When do I get paid?

GOOGLE 'll send your check or EFT payment within approximately 30 days of the end of the month in which your account balance reaches US$100, unless a payment hold exists or unless otherwise agreed to in writing (including electronic mail).
For example, if you earn $40 in January and $70 in February, GOOGLE 'll send payment to you by the end of March.
If your account balance is less than US$100 at the end of the month, GOOGLE 'll roll your earnings over to the following month, until the payment threshold is reached. Balances include the combined earnings of AdSense for content, AdSense for search and referrals. You can review the Life of a Payment diagram below for a more complete picture of the payment cycle.

How Do You Withdraw Your AdSense Earnings?

For non-us residents, you can choose to have your Google AdSense payments mailed to you via check in your local currency. Google AdSense offers this option in 42 countries. You can check with Google AdSense support center to see if your country is included in this list.

To withdraw your Google AdSense earnings via check, you need to set the payment details in your Google AdSense account. This is how you should do it:

1. Log in to your AdSense account and click the edit link near Payment Details.
2. Select Check – Standard Delivery radio button
3. Click continue
4. Select your local currency if it is available or you can select US dollars.
5. Click save settings.

After you’ve done all these steps, you are all set and you can withdraw your AdSense earnings via check and start receiving your Google AdSense payment by postal mail. You may also choose to receive your Google AdSense payment through Secured Express Delivery. Using a Secured Express Delivery incurs a fee. However you can receive your check faster than Standard Delivery. A Secured Express Delivery normally takes about 5-10 business days to be delivered to you. If you choose this option, you will need to contact DHL (the courier service) to make sure they offer service to your area and that your address is in the proper format.

When Can You Withdraw Your AdSense Earnings?

Google AdSense pays you approximately 30 days after the end of the month in which you become eligible to receive Google AdSense payment. You become eligible for Google AdSense payment only when your AdSense earnings reach at least $100.00. For example, you started AdSense in January and at the end of the month you had not yet accumulated $100.00 in your Google AdSense account. You would then need to wait for the next Google AdSense payment date. If your January and February AdSense earnings combined is more than $100.00, you would be able to withdraw your Google AdSense earnings for February. You would be paid approximately 30 days after the end of the month of February. You could expect your Google AdSense check near the end of March.

Another good reason to use AdSense for Search is that you get to combine the AdSense for Search earnings with AdSense for Content earnings. Rectangles, Squares, and Buttons are best used when placed inside a content area. This makes rectangles more difficult to place, but also gives then the best revenue potential.

What is the "AdSense formula for earnings"?
I often get asked what the secret is to making money with Google's AdSense program. This often comes from people who are dreaming of setting up websites chock full of high-paying keywords for particular niche subjects and then sitting back and watching the money roll in. "What's the magic formula?" they ask me. If they're non-technical, I point them straight to my first AdSense book, Make Easy Money with Google, and assure them that they'll learn everything they need from it. They may think it's hard, but it's not.But what about the technical people? By this I mean the people who've already set up a blog or website, who have registered domain names, who are comfortable with basic Internet terminology and concepts.

What is the "AdSense formula"?

The only AdSense formula that you need to know is this:

Your Earnings = number of clicks * average price per click

This is what I call the Fundamental AdSense Formula because you can derive almost every AdSense "secret" directly or indirectly from this formula. Do you want to earn more with AdSense? You have two ways of doing it:

* Increase the number of clicks, and/or
* Increase the average price per click
Your earnings will only go up if you do one or the other, and ideally both. It's an obvious formula, yes, but it's amazing how many people lose sight of it in their quest for increased AdSense earnings.

Increasing the Number of AdSense Clicks

Increasing the number of times the ads on your site or blog are clicked is the most obvious strategy. There are two general strategies you can follow: * Increase the traffic to the site, and/or * Adjust the ads to make them more "clickable"

Getting traffic is hard and takes time, so don't look at it as a quick fix. The best way to get traffic is to provide useful, unique content and to rank highly in search engine rankings for keywords related to that content. In other words, use standard search engine optimization techniques. DO NOT "buy" traffic or use "link farms" or other dubious techniques.
Other tips for getting traffic:
1. Publish articles, even free ones, with links back to your site. 2. Include a link to your site in the signature at the bottom of your emails or in any forum postings you make (if the forum allows it). 3. Participate in forums/groups related to the content of your site or blog. The key is to participate, not lurk, and don't just post messages promoting your site. 4. Add comments (relevant ones only, please) to other blogs, you can usually link back to yours. (This won't help your search engine rankings, but it may allow others who are reading those comments to find your own site.) 5. Syndicate your content (trivial if you have a blog) and make sure that the content is registered with syndication aggregators. 6. List your site in relevant directories. Adjusting the ads is something you can do almost immediately: 1. Position the ads on the page in order to make them more noticeable. Google even publishes a helpful heat map for AdSense publishers. 2. Choose the best AdSense ad format that works for your site. 3. Change the ad colors either to make the ads blend in with your site or to make them stand out. Again, it varies depending on the site.

Whatever you do, DO NOT ENTICE VISITORS TO CLICK THE ADS. Google is very strict about this, see the AdSense program policies for the details.

Increasing the Average AdSense Price Per Click

Increasing the average price per click you receive from AdSense is the other strategy for increasing your overall AdSense earnings. You can do this by: * Carefully targeting your content, and/or * Filtering out and avoiding low-paying ads Content targeting isn't just about creating relevant, unique content. It's also making sure that that content is written to target the higher-paying keywords associated with a given topic. This means: * Figuring out which keyword variations for that topic pay more. Often the more specialized variations and phrases pay more than the "generic" terms. * Ensuring that the keyword density of the content favors the higher-paying keyword variations. See the Vioxx Lawsuits page for an example of well-targeted ads due to appropriate keyword density. And to reduce the occurrence of lower-paying ads, consider these two strategies: 1. Use AdSense's competitive filter mechanism to screen out the ads that you don't want. 2. Show fewer ads on a page. The fewer ads you show, the more the higher-paying ads get displayed and clicked. Many publishers also report that their earnings increase if they remove ads completely from pages with few or no clicks. Again, the "less is more" strategy favors the higher-paying ads.

There's No Magic!

As you can see, there's no magic involved to increasing your AdSense earnings. The Fundamental AdSense Formula is easy to understand, but that doesn't mean it's easy to apply the formula. It takes time and effort to do it, just like most things.

