MOONEY AIRPLANE COMPANY EXHIBITS AT PRAGUE AERO EXPO

KERRVILLE, TX -- Mooney Airplane Company of Kerrville, Texas and AirNet d.o.o., based in Celje, Slovenia, will be displaying a Mooney Ovation 3 at the second annual AeroExpo Europe/Prague, held at Letnany/Kbely Airfield, May 22-24. The two firms announced an agreement in 2008 under which AirNet d.o.o. will sell Mooneys and represent the American high-performance single engine airplane manufacturer in Eastern Europe. AirNet serves the territory of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.

Mooney and AirNet will have a new Ovation 3 on static display. The 310 horsepower Ovation 3 is the world's fastest normally-aspirated single engine airplane, with a maximum cruise speed of 197 knots at 8,000 feet. The range allows non-stop flights of up to 1,860 nautical miles. "AeroExpo Europe/Prague allows Mooney to showcase our airplanes to a new market. The beautiful setting of Prague will draw visitors from all parts of Eastern Europe. We are looking forward to increased sales activity as we have seen recently in the US," said Mooney's manager of international sales Susan Harrison. In addition to spotlighting the Ovation 3, Mooney and AirNet will provide information on the Ovation 2 GX and the Acclaim Type S.

AeroExpo Europe/Prague is organized by the team that developed GA Buyer Europe. The exhibition is dedicated to the general aviation market and includes everything from ultralights through to business jets. Dave Craddock Sets World Record in Mooney Acclaim Type S

February 3, 2009, Kerrville, Texas - The first production Mooney Acclaim Type S owned and piloted by Dr. Dave Craddock was flown to set a world speed record on a trip from Minneapolis, Minnesota to New Orleans, Louisiana. Flying at an average speed of 333 knots with a max ground speed of 357 knots, Dr. Craddock traveled 904 nautical miles in 2 hours and 43 minutes.The record flight, submitted to the National Aeronautics Association (NAA) for review and certification in the C-1.c category, spanned the entire length of the Mississippi River. To accomplish the world-record speed over a recognized course, Dave departed Crystal Airport outside of Minneapolis, did a running start over MSP at 25,000 feet and a running stop over New Orleans descending through 11,400 feet.

"I had been watching the weather for several days via the internet and realized that I could set a blistering record," Dave said. "I love flying my Mooney Acclaim Type S at 25,000 feet, and I look for opportunities to do so."

Nicknamed the Batmobile, the Acclaim Type S is the third new Mooney for Dave Craddock, a dentist from Kewanee, Illinois. As Vice-President of the Flying Dentists Association, Dave used the Acclaim to make meetings in Minneapolis and New Orleans on January 31st along with setting the speed record. "Gone from home only 24 hours, I missed no clinic time, "Dave noted. "I could have never, ever done that trip commercially."

KERRVILLE, TX -- Mooney Airplane Company has announced the appointment of Jennifer Mitchell to the position of regional sales director for California. A Long Beach-based entrepreneur and a pilot, she was recently featured in Mooney advertisements. Ms. Mitchell is also an accomplished ultrasound equipment sales professional and licensed sonographer who uses her Ovation2 GX to conduct business at hospitals and imaging centers statewide.

"We featured Jennie in our ads because she is both a successful small business operator who uses her airplane effectively, but a highly effective salesperson, as well. Since the ad began running, she has done an exceptional job of assisting us in promoting our aircraft and it just became more and more obvious that she would be a valuable addition to the Mooney sales team," said Rick Neely, senior director of sales. In addition, she provides sales support, customer education and training for GE Healthcare.

A licensed, instrument rated Commercial and Multi-engine pilot, she has logged more than 500 hours of flight time, with approximately 400 of that total coming in Mooney aircraft. Garmin Synthetic Vision Approved for Installation on Mooneys

Latest Addition To G1000 Integrated Flight Deck Available Now

KERRVILLE, TX -- The latest addition to Garmin's G1000 Integrated Flight Deck, Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) has been approved for installation in Mooney Acclaims and Ovations by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Using sophisticated graphic technology, Garmin's SVT provides a virtual depiction of terrain and water features, complete with obstacles and, in the case of aircraft equipped with Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance (TCAS) systems, airborne traffic, in 3-D perspective that gives pilots enhanced visual cues and improved situational awareness regardless of meteorological or lighting conditions.

"The availability of this kind of technology for single engine airplanes is revolutionizing general aviation," noted Mooney Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dennis Ferguson. "Synthetic Vision, GPS/WAAS and Safe Taxi are among the most important advancements in avionics technology to come along in decades. They contribute significantly to overall flight safety and efficiency and can raise the level of a pilot's proficiency by virtue of the added capabilities they put at his or her fingertips. The addition of Synthetic Vision Technology to our fleet means Mooney will retain its accustomed position as the industry's leaders in value and performance," he added.

Mooney will begin installing the SVT-equipped G1000 avionics packages in production aircraft beginning in August. Mooney is also working on a package and pricing structure for aircraft owners who wish to upgrade their existing aircraft. Garmin's SVT transforms the cockpit by accurately displaying synthetic terrain, flight hazards, flight path marker and highway-in-the-sky on the primary flight display (PFD) to help the pilot maintain excellent airborne situational awareness even when flying in conditions of reduced visibility or darkness. SVT blends the aircraft's position with information from topgraphical databases to create and display real-time 3D images. Land, water and sky are clearly differentiated with shading and textures that are similar to the topographical colors found on the multi-function display (MFD) moving map. SVT also alerts pilots to terrain and obstacles with appropriate TAWS alert coloring.

"Because the G1000 is a truly integrated and expandable system, all of its major components are designed and manufactured by a single company so that they work together to give pilots the complete picture," noted Gary Kelley, Garmin's vice president of marketing. "SVT was designed as a retrofitable system and we have worked closely with Mooney to develop a process whereby customers can add SVT to their aircraft with very little downtime," he concluded.

Mooney Employees Stanley Feller and Bill Wheat Surpass 50 Year Milestones With Company
Bill Wheat and Stanley Feller May Be Longest-Serving Employees in the Industry

KERRVILLE, TX -- When Stanley Feller decided to pursue a job with the local airplane manufacturing company at Louis Schreiner Field in 1958, "he was still just a kid." At least, that's the way Bill Wheat remembers it. A self-proclaimed "old hand" at 23 back then, Wheat was the company's full time test pilot. He had actually been involved with company founder Al Mooney and his brother, Art, since they had moved their company to Kerrville in 1954. Both Wheat and Feller admit that they experienced some uncertainty in those early days and hoped their new jobs would last. On Tuesday, August 12, the current employees of Mooney will take time away from their usual routines to assure both men that their jobs have not only lasted, they've set records for longevity. Wheat, who became a full-time Mooney employee in 1957 and Feller, who began his tenure at the airplane manufacturing firm in 1958, may have been employed longer than any other employees in the aircraft industry. Mooney is known for having a number of long-term employees. Of the 300+ employees at the firm today, more than 40 have accrued 25 years of service or more. A dozen of those workers have more than 40 years with the company. Bill and Stanley are the only ones to have surpassed the half-century mark, however.

The two Mooney veterans got to know each other pretty quickly in 1958, when Stan Feller joined a work force that numbered less than 100 employees at the time. Dubbed "Cowboy" by one of his co-workers who had trouble remembering names but knew he had been involved in rodeos, Feller spent most of his time after graduating from Fredericksburg High School working odd jobs on his family's and other ranches until he went to work at Mooney on July 29, 1958. By that time, Bill Wheat had helped the Mooney brothers secure a lease for the facility, and even lived on site in what is now the Customer Delivery Center. Back then it was a just a house. Wheat took up residence and served as the night and weekend watchman. A former station manager for Trans Texas Airlines (which became Continental), he had moved from Uvalde to Kerrville when he heard that Mooney was moving his airplane business from Wichita, Kansas to the Texas Hill Country. A licensed pilot, he had flown Mooney-designed airplanes and wanted to be a part of the company.

When Stan Feller joined the company Al Mooney had already sold it to Hal Rachal and Norm Hoffman of Midland, Texas, but he was still actively involved in the design and production of his latest design, the M20, a four-place single engine airplane with a distinctive "backwards" tail. Both Feller and Wheat knew him personally.
While Feller learned how to form parts and operate the "drop hammer" in the tight confines of the original plant, Wheat was flying literally every airplane Mooney produced. "I flew all but the first 18 of the M20's when they came off the line until I eventually got a helper who took some of the load after a few years. I know for a fact that I've flown more than a million miles in Mooney airplanes without ever leaving the confines of the airport's air space," he says.
Feller spent virtually his entire career in Mooney's fabrication shop. His resume includes stints as a sheet metal lead, a foreman in the fabrication shop and 45 years as its supervisor. Since 2002 he has filled his latest role as "Mooney's famous tour guide." He conducts visitors through the plant and regales them with stories from the company's past as well as explaining its current operations. "It's only appropriate that Stanley serves as Mooney's number one guide for plant tours," says Wheat, whose current title is Senior Customer Support Technician. "Who else knows more about the facility than he does–he was working here when they built most of it," he added.

Wheat moved from his initial duties as a test pilot to the position of engineering coordinator for aircraft systems. "In the early days, there weren't a lot of people here. Those that were did a lot of different jobs. When I started I think there were 35 employees. Three of us, Herb Anderson, Kenny Lupe and myself used to design improvements and come up with model changes for the airplanes on nights and weekends. Once we had something we thought would work, we'd bring in the draftsmen and have them draw it up and then we'd build it and certify it." That, Wheat explains, is how he learned enough engineering to eventually become a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) for the Federal Aviation Administration in 1968–at their request. Though they had five degreed engineers in the area applying for the position, FAA officials sent him the application and, when he filled it out and returned it, tapped him for the role. He has maintained the authorization and still does some consulting on the side, in fact. During his tenure at Mooney he has overseen certification and airworthiness and avionics and electrical systems design and installations, too. In fact, he's done a little bit of everything during his 50+ years with the company.

Both men remember working through good and challenging times. "I was one of only 17 employees from 1970-1973 when we only had one person per department, basically handling spare parts," Feller recalled. "And, I remember a day in the mid-60's when we reached the other extreme. We hired our 1000th employee, Fern Corey, who worked with us in the Fab shop, in 1967. The press covered the event because it was such a big deal for a company in Kerr County to have 1,000 employees. Back then, we were turning out 3 airplanes a day," he added. "Our high point was probably 1966 and '67 before Hal Rachal got the idea that he wanted to make Mooney the biggest company in general aviation. He went out and bought two bankrupt companies, Ted Smith's Aerostar and Alon, and another one that hadn't started up yet, Mitsubishi, and proceeded to bankrupt Mooney instead," Wheat remembered.

Having reached the half-century mark at Mooney, Stanley, who will turn 71 on his next birthday, says he may just stick around for his 60th anniversary. "I wouldn't change anything about my career," he says. "I've never regretted staying at Mooney the whole time. It's pretty much a family, here and I hear people on my tours comment all the time on how people here have such a great attitude. We take a lot of pride in our work because there is so much handwork on our airplanes. Bill Wheat, who is now 78, feels the same way. "I'm doing something I really enjoy, so why should I quit doing it? I have no desire to retire. I certainly can't sit around and watch television all day," he notes. Instead, he arrives at the Mooney plant each day at around 2 AMand stays for about 12 hours. "I get there early enough so that Mooney operators in Australia, Asia, South Africa and Europe have someone they can reach when they call with a technical problem. It's what I want to be doing. It keeps me going."

Mooney's current management team, most of who weren't born when Wheat and Feller began their careers at the company, marvel at the pair. Jetsul and Mooney signed a sales representation agreement during the first week of August. KERRVILLE, TX -- Mooney Airplane Company announced today at AirVenture that the company has entered into a joint engineering project with Rolls-Royce. The scope of the project will include exploration of using the RR500 as an alternative fuel (Jet A) power plant to complement the current Mooney product line. Mooney's participation in the General Aviation Manufacturers Association's Future Avgas Strategy and Transition (FAST) Plan and Mooney's experience in building high-performance airframes make the two companies logical partners for the new project.

The benefits of developing the RR500 to power a four place aircraft include improved global fuel availability in emerging markets where 100LL is scarce to non-existent.

