After eating sliced pineapples as dessert last July 27th, I fell asleep early and woke up around 10pm - my water bag broke. My husband was a bit panicky than me as I calmly informed my OB as she advised for me to go straight to The Medical City.

11pm - I was in so much pain all the way to my lower back, so we went to the emergency room first so that we can use their wheelchair and assist me to the 5th floor's preterm labor room.

July 28 1am - My water bag broke before I was in labor, so they took me to the labor room wherein I had the most intense contractions of 1-2 minutes interval and 2-3 minutes duration. Even the residents that were monitoring me say that my contractions are too long, they can't imagine the pain I was going through.

They let me had light breakfast, but all I wanted was to sleep. I ate a cheese roll and drank water. Then my OB informed me that it's taking too long, so she told me unless I'm 5-8cm dilated, they'll need to do a CS operation on me because my baby's pulse was dropping.

7:30pm - No developments, my OB decided to do CS. I was okay of course, anything for my child's safe delivery. But I was so scared. Even my epidural went off to the last minute during my stitching after my baby got out so I felt everything. I tried telling them but I was too groggy and I had my oxygen mask on.

Our trials did not stop here, during our stay, baby Celestia Daenerys and I had to endure antibiotics thru our IVs because of my dry labor to prevent infection and such. After we were discharged and came back to my baby's pedia for a follow-up checkup, we were informed that she has Jaundice - the reason for the yellow skin and eyes. We had to re-admit her again for 3-4 days. There were no rooms available, so we had to put her in NICU. I had to visit her everyday for breastfeeding - but my pedia allowed us to do mix feeding because of my poor lactation. She can have formula while I'm away since I can't be with her 24/7 at the hospital.

Then this freaking weather - I was staying in Cainta at my parents during baby CD's first few weeks. Thus, I was stuck because the flood was all the way up to our waist. It took me 3 days before I can go home.

Thank God that our baby was normal on August 8, and I told my husband to take her home in our condo since the situation in Cainta was not improving. My hubby also took me home the next day when the streets are finally passable. I miss my baby so much.

We welcomed her last July 28th, she was around 2.8kg. Now, she's 3.3kg and still gaining weight.

Check-up and Packing for the Hospital

After the baby shower, my husband and I went to SM Makati a few days ago and bought more stuff for the baby that we will need to pack for the hospital. At this stage and my condition, we opt to organize our things early so that we don't fall into a panic stage like the last time during my premature labor at The Medical City. Girl scouts should always be ready! (but I am no girl scout though, hehe!)

We bought more mittens, socks, tops, burping pads, and bibs. I opt for a receiving blanket rather than a swaddle - it's similar and cheaper - especially if our baby will be staying more in the nursery. But I'm praying she'll be rooming-in with me more for breastfeeding. We also bought extra linens - can't resist myself from buying it because of the cute patterns - this is because it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland theme. In addition to that, we packed up the healthcare kit that one of my friends gave me during the baby shower.

I also packed things for myself like a pillow, blanket, button-up tops, robe, slippers, and other comfy stuff needed for my labor up until my delivery and going back home.

Today's the start of my weekly checkup with Dr. Calingo, my OB, since we're in the 36-37th week already. I really, really like her - she's super nice, kind, and caring like a mother.

I told her I've been having contractions-like pain again, so she opt to prescribe me Isoxilan, just like when I was confined last May. She told me to take it for a week, and let her know if I'm still feeling in pain. Lately, our baby has been moving so strong, even when my OB was trying to find her heartbeat. Before, our baby will only move in the evening and more during dawn. And now, she's moving even when I'm eating lunch or dinner, or when I walk, or even when I'm just sitting or trying to take my afternoon nap. I pray that everything will be okay up until the d-day.

I used my free gift certificate from Gonuts Donuts again as simple thanks to my OB and her assistant. Hubby and I also did our own takeout as snacks for The Avatar marathon.

Online Mommies

So yesterday, my husband and I went to Megamall in search of a clinic that can provide lab tests and to get a new Android qwerty phone since I really couldn't hang unto my previous touchscreen smartphone any longer. And this is because I'm suffering stiffness in my hands and feet all month long, thus, my bloated fingers cannot type that well into touchscreen, and I have too little patience to endure it any longer.

After getting my CBC and teasing my husband how he almost fainted at the sight of my blood being extracted, I met up with a seller online to buy his 2nd hand HTC Chacha. My hubby objected at these transactions, but I told him that I did a background check, and all's well. I saved half of what I'll be buying for a new one, besides, I'm not that rushing for a really awesome new mobile phone yet since I have a new priority - our baby girl.