Google AdSense is a Pay-Per Click (PPC) service. Webmasters are paid a portion of the revenue which Google collects from advertisers each time a web site visitor clicks on an AdSense advertisement.

Each click may pay anywhere from a few cents to several dollars. The average click seems to be worth about $.20. The more clicks AdSense advertisers receive from your web pages, the more money you make.

The Official formula for thinking about revenue from Google AdSense is:

Revenue = (Impressions * CTR * CPC)

The methods of increasing your revenue from Google AdSense are:

You can see above the Adsense earnings criteria and some keywords like Page impressions, Clicks ,Page CTR, Page eCPM and might get confused.! Dont panic! I am here to explain these keywords one by one in a simple way! Here we go ...

Page impressions/hits = how many time my page viewed ..! Page impressions are also referred to as hits.

Click = when one of visitors click on my ad.

Page CTR = click through Rate ( the percentage of people that clicked ).It is an indication of what percentage of people that view the ads, actually click on them.

eCPM = how much I earned for each 1000 impression !

The most basic method of increasing your number of impressions is to increase the traffic to your web site.

The topic of increasing traffic to your web site is beyond the scope of this article, and most likely something you are already working on.

One technique for increasing the number of Google AdSense impressions without an increase in traffic to your web site is to motivate your users to enable JavaScript. Google AdSense ads require JavaScript. Visitors to your website who do not have JavaScript enabled in their browsers will not see your Google AdSense ads.

To encourage your users to enable JavaScript, create content for your web page which is only available via JavaScript. Implement browser JavaScript detection in your HTML to notify visitors without JavaScript enabled that they are only receiving a portion of your available content.

Increase Click-Through-Ratio (CTR)

A small increase in Click-Through-Ratio can mean a large increase in revenue. A rise from a CTR of 1.0 to a CTR of 1.1 should mean an increase in revenue of 10%.

Several on-page factors can influence your Click-Through-Ratio. These factors include:

Ad placement
Ad color
Ad unit style
Total number of links

How to Increase Google Adsense CTR

We all want to increase Google Adsense CTR i.e. click through ratio, because the higher times the surfer clicks the Adsense ad, higher is the payout to you.

How to get higher CTR?

Post Adsense ads them on text rich pages and make sure that Adsense had a bunch of keywords to work with. Getting Higher paying keywords is better of course.
Learn how to get rid of public service ads, which pay you nothing for your efforts.
Avoid titles like the approved ‘Sponsored Links’ and ‘Advertisements’ above the Adsense ads. Why do you want to tell the world they are ads when google already puts ‘Ads by Gooooogle’ with them. These two terms are the only ones allowed by Google TOS. Any other terms will get your account terminated.

Best Google Adsense Placement to get higher CTR?

Place Ads above the fold, i.e. you dont have to scroll down to see the ads. Moreover it loads before your entire page does.
Provide lots of free space around ads so that they stand out and users know where to find them
Experiment by changing the location of advertisements. Track them by channels to see which location works. Sometimes they can do wonders.
Many experienced Adsense users have reported better CTR with vertical ads rather than the horizontal ones. But that really depends on your site structure.
Usually it is recommended to place towers on your right, as users tend to use the mouse to scroll the bar on the right side wiht a higher chance to see your ads. Some have reported doubling CTR’s by placing towers to the left rather than the right, as people have got bored of seeing ads on the right, it has something to do with the sidedness of the brain which I do not understand and there is a tendency to read from left to the right.
Many sites will have small ads in the top right hand corner, as they claim it is the first place where the eye sees.

Best Google Adsense Link Colors to get higher CTR?

Match the colors of your ads with the colour scheme of your site. Blending with your sites color profile helps to identify them not as ads, but as links similar to those of your site. The more the AdSense looks like part of your site, the higher CTR you will get.
Blend ads with your page - remove the borders by having a similar color as your background helps to show ads as being part of your site. Do not blend text or the ‘Ads by Gooooogle’ with your background as it is against Google TOS. However, such blending may not work for you always due to banner blindness. Neither do they see the ads, not do they click on them. So a contrasting ad may suit your site better.
Experiment by changing the colors, background of advertisements. Sometimes they can do wonders.

This cannot be emphasized enough. Good Seo is your starting point to any free advertising campaign. Before you even consider any other methods for free traffic, get your website user and search engine friendly. Put on quality content in line with the objective of your website. Make your content interesting, fresh and unique for the user and the search bots will come crawling. If word gets around that your content is great, webmasters may voluntarily link to your website. This one-way linking will increase your link popularity, search engine rankings and get you good free traffic. Ensure your site is well designed, your html is clean and compliant, your pages load quick and there are no dead links. Your users should be able to get what they want within three to four clicks. For example, if you have a website on growing roses, write an article that has something to go with growing roses. Submit your article to as many article directories and relevant websites as possible.

Forums

Every niche on the internet has a plethora of forums. Do a Google search and find relevant ones in your niche. Join these forums as member and contribute to the community by making useful and thoughtful posts. You are allowed to put your link in your signature line. This also counts towards your link popularity as search engines also index forum posts. Fellow forum members may also click on your link to visit your site. A word of caution – every forum has a different set of rules, especially when it comes to links. Make sure you read and obey them at all times. If you just go in and put up links, you will be banned almost instantly.

Link Exchange

The great granddaddy of free traffic, link exchanges are still very relevant and effective today. Make contact with sites that are in a similar niche as your own. Offer to exchange links with these sites. A word of caution – choose the sites that you link to very carefully. Avoid linking to spammy, black-hat sites with questionable content and motives. Make sure that these sites are not banned by the major search engines.

Newsletters

You not only need to get a continuous stream of new visitors to your website, you need to make sure you keep the old ones coming back all the time. The best way to do this is by providing fresh valuable content and by way of a newsletter system. Put in a newsletter subscription form on your site and invite visitors to subscribe to a newsletter that you can email to them either weekly or monthly. You can put some content, some special offers, ads and a link back to your site in your newsletter every time you email out. Also provide them with an incentive or reason to click on your link and visit your site. In this way, you remind your visitors about your website.

