As I've said in the last post, Google Adsense is a great tool for making money online. Although for newer blogs (such as this one), it can be really hard to build up some traffic. My recommendation? Google AdWords. I know I mentioned it on the last post, but I feel as though I should go in depth with what Google AdWords really is.

We all know that Google is the king of search engines now-a-days, and most people only see Google as merely a search engine. Little do they know it can be one of advertiser's greatest tools of their trade. Before I go into detail about AdWords I want to explain how a search on Google works. When a user types in something into the search box and presses "Search", Google sends out search "spiders", these spiders dig through thousands of sites in a matter of seconds searching for sites that boast the keywords the user typed into the search box. What gets displayed one the first few pages of the search results depends on a number of factors and algorithms, so it's safe to say these spiders might leave a fairly new blog out of the front pages.

Thats where Google AdWords comes in. Bloggers buy ads based on keywords, and Adwords place those ads as "sponsored" links on Google search pages and sites that use Adsense. Bloggers can also choose to put these ads up through Google partners such as AOL, Netscape and Ask.com. Very easy to use, highly recommended for any newer blogs looking for fast traffic.

Remember that there are only three ways to get to a website

Using a search engine
Via link from another site or domain
By direct navigation. (Typing URL into toolbar)

So to maximize the amount of traffic you get to your site or blog, here are three things you can do to drive traffic through each of these means of online navigation:

Use keywords that will drive your rating on search engines to the top of the list (or sign up for AdWords)
Use social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter to drive traffic towards your sites. (or again, use AdWords)
Develop loyal readers and visitors to your blog by keeping content fresh and relevant.

Now that you know this you can try starting up a blog of your own, be sure that it is something you are passionate about and something that you can write about often.

On another note, many people dislike Google Adsense because of their strict policies and unexplained bans on some successful bloggers. So here are some great alternatives that you can also check out if you feel Google is right for you:

Yup, you read right! Blogging can get you some well deserved cash flow, if you know what your doing, that is. So let me introduce something you might already be familiar with: Google Adsense! Adsense is a great way for online store owners and bloggers alike to gain some revenue from there website/blog.

Some key tips to maximize your cash flow:

Keep your topic the same throughout your site. In other words, if your sites about stock market tips, don't ramble on about how your dog is the cutest dog ever. Stay on topic people!
Help your ads stand out by experimenting with different colors, borders, fonts, and positioning
Utilize tools like Google's Website Optimizer and AdWords (<-- a paid service but so worth it!)
Don't make your website seem all bunched up, space it out a bit.
It's been reported that ads placed on the right side in the "skyscraper" format get the most clicks
Don't be afraid to increase the value of clicks, use keywords that rake in the dough faster than the others
Continue to update your site and keep those posts coming!

Think of it as renting space on your site. Advetisers are looking for relevant sites to place their ads. So they have Google look through these sites and find the perfect match between publisher and advertiser. The ads get placed on your site and every time someone clicks on one of these ads, you can feel a few cents (or maybe a bill or two) fall into your pocket! What does that mean? Easy. More traffic, more clicks. More clicks, more money.

*NOTE: Never under any circumstances click on your own ads. It is considered fraud and your account could be banned!

Start An Online Business

With the creation of the Internet came a huge change in the way many companies conduct business. Some companies have risen from an internet based business, to a more "flesh and bone" company, such as Dell (transitioned to opening up physical shops) , the reason they do this is well known to every businessman: it cuts costs, which means more money in your pocket! Starting a business is easier and cheaper than ever before! Before the internet, store owners would have to select a vacant location to set up shop, once they found an area that is filled with potential customers they decide to set up there. That would be perfectly fine, except for one thing: all the expenses that come with purchasing a vacant store.

There is rent, utilities, insurance, inventory, salaries, a chance for the store to be robbed! Almost all these expenses have been cut dramatically when business-owners switched from physical stores to an online store. Monthly overhead costs for a physical store average to about $16,000 were as online stores average $2500. Big difference right? So next time you consider starting a business look into setting up an online store before you find yourself spending a lot of money that can be kept in our pocket!

There are a few ways to go about starting your own business online. Here are some business strategies I've seen occur quite often:

- Make your own product and sell it yourself

- Make your own product and find a third party to sell it and take orders

- Make your own product, take orders yourself, and find a third party to sell it

- Buy someone else's product, then sell it to another customer for a higher price

Remember that when it comes to online business (and pretty much every business) there are a four key things that require effort on your part:

1) Making/Obtaining the Product
2) Selling It
3) Fulfilling The Order/ Customer Service
4) Collecting the Money

Depending on the product and how much effort you put into each one of these key concepts, you can make a substantial amount of money without even really having to leave your couch!

Imagine this scenario for me, your friend is looking to sell his car. You decide to strike a deal. You tell him that you will sell his car, but you will keep all the money above his/her asking price. They agree. You take a picture of the car, post it online, and sell it for an amount that is higher than your friends asking price.
Your friend is happy because they got the money they wanted, your happy because your profiting from the sale, and the customers happy because they got the car they wanted. YOU CAN DO THIS WITH ANY PRODUCT, ANY SUPPLIER, OR ANY IMPORTER WHO HAVE INVENTORY THAT THEY WANT TO MOVE.

Here is a good exercise many of you can try at home:

1) Take some digital photos of say 20-50 different products that you think might sell well (Clothes, watches, jewellery, cars)
2) Note the costs and how much inventory the importer/ wholesaler has available (VERY IMPORTANT)
3) Write ads on your site that inform possible buyers of your "new found inventory"
4) Post the items on Ebay, Craigslist, or any other online sales outlet
5) See which products sell and don't sell
6) Collect the money
7) Fulfill the sale
* Repeat these steps for all products that sell well

People dont care where the product comes from, as long as they recieve the product they paid for they are perfectly happy, so why not play the middle man and get your cut in on some of that cash?

So Remember: Manage the Site, Sell the Product, Take Orders, Handle Customer Service, Watch The Money Come In!

"The Power Of Money Can Change Any Man..."

You want to make money right? Trust me we all do, but most people roaming the internet are looking for a "get rich quick method". Trust me, I've done lots a searches and tried out plenty of those "legitimate" sites only to have my pockets remain empty at the end of the month. I can honestly tell you that making millions off the internet is highly unlikely, hell, you probably have a better chance at hitting the lotto. But unlike scratching off cards and betting on numbers, you actually have some say in your quest for financial success. It won't be easy, but hey nothing comes easy these days right? So take some time, read on through my research that I've been gathering up for what seems like years now and start actually taking some REAL steps towards making some REAL money! So whether you need to pay some bills, home repairs/projects, stuff for kids, the wife, the dog, or just want some extra money to spend on yourself, I'm here to help you get there, because I was (and still am in a way) in the same boat as you.
