Staying Fit in Today's World

In today's world, it is becoming increasingly important to stay trim. The media bombards us with images and messages about what to eat, what not to eat and what to do to stay healthy. But the true 'secret' to living well? Eating healthily and doing exercise to get the weight off, and to keep it off.

Unfortunately, for a lot of us, it is never quite that easy. A weight loss program and support network, like Weight Watchers can help . They provide meal plans, calorie counts and information about the best way to go about living healthily. They can provide weekly weight updates and progress measurements that can help you to achieve your health goals, whatever they may be.

Another positive to groups such as this is the support they provide in helping you progress. Trained professionals are practiced in helping people lose weight and get healthy, and have a wide knowledge of weight loss tips and techniques. Similarly, to be in a network of other people with similar goals can both boost morale, self-esteem AND add a bit of competition to your weight loss program which could always give you greater motivation.

Exercise is important not just in losing weight but also in keeping weight down. Combined with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, the pounds will be off in no time. Whilst starting an exercise program can be a daunting undertaking, especially if you are not a seasoned gym-user, but do not fear - there are usually plenty of professionals around to help you, or you could book a session with a Personal Trainer.

Whilst the gym, particularly alone, requires a certain amount of motivation and effort, another way to get active is to join a sports club or team. All sorts of clubs exist - triathlons, swimming, running, soccer ( some great soccer coupons here ), athletics - and it is a matter of choosing the one that you like best. You could even go along with a friend. If you're having fun and getting fit, you probably won't even realize you're losing weight, but it's a great way to enjoy activity in a way you may not have before - and you might even make some friends!

So what does healthy eating actually entail? The main thing is to eat three square meals, and to try not to snack on unhealthy foods. Set meals and snacks at times that suit your day, and stick to a plan. Make sure that each meal contains protein, carbohydrates and vegetables, and that you choose low-fat and healthy-fat meals. For snacks, try fruit, nuts or yoghurt and try to drink as much water as you can throughout the day to stay hydrated. And what should you stay away from? A healthy lifestyle can include a bit of everything in moderation, but try to consume less coffee, regardless of how tempting the current tassimo discount codes are, fewer dairy products and less salty or fatty food. And it might seem obvious, but fast food is definitely off the menu.

So enjoy yourself, look after yourself and most importantly - stay calm. Everyone progresses at their own pace, and it is a matter of finding the activity, food and lifestyle that suits you. But with a wealth of sport and exercise available, plenty of guidance on food and dieting around, the weight should drop off easily and stay off. Before you know it and with the right balance, you'll be the weight you want and feel fantastic.

Zipadee-Zip Review and Giveaway

A few months ago, Caroline started rolling over while she slept. The problem was, she was still swaddled at night, so she would get trapped on her belly, and that scared the daylights out of me! But I couldn't put her to bed without being swaddled, because she would wake herself up. So my problem was coming up with something that would help her sleep, but still be safe for my princess.

After a little online research, I kept finding links to Zipadee-Zip - a one-piece, star-shaped sleeping bag that offers the cozy, snugness of a swaddle, but gives baby freedom to move. It promises an easy transition from swaddling, which is exactly what I was looking for. Zipadee-Zip was kind enough to send Caroline a Zipadee-Zip to try out. I was a little skeptical at first - could this really work? Caroline was used to a very tight, arms-at-her-side swaddle. I tried it out at naptime first and was actually shocked to discover that she actually slept soundly!

To this day (3ish months later) Caroline still sleeps in her Zipadee-Zip every single night. She is free to roll around, and actually sleeps on her belly most nights, and can crawl and even pull herself up when she wakes up in the morning. I guess our next battle is taking away the Zipadee-Zip, but I'm not too worried about that. I love the fun prints. The hands are a little more "worn" because Caroline constantly has them in her mouth. The zipper does bunch a little bit in one spot, and we have to kind of push that part down so it doesn't stick out in her face, but she could care less. I'm super satisfied with the results!

Nutrisystem has something new...

I am so jealous right now. Right after I placed my order for this month, Nutrisystem came out with a new dessert. The Red Velvet Whoopie Pie...I LOVE LOVE LOVE Red Velvet cake and just looking at the Red Velvet Whoopie Pie is making me drool. Nutrisystem has some awesome desserts, I love their bars, the chocolate cake, and the ice creams so I know this Red Velvet Pie is going to taste sooo good.

Speaking of my favorite desserts, after spending many weeks eating Nutrisystem's chocolate cake and brownies (I'm a huge fan of chocolate, as you can tell) I tried out the dessert bars. Wow, I didn't know what I was missing. They're so good, it's like having candy for dessert. My absolute favorites are the Thin Mint Crisp Bar and the Milk Chocolately Delight, they are awesome!

I like something sweet after dinner and these bars really hit the spot.

