My five-year-old will be starting Kindergarten in 3.5 weeks. Can I stress to you how unprepared I am for this milestone?  William with his little toofers and big ole forehead smiling for his momma! William on his last day of preschool. I am unprepared to have him gone for 6.5 hours a day. I am unprepared for him to get dropped off at school and run in to his classroom all by himself

Pale...White...Casper...the list could go on and on, I am Irish and I don't tan very well. I will never forget when I was going out for my bachelorette party and I told my bridesmaids that I had been tanning for a month and one of them laughed and said she couldn't believe it because I was still pretty pale. {sigh} I refuse to go to tanning salons anymore for obvious health risks so I have

Yes, ladies and gents it is that time again! To hear about a fabulous find of mine! Today I will show you what .75 cents got me at a garage sale. I actually walked past these bad boys (three of them!) and came back to them...I would of had total buyers remorse if I passed them up. I love old vintage things in my kitchen and that is where I thought they would end up but I decided that they

So, I am going to totally ignore the fact that I haven't blogged since last summer and move right along... My dear sister-in-law tried for almost a year to get me to go to Zumba with her and I flat refused. I thought to myself, no way can I ever exercise for an hour without passing out and looking like a loser. On New Year's Day (this year) there was a perfect storm. I was in a good mood (

It's that time again! I took a couple random pics this week around my house so I thought I would post some for all of ya'll to see! Years ago I snagged a piece of a plant at my old office and put it in water so it would root. I then planted it...and waited, and waited and seriously seven or eight years later it bloomed and looked like this! My mom gave me my old Swatch watch a couple months

So while I hoped to post some super duper bargain finds from somewhere besides Target, alas, I have failed! I found the cutest pair of flats at Target for only a little over $6.00!! They will look super cute with jeans or black leggings this fall/winter. I also am looking to buy a white desk so I can move my workspace from our kitchen island (I work from home) to a nice workspace in a

I really need to start mixing in some color...I have way too much black in my closet! I only got dressed up once last week (lame, I know) so I threw on my trusted black khaki LOFT shorts and a cute white top and went out with my hubby for our date night! Shirt: Loft, Shorts: Loft, Shoes: Payless, Necklace: F21 Closeup of my new favorite necklace  Next week I swear I will add some color

I thought I would share with ya'll some products that I use religiously and love!  I love this lip balm because it goes on like a lip stick, it's lightweight and actually stays on! It isn't super expensive ($15) and lasts a long time!  I have used this scrub for years! We are talking 10+! It is super inexpensive and does an awesome job of scrubbing away dead skin cells and leaving

So Catherine, Dutchess of Cambridge is on a traveling frenzy just having visited Canada and yesterday landed in Los Angeles. I love Kate's (seemingly) effortless style so I thought I would post some pics of her recent trip for all to see!  Love that she can rock a cowboy hat!  I think she looks beautiful with her hair back.  Rocking a pretty blue dress and nude stilettos.

It's that time again! A lil sampling of some photos I took this week!   My sister-in-law took this at our swim club. I like it because it has a 60's vibe to it.  I decided to spice things up with our usual pb&j sandwiches so I used a heart shaped cookie cutter!  My sweet William...I am ignoring the fact that his head looks so big! That's all folks! Hope you all have a

This is not healthy... How about we go back to looking like this.... You look gross and are giving young girls the wrong idea of what "healthy" looks like!

So yesterday we received the best news EVER! After two months on pins and needles the hubs landed another teaching job! We are super stoked and exciting at joining a new parish and making new friends! I get to decorate a new classroom and go shopping for supplies! A total win-win! (sorry, when I saved this pic it was vertical but as soon as I place it in my blog it is horizontal!) Shirt

So this was my fourth, 4th of July in Ohio...and I have to admit, it was the best yet! There was a trip to Grandma's where the boys decided to play in the dogs crate... Spending some time driving their truck...  Making silly faces... Sleeping in the car... And yummy treats... And lots of family, friends and fun! Can't wait to experience the rest of what Summer

So on Tuesday we were lucky enough to have my Mom watch William for the night so we took Grant out to dinner and then to a swim meet to see his nieces swim.  My wonderful accessory to my outfit was my boot I have to wear due to a hairline stress fracture. Needless to say that my foot was really swollen from standing on it for so long! Shorts: Ann Taylor, Shirt: Target, Flip flops: Kohl's

So I started running about five weeks ago... Then I purchases a running program app (C25K) and finished Day 1 Week 1 in severe pain. Then I fell in a garage while wearing flip flops in the rain. A couple days later I decided to run...then the pain began...then the swelling...so I waited. After a couple days of soreness and having an ugly looking foot I went to the doctor... A couple

So along with Thrifty Thursdays I am doing a weekly blog called InstaFriday to post pics from my iTouch that I take each week.  I took this at the Reds/Yankees game on Wednesday. I got to stalk ARod the whole game...so it was tons of fun! .My center piece for my dining room table. I used a vintage red pyrex mixing bowl and stars I bought on Etsy. Our anniversary gift to each other...A

So I am training for a 5K Did I mention that I am NOT a runner at all! This is the girl who would seriously die during gym in highschool when we had to run a mile each semester. I am doing this for myself. I am doing this to lose weight. I am doing this to better myself and my health. Wish me luck as I begin this nine week journey. -Marcella

On a day where the boys don't go to the pool or to the park I like to take them on an adventure walk. My adventure walks used to consist of taking our chocolate lab puppy for walks around our old neighborhood to tire him out after being inside all days while the hubs and I worked. But now it has evolved to taking my two crazy little boys on walks to tire them out! We walk around our

Yes, it is that time of year again! VACATION TIME! This year we are switching things up. Instead of Gatlinburg, TN we are headed to Norris Lake, TN! Someone gave us advice once and told us no matter how young the kids are...still go on vacation with them! We listened and went to Gatlinburg when our youngest was only six months old. The five hour ride was excruciating...lots of crying and for the

Who doesn't love a great deal, right? So I decided I am going to start a weekly Thursday blog, entitled, Thrifty Thursday!  I will post garage sale finds, in-store finds and online deals that make me happy!  I haven't been to too many garage sales so I can only post an in-store deal that made me happy. I have a serious addiction to Target and love scouring the clearance racks...the

So my four-year-old finished his first full year of pre-school today. There were many highlights...Thanksgiving Program Mother's Day gift... And lots o lots of artwork...  (turn your head to side) And a couple {low}lights...ruining three pairs of pants and three shirts and telling his teacher he was thankful for Daddy and Toys(poor Grant and I were left off his list). Oh, did I

There are a ton of celebrity couples that annoy me...most notably brad and angelina...but today, I added another couple to my list.. Selena and Justin (if you need last names, you should probably stop reading). First of all, she is older and taller than him. He looks like he is 12 and she could pass for 20. They were uber secret with their relationship until recently. Kinda wish they would go

So holidays are kinda a big deal in the Gillespie household. Just ask my family about the birthday parties I throw for my kids...I don't spend a ton of money but there is always a theme, balloons, confetti and a birthday quiz! I blame my {addiction} on my mother. :) She decorates for every holiday..and I loved it growing up. I have since morphed into my mother in more than one way. My extended