With this, I have to change my old number that I had since college days. Yep, my sim card is that old. Not because I have a new phone, but because of buy and sell sites, a lot of strangers has been texting me even when my ads were already sold, or asking for non-existing items in my shop. I even got some texts asking me about a pink PSP, other weird electronic gadgets (like this energy-saving machine) and apartments. So, that's the disadvantage of having my number posted publicly.

On the bright side, my husband's amazed on what I can do over the Internet - even without a job, I'm able to manage to save quite a lot over buy and sell sites. We can even save up taxi fares by just buying our necessities over the Internet too. What can I say, most of us got jobs because of technology, so why not use it for more useful stuff?

I even found a site where I can do my baby shopping, it even says delivery is free! Lazada offers a lot other than my baby needs, and they're even cheaper than your regular mall prices.

I stumble upon another mommy blog while doing some parenthood searches, and even my friend recommended me to go to their event - Mommy Mundo is holding a big event for the mommies and daddies-to-be this Saturday and I can't wait to go with my hubby! I even pre-registered already!

Baby Stuff Galore

So our colleague friends gave us more gifts yesterday, so I was super thrilled to see them all. One of them gave us these super cute socks and shoes - I even told my hubby that Celestia Daenerys now owns a pair of pangbinyag shoes... if she ever fits in them since it was for more than 6 months old.

Another gave us these feeding bottles and baby oil - our baby's accessories and toiletries collection are almost complete! Except for the fact that I'll still continue to shop for our baby, not that I'm a compulsive buyer, it's just that every time I see something useful and on sale, who wouldn't want to buy them on the spot?

So what's up with me these days? Before, I was on total bedrest for my first and second trimester, so I wasn't able to cook much. But on my recent visit to our OB, she advised me that I can now move around and travel a little, so the first two things on my agenda was of course, shopping and cooking! Last night, since it was raining so hard, I loaded up on protein diet and craved for soup, so I made my own version of sopas:

Here's the ingredients & recipe:

- hotdogs, cream dory fish fillet, bacon, fresh egg, fresh milk, chicken broth. salt and pepper (the only items I can find immediately from our cupboard, so yeah, the macaroni and fresh vegetables are missing)
- cut up the hotdogs, fish fillet and bacon in bits and fry them in a small amount of cooking oil and low fire; the fish should be well done (or whichever you prefer); set aside
- using the same pan for frying awhile ago, fill in the milk (you can add water if you wish to) and chicken broth (preferably the one where you boiled in some chicken, but you can also use Knorr cubes)
- add up the hotdogs, cream dory fish fillet and the one egg, beaten - stir them altogether
- add salt and pepper to taste
- turn off the stove and add the bacons on top (this way, bacon is still crispy and not soggy)

I know it may be weird, but I'm pregnant, so yeah, I do tons of klutzy stuff. But trust me, it's delicious!

Celestia Daenerys Baby Shower

I'm not actually into the traditions, but I still love the idea of hanging out with family and friends, especially since I want to catch up with them during my almost nine months of being outdated in my group lately.

I was touched to see my close college friend, Cesz, although we weren't in the same barkada in college, she was my commute buddy, the one I can count on. Also, my Stalkerbugs family were there, and they enjoyed my mother-in-law's potato salad that Rocky had labeled as 'macaroni salad.'

A couple of months ago, I won thousands of gift certificates from GoNutsDonuts, so to save up money for our baby, we used this up and bought tons of their products from pizza, cookies and turnover pies.

I also had my hubby to get Ambers - my favorite Makati pancit malabon!

I was also thankful for our relatives across the border - giving presents for the baby, the outfits will last for a lifetime, so I might have our baby change clothes thrice a day!

I'm very thankful for my hubby and our family - they've always been supportive. Nothing beats this circle, thru thick and thin... so pray for the healthy delivery of our first baby girl - Celestia Daenerys!

Fresh Start: Being a Mom

Hi everyone! I was inactive for a few months due to my pregnancy - I left my work at Friendster and now leaving my old blog as well. I discussed this with my friends and my husband even though my previous blog was going so well, I felt like it was going on a more professional-looking and revenue-generating business instead of a personal blog. With this, I'll be saying goodbye to Veyaleecious, and I hope my blogger friends will still follow me on this new road I'll be taking as a mom.

Yes, I'm going to be a mom!

This is a 3D ultrasound we made last month of our baby, and she's already striking poses here and there, but most of our friends told us she looks more like her daddy. Oh well!
