They have a velvety, almost matte texture. The only issue I have is that the red stains your lips which can get annoying; however, they are both long lasting. Also, if you're not a cocoa butter fan, you will not like this product because it has a strong scent.<br /> <b><br /></b> <b>Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes</b><br /> I try not to use facial wipes on their own unless I'm at someone's house or I'm extremely lazy and/or too tired to wash my face before bed. I like these wipes because they don't irritate my eyes like most wipes do. It is fragrance free and non drying. I've never used the MAC 217, but it does look very similar, and this one works like a dream. I can do a whole eye look with this one brush. For $4.95, that's a bargain. I think I'll buy a couple more of them.<br /> <b><br /></b> <b>purminerals Universal Pencil in Cocoa Topaz</b> <br /> I usually use powder to fill in my brows, but I wanted to try something new because I have a weird patch on one of my eyebrows that no matter how much I try, it just doesn't look right when I fill it in with powder. I was going to buy Anastasia Brow Wiz, but an Ulta employee showed me this one which is cheaper and looks about the same. I've been using it non-stop since I got it. I really like the consistency and how one end has a spooly. I was instantly drawn to the clean, pretty packaging (as well as the lovely Drew Barrymore) and knew I needed to give it a try. Feels quite hydrating and is very pigmented. Slight chemically scent.<br /> <br /> <i>FLOWER Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color</i>: Formula is creamy and almost-matte. It's a bit sheerer than the High-Shine stick. Little to no scent that I could detect.<br /> <i><br /></i> <i>FLOWER Lip Service Lip Butter</i>: Compatible to Revlon Lip Butters, but I think they have more pigmentation honestly. It is on the same opaque scale as the Velvet lipsticks. Little to no scent that I could detect.<br /> <br /> Pros:<br /> <ul> <li>Inexpensive and readily available at Wal-Mart stores.</li> <li>Not tested on animals.</li> <li>Great formulas and good color ranges especially for a new brand.</li> <li>The packaging is very pretty and looks high end.</li> </ul> Cons: <br /> <ul> <li>Though the packaging allows you to see the color of the lipstick, they are not named (or the names are on the plastic to be thrown away).</li> <li>The lip butter packaging is kind of awkward.</li> <li>The High-Shine lip color smells a bit chemically to me.</li> </ul> All and all, I will probably purchase more items from this brand to test out. I thought it would be perfect to do a different kind of post on my blog. I just want to not that though this post's audience is plus size women, I think most of the tips can be used by every body type or gender.<br /> <br /> I've been thrifting since I was in high school. Something about rummaging through other people's lives interests me. I also love antique stores, garage sales, and whatnot, but I have a passion for thrifting. It's inexpensive, better for the environment, and you can find some rad unique pieces.<br /> <br /> 1.&nbsp; <b>Think outside of the box.</b> Basically, think of the garment you pick up by more than what it is intended for. Think about what you can do to the garment to make it your own or how that ugly pattern can actually be totally good. Make it work!<br /> <br /> 2.&nbsp; <b>Look everywhere.</b> Thrift stores can be super unorganized. I mean, just think about all the times you put something back where it didn't belong (don't be ashamed; it happens). Look through all sizes or the sizes up or down from yours. Look in the men's section, look through every garment section, and even the kid's section if you can fit in it.<br /> <br /> 3. <b>Take advantage of the 50% off color tags</b>. This is a given, but you can save a lot of money by doing this.<br /> <br /> 4. <b>Go out of your way.</b> My favorite thrift store is about 20 minutes away, but it is totally worth it to drive because I always find good things.<br /> <br /> 5. <b>Go early or on a weekday. </b>Saturdays and Sundays are hell unless you get there early. Things have been picked over, and sometimes the clothes look sparse. I like going random times like a Tuesday afternoon or something.<br /> <br /> 6. <b>Bring a friend.</b> Bring a friend that is about your size. It makes things less stressful and more fun. They may find something for you and vice versa. Also, what doesn't work for you, may work for them. I recommend not going with more than three people in the same size though, especially if you're plus size. You don't want to end up fighting over that amazing floral cardigan with two other people.<br /> <br /> 7. <b>TRY ON EVERYTHING. </b>Even if it isn't "your size" or if it's kind of ugly on the hanger -- JUST DO IT. It is supposed to seal your makeup and make it last longer. I do feel like it works, but it may be placebo effect. What I do like, however, is that it "sets" my makeup if it looks too matte.
