The second largest bank in the nation, IndyMac was just seized by the government last week and thousands of people lost tons of money. And of course, as soon as the bank was seized, I heard from a ton of clients and friends about whether or not they should continue with their plans to buy a home in the Santa Barbara real estate market.

I know that these times are scary. Many people stress about the economy these days, but the truth is, the best investment you can make right now is in a home. If you can afford to buy a home, then take advantage of the slow market and buy. Home prices are at the lowest they have been for years, so you can get far more home today then you could 5 years ago.

The other reason investing in Santa Barbara real estate is smart right now is because it is one of the safest investments you can make. When you buy a Santa Barbara home, your money is safely tied to that investment – and since prices are low, you can be more confident that your home will grow in value then those that bought a few years ago.

When you invest your money in Santa Barbara real estate you don’t have to worry about loosing your money in bad bank deals.