Wow, this year is seriously flying by! I can't believe Mother's Day is just around the corner. Two years ago I received one of the best Mother's Day gifts, my second son. He was born 3 days before Mother's Day, and brings our family so much happiness. Of course Mother's Day isn't just about me. I am blessed to have an amazing mom. She deserves the best. For Mother's day I'll be making her a personalized gift from Shutterfly. I love creating personalized gifts because they're so much more special. I know as a mom, I love receiving personalized gifts. You've heard me gush about how great Shutterfly's photo books are, but they're photo calendars are just as awesome. Gorton's "Fisherman's Friday" Review and Giveaway!!

I have to admit when I first thought of Gorton's, I pictured fish sticks. Then I was given a chance to do a review on some of Gorton's products, and I was surprised by how many different delicious shrimp and fish products there were to chose from! I had no idea that Gorton's sold Shrimp Scampi and Shrimp poppers. My husband and I LOVE LOVE LOVE shrimp so we just had to try the Scampi and the poppers.

My husband cooked up the Shrimp Scampi for us last night and it was really good. He followed the directions and the scampi came out in a nice thick buttery sauce. Perfect over white rice. There's enough sauce to help flavor up the rice and the shrimp taste really good. The Shrimp Scampi has about 3 servings, so if you have a bigger family you'll need to buy more. This box was perfect for my husband and I, and my husband was really impressed too. He kept saying how good it taste!

Breaded shrimp is pretty much at the top of my favorite foods list, so I knew we couldn't go wrong with Gorton's Shrimp Poppers. This bag of Shrimp Poppers has six servings and is perfect for the family. We baked it and the shrimp came out nice and crunchy. We loved it with fried rice, but I know it would taste good with french fries too.

I'm so glad I got to see "the other side of Gorton's". Gorton's is so much for than a fish stick company.

As a kid I use to love looking through my parents yearbooks. It was funny seeing pictures of my parents young, and I enjoyed reading what others had to say about them. I knew when I was in high school I had to get my yearbooks, and I'm so glad I did. It's been 9 years since I've graduated high school and I love flipping through my yearbooks and reminiscing on all the good memories. My husband and I are high school sweethearts, and every time I see our yearbook pictures it's a reminder of how much we've grown up together.

My Baby Clothes Review & Giveaway

I've worked with My Baby Clothes a few times before, and each time, it's such a pleasure to work with them. They have an awesome selection of boutique-style clothes for boys and girls, and it's so, so, SO difficult to choose a favorite.

My Baby Clothes sent Caroline this FREAKING ADORABLE little outfit. This picture was taken many weeks ago, and she's worn it several times since. I love, love the leopard print pants, and the way the sweater dress has that shimmer. We get tons of compliments on how cute she looks. After several washes, there's not much wear and tear, and she's perfectly comfortable to crawl all around in the outfit. Definitely one of Mommy's favorites!

Wow, I can't believe I'm on my 30th week of Nutrisystem! I was a little sad because I thought this was going to be my last post...but guess what? I've been asked to stay on for another 2 months...Woohoo! I'm so excited that I've been asked to stay longer. I still need to lose more weight, especially with summer coming around, and I know I can do it with Nutrisystem. I've had a great week, which has included exercise and lots of water, and I've lost another pound!

Accent Studios Wall Decal Review and Giveaway!

I'm a huge fan of wall decals. They're a great way to add decor to any room. However, not all decals are the same, some are cheap and won't stick to the walls very well. Accent Studios uses the highest quality of vinyl on their wall decals and offers beautiful designs. There's no need for glue, since their decals are coated with self adhesive backing, and their decals won't harm your walls.

Some of my favorite wall decals from Accent Studios:

Accent Studios has so many amazing designs, I had a hard time choosing which decal I wanted to review. When I came across their Music Wall decals, I just knew I had to pick one out for my husband's classroom. My husband is a music teacher and a guitar player. We both loved the Music Bar 3 decal with the guitar. What really makes this decal unique is that it can be personalized with a name or phrase.

The wall decal arrived quickly and was pretty easy to put on. We decided to put it on a large 20"x30" frame, in case my husband ever moves classrooms he can take it with him. The decal is stunning. It's very bold and makes a great looking art piece. My husband personalized the decal with his last name in red so it could stand out against the black. I like that Accent Studios allows you to choose which colors you want your decal to be.

Accent Studios has really great designs at affordable prices. I will definitely be buying my wall decals from them.

I hope you have your green gear ready, St. Patrick's Day is coming up and you don't won't to forget to wear green! I know I don't want to get pinched.

I picked up this Wear The Green Tie for my husband. Got to make sure he doesn't get pinched! This tie is fun and classy. It's too bad St. Patty's Day falls on a Saturday, he would have loved to wear it to work.
