NOTD Sally Hansen Salon Manicure,Midnight in NY and Oxide

I recently bought a haul of polishes from Poundland including quite a few of the Sally Hansen Salon Manicure polishes.

This is one is called Midnight in NY.Its a black polish with very fine glitter which is very hard to photograph,trust me its there.I tried taking a pic to show the fine glitter but its really hard to photograph.

And heres another shade I picked up Sally Hansen Salon Manicure shade Oxide.Its a gorgeous sparkly gunmetal dark silvery shade love it !!

These polishes are really good quality and come with a wide brush which I love they last quite a long time and you get by with 2 coats,well that's the shades I've tried. I've got a lot of shades now each time I pop into Poundland I always manage to find some good polish and they have been stocking these lately. Look out for Sally Hansen insta-dri too if you visit Poundland, they are fab polishes too !!

I used both shades for my NOTD Midnight in NY and Oxide on my index finger.I think my fave is the Oxide love how its a gunmetal but sparkly too.

I then put some Revlon Radiant which is a gorgeous turquoisey glitter which I won over Christmas from Revlon on Twitter,it arrived in post that day so I had to try it out on my pinky finger over the Midnight in NY :)

I`ll be doing some more NOTDs with my Poundland haul over next few days weeks so look out for them,and remember you don't have to spend a fortune ,get to Poundland check out there beauty section !! I'm going again tomorrow lets see what I come home with ;)

Directions Alpine Green and Turquoise Bleach and re-dye

I've not blogged properly for ages so this is my official 1st Blog post of 2013

Since last post I've gone from having very bright red/pink hair to a mix of Directions Alpine Green and Turquoise.This is the third time I've dyed it this mix,will probably be the last as I have a inkling to go back to reds/pinks/purples and fancy a pinky purple next time.

I started off with a very faded Alpine Green/Turquoise mix 50/50 ratio which I dyed back in October 2012,so it lasted pretty well and faded quite a nice colour.

I drenched my hair in coconut oil and left for at least an hour with a shower cap on to keep the heat in, as this can reduce damage done by the bleaching.I used Superdrug Coconut oil as I couldn't get hold of the pure stuff.The pure coconut oil which can be used for cooking is the best you can use but can sometimes be hard to get hold of.

I got all my stuff ready for the bleaching.The powder bleach and peroxide ,2 towels I bought from Poundland,two shower caps Poundland. Tresemme deep cleansing shampoo.The 2 Directions dyes 3/4 tub of Alpine Green 1/4 tub of Turquoise

The peroxide I used is 40% volume which is a bit too strong so I dilute it with shampoo and water,I really should be using a 30% volume peroxide.(note to self by 30% volume peroxide next time) You can also use box bleaches you can buy in Superdrug Boots etc I use this brand because I buy it in bulk as I use a lot of it every 3mths roughly and it works out cheaper.

I measured out roughly 40ml of bleach powder and 40ml of peroxide added them to tub and mixed well to nice creamy texture making sure there was no lumps

Then I added the same amount of Tresemme deep cleansing shampoo 40ml and a tiny bit of water as I was applying it to dry hair.It doesn't have to be Tresemme shampoo any will do but I find a clear one better as you can see it mix properly.Then I mixed the shampoo well into the bleach/peroxide mix.

Then I applied the mix to my hair starting at roots and then lengths and ends,as its mainly roots I wanted to bleach and just lighten the lengths a little to remove more of old colour.

I left mixture on and kept checking to see if it was light enough,once it was light enough at roots I rinsed and shampooed the excess bleach out and rinsed and rinsed.

Unfortunately I didn't leave the bleach on quite long enough and the roots were bit yellowy another 5/10mins would have done it ..ah well

I then got my Directions dyes Alpine Green and Turquoise (3/4 tub Alpine Green,1/4 tub Turquoise) mixed them together in plastic bowl and applied to my hair

It says on the instructions on Directions tub to leave for 15mins but I usually leave for at least an hour,some people even leave it on overnight as they're conditioning vegetable dyes wont do your hair any harm no matter how long you leave them on.I then put on my shower cap to keep the dye moist and not let it dry out and chilled out for an hour whilst it worked its magic.

After an hour I rinsed the dye off which is a chore as it takes hell of a lot of rinsing,it says on tub till water runs clear but that never happens,I did quick shampoo too to try and get rid of excess dye but you don't need to do this. After much rinsing and little bit of natural drying heres the finished job.

