Diesen Donnerstag (6.6) kommt die wunderbare EMMA MCKENNA ins GAYHOLE!! Wir freuen uns sehr, ihr Konzert hier im Ronsons anzukündigen! Die Singer/Songwriterin aus Toronto begann ihre Karriere mit Katie Stelmanis und Maya Postepski (von AUSTRA / DOMINO) in der Band GALAXY und macht seitdem eine Solokarriere. Ihr zweites Album - THE MIGHT - wird diesen Sommer veröffentlicht, und bevor sie demnächst mit AUSTRA auf Tour geht, spielt sie ein kleines Konzert bei uns, bei GAYHOLE!

Begleitet wird sie von Jon Dark, von KOOL THING! Seid die ersten dieses wünderschöne Duo zu erleben bevor sie auf Tour gehen! Wir freuen uns sehr drauf !!

Jeden letzten Donnerstag des Monats** kommt SHO MO THE BEARDED ins GAYHOLE und spielt Klavier live in der Elvis Kabine, damit ihr ihn Cabaret-style akkompagnieren könnt! Das wird uns nicht so leicht fallen, die vergangene Woche im Ronsons zu toppen: es war schon wieder ein ziemlich EPIC GAYHOLE am donnerstag mit Johnny Ballantine, ein FIERCE FRIDAY mit Fenek, und vor allem ein absolut HAMMER GEILE EUROVISION PARTY am Samstag!! Ausserdem Hllywd und Crackbaby haben LIQUID BRUNCH bzw MultiSEXual BOXhopping gerockt! Ich liebe Frühling!

Aber nun wirds HEISS. HEISS UND SWEATY. SO SWEATY, das wird SVETI!! Und zwar 3 x SVETI!! DIESEN DONNERSTAG popped SVETI ihr GAYHOLE-CHERRY!! Die Eröffnung des GAYHOLES war EPIC. Für alle, die sich nicht getraut haben darein zu schauen, die zu schüchtern waren, oder dachten, die Party sei ausschließlich schwul oder nur für Männer (ist ja gar nicht der Fall)... da habt ihr was verpasst! Und zwar zu den vielen anderen Spielereien gehörten auch nackten Rugby Spieler auf der Tanzfläsche! Aber keine Sorgen, das GAYHOLE ist jeden Donnerstag ab 22 Uhr geöffnet. Und traut euch ruhig - das ist nicht so bedrohlich wie's sich vielleicht anhört, und alle sind willkommen: Frauen, Heten, Homos, Trans, Bi, Asexuellen, usw... bloß keine Homophobs! Zumindest sollte man unsere Plakate im Männerklo bitte in Ruhe lassen! :-P

Jedes Karaoke Monster kennt die bedauerliche Geschichte: es ist Freitag abend, und nach der langen, anstrengenden Woche will man nichts anderes als sich austoben auf der Bühne in der Karaoke Bar. Vor allem hat man sich auch die ganze Woche drauf gefreut, denn es gibt einen neuen Song den man heimlich zu hause auf YouTube geübt hat. Und nachdem man seine Freunde überzeugt hat mitzukommen - obwohl sie angeblich "nicht auf singen stehen" (wer sagt denn sowas??) - und endlich mal seinen Songzettel abgegeben hat - wartet man erstmal. Und wartet dann länger. Und noch ein bisschen warten, denn der Club ist brechend voll und alle wollen singen (inklusive deiner Freunde... die ja gar nicht drauf stehen...) Und du wartest und wartest, und fragst den KJ "Wann singe ich denn?" Und sie oder er verspricht dir: "Du bist ganz bald dran!" Aber eigentlich sollten sie sagen: "Du kannst ja die ganze Zeit singen!" Man kann die ganze Zeit mitsingen, denn hier gehts nicht um "Jeder für sich und KJ gegen alle!" sondern "SING TOGETHER, FIGHT THE POWER!" Am besten mehr trinken und einfach vergessen dass man einen Zettel abgegeben hat, und dann wenn man plötzlich aufgerufen wird, ist es eine tolle Überraschung!:)

Ausserdem ist ZUSAMMEN TANZEN immer eine gute Art und Weise die Zeit zu vertreiben, während man auf seinen Song wartet - und dieses Wochenende gibt es sowohl am Freitag bei dem SING & SWING SPECIAL als auch am Sonntag bei dem SWING-TANZ DJ-SET vom KÄPT'N den perfekten Anlass zu tanzen! TEDDY, the official queer award at the Berlinale film festival, is teaming up with queer-feminist music platform Expatriarch to present the first European edition of MATTACHINE, the dance party DJed by director/actor John Cameron Mitchell and his 'Shortbus' stars Paul Dawson and PJ DeBoy. MATTACHINE also serves as a warmup for the following night's massive TEDDY Award ceremony, where the three New Yorkers will also be appearing.

This Valentine's Day marks the fifth anniversary of MATTACHINE's birth at New York City's oldest gay bar, Julius', the very dive where members of the Mattachine Society – the country’s first gay-rights, post-pinko, pre-Radical Faerie organization – demanded a drink in 1964 to fight against the city’s “no service for known homosexuals” law. If not for their “Sip-In,” there wouldn't have been a Stonewall. Now, half a century later, those men are honored once a month by scores of fancy-dressed folks careening into each other's arm to the songs of queer yesteryear and beyond. Like John says, “ALL music is dance music!”

MATTACHINE continues to pack 'em in at Julius while spreading the love elsewhere (Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco, L.A., Portland, Seattle, Austin, New Orleans...). Now John, Paul and PJ are bringing the action to our wicked little Stadt, joined by local transgenre DJ Joey Hansom, host of Expatriarch Radio. Expect an eclectic mix of funk, rock, new wave, pre-internet dance music, and for the Valentine's Day lovers, some slow dance numbers.

TEDDY, the official queer award at the Berlinale film festival, is teaming up with queer-feminist music platform Expatriarch to present the first European edition of MATTACHINE, the dance party DJed by director/actor John Cameron Mitchell and his 'Shortbus' stars Paul Dawson and PJ DeBoy. MATTACHINE also serves as a warmup for the following night's massive TEDDY Award ceremony, where the three New Yorkers will also be appearing.

This Valentine's Day marks the fifth anniversary of MATTACHINE's birth at New York City's oldest gay bar, Julius', the very dive where members of the Mattachine Society – the country’s first gay-rights, post-pinko, pre-Radical Faerie organization – demanded a drink in 1964 to fight against the city’s “no service for known homosexuals” law. If not for their “Sip-In,” there wouldn't have been a Stonewall. Now, half a century later, those men are honored once a month by scores of fancy-dressed folks careening into each other's arm to the songs of queer yesteryear and beyond. Like John says, “ALL music is dance music!”

MATTACHINE continues to pack 'em in at Julius while spreading the love elsewhere (Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco, L.A., Portland, Seattle, Austin, New Orleans...). Now John, Paul and PJ are bringing the action to our wicked little Stadt, joined by local transgenre DJ Joey Hansom, host of Expatriarch Radio. Expect an eclectic mix of funk, rock, new wave, pre-internet dance music, and for the Valentine's Day lovers, some slow dance numbers.
