How to remove Candle Wax- Candle Tip!

So you have burned your votive in its glass holder and now the candle is stuck. You have tried everything other then trying to carve the candle out and it just won't budge? What should you do?

Luckily there is a super easy trick! Just place the holder & candle into the freezer for 5 - 10 mins. It really only takes that long. Take it out, turn it upside down and viola it pops right out with no fuss!

This trick also works wonders for tars & melts in a warmer. As long as the warmer bowl can go into the freezer it will then easily slide out.

It is very important to wait until the candle has completely cooled before moving it or placing it in the freezer!

And always wait a while until the holder has reached room temp before burning another candle in it. Burning a candle in the glass holder before it has warmed up could cause serious safety issues.

Simply put, I love candles. A candle can be such a versatile item where the different types and uses are limited by imagination (and safety lol).

I love that you can use them for decor as a center piece or to bring a corner to life. To fill a room with a soft warm glow that can be relaxing or romantic. Used for purpose and focus in meditation and prayer. And ofcourse the lovely scents that spark memories and shift an entire room to something more lovely.

I have used candles for almost my whole life. So many different types, shapes, colors and scents to choose from and I think I have tried them all!

My love for candles is definitely one of the biggest reasons I started making them myself. The other reason was that I liked the idea that they were not some mass produced product. It was made by someone with their own hands, energy, passion & inspiration.

Candle making can be alot of work. It requires delicate mixing of a formula. Alot like baking you need to mix all the ingredients just right to create something magical and perfect. I have alot of fun doing it; playing with different scents and color combinations, trying to think of unique fun ideas, and watching it go from a pot of melted wax to a solid wonderfully scented candle.

Inspiration....

I get inspiration all around me. I try to focus on what I like to use the candles for, its purpose & intent. I enjoy smaller candles that look lovely as they burn all the way through. Votives and tealights are perfect for a quick and easy burn for whatever my need. I love tarts and melts for a safer & great scent to fill my home. Plus they are just so cute and little. Container candles are great for taking with you and floating candles can easily be the most beautiful.

I chose to sell on Etsy because I really loved the idea of a community of handmade creations. I was a customer first there. I love searching through all the shops and finding really unique items and being able to talk with the shop owners who actually made it.

My Products...

Right away I decided to go with soy wax. While I do not wish to get into a debate or seem to put down other types of candles, I do feel that soy gives a cleaner and safer burn then paraffin. I care about my lungs and I also have far too many pets (cats, birds & rats) that I care about and want nothing toxic around them. You can read more about why I use soy and how safe it is in my FAQ.

Everything else I used is from trial and error and goes through rigorous testing. I shop from several different candle supply companies to get the best products out there. Making sure the scents are strong in the wax and carry a nice throw.

Currently I make votive, tealights, melts & tarts, candles inside of tins and floating candles. I am always looking for new molds and ideas though to expand.

Who am I?

My name is Aimee. I am originally from the oh so beautiful Colorado but moved to New York where my husband is from. I am then of course married to a wonderful supportive man and we have far too many cats, rats and birds lol. I spend far too much time online and when I am not online I enjoy reading really great books. My favorite color is definitely purple and my favorite scents would be jasmine & lavender.