I wasnt too keen on the shade bit too dark and the roots look a fair bit lighter (ive found this happen with these colours each time ive used them roots look lighter never had this problem with reds/pinks)

Normally I would have left it and the colour would have lightened after a couple of washes but I'm going to Hawkwind gig on Friday in 3 days time so didn't have time for this.So I mixed up a concoction of head and shoulders shampoo,Tresemme Deep Cleansing shampoo and a squirt of BF`s shaving foam,these are all well known for fading hair colour.I put the mixture on dry hair and left with shower cap for about an hour and rinsed and did a good conditioning.The shade had lightened quite a bit and roots less noticeably lighter,I don't intend to wash hair again before Hawkwind gig just in case when I shampoo it makes roots even lighter. I've got some turquoise left so will probably go over roots again if they become noticeably lighter after couple of washes.

Well here it is voila Directions Alpine Green and Turquoise,what do you think? any comments good or bad appreciated,prefer this or the reds/pinks I used to be?

Hi there

I've not abandoned this ere Bloggy woggy,had no camera for awhile and obviously couldn't blog without one.

I was lucky enough to receive a nice new shiny camera for Christmas,so you poor people I'm going to be blogging again !!

Since I last blogged properly I've now developed an addiction to nail polish and bargain nail polish,no better feeling than handing over your £1 in Poundland for a lovely shiny sparkly polish you know costs £7 elsewhere.

Ive also gone from having bright Fire red hair to Turquoisey green , I'm re-dyeing it in next couple of days.

Will make my hair dyeing my official first blog post of 2013

MUA (Make-Up Academy) Haul

MUA (Make up Academy) as you know is only available in Superdrug at the moment,they are planning their own site to buy from as well,soon hopefully as Superdrug doesn't always have much stock instore and online.

Well its free postage online and there has been a 3 for 2 offer for a couple of weeks (its finished now boo hoo).I have been buying quite a lot mainly online,heres some pics of my recent haulage.

I`ll be doing reviews and swatches a little bit at a time as there's a lot to get through,and likely be more soon :)

Heres 2 of the MUA palettes Heaven & Earth and Starry Night,11 eye-shadows,1 eye-dust and a eye primer.

Pressed powder,blusher and 2 metallic liquid eye-liners

All 13 shades of lipstick,they are 3 more due out soon so I guess I`ll have to get them to complete collection :)

11/11/11 Black Sabbath re-unite alright now !!!

I was on Twitter yesterday reading Metal Hammers tweets,they had big announcement to make regarding Black Sabbath! I had a good idea what it was going to be as there's been rumours circulating for a while that Black Sabbath were getting back together.

They held a press conference and gave a official statement,they're reuniting with the original line-up after 33 long years.Whats more they are bringing out a new studio album in 2012 ,followed by a world tour and will be headlining Download Festival along with Metallica.

To say I'm excited is the understatement of the year, I've been a huge fan ever since I first heard them way back in the mists of time in the early 80`s.I was too young to catch them live before Ozzy left.They carried on with the late Ronnie James Dio(R.I.P),and also Ian Gillan and Tony Martin.

They then split and formed Heaven and Hell with Dio on vocals again,I missed seeing them too due to lack of funds. Luckily I saw Dio back in 84 on the Last in Line tour,oh boy he rocked my socks off,best gig I've been to !

Anyhoo I'm sooo excited, I've got to see them on tour this time,really hope they come to Manchester and I've got the funds,sod it I`ll sell my soul for tickets!!

Just thought I`d make a Blog post as I'm uber happy and excited.If anyone sees any Black Sabbath competitions,please, please give me a shout.Here`s a couple of pics then and now.

MUA (Make-Up Academy) Small Haul

I nipped into our local Superdrug other day and bought few MUA bits,I bought 4 lipsticks too but will be doing a separate post on those and I'm waiting for some more lipsticks & eyeshadows I've ordered online too.Intend to re-do the lipstick review when they arrive as I shall then have shades 1-13,and a separate post on the eye-shadows,I desperately want eye shadow shade 13 couldn't find instore and out of stock online.:(Right I'm waffling now heres pic of some of my latest MUA goodies.

Powder Shade 1

This powder seems a good match for my skin tone,feels lovely and soft and silky,and its a really generous amount for £1.The packaging is plain but its what's inside that counts and it doesn't come with a powder puff thingami,I use a brush anyway so that doesn't matter to me. I've not tried it properly yet over my foundation so will update once I have.