"The RR500 turbine introduced this week by Rolls-Royce represents the next step in our exploration of alternative fuel power for personal aircraft," explained Dennis Ferguson, CEO/president of Mooney Airplane Company. The revolutionary Garmin GFC 700 is a three axis, fully digital, dual channel, fail passive attitude-based Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS). It features roll, pitch and yaw control, with automatic Pitch Trim and Mach Trim control, and additional features not found in other autopilots including Flight Level Change. As general aviation's first and only fully integrated avionics system, the GFC 700 is capable of using all of the data available to the G1000, including the ability to maintain airspeed references and to optimize performance over the entire airspeed envelope.

The FAA granted approval of WAAS capable equipment for Mooney airplanes on April 30 of this year. WAAS uses satellite-based and approximately 25 ground reference stations positioned across the United States that monitor GPS satellite data. Two master stations, located on either coast, collect data from the reference stations and create a GPS correction message for precise lateral and vertical approach guidance. WAAS improves position accuracy from a typical 49 feet down to approximately 9 feet. With the FAA's published LPV (lateral position with vertical guidance) approaches, operators can frequently make approaches to general aviation airports down to minimums of less than 300 feet and of a mile. In fact, the WAAS avionics system approved for Mooney aircraft even generates a virtual glide path for more than 3,000 straight-in GPS and Area Navigation (RNAV) approaches that the aircraft's navigation system has programmed into it. Coupled with the precision flight guidance of the Garmin GFC700 autopilot, this additional capability ranks Mooney airplanes among general aviation's safest.

KERRVILLE, TX -- When it comes to speed, Mooney Airplane Company wants to make sure that Mooney owners get the most out of their airplanes. That's why the company is offering many of the Acclaim Type S speed modifications to Acclaim owners. Although the speed modifications do not make an Acclaim an "official" Acclaim Type S, they do accomplish two very significant things. First the modification increases top speed to make the Acclaim undeniably the world's fastest piston single. Secondly, factory installation of the proprietary speed mods ensures that the airframe retains its certified stall speed for airworthiness compliance.

"We're offering this upgrade to make it possible for customers to increase both the speed of their airplane and itsresidual value as well," explained Pete Wolak, Mooney's vice president of customer service. "In order to adhere to the FAA's [Federal Aviation Administration's] certification standards for the airframe, we aren't able to sell parts kits for this modification. Mooney Acclaim Type S Receives Certified by Transport Canada

KERRVILLE, TX -- Mooney Airplane Company announced today that it received type certification for the Model M20TN Acclaim from Transport Canada, the Canadian aviation certification authority. The Acclaim Type S was officially approved on July 10, 2008 and added to the Canadian Type Certificate originally granted to the M20M, M20R and M20S models on February 22, 2001. The Acclaim Type S received its initial certification from the United States' Federal Aviation Administration on May 23, 2008.

"This is another important step in our ongoing process to broaden Mooney's international market presence," said Mooney CEO Dennis Ferguson. "Canada obviously represents a solid potential market for Mooney. Mooneys offer the type of range, performance and fuel economy that make them outstanding alternatives in Canada, as well," he added.

The Canadian certification comes less than four months after Brazilian approval of the Acclaim Type S, which was granted on March 20 and only a matter of weeks after it was certified in Australia in May of 2008. Billed as "the largest fly-in in Europe," Tannkosh began as an informal gathering of aviators in the 1970's and has taken place every year since at Tannheim Airfield, in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg in southwestern Germany. It was held from July 18-20 this year. It proudly takes its name from a combination of its location---Tannheim and Oshkosh, Wisconsin, home of the world's largest fly-in.

"Europe continues to be an enthusiastic marketplace for Mooney products," noted Susan Harrison, Mooney's manager of international sales. "Tannkosh has become an especially attractive site for selling personal airplanes because it, like EAA AirVenture in the US, brings thousands of aviators together in a very popular setting. KERRVILLE, TX -- Mooney Airplane Company has agreed to support the National Fractional Ownership Program developed by US Aviation Group in Denton, TX. Mooney will feature the program on its website, provide space for fractional sales representatives at the company's EAA AirVenture exhibit, and promote the concept through the Mooney service centers around the country. "Fractional ownership has proven very successful in the turbine aircraft marketplace and has been a catalyst for adding new members to the aircraft ownership ranks. Mooney Acclaims Receive Brazilian Certification

KERRVILLE, TX -- Mooney Airplane Company announced today that it has received certification for the Model M20TN Acclaim and Acclaim Type S from the ANAC, the Brazilian aviation certification authority. The approval clears the way for eventual certification of the Ovation in the future as well. It comes on the heels of the sale of a new Acclaim to a Brazilian customer.

"This is a significant accomplishment for Mooney," noted Mooney CEO Dennis Ferguson. "Brazil represents a strong potential market for Mooney. It is the country with the second largest general aviation fleet in the world. We have more than 30 Mooneys currently operating there. This certification means that owners of Acclaims in Brazil can register and base their airplanes in country and will not be required to fly the aircraft out of the country every 60 days as is currently mandated for foreign-registered airplanes. We are in the process of establishing a local Mooney representative and will begin pursuing the approval of the Ovation very soon," he added.

The Brazilian certification, which was officially granted on March 20, entailed a visit to Kerrville by ANAC representatives who conducted a full records review that including aircraft production and engineering data. A follow-up visit to Brazil by Mooney officials along with the publication of the Pilot's Operating Handbook and all appropriate placards in Portuguese followed. The regulation also specifies that the airplanes be equipped with a single ADF and must have a flashlight included in the owners' accessory pack.

"We are continuing to experience significant interest in Mooney airplanes from international customers," Ferguson noted. "We recently concluded a very successful tour of Australia where a number of strong prospects were identified," he added.

KERRVILLE, TX -- A factory-fresh Mooney Acclaim whose only modification–air conditioning-- actually cost it a couple of miles per hour in performance, was recently flown to victory in an official air race by Premier Aircraft Sales Mooney Team Representative (MTR) Patrick Rydzewski. Competing in the Sport Air Racing League's Texoma 100 Air Race, Rydzewski piloted the Acclaim over the three legs of the 125 nautical mile course at an average speed of 215.55 miles per hour.
The Acclaim, which can cruise at speeds as high as 278 mile per hour at Flight Level 250, easily outran its competition despite being limited to about 3,000 AGL throughout the course. It claimed the prize for being the fastest production aircraft in the race and the fastest in its class (280 hp or greater, retractable gear, and turbocharged airplanes), as well.
Rydzewski, who was competing in an air race for the first time, described his experience as "pretty cool" after winning. "The name of the game in this type of low altitude 'dash' race is to level off and go fast," he explained. "The smallest deviation from course or speed costs precious time. The higher the Acclaim flies, the faster it goes, so I was really only getting about 193 knots true airspeed.    The cool thing is that my Acclaim was equipped with air conditioning, which can slow it down by a few knotsand I still won!
             "Another cool thing is that I missed the start/finish line and had to do a quick 360 degree turn and start again without a fresh time syncso I lost time thereand still won!
         My closest competition was a "back-shop, aerodynamically modified" airplane.
         Some racers come out the day before and fly the course to practicemost of these racers are more experienced, doing this on a regular basis and spend days, weeks, months, etc. prepping their aircraft to shave off airframe drag just to squeeze an extra knot or twoMe? I have never done this before. I showed up, jumped into my non-modified, factory fresh Acclaim, plugged in my coordinates in the G1000, turned on the air conditioning, and cruised along the course, hands-off. The avionics told me where the best winds were for short course legs. I just looked for traffic as I passed a few racers throughout the race and enjoyed the experience. Our take-off order was based on fastest to slowest, so passing faster, homebuilt, airplanes was pretty cool, too," he stated.
        The Mooney Acclaim and its latest variant, the Acclaim Type S, set the standard for single engine piston aircraft with cruise speeds, at altitude of 237 knots (273 miles per hour) and 242 knots (278 miles per hour.) Mooneys have set more than 130 speed records over the company's 60-plus years of existence.

About the Sport Air Racing League

The Sport Air Racing League is a series of races hosted by various entities whether EAA-affiliated or not. The intent of the League is to offer a friendly, fun, non-professional racing environment for builders and owners to test and improve aircraft modifications. The watch-words of the League are Fun and Safety.
A safe racing environment is made accessible to people without specific racing experience or training by starting the racers at timed intervals, in a fastest-first starting order. This starting method alleviates passing and prevents head-to-head racing as seen at Reno.
These types of races are not intended for viewing by spectators, so the short, multi-lap, closed course format is avoided. Races in this league are primarily a proving ground for aircraft performance enhancements be they in the powerplant or aerodynamic/configuration and are 100 to 400 miles in length. Safety is stressed and participation by anyone with a valid pilot's license and an airworthy aircraft is encouraged.
In addition to the Experimental classes, participating races are encouraged to include various Factory classes for competition among production aircraft within whatever limitations the race host determines. These limitations might include requiring the race course be completed in some set time limit (effectively limiting the minimum speed allowable).

FAA Grants Type Certification for Ovations and Acclaim

KERRVILLE, TX -- The use of Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS)-aided navigation and Safe-Taxi has been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Mooney's family of airplanes–the Acclaim Type S, Ovation 3 and Ovation2 GX. The amended Type Certificate for the upgrade was awarded to Mooney by the FAA on April 30. WAAS and Safe-Taxi will provide additional safety and ease pilot workloads in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) or high traffic environments, both in the air and on the ground. Mooney will begin delivering aircraft with the WAAS system and the SafeTaxi software upgrade immediately.

The addition of WAAS navigation to our airplanes allows Mooney operators to take full advantage of the capabilities, accuracy, reliability and integrity of their Garmin G 1000 avionics and Global Positioning System (GPS)," noted Mooney Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dennis Ferguson. "The overall performance of Mooney airplanes permits them to be operated in the same environment as many business aircraft, especially turboprops. That's why we have made an ongoing commitment to provide our customers with all the tools necessary to do so efficiently. That's the reason Mooney airplanes are the only ones in their class to be approved for flight into known icing and that's also why we made it a priority to obtain WAAS certification. We appreciate the way the FAA worked closely with us to make this happen," he added.

WAAS uses satellite-based navigational aids for precise lateral and vertical approach guidance. It improves position accuracy from a typical 49 feet down to approximately 9 feet. With the FAA's published LPV (lateral position with vertical guidance) approaches, operators can frequently make approaches to general aviation airports down to minimums of less than 300 feet and of a mile. In fact, the WAAS avionics system approved for Mooney aircraft even generates a virtual glide path for more than 3,000 straight-in GPS and Area Navigation (RNAV) approaches that the aircraft's navigation system has programmed into it. Coupled with the precision flight guidance of the Garmin GFC700 autopilot, this additional capability ranks Mooney airplanes among general aviation's safest.
Mooney is working on a retrofit package and pricing structure for aircraft produced prior to April 30 who wish to add the capability to their airplanes. It is expected to be released during the second quarter of this year.

KERRVILLE, TX -- Mooney Airplane Company has delivered the first Acclaim Type S–the fastest single engine production piston airplane in the world–to an Illinois dentist, Dr. David Craddock of Kewanee. A loyal Mooney customer, Dr. Craddock accepted the keys to his third new Mooney from the company's president and chief executive officer, Dennis Ferguson, and Director of Sales Rick Neely, at a special delivery ceremony attended by Mooney's employees. He had previously picked up the 100th Ovation built by Mooney in 1997 and flew it for more than 500 hours before purchasing a second Ovation, serial number 221.

"This is a memorable day for all of us at Mooney, as well as Dr. Craddock," Ferguson noted. "It's great to welcome a loyal customer back to pick up another new airplane, but it's even more memorable when that new airplane is the 'first of the fastest,'" he added. "Dr. Craddock has a penchant for milestones, apparently; his first Mooney was Ovation serial number 100 and this Acclaim, in addition to being the first Type S, is also serial number 100 of the M20TN series. "Taking delivery of my Mooney Ovation eleven years ago was a highlight for me, but this event–and this airplane–have special significance to me," Dr. Craddock said. "I'm really looking forward to flying my Acclaim Type S because its performance means I'll be able to go further, faster than I ever have before." An aviator since 1989, Dr. Craddock has logged more than 1,200 of his 1,450 flight hours in Mooneys.

