Alex and her friends had a lot of fun and I got a few craft ideas for later in the year.  Click below

Marietta Confederate Cemetery

This past week we decided to visit the Marietta Confederate Cemetery after hiking up Kennesaw Mountain.  Some friends of ours who recently moved to Atlanta had gone here so we decided to check it out on our way home.  It looks like there are confederate soldiers buried from all of the southern states in this cemetery.  There is one section of the cemetery called

This past weekend while Keith was on his last interview I discovered a chocolate chip recipe that looked really delicious and it was!  The recipe calls for sprinkling sea salt on top of them before cooking which I tried with one batch and left it off with another.  The sea salt really makes a difference.  I love the taste of salt and sugar together!  Keith also thought the cookies were

Alex as been busy these past few weeks.  Since Christmas, she has been to two birthday parties.  Both of them at Snip-It's- a hair salon.  The girls get to dress up like princess, get their hair done, put on make-up, and have a fashion show.  At the first birthday party, Alex put on the eye make up kind of thick, making her look like a raccoon.  At the second party, she toned it down a little.

Keith received the results from the Step 2 CS today and he passed.  It took two and a half months to get the results back, which is way too long!  He doesn't have anymore tests to take until residency.  Now he can relax, go on his interviews, and then match in March 2012.  We are so excited!  And mostly, we just can't wait to move closer to Minnesota.

Alexandra's 6th Birthday

Alex's 6th Birthday was on December 20th.  Here are some pictures from her sleepover party.  She had a lot of fun and made a mess of her room.  :)  Click above to check out pictures.

This past Thursday, Alex's class had a holiday party.  Pictured above is Alex's little snowman, made from socks, buttons, beans, and yarn.  I came in to help and I thought the snowman project may have been a little much for kindergarteners.  I felt like myself and the other moms had to do all the work.  They loved them though, and Alex is proud of her snowman.

Alex was so happy to spend a weekend with Larry the Lion. Larry the Lion is a stuffed animal that goes home with kids on the weekend.  Alex has been waiting anxiously for her name to be drawn!  I took some pictures of herself with Larry over the weekend and shared the pictures with her class on Monday.

Alex celebrated her birthday with family and friends while we visited Minnesota.  Here she is with her friend Megan.  They had a little play date at Haylie's house.  Unfortunately, I could not get them all in the picture.

Today is Alex's 6th birthday.  She was born six years ago today at 1:45 in the afternoon.  She is so excited to have a sleepover party tonight!  I am sure I will be taking

I know this pic (and the pics from the previous post) were taken before Thanksgiving, but I am just getting around to updating the blog.  The week before Thanksgiving we rented a car and drove up to the midwest for Thanksgiving and 5 interviews.  The first interview Keith had was in Cedar Rapids, IA.  Really, I didn't like the town so much.  There didn't seem to be a whole lot to do for kids.

Kaya's Birthday Party
Last weekend Alex went to her friend, Kaya's, birthday party.  It was at Lifetime Fitness and full of fun.  Alex loves spending time with her friends, Kara and Kaya.  Click above to see pictures.  Alex met Kara and Kaya while living in Dominica and we were reunited when we moved to Miami.  We are so happy they are in Atlanta with us.
