LeapPad Explorer: Problems and Defects

I have written positive reviews on LeapPad Learning Explorer and after 3mos. of my B's usage, its about time to make an honest review on any possible defects and problem encountered. The top 3 common problem reported are the following:

It stopped recognizing cartridges.
just cease to work.
touch screen is disturbed.

All our LeapPad games is acquired via download code and obviously we didn't own any cartridge (yet!), fortunately all the problems mentioned above is far from own experience. What i'm going to share is considered a problem cause by user. A month ago, my B accidentally dropped the toy that leads to its speaker sounds malfunction. But before that i already witnessed several times of minor "dropping accidents' . I personally suggest that you try inserting a neck lanyard along with the slot for stylus pen.

We have no other choice, but to use a headset or connect our computer's speaker whenever he plays with it to get the same sound quality.

Toys R Us recommends a repair center located at Retiro D. Tuazon in Quezon City (we're from Alabang). Yup! imagine the miles we have to take just to make the built-in speaker properly works again. Yet, we have no choice, but to schedule a visit there and make a reminder to B to take extra care of the toy gadget after the repair.

I am planning to throw an Ice Cream Party for my B's 4th Birthday this month.

January 21st falls on Saturday, definitely a very good time to celebrate with family and friends since most of them can attend our small celebration. Here's a checklist in preparation for that special day:

Location is set.
Party Invitations.
Grocery list:

Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry flavored ice cream
assorted toppings: nuts, cookies, mallows, rainbow sprinkles,M&Ms, mini stik-o (any additionals?)
Ice Cream Cones.

I recently started my Christmas shopping list to be fulfilled. Unlike others, i'm too relaxed for i've got only a short list of presents to buy! surely i've got enough time and not stressing myself out of which is the best gift to give to my family and friends.

I'm not really good in choosing a gift, i remember having in mind giving something useful and practical to my friend's daughter and i ended up buying 3-pairs of socks. And when the 7 year old girl opened it, it's like "Aaayy" oh, well she never really said something like that but i can tell that's exactly what she meant to say from 'that' certain look of dismay from her face.

I should've bought girls accessories, toys or something but instead just grab the first useful piece that came in mind. Hah! Who loves Algebra?! ME!!! cheerfully raising hand.

Back in College, Calculus is the most popular and hated subject, those complex numbers doesn't gets its easy way on everybody's comprehension. Many repeatedly fails the subject causing a lot of money and stress. Not everyone learns to love Math; for me, its like a challenge that i had surpass and never wanted to be with the same struggle again. This is my personal review on the newest and the hottest toy gadget this year. The LeapPad Learning Explorer, for those who are planning to buy, here's an introduction to this product:

LeapPad tablet has a 5-inch color touchscreen, 480x272 resolution.
Has built-in camera and video.
2GB Storage (non-expandable). But you can move the apps on and off by connecting to PC.
Installation CD included or you can download the LeapPad installer online.
Include 4 Learning Apps: (worth $35)
App 1 - Pet Pad
App 2 - Story Studio
App 3 - Art Studio
App 4 - Choose an App
Comes with extra stylus.
Uses 4 AA batteries.

On Pet Pad App, you can "buy" treats or shampoo using tokens and badges earned from learning and games achievements. The 100+ cartridge games, apps, digital books, videos and flash cards are sold separately.

Addicting as it is, i invest on LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer Carrying Case to protect the handheld for learning fun on the go! I bought it from Toys R Us in Alabang Town Center, together with this LeapLet Download Card both for Php999.75 each. I admit its a bit expensive that really takes a "leap" on my out of budget expenses border. But i'm quite determined on creating a fun learning way for my only child so i took it, blocking out all the spending hesitations...( am i hearing a bid of goodbye to my dream ipad2? sigh*).

I bought this Leaplet download card, expecting to have 2 apps worth $10 each but to my dismay, when i redeem the code my account loaded with just $7.50 for each card... (tsk! bad). My son's choice of app to download is the Roly Polly Picnic game (love the tilt sensor!) worth $10 so i was left with $5 on my account. That means i have to spend more and more for every apps. I searched for the cheapest download card offered online and found the lowest App Center Download Card for $14.99. Next time, i'll make a purchase from this ebay seller that agreed to directly email my code after the payment.

Overall, i would most likely recommend this product and introduced the new generation of learning, digital reading and personal creativity for children!

To add up on home security measures, many of us considers having high security locks for window and doors. Traditional locks are strongly recommended by locksmith professionals to be replaced with high quality mortice lock for maximum protection and security.

At home, we make sure that our main gate and front door locks is secured even on broad daylight. It becomes our usual practice on recommended home safety habit. Robbery and crime rates reports was alarming like the incident that had happened with my SIL that took their brand new DLSR away!