The Acclaim Type S was introduced by Mooney in October of 2007. Priced at $599,500, it is powered by a Teledyne Continental Motors IO 550-G engine and equipped with dual Kelly Aerospace turbochargers that allow it to maintain sea level manifold pressure all the way to its service ceiling of 25,000 feet. Its top cruise speed of 242 knots is five knots faster than the original Acclaim and results from a series of refinements that have notably increased its performance. While its maximum speed is attained at FL250, the Acclaim Type S still operates at near turbine speeds at a more common cruising altitude of 16,000 feet, where it can still exceed 220 KTAS. It comes equipped with Garmin's G1000 integrated avionics suite and GFC 700 autopilot as standard. A TKS anti-icing system is also available, making it the only airplane in its class approved for flight into known icing conditions.

Mooney Announces Maximum Coverage Warranty

Coverage Extended to 3 Years/1000 Hours For Airplane Systems and Components, Six Years/2000 Hours on Structure

KERRVILLE, TX --Mooney Airplane Company is expanding its warranty coverage on new aircraft from spinner to tail, assuming the responsibility of being the single point of contact and claim administration for all of the airplane's components, including those supplied by vendors. The new Maximum Coverage package extends the warranty from 36 months or 600 hours to 36 months or 1000 hours, whichever comes first. It also includes a new 6-year or 2000 hour structural warranty, as well.

"This coverage is designed to give our customers the benefits of straight-forward, efficient and consistent response to any service or support issues that arise during the warranty period on their aircraft," said Pete Wolak, Mooney's vice president of customer service. "Having a single point of contact takes the guesswork out of the equation and eliminates virtually all of the 'red tape' that can be associated with filing a warranty claim. It's also consistent with the type of treatment typically provided to owners and operators of higher-priced business aircraft. We're committed to providing customer service that sets the industry standard to our family of Mooney owners," he added.

The Maximum Coverage warranty covers parts, assemblies and integrated systems as did previous warranties, subject to typical limitations and exclusions. It also allows customers to deal with Mooney on issues related to the avionics, engine and propeller, all of which previously required separate contact with the manufacturers. Coverages for the latter are set by the vendors, but Mooney will now assist owners and operators with administration of claims and coordination of repairs or replacements.

Under terms of the Maximum Coverage warranty, owners who discover a potential defect are required to notify Mooney or a Authorized Service within thirty (30) days and deliver the item or arrange for its repair by such Service Center, along with a written Defect Report. Once Mooney acknowledges the part failure, any labor expenses incurred by the Owner for the removal, return, re-installation and related costs and expenses with respect to such part or parts (including transportation costs by normal service carrier to and from Mooney's facilities) shall be reimbursed by Mooney to the Service Center. The repair or replacement of defective parts under an accepted Warranty claim will be made without charge to the owner.

"Our goal is not only to minimize the number of warranty issues customers face, but to make the process of filing a claim and getting necessary repairs or replacements as efficient and painless as possible. We view the support of our customers' airplanes as a partnership," Wolak said.

Running from 10 AM until 3 PM, they will be hosted by Mooney's authorized service representatives at each of the sites.

Sessions are planned at three trade shows including Sun 'N Fun Fly-In in Lakeland, Florida on Thursday, April 10 from 10 AM until 2 PM in the Hospitality Room of the Florida Air Museum. Locations and times are yet to be determined for workshops at the National Business Aviation Association Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando, Florida in October and the AOPA Expo slated for San Jose, California, November 6-8.

Arapahoe Aero will be the venue for a Spring session on May 2-3. FlightLevel Norwood in Norwood, Massachusetts will host Mooney owners and operators on September 19-20 and Don Maxwell Aviation Service in Longview, Texas will wrap up the year with a workshop on December 12-13.

The company recently conducted a similar event in Scottsdale, Arizona, hosted by Chandler Aviation which included demonstration flights in a new Mooney Acclaim.

Mooney Launches On-line Maintenance Training Service Network Technical Training Now Available on the Web

Kerrville, Texas - Beginning April 15, Mooney Airplane Company will begin offering web-based training modules designed to assist its authorized service representatives in upgrading and updating their technical knowledge and support offerings.

The training, which applies to both out-of-production M20 Series airplanes and current Ovations and Acclaims models, was developed in partnership with CAE, a Montreal, Quebec based provider of simulation, modeling technologies and integrated training services. It is being made available to approximately 450 technicians worldwide.

The training is accessible through a strategic learning web portal linked to the www.mooney.com website and consists of specific maintenance modules designed over the past eight months."This training program is a key component in our efforts to provide consistent, world class service to our owners and operators, no matter where they are in the world," said Dennis E. Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Mooney Airplane Company. "We've worked closely with CAE since last summer to create a curriculum that is practical, understandable and deliverable via the web. New Mooney Acclaim Owner Alex Coley Sets Cross Country Speed Record Between San Diego, California and Jacksonville, Florida

KERRVILLE, TX–Alex Coley was bitten by the flying bug when he was a child. But, the urge to set a world speed record in his own airplane didn't strike until he was bringing his brand new Mooney Acclaim home from the factory in Kerrville to Craig Airport in Jacksonville, Florida early in 2007. That's when he and his flight instructor Tim Wadsworth realized they were cruising at 350 knots and wondered what the cross-country record was for a single engine airplane. They not only found out , but on Saturday, January 26, 2008, they established two new ones, flying from San Diego's Lindbergh Field to Crag Field in Jacksonville, Florida in an elapsed time of 6 hours and 59 minutes, setting a transcontinental flight record as well as a record over a recognized course between the two cities.
The flight reinforced the Acclaim's position as the world's fastest production single engine piston aircraft in a dramatic and impressive way. Coley and Wadsworth averaged more than 305 miles per hour and achieved a top speed of 412 miles per hour during the flight, which included an impressive 12-minute fuel stop at Mooney's home airport, Louis Schreiner Field in Kerrville, Texas, which happened to be very near the mid-point of the trip.
The record flight, which has been submitted to the National Aeronautics Association (NAA) for review and certification as a record for piston powered aircraft in the 2,205-3,358 lb. category, is the second cross-country record flight by an Acclaim in the past year. On April 6, 2007 an Acclaim set a world record for speed over a recognized course between San Diego, California and Charlotte, North Carolina. piloted by noted aviation reporter and author Scott Perdue. His record, between San Diego's Gillespie Field and Charlotte–a distance of 1800 nautical miles--was accomplished in a total elapsed time of 7 hours and 26 minutes! He reached a top speed of 313 knots at 25,000 feet, stopping at Norman, Oklahoma for fuel.
The Mooney Acclaim will remain the world's fastest single engine aircraft in service for only a few more weeks because the Acclaim Type S, which boasts a top speed of 242 knots at 25,000 feet, will begin deliveries at the end of March. It will surpass the Acclaim's advertised maximum cruise speed of 237 knots by five knots.
Mr. Coley, who became a Mooney owner for the first time in January of last year, flew his Acclaim (N207AR), serial number 12, on the record flight. Since he's still working on his instrument rating, he elected to team with Wadsworth, a 4000 hour CFII, for the attempt. "I've been interested in airplanes and flying since my Mom worked for an aircraft dealer when I was eight years old," Coley said, "but I didn't have the time or opportunity to do anything about it until recently, " the commercial real estate developer explained. "My friend, John, was a Blue Angel, and he counseled me to get my instrument rating before I started buying airplanes, too, so that's what I'm doing. I just couldn't think of a more enjoyable way to build some experience toward the rating than flying across the country at 25,000 feet at a record pace," he continued.
Coley was aided in his speed record quest by the same people who helped him acquire his record-setting airplane–Earle Boyter and the sales team at Premier Aircraft Sales, Inc., Mooney's Sales Representatives headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. "The folks at Premier not only helped me choose the right airplane to meet both my business and personal flying needs, they recognized right away that I wasn't going to be happy spending my money to acquire an airplane that didn't have state of the art avionics and world class performance. I didn't want to invest in 'yesterday's news' by buying a used airplane. They have supported me throughout the process of learning to fly, selecting the Acclaim and preparing for this record flight. I've been able to fly more than 300 hours this year and will have my instrument rating in the near future. I really appreciate their help," he added.
Coley also indicated that this is only the first of what he hopes will be a number of record-setting flights in his Acclaim. "We're looking at possibly following Lindbergh's route or something like that," he noted. That's no small order for a guy who has gone from a new pilot to world record holder in less than a year.

Mooney Plans Acclaim "Leap Down Under" Tour of Australia from February 29 - March 19

Kerrville, TX–Mooney Airplane Company is planning a three-week demonstration tour "down under" in Australia commencing on February 29-the extra day added to the calendar for Leap Year, 2008---and including a dozen stops. Highlighting the Mooney "Leap Down Under" tour will be a Victorian Labour Day weekend at the Mighty Mitta Muster on March 8-10 and three days, March 14, 15, and 16 at a Mooney Pilot Proficiency Program in Jandakot. Flying a new Mooney Acclaim, the fastest single engine airplane currently in production, Mooney's Sales Representatives will work with members of the Australian Mooney Pilots Association (AMPA) to schedule demonstration flights and ensure that the Acclaim is seen by as many prospects as possible. There are currently around 150 Mooneys based in Australia, according to the AMPA. The "Leap Down Under" tour will be officially launched with a welcoming ceremony in Victoria at Wangaratta Airport on February 29. From there it will move to Coolangatta and Maroochydore, Queensland for demonstrations on March 1 before continuing on to Mackay, Queensland on the second and Dubbo and Bankstown in New South Wales (N.S.W.) on March 3rd. The Acclaim's visit to New South Wales will continue with the airplane on display at Bankstown on the 4th before it is flown to Camden on March 5. It will stop in the capital city of Canberra on the morning of Thursday, March 6 and then Griffith, N.S.W. in the evening. From the 8th through the 10th the Acclaim will be part of the festivities at the Mighty Mitta Muster in Mitta Mitta before it repositions to Moorabbin, Victoria on the 11th. On the 12th plans currently call for the airplane to be flown to Kalgoorie in Western Austrailia before heading to the Mooney PPP at Jandakot on the 13th. The "Leap Down Under" tour will conclude with a visit to Parafield in South Australia on the 17th before is dropped off in Melbourne on the 19th to close the tour. Ms. Harrison emphasized that the ambitious nature of the tour highlights the versatility of the Acclaim and, for that matter, all the Mooney models including the Ovation3 and Ovation2 GX, as well. "Making more than a dozen widespread stops in such a compressed amount of time requires aircraft that are easy to maintain and that can get into and out of airports that won't accommodate airliners," she noted. She pointed out that there are more than 7,800 currently in service around the world. She also added that the new Acclaim Type S, the world's fastest production single engine airplane, will debut in the U.S. at the end of March. Kerrville, TX–Mooney Airplane Company has appointed Keith S. Vasey to the position of Mooney Team Representative (MTR) for the Great Plains United States. His territory, which encompasses the states of Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, is similar to the region he covered most recently as the North Central Regional Sales Manager for Columbia Aircraft. A veteran aircraft salesman, Vasey previously held sales positions with Elliott Aviation in Moline, Illinois and Galvin Flying Service in Seattle, Washington. While at Galvin, he was honored as the Columbia Aircraft "Salesman of the Year: in 2005. He was also the leading salesman for Mooney Aircraft in 1999.

Al Mooney Inducted Into Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame

{mosimage}Wichita, KS–The founder of the Mooney Airplane Company, Albert W. Mooney, has been inducted into the Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame. As part of the festivities associated with the annual Kansas Aviation Museum Gala in Wichita, Kansas on November 17, 2007 Mr. Mooney was enshrined along with aviation notables Jake Moellendick, considered the father of Wichita's aviation business, and former U-2 test pilot Robert L. Sieker of Hutchinson, Kansas. Al Mooney founded the Mooney Airplane Company in Wichita–twice. Initially, he and a group of backers from the Bridgeport Machine Company, incorporated in Wichita in 1929 but the Great Depression brought that effort to an end before production could begin. The company that presently bears his name was founded in the "Air Capital of the World" seventeen years later, in July of 1946 and continued to operate there until 1953. Nearly 200 M 18 Mooney Mites were built in Kansas.