Submit to directories

There are many directories available on the web that allow ads or links free of charge. Some are general and some specialize in a particular niche. Choose relevant ones and submit your link or ad to them. Make sure you choose quality directories that are indexed by search engines. In this way you get a one-way link back to your site. Email this page

Another great, yet simple idea is to add an “Email this page” feature to your website. It’s a simple form where a visitor fills in the name and email address of another person that he/she wishes to recommend your site to. You set the form to automatically email a link to your website to that person. That person will then receive an email with a short message that says that so and so person had recommended that he/she visit your site, etc.

Be careful!!!!

Adsense has become very popular lately, people even refer to it as the new "internet gold mine". And yes, it is true that Adsense is unique and a very interesting way to earn money on the internet with one or more websites. Sadly, as with anything else new and popular, there are always an increasing number of scam artists that are monetising on peoples urge to learn. Together with the popularity of Google Adsense, a whole new breed of scam artists have been born - The Adsense Scammers.

The Adsense Scammers usually use some very intriguing ad copy (marketing text) on their websites, and tries to lure new customers in with screenshots claiming big Adsense income or big increases in Adsense income from a certain date and forward. The truth about most of these screenshots are sadly, that anyone can do such a screenshot - and then alter it in any graphics program like Adobe Photoshop. The image then reflects a very "coloured" truth, and this is possible due to the changes Google has made in its policies to allow publishers to disclose their earnings, but on the same time not to allow publishers to reveal impressions, clicks and ctr.

So what kind of products should you be careful about purchasing ?

The Adsense scam products can actually be categorised into the following:

1. "The BIG Adsense Secret" E-book.

Adsense Scam claim: Several websites claims to have the "unrevealed Adsense secret" that you simply can't live without! Usually it is claimed that these secrets will "skyrocket" your Adsense earnings virtually overnight. You can buy yourself access to this "untold information" for only $30-$100.

Adsense Fact: There are no secrets to reveal about Adsense. Anyone can earn with Adsense, and to improve performance read up on ad placement, ad colours, website content and website traffic. All this information is freely available here on Adsenseguide, and can also be found on various forums on the internet.

2. "Million Dollar Keyword Lists".

Adsense Scam claim: When you purchase a list of "fresh top paying keywords" you can literally skyrocket your Adsense earnings, simply by changing a few words on your pages. These scam sites claims that they have developed new techniques to finding these keywords, and that their members/customers are making a "killing" creating pages based on these keywords. It is not unusual to meet claims of people making $10-$20 per click using these lists. The Adsense Scam Keyword lists can be yours either on a monthly subscription from $20 per month, or for purchase for anything from $20-$200 per list.

Adsense Fact: Yes, you can improve your earnings per click by changing/optimizing your page content. However, the obscene claims of clicks that pays $10-$20 or more are nothing more then "clever" marketing in 95% of the cases. The reason is that Google (and the advertisers), are very selective about which sites that are allowed to display these high paying keywords. Usually, advertiser select to only show these ads on Google's search result screen, meaning that they never get displayed on publisher websites. The so called "new techniques" used to generate these keyword lists, are freely available to anyone interested, and only requires a bit of work on your part. Signup with Google Adwords, and then use the keyword sandbox tool to find a lot related keywords to your initial keyword idea. Then simply copy/paste the results into the traffic estimator tool at Adwords, and you will get an idea of the value of the given keyword.

It is crucial to understand that there are many factors that are at work determining keyword value and the actual payout. First off, Google will take its share of the click price (educated guesses is in the range of 30-40%). Then we have the earlier ad placement factor, advertisers might only want to pay high for ads displayed on Google's own sites, meaning that they will never reach your site. And then if the ad does get to your page, your visitors needs to click on the exact ad. The last factor I will discuss here is Country/location. Advertisers can choose to only display their ads based on specific regions/countries/languages. What this means is that they can choose to display their ads on websites that are hosted in i.e. Spain, with Spanish content, and are only interested in visitors from let's say Spain. So if one of these ads, does get served on your site for some reason, there are many factors that will drive the click price down.

Often the same keyword lists are sold on many domains, always claiming to be fresh and "unshared". So be careful not ending up buying the same lists more than once ;-)

3. "Automated Adsense Software".

Adsense Scam claim: This is one of my "favourite" Adsense Scams! Visitors are encouraged to purchase some "set and forget software" that will generate Adsense income on "auto pilot". Most of the software does nothing more then steal (yes, I said steal) content from sites through various scraping methods (reads a webpage and gets the content from it, or through rss feeds). All you will have to do is upload the script to your website, enter a few details and the script creates thousand of content pages - just waiting to put cash in your pocket. Each of these "unique Adsense cash scripts", can be yours for somewhere between $100-$1000+.

Adsense Fact: Scripts can be good to help you in the process of writing content (note: Writing). This is usually called CMS scripts (content management systems), and is a great way to create your design once, and from then on only focus on writing content for your pages in a simple web based text editor.

The "Automated Adsense Software" is basically nothing more then a very basic CMS system, but instead of you doing the content the script is configured to grab it from all over the internet. These scripts use many more or less sneaky methods of doing this, but the end result is the same - they are cluttering the search engines with duplicate and useless content. If you decide to use any of these scripts, you should be very careful for several reasons that are not so obvious to most people :

* You risk getting banned from Adsense, because you are very likely to violate the terms of "creating websites purely for Adsense".
* You risk getting blacklisted from the search engines, because you are using "scraped" content.
* You are likely to "turn on the warnings lights" at the search engines, because you have a new site with 1000's of content pages from day 1.
* Don't count on any visitors returning to your site (actually you need return visitors to perform well with Adsense), because they only find useless duplicate content.
* You often have little or no control of SEO optimizing the outputted pages.
* You are likely to getting yourself a "bad reputation". Your name is a "big asset" on the internet.
* You have no idea of what the script is doing, it could be driving traffic to other sites, stealing e-mails etc.

4. "Read/Listen - Learn to how I made thousands with Adsense".

Adsense Scam claim: Oh boy, this is another great Adsense scam category. By simply reading a short report or even a long e-book about Adsense, you will have an "arsenal of Adsense secrets" ready to bring in the big bucks. The first chapters are usually filled with general Adsense information, then followed by the "life story" of the author or a friend of the author. Then we arrive at the "juicy" part (usually only 1 chapter), that again and again describes how to position your ads, what colours to use, ad blending and perhaps you will even find a way to "Skyrocket Adsense CTR". Often these reports and e-books tells you to purchase this and that software, so that you have anything you need ready at hand. These Adsense reports and Adsense e-books are sold from anywhere between $9.95 and up to over $100. Lately it seems that these reports and e-books have "evolved" a bit, so that you now can simply listen to the author or even view a few "power packed videos" online.

