What makes you say that you are “walang katulad”?

Maja: Walang katulad na energy ang ibinibigay ko kapag nagpeperform ako. Gusto kong nararamdaman ng audience yung energy ko, at yung saya ko na nagpe-perform ako para sa kanila.

You are known for being a versatile actress, a sensational dancer, a YouTube star, and many more. Can you share some personal experiences that have contributed to your wide range of talents?

M: Hindi rin naging madali ang journey ko bilang isang artista. Maraming paghihirap din. Pero sa bawat paghihirap na ‘yun, ‘yun ang ginagamit ko para unti-unti kong maabot ang aking mga pangarap.

How do you prepare for your most intense scenes?

M: Nire-review nang nire-review ko ang script. Paulit-ulit kong binabasa ‘yung lines, para pagdineliver ko siya, nasa puso talaga. Kailangan bawa’t role na gagampanan mo ay i-embrace ‘yun.

What’s your reaction to some of your hit scenes becoming viral on the internet?

M: Walang katulad na saya! Dahil kahit matagal nang tapos ay buhay pa rin sila sa social media.

EDSA Traffic? Sarmiento Offers Solution

Manila traffic is now a big problem in the metro. And with this, House Transportation Committee Chair and Samar 1st District Representative Edgar Mary Sarmiento unveiled the blueprint of his proposed centralized and synchronized bus dispatch system which would turn the EDSA's rowdy and chaotic city buses into a fast, efficient and predictable mass transport system.

Sarmiento, a civil engineer, disclosed the full details of his proposal after announcing that his panel is closely working with the Department of Transportation (DoTr) to craft a roadmap which would solve EDSA's traffic problem.

In his proposal, Sarmiento said that the innermost lane of EDSA will serve as an "express bus lane" which can be accessed through stations used by the MRT. Like a carousel, the "express bus lane" will just circle around EDSA, duplicating the route of the MRT.

"People who use the MRT can now have the option to ride the bus which will be also operated like carousel. The buses will only load and unload passengers in a synchronized manner at the MRT stations so they are basically an extension of the MRT. Walang magiging traffic dyan because the entire inner lane from Taft Avenue to North Avenue and vice-versa will be enclosed and exclusive to the express bus lane ," Sarmiento said.

Sarmiento said that the three lanes in the middle of EDSA will be dedicated for all types of private vehicles subject to the existing vehicle reduction programs like the number coding scheme. Private cars will be only allowed to use the outer lane when turning into an intersection.

The outer lane of EDSA or the yellow lane will be used as a dedicated city bus lane which will also adopt a centralized and synchronized dispatch system. Dedicated bus stops will be established one kilometer apart. Loading and unloading of passengers will be strictly implemented on these bus stops.

Sarmiento said that while the express bus lane will cater to passengers who also use the MRT, the city bus lane operation will extend up to the Parañaque Integrated Bus Terminal (PITX) in the south and the Valenzuela Integrated Bus Terminal (VIBT) in the north and vice-versa.

"City buses will now be using the outermost lane in EDSA or the yellow lane. They will be traversing EDSA in a carousel-type system until they reach the proposed north terminal which is the Valenzuela Integrated Bus Terminal. From there, the city buses will now traverse to the south still using the outermost lane until it reaches the proposed south terminal which is the Paranaque Integrated Bus Terminal," Sarmiento said.

"We propose this to eradicate the kanya-kanya system of the buses wherein they compete with each other creating chaos through overtaking, overspeeding, and overstaying. Puno man o hindi, lalarga po ang mga city buses dahil may schedule na po ang biyahe nila at hindi na sila makikipag-agawan ng pasahero dahil hindi na commission-based ang kita kundi sahod na ang matatanggap ng mga drivers at konduktors," Sarmiento added.

Sarmiento said that also part of the proposal is to modernize the fare system using tap or beep card.