Dennis Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Mooney, accepted the plaque commemorating Al Mooney's selection. He thanked the Kansas Aviation Museum and the State of Kansas on behalf of Al Mooney's son, John Mooney, daughter Bobbi Sanders, and the employees of the Mooney Airplane Company for recognizing Al Mooney's significant contributions to general aviation. Michele Fite Named Vice President of Human Resources at Mooney Airplane Company

In her new role she will be responsible for the oversight of the company's employee recognition, recruitment, labor relations, compensation and benefits programs. She will report to Mooney President and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Ferguson.

"Michele is an accomplished professional with an excellent background in all aspects of human resources management," Ferguson noted. "We are fortunate to find someone with her credentials locally. Ms. Fite comes to Mooney from Kinetic Concepts, Inc. in San Antonio, where she served as Director of Staffing and Employee Relations. Prior to joining Kinetic Concepts in 2006, she spent six years at DPT Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as Senior Director of Human Resources. She transferred to the firm's San Antonio site from DPT Lakewood, Inc. in her native New Jersey, where she was Director of Human Resources. She has held similar roles at Duferco Steel and at Sanofi Beaute, Inc. in New Jersey, as well.

A graduate of Rider College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey with a bachelor of arts in Journalism, she has also received extensive training in Talent and Selection and Managing within the Law from Novations, Inc. in Dallas, Texas. Mooney Taps Piotr "Pete" Wolak to Head Customer Service

{mosimage}Kerrville, TX–Mooney Airplane Company has announced the appointment of Piotr "Pete" Wolak as Vice President of Customer Service. An industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in commercial and general aviation, he will be responsible for the overall management of Mooney's Customer Service organization, including oversight of the firm's field service engineering, warranty administration, maintenance training, spare parts inventory, the factory service facility and worldwide network of Authorized Service centers. He will report to Dennis Ferguson, President and Chief Executive Officer. He replaces Al Nitchman, who retired in July.

"Pete's track record is an impressive one," Ferguson stated. "In his most recent assignment at Pilatus Business Aircraft, he led a team that was recognized by industry operator surveys in both Professional Pilot magazine and Aviation International News as the #1 Product Support organization in its segment. We're pleased to have someone with Pete's world-class leadership experience on our team," he added.

Mr. Wolak is a 1988 graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering. He began his career in aviation in 1986 with People Express and Continental Airlines, serving as a customer service representative for three years, while still in college. After graduating, he progressed through the airline's ranks to the position of CFM56 Senior Propulsion Engineer by 1997 before being named Project Manager/ Engineering. In April of 2000, he was named Vice President of Customer Programs at Pilatus Business Aircraft in Broomfield, Colorado. He moved up to the position of Vice President of Customer Service in October of 2002, holding that slot until joining Mooney.

Mr. Wolak and his wife, Kathryn, are the parents of three children. They will be relocating to Kerrville in the near future.

Mooney Hosts Technical Workshop at California Site

Lakeport, CA–Mooney Airplane Company, manufacturers of the world's fastest single engine piston airplane recently conducted an exclusive one-day workshop featuring technical seminars on Teledyne Continental engines, avionics, maintenance and aircraft modifications. On Saturday, December 1, Mooney representatives were at Lake Aero Styling & Repair (LASAR) on the Lampson Field Airport in Lakeport, California. LASAR is an authorized Mooney Service Center.

Lee Uecker, Mooney Team Representative for California also provided demonstration flights in a new Mooney Acclaim and distributed door prizes and food. Two attendees also received $400 off of their next annual inspections.

"This event was part of our ongoing efforts at California Mooney to interact with the general aviation community throughout the state and provide current Mooney owners, prospects and even owners of competitive aircraft with the opportunity to see the latest Mooney has to offer," Uecker noted. "Mooney has a well deserved reputation for performance and safety among aircraft operators and the seminars that were a part of this workshop were designed to ensure that the 'Mooniacs' in this state are informed and up to speed on available modifications, recommended maintenance and service guidelines–and the latest models," he added.
Uecker also emphasized the versatility of the Mooney Acclaim, Ovation3 and Ovation 2 GX by pointing out that an Acclaim flown by well-known aviation writer Scott Perdue, who writes for Santa Monica-based PLANE & PILOT magazine, completed a coast-to-coast trip from San Diego to Charlotte, North Carolina in 7 hours and 26 minutes last year. He averaged more than 300 miles per hour for much of the trip. "That type of trip is virtually impossible using any other form of transportation. Going on the airlines would require ground commutes at both ends to major hub airports, at least one connection and a lot of opportunities for delays and time-consuming layovers. It really makes the point that Mooney airplanes aren't just fun to fly, they're obviously valuable business tools, too," he concluded.

The Acclaim is the fastest piston single in production. It cruises at an impressive 273 miles per hour at 25,000 feet. A new version of the airplane, the Acclaim Type S, will enter service in January boasting a cruise speed of 279 miles per hour, putting it in the same performance category as some turboprops.

The aircraft in which Uecker offered demonstration flights is considerably more economical to acquire than a business jet, and less costly to maintain. The Acclaim carries a suggested list price of $579,900. All Mooney models feature Garmin G1000 avionics and a GFC 700 autopilot, giving the single engine flight deck the same capabilities and technology as that available on jets.

Mooney Displays Acclaim at Dubai Air Show

Kerrville, TX–Mooney Airplane Company made a rare appearance at the Dubai Air Show, November 11-15, where it vied for attention with the world's largest commercial jet, the Airbus A-380 and an impressive array of business and air transport airplanes. With a new M20 Ovation2 GX provided by the Mooney Team Representatives in St. Luc Cedex, France, Troyes Aviation, Mooney was one of 850-plus exhibitors who attracted in excess of 45,000 attendees. More than 140 aircraft were on static display. The tenth anniversary event set records for the number and value of orders received during the four day show. Vice President of Programs and New Business Floyd Washburn, Barry Hodkin, the company's Vice President of Corporate Planning, and Board Member David Schlaff represented Mooney at the show.

The aircraft Troyes Aviation exhibited in Dubai was an Ovation 2GX owned and flown by French aviation journalist Jacques Callies, editor and publisher of Aviation Et Pilote. Like the Ovation3 and the "top of the line" Acclaim, it is considerably more economical to acquire than a business jet, and less costly to maintain. The Acclaim is the world's fastest single engine piston aircraft, able to cruise at an impressive 273 miles per hour at 25,000 feet. They paint a composite view of the aircraft's environment, providing the pilot with all necessary information to make safe decisions during every phase of flight. Engine performance and situational data such as location, terrain, traffic, weather and airport information are all digitally depicted and can be quickly interpreted at a glance on the large-format displays.

Mooney's Performance Leader Increases Top Speed to 242 Knots

Kerrville, TX–Mooney Airplane Company has announced that the world's fastest piston single is now even faster. Thanks to a combination of aerodynamic refinements, the latest version of the Acclaim will now fly at a top speed of 242 knots and be known as the Acclaim-Type S.
The 280 horsepower, turbo-normalized Acclaim, which established a new standard for aircraft in its class with a speed of 237 knots when it received its Federal Aviation Administration certification in December of 2006, has set a number of speed records since entering service. To date, more than 50 have been delivered.
"The Acclaim rightfully claimed the title of 'the fastest production piston single in the world' when it was introduced. Its performance in the air and in the marketplace ensured that the airplane lived up to its name," stated David Copeland, Mooney's vice president of sales and marketing. "But its speed advantage over the competition has now been increased, resulting in two new titles– the Type S and 'the best Mooney ever.' The Mooney Acclaim-Type S is unquestionably the fastest singleperiod," he added.
Priced at $599,500, deliveries of the Acclaim-Type S are forecast to commence during the first quarter of 2008. Powered by a Teledyne Continental Motors IO 550-G engine, it is equipped with dual Kelly Aerospace turbochargers that allow it to maintain sea level manifold pressure all the way to its service ceiling of 25,000 feet. "The Type S has benefited from a series of refinements that, by themselves, wouldn't appear to be significant, but taken together, have notably increased its performance. We have added some impressive new engineering talent during the past year and have tested and incorporated their refinements into this updated design," Copeland pointed out.
"Obviously, we're proud of the airplane's amazing performance at altitude," he noted. "We realize that most of the time its flown at lower flight levels. But, even at a cruising altitude of 16,000 feet, the Acclaim-Type S exceeds 220 KTAS."
The latest version of the world's fastest single is equipped with Garmin's G1000 avionics suite and GFC 700 autopilot as standard. A TKS anti-icing system is also available, making it the only airplane in its class approved for flight into known icing conditions.

Mooney Acclaim Deliveries Surpass Milestone With 50th Delivery

Kerrville, Texas– Mooney Airplane Company's high performance leader, the M20 TN Acclaim, is known for its exceptional performance at altitude, reaching speeds up to 237 knots (273 mph) at 25,000 feet. That makes it the fastest piston single-engine airplane in production. But, it has proven to be a great performer on the ground, as well, surpassing its 50th delivery earlier this month. The first Acclaim was delivered in November of 2006.
"The Acclaim's performance in the marketplace rivals its performance in the air," said Mooney vice president of sales and marketing David Copeland. "Sales took off and began climbing as soon as we introduced the airplane at the 2006 Sun 'N Fun Fly-In, and they haven't slowed down. He averaged more than 301 knots during the second leg of the trip from Norman, Oklahoma to Charlotte. Instruction Will Be Available to Mooney Authorized Service Network on the Web

Kerrville, Texas–Mooney Airplane Company has tapped CAE Systems, a Montreal, Quebec-based provider of simulation, modeling technologies and integrated training services, to develop and implement a series of web-based training modules designed to assist Mooney in upgrading and updating its technical support standards throughout the company's authorized service center network. The training will apply to both out-of-production M20 Series models, and current Ovations and Acclaims.
"This training program is central to our strategy to improve the quality of Mooney's factory support. It's very important to us," said Dennis E. Ferguson, Chief Executive Officer of Mooney Airplane Company. "We've made a commitment to the Mooney family of owners and operators to expand and improve our customer support. This is the latest step in that ongoing process. CAE's experience and understanding of our specific needs and audience, and their ability to deliver very practical and line-oriented training solutions, on the web, made them the logical choice as partners in this effort," he added.
"We are very excited about this new project, which allows our Services team to apply expertise acquired with larger aircraft to the general aviation market," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's Group President, Innovation and Civil Training & Services. Under terms of the agreement, CAE will create a strategic learning web portal and maintenance modules designed to make Mooney technical training available to an estimated 560 technicians at factory authorized service facilities worldwide. CAE e-learning will host and provide access to the modules.
The course curriculum was developed during a January, 2007 meeting under the direction of Richard Heitzman, Mooney's Manager Service Center Relations and Perry Schwartz, President and Creative Director of Kinetic Learning of Minnetonka, Minnesota. Mooney factory service representatives Bill Wheat, Robert Jule and Stacey Ellis also participated along with representatives from the Mooney Service Center (MSC) network Bruce Jaeger (Willmar Air Service), Ronnie Kramer (Dugosh Aircraft Service), Dennis Bernhard (Lone Star Aero) and Don Maxwell (Maxwell Aviation).
The online training course, which is scheduled for release during the first quarter of 2008, is being designed to be self paced, interactive and engaging for participants, with over 70 hours of technical information and customer interaction skills as well as support material developed from the Mooney factory's technical information and inputs from the MSC network's designated Subject Matter Experts. The curriculum is divided into three distinct areas of concentration which can be chosen by the technicians: M20C-G, M20J-K, M20R, S, M, and TN. A training certificate will be awarded for the completion of each section. Once the technician completes all 70+ hours of coursework, he or she will be designated an "Al Mooney Master Mechanic."