Adsense Fact: The first thing that comes to mind with all these products are "Damn - this guy must be a nutcase!". He or she has found the "one and only Adsense secret" and is making a killing (see the usual attached screenshot). If they had really found the "big secret", why on earth would they share it with anyone else? Sure they claim to be a nice person, want to share information etc. The real fact is however, that 95% of these products are nothing less then created to scam innocent people like you to pay. Flashy e-book covers, income statements / examples - usually both Adsense screenshots/checks, affiliate checks, bank statements are all displayed with the only purpose of talking to your greed. It is not unlikely to find testimonials or statements from people worldwide like "John/Canada , Lisa / New York" etc. Adsense statements and testimonials like these are part of the sales page psychology - to make you think "wow! Lisa is from New York like me, and had never done it before - if she can then so can I!".

Often these products are "backed" by a 100% refund policy if you make no money using their Adsense tips and tricks. Great huh? Well, actually they can refuse to give you a refund at any time, because if you use Adsense - how will you prove that even a small increase isn't based on the information they "provided"?

Common Adsense mistakes

1. Never click your own adsense ads or get them clicked for whatever reason. You know this one very well. This is a surefire way to close you Adsense account. Never tell your office associates or friends to click on them. Keep a check if your family or children are busy increasing your income by clicking your ads and indirectly trying to stop your income. Dont even think of offering incentives for clicks, using automated clicking tools, or other deceptive software. Adsense is very smart to detect fraudulent clicks. Check the ads which appear on your pages by the Google Preview tool if required.

2. Never change the Adsense code. There are enough means of adsense optimization & customizations available to change the colour, background or border to suit your needs. Do whatever you want to do outside the code, never fiddle within the ad or the search code. They know it when you do. The search code has more limitations to colour and placement, but you should adhere to the rules. The code may stop working and violates the TOS.

3. Do not place more than 3 ad unit and 1 ad links or 2 adsense search boxes on any web page. Anyway, ads will not appear in those units even if you place more ad units. But this is the limit they set, so it is better to stick to it.

4. Do not run competitive contextual text ad or search services on the same site which offer Google Adsense competition in their field. Never try to create link structures resembling the adsense ads. Never use other competitive search tools on the same pages which have Adsense powered Google search. They do allow affiliate or limited-text links.

5. Do not disclose confidential information about your account like the CTR, CPM and income derived via individual ad units or any other confidential information they may reveal to you. However, you may reveal the total money you make as per recent updates to the TOS.

6. Label headings as "sponsored links" or "advertisements" only. Other labels are not allowed. I have seen many sites label ads with other titles. Dont make your site a target in a few seconds gaze.

7. Never launch a New Page for clicked ads by default. Adsense ads should open on the same page. You may be using a base target tag to open all links in a new window or frame by default. Correct it now as they do not want new pages opening from clicked ads.

8. One Account suffices for Multiple websites. You do not need to create 5 accounts for 5 different websites. One account will do. If you live in the fear that if one account is closed down for violation of TOS, believe me they will close all accounts when they find out. You can keep track of clicks by using channels with real time statistics. They will automatically detect the new site and display relevant ads.

9. Place ads only on Content Pages. Advertisers pay only for content based ads. Content drives relevant ads. Although you might manage some clicks from error, login, registration, "thank you" or welcome pages, parking pages or pop ups, it will get you out of the program.

10. Do not mask ad elements. Alteration of colours and border is a facility to blend or contrast ads as per your site requirements. I have seen many sites where the url part is of the same colour as the background. While blending the ad with your site is a good idea, hiding relevant components of the ads is not allowed. Also do not block the visibility of ads by overlapping images, pop ups, tables etc.

11. Do not send your ads by email. Html formatted emails look good and allow placement of these javascript ads. But it is not allowed as per TOS. You do not want impressions registering on their logs from any email even once. They are watching!

12. Keep track of your content. So Adsense is not allowed on several non content pages. But it is also not allowed on several content pages too. Do not add it on web pages with MP3, Video, News Groups, and Image Results. Also exclude any pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content.

13. Do not alter the results after ad clicks or searches
- Ensure you are not in any way altering the site which the user reaches to after clicking the ads. Do not frame, minimize, remove, redirect or otherwise inhibit the full and complete display of any Advertiser Page or Search Results Page after the user clicks on any Ad or Search results.

14. Avoid excessive advertising and keyword stuffing - Although the definition of 'excessive' is a gray area and is subject to discretion, yet Google adsense with correct placement, focused content and high traffic will get you much more income than other programs, so excessive advertising is not required. Keyword stuffing does target better focused ads, but overdoing it is not required.

15. Ensure your Language is Supported - Adsense supports "Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Danish, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, English, Polish, Finnish, Portuguese, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Hungarian, Swedish, Italian and Turkish". In addition, AdSense for search is available in Czech, Slovak, and Traditional Chinese. If your web pages language is not supported, do not use the code on such pages.

Don't Get Involved With Adsense Click Fraud- Google will ban you!

Imagine the next time you join a discussion about Adsense. When you start sharing the fascinating Adsense facts below, your friends will be absolutely amazed.

Is everything making sense so far? If not, I'm sure that with just a little more reading, all the facts will fall into place.

Many web site owners are getting their Google Adsense account terminated when they have done nothing wrong to deserve the punishment. Considering the money that they are getting from Adsense, they would certainly want to get back into it.

Considering the money to be made with Adsense, it is no wonder that they would want to get back into it.

It is that same consideration why the Google Adsense click fraud is thought of and why many people are getting into it.

Click fraud is the act of clicking on ads for the purpose of costing the advertiser money. It is simply the same as paying out cash for false leads. Many people website owners are aware of this fraud and are sharing the same sentiment that this is the one big problem that Adsense is facing.

How do you prevent being involved in this fraud?

Majority of web hosts are offering access logs. Once this is offered to you, it is necessary that you hand it over to Google as well. This allows them to look for any suspicious activity on your site. Problems like this are very serious and giving it to them is saying that you would want to help them in any way you can in solving the problem.

