My daughter just had a birthday, so we had to make a cookie cake for her birthday. Then we made cupcakes for school. Finally we have been working on a castle cake for her actual party. Everything turned out o.k. I was in such a need of a break, that for cub scouts, I just made a box mix brownies and cake mix cookies. Everyone loved them just the same.<br /><br />I am in need of a day off from baking, but it will have to wait until after this weekend. I can take a day off, but not any more than a day. At least it is something I truly love to do. I have heard of so many moms making them for treats, but have never seen one myself. I used a sandwich cake cookie for the bun <a href="http://simplycooking-for5.blogspot.com/2007/03/sandwich-cookies.html">http://simplycooking-for5.blogspot.com/2007/03/sandwich-cookies.html</a> , chocolate icing from a can for the burger, marshmallow fondant for the ketchup, mustard and lettuce. The french fries are shoestring potato chips. And, a juice box was good enough for a drink because it didn't need to be refrigerated. I also wrapped the burger in yellow tissue paper. If I would have had more time, I would have written hamburger on the tissue paper, but I don't think the kids cared. It was a great success! Next week I will probably make treats for my son's baseball team, but other than that I have been posting pictures of other's creations. Why? We are moving in a few weeks and I have not been home enough to make treats. I also am trying to not make a mess and pack up the kitchen.