NASCAR Driver Matt Kenseth Plans Visit to Mooney EAA Exhibit on Wednesday, July 25 at 11 AM

Popular Racer Is An Acclaim Owner

Kerrville, TX– Mooney Airplane Company will host NASCAR Driver Matt Kenseth for an autograph and photo session at its EAA AirVenture exhibit on Wednesday morning, July 25 at 11 AM. The popular racer and owner of a Mooney Acclaim will be signing autographs and greeting potential Mooney customers at the company's exhibit located in spaces 205-207 and 212-214 on Knapp Street near Aeroshell Square. Kenseth, who flies his distinctive red and black Acclaim to race venues from his home in Mooresville, North Carolina, is a native of Wisconsin. He signed the purchase agreement for his Acclaim at the 2006 EAA AirVenture.
Kenseth's turbo-normalized Acclaim, serial number 003, will cruise at 237 knots at 25,000 feet. It is equipped with the popular Garmin G1000 avionics suite which features two flat panel liquid crystal displays, a GDL69A weather uplink with XM satellite radio, and a GTX 330 mode "S" transponder.
Kenseth has won twice this season--in February at the Stater Bros. 300 at the California Speedway, and in April at the O'Reilly 300 at the Texas Motor Speedway. He currently ranked third in the overall NEXTEL Cup standings. He is a licensed private pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings.
"Matt Kenseth loves flying and coming home to Wisconsin," explained Mooney vice president of sales and marketing David Copeland. "He visited us at EAA last year and ended up buying one of the airplanes we had on display–Acclaim serial number 003, so we're very pleased that he'll be joining us again this year at Oshkosh. It's great to have him as part of the Mooney family, and we're grateful that he has agreed to appear with us at this year's AirVenture," Copeland added.
Kenseth, who finished second in last year's Chase for the Cup, will continue his quest for another NASCAR win next week at Pocono, in Pennsylvania, and in two weeks at Watkins Glen, New York.

New 3-D Design Tool Is Latest Addition To Mooney Website

Feature Provides Customers To Design Their Mooney On-line

Kerrville, TX– Mooney Airplane Company's exciting new website, www.mooney.com has added a new feature that will allow buyers and prospects for a new Acclaim, Ovation3, or Ovation2 GX to design their airplanes' exterior paint schemes and select carpet and upholstery for the interiors on line. Created in cooperation with Scheme Designers of Cresskill, New Jersey, the interactive program can be accessed by choosing the "Aircraft" drop-down in the menu bar at the top of the Home page and then clicking on "Design Your Mooney."
The feature provides choices among the three production aircraft models and a palate of 30 available exterior colors as well as two carpet options and four leather upholstery selections for the interiors. The Ovation2 GX is offered with one standard paint scheme, while the Ovation3 and Acclaim each provide two standard designs.
"This is just another way in which we're trying to make Mooney ownership exciting and easy," said David Copeland, Mooney's vice president of sales and marketing. "It's really a convenient and creative way for customers to design their own external color combinations and get a glimpse at what the interior will look like in their finished airplanes. It takes just a few minutes and allows for a variety of design options. The results can be pretty dramatic, but this program virtually eliminates surprises and, with the new 2008 paint schemes, extremely attractive. The Ovation3 we have on display at EAA AirVenture, N922DH, is an example of one of the optional schemes we're showing on the "Design Your Mooney" page. We hope our customers will have fun and enjoy creating a picture of their new aircraft even before it goes into production," he added.
Mooney introduced its new website in June of 2007, adding a variety of customer-oriented, interactive features including a "Mooniacs" blog and member pages where owners and enthusiasts can post pictures and anecdotal information. It has already recorded a significant number of hits and is growing more popular each day.

California Mooney, Latest Addition to Mooney Sales Network

Santa Maria, CA– Mooney Airplane Company, producers of the world's fastest airplanes powered by a single piston engine, has established a new base of operation in California. Lee Uecker, recently named Regional Sales Manager for the Kerrville, Texas aircraft manufacturer hosted an open house at California Mooney's new offices at Santa Maria's Captain G. Allen Hancock Field (KSMX) on Friday and Saturday, July 13-14,2007. In addition to officially opening the offices located in the Central Coast Jet Center, 1211 Citation Court, Santa Maria, 93455, Uecker exhibited a new Mooney Ovation2, Ovation3 and the Mooney Acclaim.
A native of California, Uecker joined Kerrville, Texas-based Mooney in March, with responsibility for representing the company's line of three piston-engine singles–the Ovation 2GX, Ovation3 and Acclaim–in the Golden State. Uecker graduated from high school in Salinas, and worked at Million Air, a fixed base operator at Monterey Peninsula Airport before going off to Texas to attend college at LeTourneau University in Longview. He graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science and a concentration in Flight Management. He is a commercial, multi-engine and instrument-rated pilot.
"I'm excited about returning to California and representing Mooney. We've already begun demonstrating Mooney aircraft around the state, including the new turbo-normalized Mooney Acclaim, which can cruise at 237 knots, and the normally-aspirated Ovation3 which can cruise at 197 knots. We plan to exhibit at a number of local California air shows and host our own California Air Race in the near future," Uecker explained. Kerrville, Texas–"Mooniacs," the enthusiastic and fiercely loyal owners and operators of Mooney Airplane Company products, aren't just the focus of the general aviation airframe manufacturer's new website, which debuted on Friday, June 15, they will also be among its key contributors. Thanks to an infusion of new technology and a customer-centered approach that emphasizes two-way communication and highlights the Mooney "ownership experience," the new site at www.mooney.com offers visitors a plethora of information and a chance to share perspectives–and even create a personal "Mooniac blog"--to site visitors. "We know that Mooney owners are the best sales representatives we have and that we should give them a platform from which to tell their stories," noted Cyndi Roth, Mooney's Director of Marketing Communications. "It wasn't hard to decide what the next step in our ongoing 'dialogue' with members of the Mooney family should be once we began exploring ways to include inputs from Mooney's loyal base of customers in our communications efforts," Roth added. Mooney Names Thomas D. Canavera Senior Director of Delivery Services

Kerrville, Texas–Mooney Airplane Company has selected Thomas D. Canavera, a veteran general aviation manager and former Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association (MAPA) Executive Director, to oversee its customer delivery activities as Senior Director, Delivery Services. In his new role Mr. Canavera will be responsible for directing all aspects of aircraft deliveries to new customers from the Mooney factory.

"Tom is certainly no stranger to the Mooney family, having been an integral player in the development of the Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association into what it is today," said Dennis Ferguson, Mooney's Chief Executive Officer (CEO). "In 1991, as a sales and office manager with Falcon Insurance Agency, Tom helped negotiate the purchase of MAPA and the implementation of a combined insurance premium/ membership arrangement that allowed the organization to grow and reach nearly 75% of the Mooney fleet. He brings a strong, customer-oriented perspective to the very important role of senior director of delivery operations, and his familiarity with Mooney and so many of our customers, will be extraordinary assets as we continue our efforts to make every aspect of Mooney ownership, from initial order, through delivery and ongoing support, world class."

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Canavera began his aviation career in 1981 as an insurance underwriter with Global Aviation Insurance Group of Dallas, Texas. He moved to Van Gilder & Son as an advertising sales representative for FLYING magazine and the WORLD AVIATION DIRECTORY from 1984 to 1989, and then joined Falcon Insurance Agency. There he also began his involvement with MAPA, serving as Administrator to the MAPA Safety Foundation, increasing training course events registrations and capacity, as well as membership enrollments. He was Executive Director of the organization and Editor of MAPA LOG from 1991 until 1999.

In 2001, he was named Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sierra Industries, a Cessna Citation maintenance, performance enhancement, avionics, and aircraft sales facility in Uvalde, Texas where he led the company's entry into the Very Light Jet (VLJ) marketplace and helped Sierra increase its maintenance revenues over a five-year period. In 2006, he became General Manager of Lone Star Aero, a fixed base operator and authorized service facility for Mooney and several other airframe and component manufacturers located on San Antonio's International Airport.

A licensed pilot, Canavera has logged nearly 700 hours, virtually all of which have been flown in Mooneys. He and his wife, Nancy, are the parents of three grown children. The couple currently resides in San Antonio.

Assembly-line workers at the firm's production plant on Al Mooney Drive at Kerrville's Louis Schreiner Field got creative as they decorated a new Mooney Acclaim with photos of Spurs' players Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Matt Bonner and emblazoned "Go Spurs Go" on the airplane's windows. "It provides a way for our employees to express their supportand keep their focus on their work," noted Hank Engel Mooney's Director of Human Resources. Mooney Names McCoury Vice President of Engineering

Kerrville, Texas–Mooney Airplane Company has announced the appointment of a veteran aviation executive to lead its engineering efforts. John McCoury, who has spent 24 years leading aircraft development programs for a variety of aviation companies including Aviation Technology Group (ATG) of Englewood, Colorado and Eclipse Aviation Corporation of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has joined Mooney as vice president of engineering. He will report to Mooney's president and chief executive officer (CEO) Dennis Ferguson and be based at Mooney's headquarters in Kerrville, Texas.

"John McCoury is not only familiar with our products and our marketplace, he brings a solid background in new product development to Mooney, as well, having been intimately involved in the development of both the Eclipse 500 at Eclipse and the Javelin at ATG. That experience will stand us in good stead as we consider future product development. His appointment further enhances our already strong leadership team," he added.

Mr. McCoury is a 1982 graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Designated Engineering Representative (DER) in Structures, as well. Since beginning his professional career in 1983 at Martin Marietta Corporation as a stress engineer, he held a series of increasingly responsible engineering roles at Northrop, LTV Aircraft Products Group, Raytheon Systems Company (now L-3 Communications), and the Universities Space Research Association (USRA), prior to moving to Eclipse as Director of Structural Analyses and Materials in July of 2000 and to ATG as Vice President of Engineering and Chief Engineer in September of 2006.

Mooney Names Jon Greenwood Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Kerrville, Texas–Mooney Airplane Company has announced the appointment of Jon D. Greenwood to the position of vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). He replaces Barry Hodkin, who has been appointed vice president of corporate planning for the Kerrville, Texas-based airframe manufacturer.

Mr. Greenwood most recently held the position of vice president of finance for San Antonio-based M7 Aerospace. He will report to Mooney's president and chief executive officer (CEO) Dennis Ferguson and be based in Kerrville.

"Jon Greenwood brings outstanding credentials to his new role at Mooney," noted Ferguson. "We're extremely pleased that he has joined our management team. His industry background is, of course, a plus, as is his knowledge and experience in managing information systems. He will also oversee that function at Mooney, in addition to Accounting and Finance," he added.

Mr. Greenwood earned a Bachelor of Science in Business–Administrative Studies with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance from the University of California, Riverside in 1992. While still an undergraduate, he held a senior financial position at Datatronics Romoland, Inc., a manufacturer of miniature electronic components used in military systems and medical devices. He joined MDI, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDII) in 1997 as a Division Controller / Director of Customer Service, moving up to Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at the high tech, electronic security company over the next eight years. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Finance at M7 Aerospace (formerly Fairchild / Dornier) where his responsibilities included oversight of all information technology (IT) and telecommunications as well as leading the accounting and finance functions for the aerospace maintenance, repair and logistics provider.

World's Fastest Piston Single, the Mooney Acclaim, Takes Center Stage at Sun 'N Fun Fly-In Mooney's Performance Leader Makes First Appearance Since Being Certified at Venue Where it Was Announced in 2006

Lakeland, Florida–Speed–and exceptional value–will be on display at the Mooney Airplane Company's exhibit at the annual Sun 'N Fun Fly-in in Lakeland, Florida, April 17-23, 2007. The company's flagship, the 280 horsepower, turbo-normalized Acclaim, will make its first appearance at a trade show since receiving Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in December of 2006 and it will do so at the same place where it was first unveiled in a dramatic presentation one year ago. Since then, more than 25 Acclaims have been delivered and the airplane has established a new cross-country speed record for aircraft in its class by flying from San Diego, California to Charlotte, North Carolina in an elapsed time of 7 hours and 26 minutes on April 6, 2007. Noted aviation author Scott Perdue, who served as the pilot for the record dash, averaged 241 knots (277 mph) over the 1,800 mile distance.

Priced at $579,900, the Acclaim is powered by a 280 horsepower Teledyne Continental Motors IO 550-G engine equipped with dual Garrett turbochargers that allow it to maintain sea level manifold pressure all the way to its service ceiling of 25,000 feet. Its maximum cruise speed of 237 knots at that altitude makes it the fastest piston-engine powered single engine airplane on the market.   Even at a lower cruising altitude of 10,000 feet, the Acclaim will exceed 200 KTAS, making it the fastest airplane in its class, as well. With optional 130 gallon tanks, it provides an impressive 1,840 nautical miles of non-stop range with IFR reserves.