It can also help if you have a click monitoring software. If you do not have one yet, you should try and get one. There is absolutely no major factor preventing you from having one because most of this software is free.

As usual, all the information you have received should be turned over to Google. This is showing Google that you too are fighting against click frauds and is in no way a part of it.

Study your server logs and watch for any activity that seems suspicious. Report anything that you may find odd, may it big or small thing.

You may want to consider disabling ads for your own IP address and local geographic area. This will certainly prevent accidents and will not make Google mistake another user as you. You can do through a htaccess file. This will avoid Google mistaking as clicking on your own ads and be kicked out because of it.

Keep your Adsense off on pop ups and pop unders. Your ads should not be displayed on content sites that promote illegal activity or tampering of the legal rights of other people or business. Included in this are the content that is considered adult and gambling ones. If you think that you may be breaking this rule, immediately remove your content or Adsense from the web page.

Be truthful and confess up to Google about times when you might have clicked on your own as, whether accidentally or intentionally. Or the times when you have done something that is against the Terms of Service that they are implementing. Be honest about anything that you may have done that is wrong. Confessing is way better than Google learning about it eventually. It would mean eventual termination and no getting back what you have worked so hard for.

Do not tell your family or friends about Adsense on your website. Chances are they may start clicking on them to help you make money without you knowing it. They may be doing more harm to you than help by trying it in the first place.

If ever someone you know chanced upon your Adsense, make sure they understand that they cannot click on your ads under any circumstances. It would be wise to brief them on important things about Adsense and what not to do with them.

Most pay per click networks have different measures in hand to protect website owners against click frauds. Other search engines can track more than 50 data points, IP address, browser’s information, user’s session info and pattern recognition. They also have “systems” available that detects fraud. Not to mention the specialized teams monitoring how things are going and helping advertisers stop click frauds.

Google offers suggestion on how to avoid click fraud. Using “negative keywords” can be used to keep your Adsense showing on products and services that are in no way related to yours. Adding tracking URLs to your links so you can track the traffic coming from Google.

Do not be caught in the Google click fraud. Be aware and be wary.

Don't limit yourself by refusing to learn the details about Adsense. The more you know, the easier it will be to focus on what's important.

Google AdSense Account Terminated - What Should You Do?

Once you have decided to take your marketing campaign to Google’s AdSense pay per click program, you agree to a number of rules including:

* No hidden pages. You must have a clear hierarchy and each page needs at least one link to get there.
* No broken links. If you link outside of your site, make sure you check your links often. No more than 100 links per page.
* When designing your site, create one that is helpful to a user; don’t design a page for search engines. Make sure you clearly define what your site is about.
* Your TITLE and ALT tags should be precise and descriptive.
* You need a site map to help users find what they are looking for if your menu doesn’t.
* No hidden text.
* No redirection of your site

Even if you follow all these design rules, you may still be at risk of losing your AdSense advertiser account or have temporarily been fined a penalty in the form of your ads being removed from rotation on other sites. The penalty may go away with time, but it’s best to double and triple check your site then file a re-inclusion request (instructions below.) Include in your request which changes you’ve made and that it won’t happen again.

Your competitors might have a plan that could get you banned. It’s called “click bombing” and it’s against Google’s policy.

Click bombing happens when someone, be it a competitor or not, repeatedly clicks the pay per click ad for a business in order to raise flags with Google. Google rates their ads based on relevance, so the more an ad is clicked, the more relevant it becomes, and the higher up the list it moves. This has made it very easy for business owners to move themselves up the relevance list, so Google countered this practice by red flagging any business that has a significant spike in AdSense hits. If the hits all trace back to the same IP address or addresses, the advertiser is removed for “invalid clicks”.

Finding out about this strength in Google’s search engine, sneaky competitors have started to exploit it by purposely clicking the competitions ad again and again, in order to ban the ad.

If this has happened to you, or if you’ve been banned for violation of any of the design or technological terms of your contract, you can sometimes have it overturned by contacting customer support. You can contact Google support by visiting http://www.google.com/support/bin/request.py. Make sure you type “Re-inclusion Request” in the subject of the email. Keep your request simple, short and to the point. No need to threaten Google that you’ll stop advertising with them or list how long you’ve been a customer.

It is imperative, though, that you run reports frequently and store the data outside of your Google account. This will help prove to Google that a click bombing happened should you be removed. You are not guaranteed a reversal, however. In fact, most pleas to Google to have a banned account go unheard.

If you don’t get a positive response from Google, you may want to check out some of the other pay per click programs, like Yahoo! Publisher Network or the many affiliate programs online.

You must know and comply with the Adsense Guidelines on placing Google Ads. There are rules on where and how to place your Google Ads or Adsense Codes in your blog. You must comply with the guidelines to avoid being banned from the money making Adsense program.

So, after you have made your own blog and posted your blog articles, you are now going to place your Google Ads. I assume that you have already created your own Google Adsense account when you have read my previous post. If not, then create one now by clicking the Adsense button on this page.

After you've created your Adsense account, you must know where and how to place your Google Ads. Google Ads are the Adsense codes in javascripts format required by Google to place on your blog or web site to start making money online. In your Adsense account, if you click Adsense Setup, you will see Adsense for content, Adsense for search and Referrals shown as above.

Where to Place Google Ads

Where should I place Google ads on my pages?

The best placement for Google ads varies from page to page, depending on content. Here are a few questions to ask yourself when considering where to position your ads:

* What is the user trying to accomplish by visiting my site?
* What do they do when viewing a particular page?
* Where is their attention likely to be focused?
* How can I integrate ads into this area without getting in the users' way?
* How can I keep the page looking clean, uncluttered and inviting?

Certain locations tend to be more successful than others. This "heat map" illustrates these ideal placements on a sample page layout. The colors fade from dark orange (strongest performance) to light yellow (weakest performance). All other things being equal, ad placements above the fold tend to perform better than those below the fold. Ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page.

While this heat map is useful as a positioning guideline, we strongly recommend putting your users first when deciding on ad placement. Think about their behavior on different pages, and what will be most useful and visible to them. You'll find that the most optimal ad position isn't always what you expect on certain pages.

For example, on pages where users are typically focused on reading an article, ads placed directly below the end of the editorial content tend to perform very well. It's almost as if users finish reading and ask themselves, "What can I do next?" Precisely targeted ads can answer that question for them.

