As a Christian mom, I’m sure you know what your top parenting priorities should be.  But I, along with so many other moms I’ve worked with and talked to, struggle to focus on those priorities and worry that time with our children is too quickly slipping away.  How do we make time for what is truly important on top of all the other things we need to do?  How do we keep “the chaos of everyday life” from distracting us from spiritually training our children? What are your thoughts about Scripture memorization? I’m guessing it falls somewhere in this list: *I love it and we do it! *I think it’s important and I would like to do it but don’t know how or when! *I think we just pick up what we need as we read the Bible or hear the pastor preach on Sunday mornings. I absolutely love to find books that speak to a relationship between a parent and their child!  I think it is so important to talk about that bond with our children and what easier way to do that than through a book? I don’t know what it is about me, but I constantly evaluate books by one of three standards:  how can this book help me grow in Christ, how can this book help me relate to others and how can I use this material with my son?  I’m particularly thrilled when I find a book that meets all three standards in a positive way. The latest book I’ve read that has done this is Robert J. Morgan’s “On This Day in Christian History”.  This book, laid out in 365 daily readings is a great introduction to people, places and events significant in the history of Christianity.  We are transported over two thousand years of Christianity via stories, segments of historical documents and written personal accounts which add an air of authenticity to the facts.

  Through these daily readings I am learning so much about important historical figures and how they relate to the Christianity we believe and practice on a daily basis.  For instance, I always associated Martin Luther with the Reformation but had no idea that there

As  moms, we each have our own individual parenting style, don’t we?  What about your husband’s parenting style?  Is it the same as yours or different?  If it’s different, how do you react to that?