"The Acclaim has taken the piston single marketplace by storm," stated David Copeland, Mooney's vice president of sales and marketing. "The demand for the airplane has been extremely gratifyingas have been the reactions of our customers who have taken delivery and begun operating their Acclaims in routine service. The Acclaim comes equipped with Garmin's G1000 avionics suite and GFC 700 autopilot as standard. A TKS anti-icing system and is currently being certified for flight into known icing.

Mooney's New Acclaim Sets Cross Country Speed Record Between San Diego, California and Charlotte, North Carolina

KERRVILLE, TX–Mooney Airplane Company's new M 20TN Acclaim reinforced its position as the world's fastest single engine piston aircraft in a dramatic and impressive way on April 6, 2007 by establishing a new cross country speed record over a recognized course between San Diego, California and Charlotte, North Carolina. Noted aviation reporter and author Scott Perdue piloted the airplane from overhead San Diego's Gillespie Field to Charlotte in a total elapsed time of 7 hours and 26 minutes over more than 1800 nautical miles. He landed at nearby Concord Regional Airport.

Perdue departed Gillespie Field at 2:38 AM local time and climbed to an altitude of 23,000 feet, cruising at 223 knots True Airspeed for 4 hours and 4 minutes, on a fuel endurance run before descending for a refueling stop at Norman, Oklahoma. A quick turnaround was accomplished in 10 minutes and Perdue took off at 9:13 AM local time, climbing directly to 25,000 feet where he achieved 237 knots True Airspeed over-flying the Charlotte VOR at 1:05 PM local time. His time between Oklahoma and Charlotte worked out to 2 hours and 52 minutes.

The Mooney Acclaim is the world's fastest aircraft powered by a single piston engine currently in production. It possesses an advertised maximum cruise speed of 237 knots at its service ceiling of 25,000 feet. Details of the cross country flight have been submitted to the National Aeronautics Association (NAA) for review and certification for piston powered aircraft in the 2,205-3,358 lb. category. Both individual segments of the flight, as well as the entire cross-country trip have been presented to the NAA for consideration. Perdue averaged 278.37 miles per hour between San Diego and Charlotte, including the time consumed during the fuel stop in Oklahoma. He recorded average speeds of 279.62 miles per hour from San Diego to Oklahoma City and 325.60 miles per hour from Oklahoma City to Charlotte.

Scott Perdue, who served in both the United States Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force, has written extensively on his flying experiences as a contributor to PLANE & PILOT magazine. He is also the author of a novel entitled Pale Moon Rising. A long-time aircraft owner and pilot, he has logged more than 6000 hours in a vast variety of aircraft. "I was the first to fly the Mooney Acclaim for a pilot report last year and I was very impressed with its performance. The ability to maintain Sea Level manifold pressure into the Twenties really makes a huge difference for cross-country trips, while still being easy on the engine. This record-setting flight gave me the opportunity to try out the Acclaim's exceptional climb capabilities and fuel economy in the real world. I wanted to see just what the airplane would do, by the book, without extraordinary measures or speed tricks. I was able to take full advantage of favorable winds aloft, get above the majority of the weather, and even though I had to shoot an approach at my fuel stop I was able to average better than 241 knots for the entire trip. I easily achieved the 237 KTAS advertised speed with plenty of power to spare and I'm positive I could have gone faster, but my objective was to fly the airplane as any other Mooney pilot would. I've run out of superlatives to describe the performance of the airplane and the seamless integration of the G1000 panel. It was cool, there's no doubt about it!" he said.

"We don't need speed records to demonstrate the Acclaim's world class performance, "said David Copeland, Mooney's vice president of sales and marketing. "The results of this trip reinforce the airplane's exceptional versatility and illustrates that it's a viable–and economical–choice for personal travel. Scott left the West Coast and arrived on the East Coast just after lunch time, with plenty of time to spare to conduct a business meeting. With that speed and endurance, a trip of this distance can be completed in the same amount of time, or less, than a business twin for quite a bit less cost. The airlines may be able to beat the Acclaim chock-to-chock, but they sure can't beat the utility and flexibility of this airplane! It can land at airports that a lot of business jets can't use, allowing Mooney passengers to cut their ground commute considerably," he added.

"Even with standard tanks, this trip was accomplished with plenty of reserves. Equipped with the Garmin G1000 avionics package and GFC 700 autopilot, the Acclaim offers its operators extraordinary value," Copeland stated. Mooney is participating in the Sun "N Fun for the fourth consecutive year.

Kerrville, Texas–Mooney Airplane Company is branching out, expanding on its role as the producer of general aviation's fastest single engine piston airplanes, to become a match maker. "The 'Mooney Match' program was actually unveiled on Valentine's Day," noted the firm's Vice President of Sales and Marketing David Copeland. "We couldn't pass up such an obvious opportunity to introduce a program that is designed not only to match customers with the right airplane, but to bring potential buyers with compatible usage profiles and geographic locations together, as well," he observed.

The "Mooney Match" plan is based on an interactive computer-based registration program. Potential customers who visit the www.mooney.com website can click on the "Mooney Match" icon which will open onto a questionnaire designed to gather information on their preferences regarding model, accessories, anticipated amounts and types of flight requirements, and their location and willingness to participate in the joint ownership of an aircraft. Mooney Team Representatives will match two or more compatible prospects and present the selected candidates with a proposal for consideration.

"We do the legwork to bring customers together, and we'll even provide them with assistance in creating the partnerships," Copeland explained. "Joint ownership differs from fractional share programs in several key ways. Partners in the aircraft are recognized as owners by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and their names appear on the aircraft registration. They share jointly in the tax advantages and can spread the operating costs equally. They also realize significant additional savings over typical fractional ownership, because they aren't saddled with any monthly management fees or added markups on fixed costs, such as hangar rentals or maintenance. In fact, as an incentive to the first ten participants who end up purchasing a Mooney together, we're providing free fuel for their airplanes for the first year," Copeland explained.
The "Mooney Match" program will run through the end of the year, Copeland said, and may be extended, depending on response. "Our aim is to leverage all aspects of the program to benefit the partners," he concluded.

Mooney Names Lee Uecker as Sales Representative in California

KERRVILLE, TX– Mooney Airplane Company has named Lee Uecker of Kerrville, Texas as its Mooney Team Representative (MTR) for California. He will be relocating to the Golden State in the near future.

"We're pleased to welcome Lee to our team of Mooney representatives. He brings experience in sales and an excellent technical background to his new role," said David J. Copeland, Mooney vice president of sales and marketing. "Lee has a solid background in aviation and has already demonstrated familiarity with our products and a commitment to our customer-first approach to selling. With our family of high performance aircraft–the fastest in their market segments–the Acclaim, Ovation 3, and the Ovation2 GX, we see significant opportunities in California. It's an important market for us with a significant number of Mooney's already based there and a growing demand for high performance, economical transportation alternatives," he added. Uecker's appointment became effective March 9, 2007.

A native of California, Uecker attended high school in Salinas. While still in high school he worked for Million Air, a fixed base operator at the Monterey (CA) Peninsula Airport. He attended LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science and a concentration in Flight Management. He is a commercial, multi-engine and instrument-rated pilot.

While attending LeTourneau, he served as General Manager of KRS Express Aviation in Longview, overseeing all aspects of the operation. He also has extensive sales experience and spent most of 2006 in a sales support position with Columbia Aircraft, prior to joining Mooney.

Mooney and Jeppesen Will Offer NavData Bundle on New Aircraft

Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company and Jeppesen have announced a program which will allow customers of new Mooney Ovation2 GX, Ovation3 and Acclaim airplanes to take delivery of their new aircraft with Jeppesen’s NavData services and electronic charts preloaded onto their Garmin G1000 avionics systems.
“Under this program, all of the Jeppesen hardware and software required to set up and maintain current NavData and electronic charts will be included as part of the initial aircraft delivery package,” explained David Copeland, Mooney vice president of sales and marketing. “The beginning of the NavData and electronic charts subscriptions will coincide with the aircraft delivery date and will provide customers with extensive, up to date navigational and operational data that is tailored to their airplane,” he added.
The Jeppesen-Mooney bundle comes complete with an Aviator bag which holds the G1000 NavData Starter kit, JeppView digital charts for the Multi-Function Display (MFD), a binder, tabs, and paper enroute charts. The navigational information can be ordered for a variety of coverage areas, including the full USA, the Central, East, West or combined Central and East or Central and West options. For travelers who plan to go beyond the borders of the contiguous 48 states of the US, international coverage options include Canada and Alaska, Latin America, South America, Central Europe and Australia. JeppView revisions are also available for France, Germany, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as Central Europe.
“We’ve worked closely with Mooney to make the Jeppesen bundle easy to order, acquire and use,” said Tim Howard, Jeppesen’s Strategic Account Manager, Aviation Data Services. “We’ve tailored a website for Mooney operators to simplify the ordering and updating process and make the integration of the data a seamless operation. We believe that new Mooney owners will not only be impressed with the extent and convenience of the Jeppesen Mooney bundle, but they’ll find it a valuable and essential option,” Howard concluded. Under the terms of the agreement between Mooney and Jeppesen, the cost of the initial subscription, software and hardware will be included in the purchase price of the aircraft. Airbag Restraint Kits Available for M20J, K, M, R, S model line.

Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company and AmSafe, Inc. have announced the availability of AmSafe Aviation Inflatable Restraints (AAIR®) retrofit kits for Mooney airplanes. The airbag systems are currently standard equipment on new Mooney Acclaims, Ovation 2GXs and Ovation3s. They have been offered on new Mooneys since 2004. The retrofit kits will be available exclusively through Mooney’s Authorized Service Center network, which includes more than 65 locations, worldwide.

The aircraft to which the retrofit applies are shown by model and serial number below:

“We’ve received numerous requests to have the AmSafe AAIR systems installed in Mooney legacy aircraft,” said Al Nitchman, Mooney’s vice president of customer support. “We are very pleased to be able to offer these life-saving devices—which have proven to be very popular in our new aircraft. By providing an airbag that deploys up and away from the occupant, these seatbelts offer protection similar to that available in automobiles equipped with airbags,” he explained.

The system is available in three separate configurations:

Mooney owners wishing to order the AAIR systems can do so by contacting their Mooney Service Center and specifying the color and configuration they require— 4 place or 2 place--in grey or tan. Mooney Names Washburn Vice President of Programs & New Business

Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company has announced the appointment of veteran aviation executive Floyd W. Washburn, to the position of Vice President of Programs & New Business. Washburn joined the Kerrville, Texas-based general aviation airframe manufacturer from Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, Georgia, where he spent the past 19 years, serving most recently as program director for Multi-Mission aircraft.

“Floyd Washburn has demonstrated his ability to lead project teams effectively over his entire career in aviation, which spans nearly a quarter of a century,” noted Dennis Ferguson, Mooney president and chief executive officer. “He has an outstanding record in program and product management. Our operations will benefit greatly from both his administrative and his technical expertise,” he added.

Mr. Washburn is a 1969 graduate of what was then known as Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Industrial Engineering. He received a dual master’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1979—one in mathematics with an emphasis in statistics and another in Management and Administrative Science with an emphasis in finance.

After beginning his career as a planning and control manager at Texas Instruments in 1972, Mr. Washburn moved into the aerospace industry as a product line manager for Tracor Aerospace in 1983. In 1988 he joined Gulfstream Aerospace as Manager of Program Management Services and subsequently progressed into program management roles for Cargo Door Modifications, Medevac Aircraft development, and Maritime Search and Rescue programs. He was instrumental in the development, direction and negotiation of numerous US government, domestic and foreign contracts while at Gulfstream.

A licensed, instrument-rated pilot, he is also a Mooney owner.

Kerrville, Texas— Mooney Airplane Company has added four facilities to its list of authorized Mooney Service Centers (MSC). The four new domestic sites bring the total number of U.S. service providers who have met the company’s specific service and support standards for its active fleet of approximately 7,700 aircraft to sixty four. The new MSCs are:
• Eastern Air Center Inc. in Norwood, Massachusetts;
• General Aviation in Conroe, Texas
• Silverhawk Aviation in Lincoln Nebraska; and
• US Aviation Group in Denton, Texas

“The Mooney Service Center network continues to grow and increase the convenience and their choices for our operators,” said Al Nitchman, Mooney’s vice president of customer service. “All of our newly named sites have demonstrated that they can provide the same consistent quality that Mooney operators receive at the Factory Service Center. It’s our goal to ensure that our customers are satisfied with the service and parts support they receive no matter where they are and no matter when they need it,” he added.