Though you may place your Google Ads anywhere in your page, it is stated in the Adsense Guidelines that you should not place Google Ads on blog or site with prohibited content that promotes or contains illegal activity or infringement on legal rights of others, such as the following:

Violence, racism, hate and the like
Porn, adult or mature stuff
Hacking or cracking activities and stuff
Illegal and prescription drugs
Gambling or casino-related stuff
Incentivize visitors action
Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords
Deceptive or manipulative content to improve search engine ranking
Weapons or ammunition
Beer and liquors
Tobacco or cigarette stuff
Imitations of signature or designer goods
Sale or distribution of term papers or student essays

Limit of placing Google Ads on each of your page.

Another important policy is the limit of placing Google Ads on each of your page. You are allowed to place a maximum of three (3) Ad units, one (1) Link unit and two (2) Adsense for search on each of your page. If you exceed the limit on your page, excess Google Ads will be displayed as blank or whitespace. That will not be a good view in your blog or web site.

You must also know that Adsense program prohibits to encourage your visitors to click on Google Ads. There are other important policies that you have to comply with, so you must read it and understand.

Just to recap, your website is up. Its on a topic you know something about. You've got a decent number of pages with good information. Your site looks good as you've put a little thought into designing it. You've even submitted your website to several search engines in order to bring some traffic to your site. And you do have a stream of vistors, right? Now you're ready to apply to the AdSense Program.

Curious to know what ads might appear on your website before applying? You can use the Google Preview tool. This easy tool allows you to right click on any web page and a list of AdSense ads will pop up!

Before going further, double-check to be sure that your website conforms with all of Google's Policies. If you need to make some modifications to your sites go ahead and do that first. Google does reject sites that do not meet their high standards so be warned. Some people live in mortal fear of rejection. My first site(not this one) got accepted the first time. Its not difficult-take your time, do it right, and get approved the first time.

My friend received a warning email from Google AdSense team on Friday,July 14, 2006. Google AdSense team found violations of AdSense policies on my website.

It was not an account termination email but my friend was still shocked by the email. He do not want to be kicked out from the program because he put in a lot of hard work promoting his AdSense sites using the right techniques. he tryhis best not to violate any of the Google TOS and policy. Google AdSense team informed us that they had found violations of Google policy on one of his website.

These violations on his website have nothing to do with invalid clicks or impressions. This could be the reason why he was not banned from the program. This also shows that Google does not simply kick people out of AdSense for small mistakes.

SOME USEFUL TIPS/RULES FOR YOUR WEBSITES :

Rule #1: Make sure your site or blog is on a subject you enjoy writing about and know something about.

It may be on a hobby, area of expertise, whatever! Perhaps its on how to mend a leaky roof, your trip to Patagonia, collecting art deco figurines, or how to create low-fat recipes. Now, I’m not taking about a one page website thrown up on the web, but a minimum 10 page site is a good place to start. Each page should probably be about 300-500 words on average to be on the safe side including captions, figures etc. Your content should be original. It is fine to conduct your own research on the web for inspiration, and write your content based on this, but do not copy anyone else's material! Also do not take anyone else's copy, change a few words here and there, and call it your own. Copyright violations are usually taken very seriously and furthermore, if your site is believed to be a copy of materials already published elsewhere on the web, you may be dropped from the AdSense program. But if your website is something you're passionate about, you shouldn't have to worry about coming up with good content on your own, and you should be able to churn out 10 pages in a couple of weeks.

There is a widespread practice of using free articles to build a website. Again, if your website is based largely on materials that have already been published elsewhere, your site may not rank as highly in the search engines or be accepted into the Google AdSense program. It is fine to use free articles, but do so sparingly and only when you feel it will complement existing content on your site.

Rule #2: Make sure your website or blog is on something that other people are interested in as well.

If you site is on some esoteric subject on which you are the sole expert, and for which virtually no market exists, such as 'Prison Ruins of Ancient Mesopotamia' or 'Molecular Biology of Parasitic Snails,' you may as well stop here and broaden your interests. Go on, google these two examples and see how many sponsored links show up. (This is another good way of testing how relevant your website topic is-the more sponsored links there are for your website topic, the more likely it is to be a suitable candidate for AdSense). Now I have nothing against ancient prison ruins or parasitic snails, but if you wish to monetize your website through AdSense, there needs to be a real market for the information you are presenting. Sometimes you will hit the jackpot by finding a 'niche' interest that no one has yet filled in the web ecosystem.

Many of the things people are most interested are illegal, or frowned upon. Google has made its own list of topics it deems objectionable which are not eligible for the AdSense Program(some of these are listed below). You cannot display AdSense ads on such websites.

Google does NOT accept websites into AdSense that include:

Excessive profanity
Violence, racial intolerance, or advocate against any individual, group, or organization
Hacking/cracking content
Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
Pornography, adult, or mature content
Gambling or casino-related content
Sales or promotion of certain weapons, such as firearms, ammunition and brass knuckles ; beer or hard alcohol ; tobacco or tobacco-related products; prescription drugs; products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods

How to Qualify for Using AdSense™?

Applicants must get thoroughly acquainted with the Program Policies. Then, check on site content requirements: theming, site design and additional advertising. Depending on the nature of your site, see if you know all about AdSense™ for blogs, forums, personal pages and image gallery pages.

Particularly the unofficial AdSense™ qualification requirements represent a matter of interest, for the official demands for site acceptance are common knowledge and are nothing extraordinary.

They mainly consist of the quality of the content (they clearly specify the topics of sites that are not accepted) and site functionality, and there are no strict criteria, such as minimum traffic requirements.

However, it's the first duty of any applicant for AdSense™ to get informed and keep posted with AdSense™ Program Policies.

The most frustrating situation is when you evaluate your site as acceptable, being compliant with the acceptance policies and still receive the “We're sorry” reply. If your site promotes exclusively your own product, you need not apply for AdSense™ as it can do nothing for your site, for advertisments on your main theme (i.e. the product you promote) will be ones of direct competitors. AdSense™'s filtering method will prevent them from showing, so... no ads.

Blogs & Forums

Some blogs or forums are not accepted. Still, information-rich ones are not just accepted, but work wonderfully with AdSense™ for their owners.