Nail Polish Shade 1

I like this shade its a very dark navy blue almost black with sparkles,really difficult to photograph.I had it on yesterday and it lasted really well no chips. I've swatched on a piece of paper as I couldn't be bothered doing my nails again.Only downside the writing on the bottle wears off really easily and also the shade number.

Liquid Eye-liners shade 1 and shade 3

Shade 1 is a gorgeous metallic green colour and shade 3 a metallic goldy colour.The applicator is a rubber kind of gizmo takes a bit of geting used to.These are a little on watery side,but if you apply and try not to smudge whilst they dry there fine.Heres pics on my eyes applied quite heavily so you can see it properly,excuse bad pic and my ugly wrinkly eyes ;)

3 in 1 Extreme Contour Pen -Black,3 in 1 Extreme Contour Pen -Brown

I really love this eye-liners,I like how they are tapered at one side for a fine line and other end is thick for a thicker dramatic line.They come in a really handy twist up pen which is great no mucking about with sharpening and stuff. They are so soft and nicely pigmented don't drag on the eye at all,would be great for a smoky eye.Heres a swatch not a brilliant one ..sorry

I bought a few more MUA bits instore and online,when they get delivered will be doing a review & swatches of the MUA lipsticks and single eye-shadows .

MUA (Make-Up Academy) Lipsticks

I've got 6 of the MUA lipsticks now and love them all.You`ve probably heard me raving on about MUA on other Blog posts,I really love the brand and love the prices even more! The lipsticks are really good nice and pigmented really soft to apply and quite long lasting.The beauty of them only being £1 is you can experiment with colours you`d not usually buy and if they don't suit you,you wont feel guilty cos youve not spent a small fortune.
I ordered mine online because my local Superdrug is really small and doesn't have much stock.heres a pic of the shades I bought.

Shade 1 is a really rich deep red very pigmented really love it,shade 2 is lovely colour too quite a natural shade,shade 3 is a lovely bright pink I really love this shade,shade 4 I was disappointed with it looks a bright Barbie like pink but when i apply it can hardly see it(I do have quite dark lips though) still ok for a natural look,shade 8 is a reddish colour with gold flecks its really nice colour when applied,shade 10 is another quite natural shade too.I`ve taken some pics of the lipsticks on,but my camera not very good so excuse poor quality.

MUA (Make-Up Academy) Starry Night Palette

Just a quick review and swatches of the MUA Starry Night Palette.I'm not going into much detail as there's loads of reviews about this little beauty. I'm a huge fan of MUA a huge fan of budget brands in general,as I don't have much money to buy the posh prestige brands,and personally I don't buy into all the hype,advertising and marketing.

MUA is available exclusively in Superdrug in store and online (and there's free postage online till Xmas).If your thinking of buying MUA online check for reviews and swatches first as the pictures on Superdrugs site the shades are a bit off and you can`t really see them properly.I bought the Starry Night Palette along with the Heaven & Earth palette and quite a few other bits (be reviewing them soon) The MUA palettes are £4 and have 12 shadows.The Starry Night Palette palette has lovely shades ranging from blues lilacs,a pink and couple of darker shades,which are glittery and shimmery there are no matte shades.The shades are really lovely and soft and nicely pigmented,not got much more to say have a nosey at the swatches below. Its a really gorgeous palette,I cant fault it and for £4 >>bargain ! Heres some swatches for your lovely eyes.

MUA(Make-Up Academy) Lipsticks & Nail Polish

If you`ve been living as a hermit in a cave somewhere,then I guess you`ve not heard of MUA (Make-Up Academy).It is a brand exclusive to Superdrug and is really really cheap as chips items range from £1 for the basic range,lipstick,mascara,powder,blush,eyeliner,mascara, eye-shadow,lip gloss,nail polish,liquid eye-liner.....yes all £1 !!.Then there's the professional range which cost from £1.50 -£4.I imagine your thinking £1 for make-up its gonna be pants,well no my good friends pants it certainly isn't.Ive bought quite few products online as my local Superdrug never has much MUA in stock and its free postage at the moment,plus there's a 3 for 2 offer on so you can get 3 MUA items for £2 cheap as chips :-).Like I say I bought a fair few bits over the last couple of weeks and I`ll be doing a few reviews and swatches for your delectation and delight.
I love the MUA lipsticks they are really good,lovely pigmentation nice and moisturising and quite long lasting.The first two I bought were Shade 1 and shade 3,this is the only downside to MUA they don't have shade names just numbers but what the hell its only a freaking pound !!