Daytona Beach, Florida— Matt Kenseth, who finished second in NASCAR’s NEXTEL Cup Series in 2006, isn’t leaving his “need for speed” behind the wheel of his racecar as he prepares for the upcoming Daytona 500. The popular driver, who won four times last year, has been setting a rapid pace this month as he commutes between his home in Mooresville, North Carolina and Daytona in his new Mooney Acclaim, the world’s fastest single piston engine airplane. He took delivery of his new airplane in December.
Kenseth, a native of Wisconsin, returned to his home state last summer to ink a purchase agreement at the annual Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The newest addition to the Mooney product family, the turbo-normalized Acclaim will cruise at 237 knots at 25,000 feet. It’s equipped with Garmin’s G1000 avionics suite which features two flat panel liquid crystal displays, a GDL69A weather uplink with XM satellite radio, and a GTX 330 mode “S” transponder. A new GFC 700 autopilot is also standard on the Acclaim. Premier Aircraft Sales of Fort Lauderdale, Florida helped Kenseth get together with Mooney officials and completed the deal following a meeting at Oshkosh.
In ’06, Kenseth set career highs in top-five finishes (15), laps led (1132), and average finish (9.8) in a single season. A licensed private pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings, he owns other aircraft but says he enjoys commuting to Daytona and other NASCAR racing venues in his 280 horsepower, turbo-normalized Acclaim.
Mooney has delivered more than 20 Acclaims since receiving Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification during the last week of December, 2006. With a maximum cruise speed of 237 knots, the Acclaim has a list price of $579,900.

“Mooney Match” Program Offers Benefits Over Fractional Share Plans

Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company announced today that it is launching a program to bring together potential partners for the purchase of a high performance single engine airplane from its line of standard-setting piston aircraft. “The ‘Mooney Match’ program was unveiled, fittingly, on Valentine’s Day,” noted the firm’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing David Copeland. “We couldn’t pass up such an obvious opportunity to announce a program that will be designed to bring potential buyers with compatible usage profiles and geographic locations together,” he observed.

The “Mooney Match” plan will be based on an interactive computer-based registration program. Both will open onto a questionnaire designed to gather information on the model, accessories, anticipated amounts and types of flight requirements, location and willingness to participate in the joint ownership of an aircraft. “We’ll do the legwork to bring customers together, and we’ll even provide them with assistance in creating the relationships,” Copeland explained. “Joint ownership differs from fractional share programs in several key ways. Partners in the aircraft are recognized as owners by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and their names will appear on the aircraft registration. They will share jointly in the tax advantages and can spread the operating costs equally. They can realize significant additional savings over typical fractional ownership, too, because they won’t be saddled with any monthly management fees or added markups on fixed costs, such as hangar rentals or maintenance. In fact, as an incentive to the first ten participants who end up purchasing a Mooney together, we’ll provide free fuel for their airplanes for the first year,” Copeland explained.

Deliveries Begin for Fastest Mooney Ever

Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company announced today that the M20 TN Acclaim has received its final certification from the Federal Aviation Administration and deliveries are expected to begin immediately. The fastest Mooney ever produced the 280 horsepower Acclaim cruises at a true air speed of 237 knots (KTAS) at its service ceiling of 25,000 feet. Even at a lower cruising altitude of 10,000 feet, it will exceed 200 KTAS, making it the fastest airplane in its class.
    “With the certification of the Acclaim, the debate is over,” said David Copeland, Mooney’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Now there’s no question which single engine piston airplane can claim the title as the ‘fastest’ since the Acclaim clearly boasts the highest maximum cruise speed and it is now officially ‘in service.’ We’re pleased that we were able to bring this airplane to the marketplace expeditiously and we’re confident that the enthusiasm and acceptance of the Acclaim will continue to grow, as well,” he added.
The Acclaim is powered by a 280 horsepower Teledyne Continental TSIO-550-G turbo-normalized engine equipped with twin turbochargers and dual intercoolers, turning a three-bladed Hartzell propeller. When ordered with optional 130 gallon long-range fuel tanks, it can fly up to 1,615 nautical miles (nm) while maintaining a 200 knot cruise speed.
    Announced at the annual Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In in Lakeland, Florida in April, 2006, the Acclaim generated immediate interest and a significant backlog of orders. It offers an impressive 20% increase in cruise speed over its predecessor, the Bravo, which it replaced in the product line.   The Acclaim features the popular Garmin G1000 avionics package as standard and is available with the Garmin GFC 700 autopilot, air conditioning and the industry’s only factory-installed, FAA-approved flight-into-known-icing package, as well.

Orlando, FL— Mooney Airplane Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mooney Aerospace Group, Ltd., has announced that its Acclaim and Ovation2 GX and Ovation3 models can now be equipped with Garmin’s new GFC 700 autopilot following Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification of the installation on all three models. The revolutionary new GFC 700 is a three axis, fully digital, dual channel, fail passive Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS). It features roll, pitch and yaw control, with automatic Pitch Trim and Mach Trim control, and additional features not found in other autopilots. As general aviation's first and only fully integrated avionics system, the GFC 700 is capable of using all of the data available to the G1000, including the ability to maintain airspeed references and to optimize performance over the entire airspeed envelope.

Demonstrations Slated for Six Sites by Year's End

Kerrville, Texas—Following successful displays at the National Business Aviation Association Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando, Florida in October and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s Annual Expo in Palm Springs, California, November 9-11, Mooney Airplane Company is launching a multi-city tour with its two newest models, the Acclaim and Ovation3. Beginning Friday and Saturday, November 17 and 18 at Flightcraft’s Portland International Airport site in Oregon, the tour will eventually encompass more than a dozen stops by the end of the first quarter of 2007.

“Both the Acclaim and the Ovation3 generated great interest during the NBAA and AOPA shows,” noted David Copeland, Mooney’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “As the fastest single engine airplanes currently in production, they inspired what we’re calling the Lead With Speed tour. It seemed pretty obvious to us that we should take demo airplanes to additional customers and prospects that didn’t get a chance to see them in Orlando and Palm Springs,” he pointed out. “Our Mooney Team Representatives will host weekend events at five regional sites between now and the end of the year and we’ll continue to offer demonstration flights at a variety of additional locations after the first of the year,” he added.

Following the Portland event, the Lead With Speed tour will make concurrent stops at Wichita, Kansas’s Jabara Airport and DuPage County Airport in West Chicago, Illinois during the weekend of December 1 and 2 . The following weekend, a new Acclaim and Ovation3 will be available at AeroServ Express in Smithfield, Rhode Island and at SunAir Jets in Camarillo, California. An additional stop is possible during the weekend of December 15 and 16. It, along with locations for tour events during January and February, will be announced in the near future.

Copeland noted that the Acclaim is scheduled to receive Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification shortly and will begin customer deliveries immediately. “We’ll be working to deliver airplanes to our initial customers before the end of the year, but we’ll also make sure we have aircraft available to allow interested prospects to get a first hand look at the two latest versions of the M20, both of which are the fastest airplanes in their market segments,” he said.

KERRVILLE, Texas – Mooney Aerospace Group, Ltd. (OTC BB: MNYG.ob) announced today that MAG Holding Corp, the holder of more than 90% of the outstanding stock of Mooney Aerospace, has filed a certificate of ownership and merger with the Delaware Secretary of State, thereby merging MAG Holding with and into Mooney Aerospace. As a result of the merger, all outstanding shares of Mooney Aerospace common stock not held by MAG will be cancelled and converted into the right to receive a payment of $0.35 per share, subject to such common stockholders’ appraisal rights under Delaware law.

Mooney Aerospace will mail a formal notice of merger to each person who was a stockholder of record at the effective time of the merger. The notice will include instructions as to the procedures to be followed for obtaining payment and other information regarding such stockholders’ rights under Delaware law. Beneficial owners of Mooney Aerospace shares through brokerage or other nominee accounts should receive information from their broker or other nominee regarding procedures for obtaining payment of the merger consideration.

Mooney Aerospace intends to promptly file a Form 15 with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission to deregister its common stock under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

As a result of the merger and deregistration, Mooney Aerospace will cease to be a publicly reporting company and the Mooney Aerospace common stock will cease to be publicly traded on the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board in the near future.

Mooney Airplane Company will continue to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mooney Aerospace.

He finished fourth in Sunday's Chase for the NEXTEL Cup race at Talladega. Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mooney Aerospace Group, Ltd. (OTC BB: MNYG.ob) will feature the industry’s two fastest single engine airplanes, the turbo-normalized Acclaim and the 310 horsepower Ovation3, in its exhibit at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA’s) annual AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, July 24-30. Both aircraft joined the Mooney family earlier this year when Mooney introduced two new models within two months of each other. The EAA AirVenture display will be the first time the two latest additions to the Mooney product line will be presented together. The popular Ovation2 GX will also be displayed.

Priced at $453,500, the Ovation3 offers all the amenities and features of the Ovation2 GX, but with a 310 horsepower, normally aspirated Teledyne Continental Motors IO 550-G/AP engine that improves climb and cruise performance. It allows the Ovation3 to take off in a shorter distance and cruise as much as 7 knots faster than the 280 horsepower Ovation2 GX, depending on altitude. It’s the fastest normally-aspirated, piston-engine powered single engine airplane on the market.

The Acclaim, which has replaced the Bravo in the company’s product line, is the fastest Mooney ever produced, cruising at a true air speed of 237 knots (KTAS) at its service ceiling of 25,000 feet. Even at a lower cruising altitude of 10,000 feet, the Acclaim will exceed 200 KTAS, making it the fastest airplane in its class, as well.

(OTC BB: MNYG.ob), has agreed to sponsor the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA’s) trams which provide transportation throughout the site of the Association’s annual AirVenture Fly-In, July 24-30 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The sponsorship allows Mooney to place logo signs on all of the trams which service static display, aircraft exhibit, camp grounds and the EAA Museum site from 8 AM to 8 PM throughout the six-day event. Revenues top $19 Million; Two New Models Announced

Kerrville, Texas— Mooney Airplane Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mooney Aerospace Group, Ltd. (OTC BB: MNYG.ob), delivered 22 aircraft valued at $9.7 million during the second quarter in 2006. The quarterly figures bring the company’s total sales revenue for the year to slightly more than $19 million—a nearly 5% increase over the same period a year ago. All 22 airplanes delivered during the quarter were Ovation2 GX models. Mooney delivered 20 aircraft, 15 Ovation2 GXs and 5 Bravo GXs, valued at approximately $9.3 million, during the first quarter of the year.

Also during the quarter, Mooney announced the availability of two new models, the 280 horsepower, turbo-normalized Acclaim, and the 310 horsepower, normally-aspirated Ovation3. Both are the fastest single engine piston powered airplanes in their class and both will begin deliveries during 2006.

“We continue to ‘raise the bar’ at Mooney, both in the performance of our aircraft and in terms of our overall performance as a company,” said David Copeland, Mooney’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It is rare to announce and begin deliveries of a new model in the same calendar year,” he noted, “but to introduce two new models within 60 days of each other is virtually unheard of. Mooney airplanes are known for their performance and the people who build and service them are, too. This is just another example of our commitment to meet the needs and desires of our customers as rapidly and completely as we can,” he added.

“Our manufacturing and flight test teams deserve special recognition for allowing
us to maintain our delivery rates while replacing the Bravo with the Acclaim and adding
the Ovation3 to the production schedule,” Copeland stated. “We are on track to meet our projections for the year. Meanwhile, interest in both the Acclaim and the Ovation3 has also been very gratifying. That combination is making our 60th year a memorable one,” he concluded.

Mooney expects to begin Ovation3 deliveries within a matter of weeks and projects completion of the Acclaim flight test program and initial deliveries of the “world’s fastest piston-engine single” by year’s end.

Mooney Caravan Heads For EAA AirVenture
Ninth Annual Fly-In Expected to Attract Nearly 50 Aircraft

Kerrville, Texas— Operators of Mooney models, from vintage to virtually new will gather for a ninth consecutive year in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 22 to fly together, in loose formation, to EAA’s AirVenture 2006 at Oshkosh. Since 1998, when several Mooney owners posed the possibility of going to Oshkosh together in a Mooney-related chat room on the internet, “Mooniacs” have been making the annual trek to the world’s largest aviation gathering as a group. This year, organizers expect approximately 50 operators to take part.

