Olivia had on plenty of cute outfits last night on The City, but my little eyes popped out over her ruffled open jacket. Joe Zee tells her she looks great and she comments that it is from the 20's. Gorgeous piece and I loved the way she(someone on the show?)styled it.

I discovered photographer Wendy Bevan's work via Sally Jane Vintage. Her photographs have a vintage dream like quality to them.
I'm beyond inspired by this editorial, the images looks like movie stills. Can you imagine how beautiful that film would be?

I think Demi Moore looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G in the December issue of W Magazine. The photos look like they have had some tweaking, but I got to see her in real life and she is beautiful.
A member of TFS mentioned that Demi looked like a 70's Vogue cover model in this picture and I couldn't agree more. I think it is my favorite of the group.
Why couldn't I have been born with hair this color? I'm itching to dye mine dark brown.

Somehow I always wind up shopping by themes. This week it is going to be dark velvet, more shine and sheerness. The problem is that my closet is screaming for mercy. I've been tossing around a couple of ideas of what to do, because I'm not happy with any of the sites available right now to host a store, and I don't know how to build my own.
I have another idea that has been brewing for a while, but trying to figure out how to make it work. I'll keep you posted as soon as my brain works faster;)
1. 1980's black silk tunic top with silver sequin design. 2. Vintage Christian Dior sheer bodysuit with velvet one shoulder design.
1. Vintage Oleg Cassini top. The paillettes look like feathers on a wing drifting down your back. 2. Vintage Chaus velvet jacket. This is "outlined" with a matte black trim that makes the black pop.
1. Vintage velvet open jacket with puffed sleeves. It reminds me of the the Mise en Scene By Ruffian jacket at Anthropologie.
As you can see I need to take photography classes. To my credit solid black is really hard to photograph! This is a 1970's velvet dress with the standard gathered elastic bust. One of the straps needs to be sewn back on but I loved the romantic silhouette.

I love his conservatory, which is decorated with a lucite table, dark brown sheepskin and pillows from John Robshaw.

Mr. M and I have talked extensively about taking a trip to Buenos Aires. While there, I'm requiring that we take a side trip to Los Alamos, an estancia located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Have you heard of it?
In 1926, artist Susana Bombal began working on rebuilding Los Alamos, a home she inherited from her grandfather. He had resided there with his sons after the Mendoza earthquake claimed the lives of his wife and daughters. It also became a haven for European immigrants, who were being attacked by Native Indians, upset their land was being encroached upon.
In the same spirit, Los Alamos became an artists and writers retreat because of Susana. Going through the guests books, you will see the likes of Picasso, Gandi, Charlie Chaplin and Jorge Luis Borges. The estate is still owned by members of the family, and thankfully they have opened it up to the public.
It is now a boutique hotel with seven bedrooms, surrounded by gardens and a pool. The rooms all still bear Susana's touches, including pieces she collected. It is akin to a museum, with original manuscripts, journals and art work from that time period on display.
The room above is my girlhood dream of a bedroom come to life. The mural was done by Hector Basaldua, and Susana acquired it from Harrods in Buenos Aires. She found the art nouveau iron beds at a Paris flea market.
I'm dying over the studded, destroyed leather chairs. Dying. I would also love the original wall hanging of an angel by Norah Borges.
More print, more textiles and gorgeous bed frames. The art hanging above the beds is by Eduardo Hoffman.
Photo of Susana on her wedding day, so beautiful. She also kept guests books, which showcase drawings and letters from artists that dropped in.
How amazing is the mirrored wardrobe in Susana's bedroom? It came from Paris, and there are framed pictures of fashion plates from 1861.

Susana's study on the left, which as a floor made from Peach wood circles. The bronze portrait of Susana was done by Coco Quiroga. Images of Susana and writer Borges are in the image on the left. They had a 40-year friendship that was said to be only platonic.

Her 1960's home was cobbled together from vintage pieces and discarded items. I love that almost every room is filled with art by local artists and family friends.