Initially, the idea was not to accept this type of sites. Site Length and Growth

The site should have at least around 15 pages to begin with. The longer a site, the more it is interpreted by Google™ crawler as relevantly-themed content. It is important that you keep enriching and improving your content and add more pages to your site over time, as this will not only keep visitors plugged into what you publish but it will work wonders for CTR also. Changing just a bit the “angle” of your content will bring new ads, may reveal new sides for an area of interest.

Site Theme

Keep the theme unitary and clear. A site about many topics that are not related to each other may result in Google's interpretation as not clearly themed.

Advertising

No excessive advertising, no banners. As a rule, AdSense™ does not allow advertising competing to its own, in any way (either by topic or by aspect). Even if it says it allows affiliate or limited-text links, keep these to a minumum, keep your site as "clean" as you can, for interpreting the meaning of “excessive” is surely subjective and can be deceptive. Blogs sell !!!!!!!!!!!!!! And advertisers have grown aware of this. Real blogs, that is. Blogs may be either gold or nothing for advertisers, depending on their popularity.

The first condition for a blog to become popular is to address a large mass of people by topic and rich content.

The second is dynamism. A reason why advertisers love so much blogs is that they have a large area of exposure by blogs' ever-growing, fresh content.

The third is good promotion. Feeds (RSS or Atom) spread out the word. These are the drivers of the system and make a difference from stalled content wesbsites.

Genuine blogs have what it takes to sell. Real bloggers become opinion-makers and niche influencers. (Here lies the superiority of blogs towards forums):

* They rejoice credibility from readers -- popular blogs gain the status of trusted source.
* They have the power of persuasion -- bloggers use argument and evidence to sustain their point of view. Recommendations from them are more likely to be granted attention.
* They impel to action -- blogs relate emotionally to the reader and involve the reader.

The other side of the coin is that blogging could be deturned by the purpose of making money, thus content could suffer. How far can one go in chosing a topic: just for the sake of blogging or to match an advertising target?

Brainstorming - I take time out each week to specifically come up with ideas to post about. While most of my posts ‘just come to me’ through my day to day rhythm - I’m a big believer in working hard on story ideas also and have a folder permanently on my desktop filled with text documents that have little else in them except for a topic idea and perhaps a few jotted down notes - all to work on later.

Archives - dig around in your own blog’s archives and you’ll be amazed at the opportunities that you’ll find. Look for half finished ideas, opportunities to update your ideas or even topics that your newer readers wouldn’t have seen before.

First you need to grasp and understand that the Internet is a big place. Several billion web-pages, and often with very little time available to the end-user, they’ll use several techniques to find what they’re looking for.

Search? Standard engines like Google, Yahoo and Live are the most popular nowadays, and optimizing your site to be found easily, can be easy and hard based on many factors.

My best advice for someone starting out would be to start by building quality content for somebody to see, then progressing to “The Three Cs”. This way, you’ll get noticed by genuinely interested people, who’ll actively want to play a part in your site’s development, by giving you quality feedback on ways to improve, design and usability.

If you have a blog or a website that’s been going for several weeks, perhaps a month or two, and you’ve done “The Three Cs”, or at least some of them, would be to start focusing on building on your existing content, with fresh, interesting, relevant and unique content. Note I say ‘relevant’ and ‘unique’. This is important. There are so many splogs out there now-a-days, that people can quickly distinguish whether an article has been written by somebody or not, at least the majority of the time. Relevance too, like I said, is a key factor. If you have a very personal blog, then one day write something completely off-topic about a new type of golf club that comes out, people will start to wonder if you and your blog actually have an aim or a purpose, which is yet another vital thing to consider.

If you’re somebody with a very mature blog, that is several months or more old, you can now focus on the technical side of things, which is mainly down to the spiders. If you’ve been blogging this long, then if you’re not on your own domain, or hosting, I recommend it, as it allows for greater flexibility, design and SEO. Search engine optimization? Yep! This also makes usability easier for feed-ready browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer 7. What's AdSense?

Google AdSense is the program that can give you advertising revenue from each page on your website—with a minimal investment in time and no additional resources.
AdSense delivers relevant text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site and your site content. And when you add a Google search box to your site, AdSense delivers relevant text ads that are targeted to the Google search results pages generated by your visitors’ search request.

Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Log in to your account

* In the Existing Publisher Login box, at the upper right of the browser window, enter the email address and password you supplied during signup
* Click Sign in
* Agree to the Google AdSense Terms and Conditions by clicking I Accept

Step 2: Generate your ad code

How Does AdSense™ Work?

Google™'s huge advertising system has two sides: on one hand there is AdWords™ — advertiser's playground — and AdSense™ — publisher's domain.

* Advertisers pay on a PPC or CPM basis (or both if they choose both forms) for Google to display their ads.
* Google places these ads on its keyword search result pages (relevant text-based results marked as “Sponsored links”) and on external sites that host Google ads (the ads appearing under “Ads by Google”).

1. The website owner signs in to the program.
2. Ads are placed on the website according to:
* AdSense™'s contextual selection and filtering criteria
* the publisher's options (the publisher gets to filter ads)
* the advertiser's option, in the case of impressions-based advertising (the advertiser can choose from a number of available sites)
3. The publisher receives an undisclosed share of the revenue from the ads.

AdSense™ is based on the PPC and CPM advertising payment models.

AdSense PPC advertisments are text ads that appear on your website according to its contextual selection and filtering criteria. When a site visitor clicks on the ad, the advertiser is charged a small amount, of which Google keeps some and pays some to the website owner.

AdSense CPM ads are text or image ads and are site-targeted. The advertiser pays each time his ad is displayed on a page (every time Google ad code is executed by a user's browser). The same, each time an impression is registered, a share of the money goes to the publisher. In this case the advertiser gets to choose the sites on which his ads will show.

Here's how things are going on in the backstage: Google™ centralizes the ads through AdWords™ and uses a contextual targeting algorithm for their placement, that is, sorts them out so as to place them on sites with specific appropriate content.

The strategy lies in the reasoning according to which surfers that visit a page might be interested in finding additional info or products on that particular topic. And it works if your website is good enough for the purpose. Your gain means having an attractive website and keeping visitors interested so they feel the need to go further and find out more by clicking on the ads.

From what I am reading in online forums and discussion boards, Google adsense is still ruling the roost, in terms of popularity, for those wanting to start earning money from home.