Mooney owners Jonathan Paul and Akmal Khan led the planning of this year’s Caravan. Operators have been divided into eight groups of six aircraft each. Leaders from each group will be briefed regarding departure from Madison, en route procedures and Oshkosh arrival. “We operate under very specific, well-defined parameters in order to ensure safety,” noted Caravan spokesman and long-time participant Jody Voss. “We have an FAA Air Traffic Controller, Bill Rabeck, who works for the Atlanta ARTCC, and he acts as our liaison with EAA and the FAA. We also fly a ‘loose’ formation, with the airplanes between a quarter and half mile of each other rather than wingtip to wingtip so that special training isn’t required. It’s a lot of fun and the controllers at Oshkosh are extremely efficient. They provide us with an arrival window and alternate us for landing on parallel runways so we’re able to stay together and arrive as a group at the camping area,” he added.

The Mooney Caravan will also host its annual Mooney Barbeque at the group’s campsite on Monday evening, July 24 beginning at 6:00 PM. Annual awards and guest
speakers from the Mooney Airplane Pilots Association and the Mooney factory will be on the agenda.

Mooney Expands Parts Database
More than 11,000 part numbers added to Illustrated Parts Catalog

Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mooney Aerospace Group, Ltd. (OTC BB: MNYG.ob), has dramatically expanded the capability of its Service Parts WebPortal with the inclusion of more than 11,000 additional part numbers in the online ordering system’s Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC). The service, which allows Mooney Service Centers (MSCs) to order parts over the internet, was launched in the spring of 2006.

“As with many new online services, we’ve had to negotiate a rather steep initial learning curve,” noted Bill Wenzel, Mooney’s director of technical/products support. “Early users discovered that a significant percentage of orders were being rejected due to ‘inaccurate’ part numbers. An investigation revealed that numerous older model specific parts, listed in outdated parts catalogs, had not been included in the initial load. When these part numbers were ordered, they generated an error message and the order was rejected. Through thorough research and significant interaction among a variety of departments, we’ve been able to collect a lot of those part numbers, load them into a common source file, and add them to the WebPortal database,” he explained.

“This accomplishment is the result of an outstanding, extensive team effort,” said Al Nitchman, vice president of customer support at Mooney. “It’s significant because it’s another visible example of our ongoing effort to be more responsive to our customer base. We know that this step won’t eliminate all of the parts availability issues, but it goes a long way towards allowing us to accurately track commonly ordered parts and establish realistic pricing and timeframes for acquiring parts that are out of stock or out of production. Now, when an order includes an older part number, we will acknowledge that it is a viable reference and will proceed to verify availability. If it’s not in inventory or production, we’ll respond accordingly and do what we can to assist the MSC in solving the issue. At the same time, we will continue this effort to identify older parts and add them to the database,” he stated.

Gretchen Jahn and Teammate Carol Foy Pilot Ovation2 GX to Win

Kerrville, Texas— Gretchen Jahn, Chief Executive Officer of Mooney Airplane Company, and her teammate Carol Foy flew a Mooney M20 R Ovation2 GX to victory in the 2006 Air Race Classic. They covered the 2,400 mile transcontinental course from Mesa, Arizona to Menominee, Michigan between June 20 and 22, recording an average speed more than 21 knots higher than their handicapped speed of 174.23 knots. They beat their nearest competitors in the field of 37 aircraft by 1.51 knots.

Flying in her 14th Air Race Classic, Ms. Jahn won for the first time. This is her sixth Top Ten finish. She and teammate Chris Bentley finished second in both 1994 and 1995. This was also her second year piloting her Mooney Ovation2 GX, N366GJ, in the race. Last year, she and teammates Ruby Sheldon and Julie Filucci finished tenth over the round robin course which originated and terminated at Purdue University Airport in West Lafayette, Indiana. Her teammate this year, Ms. Foy, was flying in her 14th Air Race Classic, as well, having recorded three previous Top Ten finishes, as well.

“This event is one of the highlights of my year every year, but this year will obviously be a memorable one,” said Ms. Jahn, who was named Mooney’s Chief Executive Officer in October of 2004. A member of the Board of Directors for the Air Race Classic, she went on to say that “winning the race is a special experience—that is, after all, the goal we’re all out to accomplish each year—but I wouldn’t miss this opportunity to get together with and compete alongside these women. I am especially pleased to represent my colleagues and fellow employees at Mooney and Carol and I owe them a special ‘thank you’ for building us such a great airplane and helping us prepare for this race. They certainly deserve a great deal of credit for contributing to this victory,” she added. As winners, Ms. Jahn and Ms. Foy will split the $5,000 First Place cash prize.

The Air Race Classic traces its origins to the original Women’s Air Derby in 1929. Following World War II it was sponsored by the All Women’s Transcontinental Air Race (AWTAR), and known popularly as the Powder Puff Derby. It was held annually until 1977 when the AWTAR discontinued the event. The Air Race Classic, Ltd. (ARC) stepped in to continue the tradition of transcontinental speed competition for women pilots and staged its premier race. The Air Race Classic was reincorporated in 2002 into the Air Race Classic, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Contestants are usually given four days to cover the approximately 2,400 mile course, flying VFR in daylight hours, to reach the terminus. Each plane is assigned a handicap speed – and the goal is to have the actual ground speed be as far over the handicap speed as possible. The pilots are thus given the leeway to play the elements, holding out for better weather, winds, etc. The objective is to fly the “perfect” cross-country. In this type of race, the official standings cannot be released until the final entrant has crossed the finish line. Actually, the last arrival can be the winner. MOONEY OVATION2 GX SETS SPEED RECORD ENROUTE TO ANNUAL SUN 'N FUN FLY-IN

LAKELAND, FL—Mooney Airplane Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mooney Aerospace Group (MNYG.ob), announced today that its Vice President of Sales and Marketing and one of the company’s demonstration pilots established a new world record for speed over a recognized course in an Ovation2 GX on Sunday, April 2, 2006 enroute from Wichita, KS to Lakeland, Florida to attend the 32nd annual Sun’N Fun Fly-in.

David Copeland, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing, and co-pilot Justin Milam departed Wichita at 7:51 AM and climbed directly to an altitude of 17,000 feet. They averaged 221.4 knots over the 967 mile route, landing in Lakeland at 1:12 PM local time for a total elapsed time from lift-off to touchdown of 4 hours and 21 minutes.

The new record is the second in as many years for Mooney. A Bravo GX flown by Mooney’s chief of flight test Paul Arambide set a National Aeronautics Association (NAA)-sanctioned world record between Mooney’s factory site in Kerrville, Texas and Lakeland last year in 2 hours and 54 minutes. The details of this year’s Wichita-Lakeland record flight have also been submitted to the NAA for review and certification as a record for piston powered aircraft in the 2,205-3,358 lb. category.

“This speed record underscores the outstanding performance characteristics of the Ovation2…and makes it obvious that Mooneys continue to set the standard for speed and performance in their class,“ said Copeland. “The extended flight illustrates not only the exceptional speed of the aircraft, but the fuel efficiency and confidence that are part of the Mooney Ovation2’s standard package. Its Garmin G1000 avionics suite made precise navigation easy and helped shave time off the trip,” he added.

The record flight was accomplished with a crew of two plus luggage and boxes of air show materials on board. “Our average fuel burn was 11.9 gallons per hour and we landed with 28 gallons still available. No other aircraft in their class can match the efficiency of the Mooney products,” Copeland stated. Mooney is participating in the annual Sun ‘N Fun Fly-In for the third consecutive year.

Latest Addition to Product Line is Fastest Mooney Ever

Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Airplane Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mooney Aerospace Group, Ltd. (OTC BB: MNYG.ob), today unveiled a new, faster, more powerful and high-flying addition to its industry-leading family of high performance single engine, retractable gear aircraft, the M20 TN Acclaim. The newest Mooney, which will replace the Bravo in the company’s product line, is the fastest Mooney ever produced, cruising at a true air speed of 230 knots (KTAS) at its service ceiling of 25,000 feet. Even at a lower cruising altitude of 10,000 feet, the Acclaim will exceed 200 KTAS, making it the fastest airplane in its class.

With initial deliveries expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, the Acclaim is powered by a 280 horsepower Teledyne Continental TSIO-550-G turbo-normalized engine equipped with twin turbochargers and dual intercoolers, turning a three-bladed Hartzell propeller. When ordered with optional 130 gallon long-range fuel tanks, the Acclaim can fly up to 1,615 nautical miles (nm) while maintaining a 200 knot cruise speed. List price for the Acclaim will be $495,000.

JAMES D. WILCOX NAMED TO MOONEY AEROSPACE GROUP BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Kerrville, Texas—Mooney Aerospace Group, Ltd. (OTC BB: MNYG.ob) has elected James D. Wilcox to its board of directors, effective March 9, 2006. Mr. Wilcox is the founder and Principal of Pivotal Strategies, Inc., a firm providing interim executive management services to smaller and middle market businesses during periods of corporate transition. Since 2004, he has also served as an Executive-in-Residence at Watermill Ventures and is a member of its Investment Committee.

“We are very fortunate to have an executive of Mr. Wilcox’s expertise and experience join our Board. His strong manufacturing and financial management background will be of obvious value to Mooney as we continue to pursue our goals of increasing productivity and market share,” noted Mooney Chief Executive Officer Gretchen Jahn.

Prior to establishing Pivotal Strategies, Mr. Wilcox held a number of executive management positions. From 1998 to 1999 he served as CFO of Key Components, Inc., a holding company for a number of industrial manufacturers. From 1992 to 1998 he was with Systems Engineering and Manufacturing Corp., a manufacturer of custom engineered electroplating equipment and waste treatment systems, where he held a number of executive positions including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Wilcox received his B.A. in Economics from Ursinus College, his M.S. in Accounting from Northeastern University and he is also a CPA.

MOONEY DELIVERS MILESTONE AIRCRAFT

New Jersey executive Dennis Strigl receives 11,000th Mooney airplane

Kerrville, Texas— Mooney Airplane Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mooney Aerospace Group, Ltd. (OTC BB: MNYG.ob) has delivered its 11,000th production aircraft, an Ovation2 GX, to Dennis F. Strigl of New Jersey. The milestone airplane was handed over to Mr. Strigl at the company’s Kerrville, Texas delivery center on February 23, 2006. It is equipped with the popular Garmin G1000 avionics suite which features two flat panel liquid crystal displays, a GDL69A weather uplink with XIM satellite radio, a GTX 330 mode “S” transponder, and an STEC 55X autopilot.

Mr. Strigl is a veteran pilot who first flew a Mooney in the 1980s and retained his interest in the airplane even though he hadn’t been an active flyer for nearly 20 years. After deciding to enroll in training to revive his piloting skills, he went on to earn an instrument rating. A visit to the Mooney website led to a call to the factory and, eventually, a demonstration flight in a Mooney. The purchase of the milestone Ovation2 GX followed.

“I was extremely impressed with the speed and performance of the airplane, as well as the glass panel,” Mr. Strigl noted. “It didn’t take me long to get comfortable flying it. It’s very stable in cruise and slow flight and compared very favorably to the other aircraft I evaluated. I’m very pleased to be joining the ranks of Mooney owners,” he added.

David Copeland, Mooney’s vice president of sales and marketing commented on the milestone delivery: “Of course, surpassing 11,000 deliveries is important to us as a company. While not every one carries the same historic significance, we definitely want all of our Mooney owners and operators to feel the same sense of satisfaction and support that Dennis Strigl does with his new aircraft,” Mr. Copeland said. “We appreciate our customers’ loyalty and commitment to Mooney and we will do everything we can to ensure that it continues,” he added.

Mooney delivered its first airplane in 1948, from its initial location in Wichita, Kansas. A total of 66 were delivered during the company’s first full year of production. The firm moved to Kerrville in 1951. The 10,000th delivery plateau was surpassed in 1991. After delivering 34 aircraft in 2003 and 36 (including 18 GX models) in 2004, the company more than doubled its output in 2005 with 85 new airplanes entering service.