I've not got the best lips have I lol,love the lippies though, I've bought 4 more will review them soon along with the rest of the haul.

MUA (Make-up Academy) Shade 5

This is a lovely minty green shade,I really love it and its only £1 yes £1!! in fact most of the MUA range is £1.Ive got quite a few MUA polishes will be trying them out and posting pics.
Unfortunately I dyed my hair a reddy/purple shade with Stargazer Magenta(as seen on another of my Blog Posts here http://moonfairysworld.blogspot.com/2011/10/re-dyeing-my-hair-with-sargazer-magenta.html )
These kind of dyes are notorious for staining especially in first couple of weeks after you`ve dyed your hair.This is how my nails are now a day later,really stained with the hair dye,and I wake up every morning with a red forehead :)

Next time I dye my hair I`ll steer clear of light coloured nail polish.I`ll be doing my nails a dark purple tomorrow.

Right folks I need to do loads of reviews of goodies I've bought/won/been given to review. I'm going to get cracking starting tomorrow I'm going to be reviewing some lovely make-up from VIVO cosmetics. I've also bought a lot of MUA (make-up Academy) from Superdrug which I need to review.I also need to review some goodies I was sent from Lumiere Cosmetics.And a few other little bits and bobs to review.
I've been a lazy Blogger and need my wrists slapping :0) I was slightly put off when I did a lengthy review with loads of pics and swatches,and I forgot to save my post,about 3 hours it took me to write/swatch/take pics,I was soooo annoyed.I guess it will teach me in future to save as I'm going along, I'm a total newbie Blogger.
Im holding a give-away when I reach 50 followers(have 30 currently) so will need to get some more posts done,as no one is interested in a Blog with hardly any content.
Right I promise to myself I will get my bottom in gear and start doing more reviews and posts.

Bleaching and re-dyeing my hair with Stargazer Magenta

I'm re-dyeing my hair which involves me bleaching the roots and bleaching the ends a little bit to remove the remnants of my previous dye(Directions -Pillarbox Red) which has faded.
I'm going to be doing a bleach bath which is less harsh and damaging to the hair.Here`s a step by step guide hope its of help to someone !!
Righto here`s my hair at the moment faded and lots of roots its horrible !

This is the dye I'm using Stargazer Magenta ,which is a semi perm conditioning dye.It has no ammonia or peroxide and isn't harmful to the hair,in fact you can leave the dye on over night which I've done before.
It works best on pre-bleached hair,and it comes in loads of different shades,20 in fact,blues,greens,reds,purples,pinks all colours of the rainbow !!

Right heres a list of the things you`ll need to do your bleach bath.

Powder Bleach

Peroxide Developer

Shampoo

Measuring Cup

Bowl

Gloves
An old towel

Measure the amount of powder you`ll think your going to need into measuring cup (I used 40ml) and place in bowl or plastic tub,I use the plastic tubs from takeaways and ready meals.(don't ever use anything metallic)

Measure same amount of developer (40ml in my case)

Mix both the powder and developer together ,into a creamy mixture make sure there's no lumps

Next measure 2 parts shampoo (40ml in this case) if using on damp hair
Or 1.5 parts shampoo & 0.5 water if applying to dry hair (30ml shampoo & 10ml water in this case ) Mix into the bleach mixture making sure its thoroughly mixed and no lumps

Now apply to your hair,and wait checking it every 5/10 mins until its lightened to your desired colour

Have a cup of tea relax keep checking it, voila your roots are done and ready for the next step the dyeing !

Now rinse all the bleach out really thoroughly and shampoo and rinse,DO NOT use any conditioner as this acts as a barrier and stops the dye working info is on the box.I usually now wrap a towel round my head turban style and relax and let it dry quite a bit,as the dye is used on slightly damp hair.

Right its dry enough to put the dye on,its a multitude of colours looks weird,should be ok when dyed

Before you apply the dye make sure you protect all your surfaces in bathroom that might get splashed with dye as it can make a right mess and resemble a scene from the movie Saw !
Also use plenty of Vaseline around your hairline neck and ears, to prevent the dye staining you, if you`ve no Vaseline a moisturiser will do.Apply the dye as per the instructions on the box,using a tinting brush to cover all your hair,make sure its all covered.

