guy.

Rachel has decided to play basketball this year. She is doing a great job! Its fun to see how each week the team is coming together and playing better each time they play. Last week they didn't have a game because of the winter storm and she was very sad. She loves playing. And her coaches are wonderful and do a great job coaching her team. Here are a few updated pictures of Seth. He is growing like a weed and is doing very well. He is smiling and "talking" a lot these days. You lay him on his belly and he is lifting his head up and trying to move. Its very cute. He is doing great!

Joel's 5th birthday

Its hard to believe that Joel turned 5 last week. He had a birthday party at his grandparents house on his actual birthday and then we had his party for his friends at our house last Saturday. Joel has grown so much in the last year. He still remains our tender-hearted boy. He loves his brothers and sister and will tell you that they are his bestest friends.

Seth-3 months

I can't believe that Seth is 3 months already. He now weighs 12 lbs. This is partly because of the special formula he was on for being a premiee. The formula also gave him some severe gas issues which caused him pain and hardly any sleep for him or us. So we have his formula changed and its like a different baby. He is more alert and loves to watch things move. He is smiling alot and talking. His brothers and sister are a great help to mommy and daddy. Things are definitely busy around our house. Phil has started his own business. He is very busy right now. We give God the glory for that. I'm looking for a new job. Rachel has started dance classes. She is taking tap and jazz. Joel and Luke are being boys. They enjoy playing with each other. Their favorite thing to do is go around and fix things with the Handy Manny tools.

Happy 8th Birthday to Rachel

On 8-19, Rachel turned 8 years old. Her grandparents took her out to lunch and to "Sweet and Sassy" to get dressed up with hair and make up. She then came home and we celebrated with her. The next day she got her ears pierced and learned how to ride her bike. She was very excited to show everyone at her party the following Saturday. We had family over to share her special day. And of course she showed everyone her ears and we all went out side to watch her ride her bike. She now can't wait to go outside to ride her bike. She is our little princess and loves to have the center of attention. We are so blessed to have her and she is growing up to be a beautiful young lady.

Happy 12th Anniversary

Phil and I were married 12 years ago today. He's my best friend, best husband and best dad. Although we've had our ups and downs, we made a covenant to each other 12 years ago to stay together. We keep God first in all we do. And we don't use the "d" word (divorce) in our marriage. We are partners for life. I can't wait to see what the next 50 years has in store for us.

5 weeks

I can't believe that our Seth is 5 weeks old now. He sleeps alot and cries when we change his diapers and when he's hungry. He does seem to have a lot of gas,, which makes him very uncomfortable, but we're hoping that will go away with time. I got a few pictures of the rare time he has been awake. He is getting stronger day by day, trying to hold his head up. His brothers and sister think the world of him and have been a great help.

Seth was released from the hospital on Sunday. We are so thankful to have him home, but also remember those babies and families who are still in the NICU, along with those taking care of the babies. We appreciate all those that take care of the babies in the NICU and know that it is a tough job dealing with such young precious lives on a daily basis.

Update on Seth

Called today to see how Seth was doing. He has had a set back and he isn't eating very well from the bottle. The doctor has now begun alternating his feedings- one feeding will be a tube feeding and the next feeding will be a bottle feeding. I'm not sure why but its very disappointing to hear.

Seth update

Seth is a week old today. He is eating a little more, which is good. So a little bit each day is a good sign. Phil and I just have to be patient and wait for Seth to be ready. Phil was able to feed Seth this afternoon and he said he was awake for most of his bottle feeding and was able to take some good pictures of him. I'm doing well. Recovering pretty well. I can't believe it has been a week today.

Update on Seth

Seth continues to do well. However, he won't eat from a bottle. The NICU needs him to eat 2 ounces within 30 minutes from the bottle in order for him to come home. The neonatal doctor says its up to him and thinks it will just click one day. So in the meantime we continue driving back and forth to visit. Please pray for Seth to begin eating. We desperately miss him and want him home with us.

Here are a couple of pictures of Seth from today. He's on his stomach because he has a pretty bad diaper rash that the hospital is trying to clear up. He is off the IV and now only has the feeding tube. We are hoping he will be home soon.

Welcome Seth Abram Mollohan

If you haven't heard, Seth Abram came into the world on Thursday morning at 2:11am. He weighed in at 7 pounds and was 20 inches long. He was about 5-6 weeks early. I had some concerns about him not moving around which lead us to the hospital, which had the doctor concerned which lead to the emergency c-section. Seth is doing well. He is off is oxygen and breathing on his own, and they are hoping to take his IV out very soon since his sugar levels are staying up. He now has to work on taking a bottle. He will take a little bit, but then quit and so the nurses have to give him the rest thru his feeding tube. We are hoping that he comes home sooner than later. We miss not having him at home. We thank God for Seth and hope he gets better real soon.

Kids swimming

Here are some pictures of our kids swimming. We have a pool that fits on our deck and it was a nice Sunday afternoon so we decided to set it up and let the kids play. Luke was a little hesitant at first getting in, but he finally got in. If anyone knows Luke, he does things in his own time. He eats when he is ready, which is usually when the rest of us are all done eating. So why would swimming in the pool be any different. :) Rachel and Joel have not had swimming lessons, therefore they don't know how to go under water. They will however stick their face in the water, but won't go under. So we are making progress. :) I have to remember baby steps. :)
