Our little boy has always been fond of ride-on toys, mini-plane toy rides, arcade vehicle games, carousels and the likes, that’s why everytime we visit the mall or an amusement park he would almost always ask for a ride. He has a ride-on car at home from when he was 1-year-old and he still loves riding it.

Here are some of his photos enjoying himself on rides. Top photo is his favorite, a plane, and you’ll see him saluting like saying “Aye, aye, captain!”

This one is in an arcade center where he loves to play pretend. Seeing his Dad driving often, he would imitate him and make the vroom vroom sound like other kids. We have tried the motorcycle rides too but he says it’s too big for him still.

Finally, a carousel, here he’s in an elephant with two seats, I sat there too but had to take a photo first with him alone in it.

Rides like this are a hit to every kid…even to us hehe, who loves to play and reconnect with our childhood gone by.

“One of the  painting at Art at the Shang 2011 by The Saturday Group”

A really really late post, super late post…this was an exhibit in July of last year that I forgot to post until I saw again in my photos.

The Saturday Group of Artists presented its 43rd anniversary show, Art at the Shang 2011, at the Shangri-La Mall’s Atrium. It ran fro July 16 to 23, 2011. The show featured recent works of senior and established artists, Malang, Cris Cruz, Fernando Sena, Ben Infante, Hermes Alegre, Ding Hidalgo. There are also works from its core-group including Convocar, Anna De Leon, Migs Villanueva, Caña, Sheila Tiangco, Roel Obemio and Inna Vitasa.

Served on top of grilled eggplant and pakchoi, yellow rice….this crispy fried liempo is a must!

Food Friday, Yummy Sunday

The first thing to be aware of as a homeowner and a pet owner is that most dog doors will not be large enough for the average sized child let alone the average size man. Two of the most secure doors pet doors are the electric signal pet doors and the wall tunnel pet doors.

Wall Tunnel Doors: This type of pet door is perhaps the most secure pet door as it is installed directly into the wall of your home. You can get greater security by using reinforced pet doorframe, which is constructed using heavy metal as it prevents a burglar from having the ability to slip through the doors by widening it.

Electronic Signal Doors: This type of pet door is typically installed directly into any external door. The great thing about these doors is that it comes with a sensor that can sense whenever your pet needs to get in or out of the house, because an electronic signal transmitter is placed on your pet’s collar. The signal transmitted between the signal transmitter (on the pet’s collar) and door sensor is a unique signal. This means that the door will only open for your pet.

Additional methods of ensuring home safety with dog doors include: Having a “Beware of Dog” sign Locking the pet door each time you leave the house or go to bed at nights Having motion sensor lights that can be used to activate off interior and exterior lights

Sometimes when I go online I can’t help but reminisce seeing the photos of my officemates and I. So we had a reunion – all of us, those who remained and those who stopped working or transferred work. It was a really nice and enjoyable rendezvous.

You know, when I’m online too I usually browse job websites and still, after all these years my line of work is at the top of  most searched jobs — I guess competition will be tough in case I decided to go back to the workforce. My job is far different than designing interior, than writing complex pieces nor than capturing  a person’s emotion or those automotive manufacturing jobs but I was happy with it. Maybe in time, I’d get back to it and enjoy it again just like before.

We visited the Giant Snow Globe at the Mall of Asia last week. Both of my siblings live where snow is abundant this time of the year so Matt sees their photos. Maybe someday soon we’d be able to visit them where they are based but for  now, the giant snow globe snow is the nearest place for some winter fun. A Japan visit is also on the list but I don’t see it happening soon. (I’m crossing my fingers here.)

Dad joined in Matt for some photo opp too! Would have loved it if they’re wearing really thick jackets because admittedly, wearing summer outfit on a snow-laden background looks really fake. lol

Family Time, Wednesday Whites

We had our car painted orange some time ago. It used to be gray-green or something to that shade. I don’t remember why hubby wanted to have it painted as bright as this but it’s ok I guess. We got this as a used car from my older brother when he left for Canada. It’s still in good condition but just needs a bit of fine tuning, not a massive job. We didn’t have trouble with the transfer/registration documents or anything, we’re just thankful my brother did everything efficiently!

I guess when you buy used cars from people you know, there’s no need to look for reviews for used cars. You know the person and are MUCH less likely to be scammed. There could be disadvantages compared to buying at a dealers though, such as no warranty or any sort of guarantee.

So when searching for new car deals or even used cars, make sure that you do not jump into a decision immediately. Weigh things out, inspect the car thoroughly and make sure records are provided. Just because a car costs less doesn’t mean you’re getting a good deal, you wouldn’t know how much it would cost in terms of repairs. Make sure that what you pay for is worth is in the end!

We’ve had a party last Friday and it was full of fun, games, laughter, gifts and of course … photos!

Colorful Weekend

In this age where everything needs to be done in a hurry, food is no exception. It’s a bit sad but there are such dishes that you can easily cook without sacrificing the taste…Chicken fingers for one are tasty, easy to cook and goes well with rice, still yummy even when eaten alone or with any kind of dip.