Give it a good rub in then wrap cling film around your head or a plastic bag,shower cap etc ,to stop it drying out. I'm leaving mine on for an hour as its quite late at night,you can leave it on longer if you wish,even overnight as its a conditioning dye and wont do any harm.
Here Iam cling filmed up,going to have a cuppa and a bit of Facebook for an hour whilst it works its magic !

Right I've rinsed now ,make sure you rinse really really well,it says till water goes clear,but you`ll be rinsing for ever to get it clear,I always do a couple of final rinses with cold as I can take it water.I`ve then used a deep conditioner for half an hour which you really need because of the bleaching.
Its turned out really purplish and darker than I thought it would but I love it !
Everyone's hair is different and the colour is different depending on your base colour,I expected mine to be quite dark because of the faded red underneath.
I've seen people use the same colour Magenta on really blonde hair and it comes out really pink.A site I find really useful for looking at hair colours is the gallery section on beeunique, there's also a great forum,for all hair & hair dye related stuff and a shop to buy your dye.Heres the Stargazer Magenta link on beeunique you can see how different the colour is from person to person.

Right heres a picture of my hair while its still wet(looks awful wet),Ill take another when its dry tomorrow and in natural light.It will fade after a few washes too and I`ll take pics so you can see the colour change as it fades.

Its the day after I've given it another wash as my scalp and hairline were pretty stained.Sat here with deep conditioner and a plastic bag on my head,will take a proper picture when I've rinsed and dried it .

I suffer from Hypothyroidism which means my Thyroid levels are low and I have to take daily medication for rest of my life.Some of the side effects are dry skin, hair,and nails and hair loss. I'm really suffering badly from the hair-loss I lose big handfuls when I wash my hair. I'm currently having regular blood tests to try and get my levels and dose of meds correct.One of the side effects of the medication is also hair-loss.
I used to have lovely hair in great condition it was fine in texture but I had a lot of it.Now its really thin and coarse and mega dry, I'm losing a lot too you can see my scalp in places,is really depressing,I can just about manage to hide my scalp on nights out with back-combing and lots of fluffing and occasionally I've resorted to using a red felt pen to colour my blindingly white patches of scalp.
My hair at the moment is a bright Pillarbox Red ( La Riche Directions Pillarbox Red ),I have to bleach my hair first to get the bright red colour,heres a photo from Sat 24th Sept in the local pub so you can get an idea of the colour,you can also see how dry it is.(p.s its not a real cigarette in picture its electric one you can smoke legally in pub)

I love my red hair but the bleaching every 6 weeks to re-do the roots and fade is taking its toll on my hair. I'm thinking of dyeing it with a semi-perm 28 wash dye for a while to give it a break from the bleaching.I bought dye from Superdrug online today for £1.99 (bargain) they have free postage going on till 24th Dec.This is the colour I chose Superdrug Creme Sensations Dark Truffle 6.7,this is a semi-perm which says it washes out in 28 shampoos.Its a boring colour I know but I plan on going back to red in few months if I can get the condition and hair-loss sorted.

This is the amount of hair Iam losing each time I wash Ive put a 10p coin next to it for scale.

And here is a picture from above you can really see how badly it is thinning and the scalp is really showing,it doesn`t help that my roots need re-doing,I find it looks better when my roots arent showing.

I shall be re-doing my roots very soon and dyeing with Stargazer Magenta,I will do a blog post showing how easy it is to get your hair a bright unnatural funky colour.

I'm thinking of getting one of the wigs,to wear when I go out.I can then leave my hair and not dye it and let the red grow out for a bit,and leave off the bleach for good few months over the Autumn/Winter and re-dye it red in the Spring and emerge all colourful again a bit like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon !

George,Smartprice,Beauty UK Shatter Polish !

I bought a couple of George nail polishes and a Smartprice one along with the weekly shop at Asda,just liked the colours.I didn't expect much especially from the Smartprice one.I was really pleasantly surprised.The George polishes are priced at £1.75 and the Smartprice £1.53,only downside is the bottles are a bit on the small side but for the price cant complain.They have a big selection of shades in the George ones too,Im going to Asda tomorrow I bet I come back with another or two.
The George shades I bought are called Hoax a lovely purple colour & Buttercup a gorgeous bright yellow.The Smartprice called Silver.Heres pics from the Asda website.

I really,really impressed with the how long these polishes last,so hard wearing and don't chip easily.I used the Hoax 2 coats,then used a coat of the silver over the top of that.I applied Monday morning its now 2.30am Thurs morning and this how they look now ,no chips just wearing away slightly at edges of nails.In my calculations in a few hours the polish would have been on 3 days!