I personally, have Google adsense ads on most of my websites and I find that even with the lowest of daily impressions an income can be earned. Ok you won't make a fortune with a few hits per day but if you are constantly building websites and optimizing them for adsense then the income can REALLY add up.

A few of my most recent websites are only getting 10-20 impressions per day but really high click through rates. Some days I can earn $2-$3 per site for a couple of clickthroughs from these low traffic sites. This denotes HIGH interest from advertisers paying big bucks to Google for certain keywords.

Unbelievably, many entrepreneurs are earning six figure incomes per month from adsense revenue alone.

The smart earners are building site after site then building out the ones that show potential.

The idea is to set up sites in relatively unknown markets but also balanced with some interest in the advertising field. How Bloggers Make Money from Blogs?

I’ve long advised that bloggers seeking to earn an income from blogging spread their interests across multiple revenue streams so as not to put all their eggs in one basket.

The wonderful thing is that this is becoming easier and easier to do 2005 has seen many options opening up. I thought I’d take a look at some of the ways that bloggers are currently making money through blogs.

Income Streams for Bloggers

Advertising Programs - Perhaps the most obvious changes in the past few months have been with the addition of a variety of viable advertising options for bloggers. The most common way bloggers seem to earn money online is via the contextual ad program from Google - Adsense. Another two popular ones with many is BlogAds. A more recent addition that many are using successfully are Chitika’s eMiniMalls and CrispAds, Text Link Ads.

Adgenta, Azoogle Ads, Intelli Txt, Peak Click, DoubleClick Tribal Fusion, Adbrite, Clicksor, Industry Brains, AdHearUs, Kanoodle, AVN, Pheedo, Adknowledge, YesAdvertising, RevenuePilot TextAds, SearchFeed, Target Point, Bidvertiser, Fastclick Value Click and OneMonkey (to name just some of the options - I’m sure I’ve forgotten some) and there is a smorgasbord of options. Of course there is more to come with MSN Adcenter and YPN both in beta testing and with a variety of other advertising system currently in development (so I hear).

RSS Advertising - The past 12 months have seen some advances in RSS Advertising also. I’m yet to hear of any bloggers making big dollars through it to this point - but as improvements are made to the ad programs exploring this I’m sure we’ll start to see examples of it being profitable.

Sponsorship - In addition to the array of advertising programs that are available to join there is a growing awareness in the business of the value and opportunity that exists for them to advertise directly on blogs. I’m hearing more and more examples of this and have been fortunately to have a couple of ad campaigns of my own in the past month - one with Adobe a couple of weeks ago and another just completed with Ricoh for a new digicam over at my Digital Camera Blog. These are not isolated cases - as I say I know of many blogs exploring sponsorship with advertisers at present and suspect we’ll see more of it in the year ahead. Sponsorship is also happening on a post by post basis with some bloggers being paid to write on certain topics by companies - either in one off or a regular fashion.

Affiliate Programs - There are larger affiliate programs like Amazon, Linkshare, Clickbank and Commission Junction but also literally thousands of others from the large to the very small.

Digital Assets - Increasing numbers of bloggers have been developing other digital assets to support and add revenue streams to their blogs. By this I mean that I’m increasingly seeing e-books, courses and tele-seminars being run by bloggers. My recent foray into this with the first series of the six figure blogging course that Andy and I ran a few weeks ago and have just released the study version of. This type of activity will only increase in future - in fact this week I’ve seen numerous examples of bloggers running courses.

Blog Network Opportunities - with the rise in popularity of Blog Networks - bloggers are also being presented with more places to earn an income from their blogging - by writing for and with others. While it might be difficult to get a writing gig with one of the bigger networks - there are plenty who are always asking for new bloggers to join and who are willing to pay bloggers using a variety of payment models. While there are distinct advantages of blogging for yourself - blogging for an established network who will handle a lot of the set up/promotion/admin/SEO etc has it’s advantages also. More and more bloggers are combining writing for themselves on their own blogs with taking on blog network blogs as additional income streams.

Business Blog Writing Opportunities - as blogging has risen in it’s profile as a medium more and more businesses are starting blogs. Many of these companies have internal staff take on blogging duties - but an increasing number of them are hiring specialist bloggers to come on and run their blogs. I know of a number of bloggers who in the past month or two have been approached for such paid work. Check out Bloggers for Hire if you’re looking for this type of work.

Non Blogging Writing Opportunities - Also becoming more common are bloggers being hired to write in non blogging mediums. Manolo’s recent coup of a column in the Washington Post is just one example of this as bloggers are increasingly being approached to write for newspapers, magazines and other non blog websites. Along side this is the rise of bloggers as published book authors - this is to the extent that one blogger I spoke with this week complained to me that they were one of the few bloggers than they knew who didn’t have a book deal!

Donations - Tip Jars and donation buttons have been a part of blogging for years now but this last year saw a number of bloggers go full time after fundraising drives. Perhaps the most high profile of these was Jason Kottke of kottke.org who through the generosity of his readership was able to quit his job and become a full time blogger.

Flipping Blogs - Also more common in 2005 was the practice of ‘Blog Flipping’ - or selling of blogs. This has happened both on an individual blog level (I can think of about 20 blogs that sold this year) but also on a network level (the most obvious of these being the 8 figure sale of Weblogs Inc to AOL).

Merchandising - My recent attempt to sell ProBlogger.net T-shirts wasn’t a raging success, but it is an example of how an increasing number of bloggers are attempting to make a few extra dollars from their blogs by selling branded products through programs like Cafepress (although I have to say they’ve lost one of my own orders and are being quite unresponsive to my requests to follow it up at present). While I didn’t have a lot of success with merchandising - quite a few larger blogs are seeing significant sales - especially blogs with a cult following. I’m not at liberty to discuss details - but I know of one largish blog which will see sales over $20,000 in merchandise for the calendar year of 2005.

Consulting and Speaking - While it has been popular for established consultants to add blogs to their businesses we’re also starting to see bloggers with no consulting background earning money by charging readers for their time in consulting scenarios BECAUSE of the profile that their blogs have built them. Blogging has the ability to establish people as experts on niche topics and we all know the value of being perceived as an expert. I spoke to one blogger last month who charges himself out at over $200 an hour for speaking and consulting work - his area of expertise was something that he knew little about 18 months ago - but through his blog he’s become a leader in his field and a minor celebrity in his industry.
