Yesterday, I went to have lunch with Maddy at her preschool. The kids and teachers had prepared a special lunch for all the Moms in honor of Mothers Day. They had worked on preparing for it all week and the best part was when they sang a couple of songs for us at the end.

Some of you know that I work with video production at my church. It's always cool to see your work on the big screen... especially when your kids are in the video! Last night, the contemporary worship band had their annual "Come to the Cross" worship celebration. My friend and co-worker Patrick and I created this as a click track to go along with the song, and I thought it came out really nice! Of course, I'm probably a little biased... yes, that is Maddy in the video :)

We finally got around to importing the pictures from Jordan's Fisher Price camera. There were close to 700 pictures on there! Jordan and I sat down together and picked out some of them to include in this slideshow. She sat with me and watched while I put most of it together so this is our first real team effort. I enjoyed going through them and seeing from a childs perspective the things that were worthy of snapping photos of. Enjoy!

I realize Videoblogging Week '07 is officially over, but I didn't get a chance to post my last two entries, so I'm doing it late. Today we hit a very important milestone. We have been working on this for awhile now, but Maddy has been quite slow to learn how to deal with "#2". Today she finally got it! I figured since Trine did one of these, I would do one also! This is a very happy day for parents. So long diapers!!!

Here's some footage that I intended to post a long time ago and kind of forgot about. We were vacationing after Christmas in Myrtle Beach, and Maddy was having a pretend phone conversation with my brother (uncle Steve). They don't get to see him often, so I know this will mean a lot to him because I know he misses them.

She's a little mixed up on the lyrics of "I Love Rock 'n Roll"... but she has it straight now :)

First Pictures

Yesterday, was Jordan's birthday and we gave her a Fisher Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera. Everytime I get my camera out, Jordan wants to take pictures with it, but I'm a little protective of it because it's the only one I have. She took pictures with it for the rest of the day... and loved it. It definately isn't the best picture quality, but I wasn't really expecting it to be. The funniest thing was explaining to her that to her that she needed to take pictures of things that weren't moving so her pictures wouldn't turn out blurry. She got so frustrated when Maddy wouldn't stay still... finally understanding why I get so frustrated trying to get her to stay put!

These are the first pictures she took with it for the rest of the day. She was very proud that she helped me make a video :)

Don't Smile!

On our way home after picking up my mom from the airport today, we stopped at IHOP for brunch. Maddy was upset with us for ordering her a funny face pancake instead of the chicken fingers she wanted. She tried so hard to stay mad... but couldn't quite maintain an angry expression. I'm not really sure what kid wouldn't want a funny face pancake!

Trying out widescreen for iPod. Hopefully it'll work!

PodCamp Atlanta Recap

I will post a video eventually of all the random footage I took. I really am not great at taking photos and video during these events, so I don't have much to work with! Here's a photo I found on the PodCamp Atlanta flickr pool from our Meet the Vloggers panel on saturday.

All in all, it was a great weekend. Charlie and I and Chris Daniel hung out outside the main hall most of the morning. We talked videoblogging for a good bit and then eventually met the other panelists after lunch. Our panel, led by Ben Ramsey, went OK... but the 45 minutes we had was simply not enough. We ended up answering a lot of questions on the "hows" of videoblogging and very little on the "whys"... but I think that was only because we just didn't have the time. We talked a lot about Blip.tv too and how much we love it :) I got a kick out of hearing the other podcasters refer to videoblogging as "v-logging" :D

Grabbed some sushi on saturday evening with the Daniels and Ajit and Kelly from Squigglebooth. Went to First Baptist Church of Atlanta on Sunday morning and then off to Underground Atlanta to walk around a bit before heading home. We coincidentally found the Daniels roaming around there too!

The panel was recorded (video and audio), so hopefully I will be able to provide some links soon!

Lots going on!

I've had quite a bit going on in the last while, so again, excuse that lack of videos showing up in the feed lately! I just wanted to make a post and let you know about a few things going on with me.

First of all, I started a blog! That's right.. an old fashioned text blog :) I've actually never really had one of those before. I jumped straight to vlogging and skipped right over blogging and podcasting. Check out Kid Quotables. To some of you, this will just be another boring Mommy/family blog, but for those of you who are amused by funny kid stories, be sure to visit and subscribe!

Secondly, I've started a new project for my church. I recently joined our church's media team and have introduced them to the world of videoblogging. I've set up a church video podcast for them here. I'm really excited to be a part of their team, as I'm sure I will be learning a lot from them too!

Lastly, I've been invited to be on the vlogging panel at PodCamp Atlanta. If you are anywhere near Atlanta, or are willing to travel there, I'd love to see some more vloggers there representing! Registration is free, but space is limited, so if you can make it, go add your name to the registrant list here. Hope to see you there!
