Microsoft May Rename Live Search 'Bing': Massive Ad Campaign Planned Microsoft's new search engine is reportedly dumping its codename, Kumo, in favor of the brand name Bing. To get the word out, Microsoft is planning a massive advertising campaign to launch its new search brand. Bing's debut will feature a $80 to $100 million online, TV, print, and radio advertising campaign, according to AdvertisingAge. To put that number in perspective, Google's entire advertising budget for all of 2008 was $25 million, AdAge says. Microsoft is hoping a major ad push will take a chunk out of Google -- the number one online search brand -- in favor of Bing, the same way Microsoft's laptop hunter ads helped in its fight against Apple.

Google SEO: New Discoveries

Google says it makes minor changes to the search engine at least every week and now you can feel some of these changes too.

Google quickly modifies the search engine to avoid having webmasters and some enterprises to learn how it all works and then to change the results in a negative way.

One of the things you can see now that you could not see some time ago is that the content on the top of the page has more importance than the content on the bottom. In my article about Yotam you can see this perfectly. If you search on google for Yotam 2004, or 2003 or 2005 you can see the article in the top 1 or top 2, but if you search for Yotam 2006, 2007 or 2008 the ranking will be reduced. This can be not only because of the height of the placement of the keywords but also because of the amount of content around those keywords. The last Yotam dates have less content around it and that might be influencing the results as well.

You know if you run a small business you may like to think about getting your customers twitter accounts and actually using twitter to let them know of new items in stock.

Let's say you have a book store you could send out titles of new authors in stock on a daily bases.

Start Your Own Home Business Versus Buy Into A Franchise

When ever we think of a successful home based business we often think of the great business opportunities on offer through the purchase of a franchise.

You can just about purchase any type of home business opportunity if you have the knowledge and the resources to do so.

Depending upon what type of home business opportunity you want to get into is how you can decide whether or not a franchise is for you.

You also need to ask yourself if you want to abide by the franchisers rules or do you want to have complete control over your home based business opportunity? Can you start your own business opportunity from scratch? Do you have the knowledge and the resources to make it successful?

If you have a great idea for a home business and you get it off of the ground it is quite possible for you to franchise your business out and then become the owner of the franchise.

A catchy name and gimmick will work wonders for your business if you market it correctly. Always offer a valued service and give your clients/customers what they want. Word of mouth is a very powerful marketing tool if done correctly.

Buying into an already established business by purchasing a franchise is a great idea for some business ventures. You get the power of the franchise name to get you business. Leads are often supplied but it is up to you to make those leads repeat business and to grow your business. In some franchises if you grow your business you can add extra staff to cope with the growth. Thus making your own little empire within a larger empire.

Franchises vary in purchase price dependent on what you actually have to purchase to get the franchise off of the ground. An example would be a finance or book keeping franchise may be cheaper to set up than a carpet cleaning franchise as you do not need the van and equipment.

Franchises will also make sure your training is up to date in all changes to laws and regulations etc.

If I found a great franchise I would consider starting one. However I currently run my own business and it didn't cost me thousands to start up.

MoneyHomeBiz.com is now entering into a new phase. I have decided to go down the path of home business opportunities and how you can make money.

Let's face it we all have great ideas for making money but actually growing those ideas to fruition can take some time and patience. Some of us are patient and some of us are not.

There are some easy ways to make money from home like a garage sale, Selling unwanted items on ebay. It all depends on how much money you actually want to make and whether or not you want to make it a business.

I am going to start from scratch and let's see where it takes us.

Step 1 would have to be to clear out your work space. So if you want to start to work from home it is time to have a garage sale. Now my last garage sale saw me pocket over $2,000 in just a few hours. Go through your home and anything you have not touched in say 6 - 12 months then be ruthless and get rid of it. If it is something you think you may need when you start your home business then of course keep it.

By decluttering your home you also find that you help to alleviate stress. If you live in a messy cluttered place it is hard to think and be calm. You will find a nice neat environment will be better to work in.

Whilst clearing out all your old stuff have a think about what type of business opportunity you would like to go into. Think about what your passion is, what do you like doing, what do you enjoy talking about, what are you knowledgeable in.

Just a quick post. I was just surfing the web investigating possible ways of making your wordpress blog an article directory. Guess what there is a plugin for wordpress versions 2.3 and older.

If you visit articlesss.com to see the plugin in use and actually download it to. The appearance is very similar to an article dashboard theme but with the wordpress operating system.

There are a few changes which you need to do if you want to run the wordpress article directory plugin with your current theme like:

Installation

Installation of Article Directory plugin is a simple:

1. Copy the article-directory folder in WordPress plugins directory (…\wp-content\plugins\). 2. Copy the categories.css file in directory with your theme.
3. Activate the plugin through admin interface.
4. Add the following code in the index.php (or another file) of your theme:
5. Add the following code in the style.css: @import 'categories.css';

Steps To Being Successful - Part 2

In part 1 we discussed how staying focused was an important aspect of achieving success. But how do we know we have actually been successful. Besides the obvious we will have lots of money, wealth, health and happiness are usually what people class as being a success.

How do we actually achieve success? If everything could be so easy. You need to set goals. It is both as simple and as complex as that. If you want to be the head of a company then you need to work out the pathway (goals) you need to achieve that position it may involve doing some training and developing etc.

Once you decide what is the end result of what you want to achieve you then need to site down and write out a pathway to lead you to the end result. this needs to be done in little steps. You need to set yourself achievable goals to reach along the way. Just like you do in weight loss, if your goal weight was 40kgs or 120pbs from your starting weight you would need to set achievable points along the way. Like by next month lose 10pbs and by Christmas lose the entire weight. So what are your goals for this. You would need to work out what calories you would need to have per day, exercise and keep a diary on how you are going and celebrate all the achievements along the way.

This is exactly the same for being a successful business person. whether you are self employed or working for a company the same system needs to be in place.

Have you ever noticed how the same people day in day out just stay in the same jobs year after year and just seem to be happy where they are. I am sure some of these people are happy to just plod along and probably consider themselves to be successful as they would use there own meter to work out if they are successful or not.

To give you some idea of the sorts of goals I set myself and how I consider whether I am successful or not is easy. I have long term and short term goals. The short term goals will deliver my end result of the long term goal. Currently I am concentrating on paying off my mortgage. I have decided what I need to do short term and what I need to do ongoing to achieve my goal. I do not waiver from my goals. I stay focused on achieving each little goal along the way. I have monthly goals of what i want to pay off each month, I have 6 monthly goals of where my mortgage needs to be every 6 months. I then have a yearly goal. To date I am blitzing my goals.

When you set your self goals in this way it is extremely rewarding when you achieve each level of your goal. A short term goal which is constant either daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly that can be achieved if you stay focused is extremely rewarding and if you stay focused on these goals and then your long term goal will come in and you will feel so proud of yourself.

To work out what your goals are sit down on your own first in a quite place and just list all the things you want or want to do. Then work out which ones are a priority. Once you have your priority then set into motion the steps you need to take to achieve that goal.

It is really good as a couple to also set down a list of goals to achieve. My partner and I do this every new years eve. We sit down and go through our list of what we want and how will we achieve it. This has been most rewarding. we have achieved so much and people consider us to be so rich but we aren't we just stay focused and achieve our goals.

I hope you can take a bit of what I have said here and create your own success list. work out what you want or want to do and then work out the steps (short term goals) you must achieve to get what you want.