"Once everything has been set in theory and generated through computer by the MMDA, it will be presented to the public through a dry run, which will be implemented on a day with the least number of vehicles in the road. We are going to have a computer-generated simulation of this proposal to be led by the MMDA,"

What is your fondest memories related to theme parks? Kids and I would always love to visit theme parks specially during Christmas. One of the most memorable theme park ride that my daughter and I was able to ride and try was the Super Viking at Sky Ranch Tagaytay. Her first time to try this kind of ride, it swings forward and backward and "para kang tinatapon" and we consider it as one of the scariest but fun theme park ride experience. It was her first time ( that's why she can never forget😁😁), and every time we mention about "theme parks", she would always remember that challenging and fun experience.

A few days ago, my son Eugene, nephew Kikits and I attended the launch of Jollibee's newest party theme, the Jollitown Theme Park held at Jollibee Biopolis Macapagal, Pasay City. It is the latest addition to the various Jollibee Kids Party theme options parents have. Children can imagine the ultimate theme park adventure through the party's amusement park activities, games, entertainment and party favors.

Each corner of the Jollitown Theme Park party was filled with fun activities including Face paint and photobooth. Kids enjoyed the different fun games like the Hetty Color match, Popo's power ball and Jollitown Tower.

John Lloyd, one of the most bankable actors of the Philippine cinema and very effective endorser once again proved that his fans are still waiting for his return.

In a teaser video, which lasted only for a few seconds and only shows the back shot of Cruz’s, and posted in the Facebook page of the number one selling shawarma Turks a few weeks ago had been viewed 3.2M times, shared almost 800 times and gained a huge number of comments.

Without any clue in that teaser video, his fans already assumed that it was him in the video. Actress Bea Alonzo on her Instagram also posted a screenshot of that teaser video, which garnered almost a million likes.

This Monday morning Turks finally revealed in the 1-minute and 17 seconds video of Cruz showing the actor walking through different destinations, which somehow depicts Cruz’s sojourn. The video is very simple, yet there’s drama the way it was created, and in a very subtle shot, he stopped and took a bite of a Turks pita donner.

The rugged look of Cruz in the Turks video titled Ang Pagbabalik is way too far from his guy-next-door image and a lot of people in the industry are asking if this signals his return to the limelight. His fans are still wondering about the life he’s been living since his hiatus.

According to Turks president Gem L. Zenarosa that during the course of his talks with Cruz, they never talked anything about his showbiz career or plans. He added that he got Mr. Cruz as the latest ambassador of Turks because of his great confidence working with Cruz.

“I am really grateful that John Lloyd trusts our company, he is a brilliant and very creative young man. Aside from acting we have discovered some of his remarkable talents,” Zenarosa stressed.

The Ang Pagbabalik according to Zenarosa is actually about Turks Small Pita Doner, which will be available again in all its branches.

“John Lloyd is the best endorser for this because like him, despite his absence in the showbusiness for a couple of years, the warmth and love of his fans for him never dwindles. With our Small Pita Doner we believe that our customers will be happy to know that it is back in our menu,” Zenarosa explained.

What do we really talk about when we talk about safety in schools? This is a question that lingers year after year as we take part in ensuring that our children grow up as young learners equipped for the challenges of the 21st century.

From the school grounds to the playground equipment and student transportation vehicles, every detail of a school's environment must be well-planned and established with the student's
safety in mind.

Open spaces that increase and ease how students go from one point to another must be planned out with everyone in mind, including those with special needs like ramps and elevators for those on wheelchairs.

Far too often, safety is associated with the physical aspects, such, at certain points, we tend to forget that the modern age has brought about new dangers for our children that we might not expect. Bullying among school age children, for instance, has been a problem in school settings, given the imbalance in terms of power relationships between students, and even among teachers.

As defined, bullying is an unacceptable form of repeated verbal, physical, and social behavior that causes both physical and psychological harm towards a victim. This can happen within the school and even outside it, especially if such acts are done through online means, or what is called cyberbullying. It takes many forms and can sometimes go on undetected, especially if the victim is given threats. It is important to be able to identify and prevent incidents of bullying from going on unnoticed, and parents and educators alike must stay vigilant about these issues.

Worldwide, the stance against bullying in schools has come at the forefront of children's rights, and hence, it is a pressing concern for schools. The task of securing a safe learning environment for our children is an important tenet of the Whole Child approach, one that continues to develop approaches for intervention based on child and adolescent development and learning theories which help mend relationships and provide caring and loving environments for children.