I'm going to try the Buttercup one with a black crackle polish tomorrow,bumble bee combo,I wonder if that one is as long lasting (hope so)
I've just used the George Buttercup polish with Beauty UK shatter polish over it.Not as impressed with Buttercup shade needed 3 coats but its a lot lighter colour so there you go that's why.
The Beauty UK Shatter Polish was the first crackle polish I've tried and so far my favourite Its fab stuff,I must invest in some more.Anyhoo heres some pics please excuse the mess around my nails,I was a bit clumsy applying it and haven't cleaned it off yet.

Heres some pic of what I call a bumble bee combo,will have another go of this and try to do it more neatly next time.
Im popping into Asda tomorrow and will probably pick up some more polish,I need a really mega bright orange or red so I can do a lovely red & black crackle effect with the Beauty UK Shatter polish,oh and I need some more of that too :) Unfortunately our local Superdrug is proper pants and never has much in stock.Hopefully Superdrug online will a free postage promo soon and I can invest in more Beauty UK Shatter and try some of there polishes too.

Mythic Oil L`OREAL PROFESSIONNEL

I received a nice surprise in the post this morning,which is a bit of a mystery where it came from there was no letter or slip with it either.I have been entering a lot of competitions lately so I think it could possibly be a win !
Its a fab bottle of L`oreal Mythic Oil,Ive actually been lusting after this for ages as Ive heard great things about Mythic Oil,maybe my hairy Godmother sent it?
Unfortunately for me I suffer from Hypothyroidism (Low Thyroid levels) and amongst some of the symptoms one is very dry brittle hair and hair loss,I hate this for me this is the worst part of the illness especially the hair loss its awful,each time I wash my hair and a handful comes out I die a little inside :( My hair is mega dry as well so it needs all the help it can get.So heres hoping Mythic Oil can help my hair look less dry and dull.
I really love the name Mythic Oil sounds so mysterious and reminds of Egypt for some reason.The packaging is really lovely and stylish and it comes in a plastic pump bottle.
Basically its a hair serum/oil you can apply to damp or dry hair to make your hair more glossy and less frizzy.Heres the info from the back of the box and how to use.Its a massive 125ml so I can imagine it`ll last me ages too.

As they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating,so I`ll be giving the Mythic Oil(really love the name ) a try later on my damp hair after Ive washed it,can`t wait to try it.
I've been using the Mythic Oil for a couple of weeks now and I must say Im mighty impressed. I've been adding a few drops to my deep conditioning mask and my hair feels really lovely and soft and actually has a nice shine to it.
Ive also used it on damp hair as a de-frizzer it works brilliant as this too !
I really recommend Mythic Oil for those of you who have dry over processed hair and those who want to get rid of the frizzies.
You can pick it up on eBay and Amazon for around £13 its a large bottle and should last you ages too.
Ive been using Mythic Oil for a few weeks now,I must say its fantastic stuff.Ive been adding it to my weekly deep condition and applying to my damp hair.My hair feel so soft and silky and no frizz .Great thing as well it will last for ages,Im definitely going to be buying another bottle when this is finished.

Tanatomicals Prize I won review

I was lucky enough to win a lovely set of Tanatomicals false tan in a Twitter competiton.I will be reviewing them tomorrow after lots of vigorous exfoliating tomorrow.Im a bit of a false tan newbie and to be honest bit of a false tan scaredy cat.Looking forward to trying them tomorrow lots of before and after pictures to come.Im really pale skinned as I have to avoid the sun due to having Vitiligo,so hopefully I can get my glow on !! Heres a pic of the lovely Tanatomical set I won.

Heres a picture of paleface me with no make-up on,please brace yourselves it aint a pretty sight ! I have Vitiligo which causes patches of white unpigmented skin you can see I have them around my eyes,this also a reason im so pale I tend to avoid the sun as it makes my Vitiligo patches stand out more .

This is after applying the Tanatomicals,its quite a light tan which I prefer.Im a false tan newbie and will be trying the others Ive got on my arms and upper body very soon. Im quite impressed its quite even dont look like Ive been Tangoed and if I want it darker can use more.I can now say Ive broken my fake tan virginity !!
I love the quirky names and descriptions on the boxes very funny !!
This is the one I used Tanatomicals get a tan without looking like your gran,body and face instant tan.

I will be jumping in the bath soon and doing much exfoliating after I've had my bath I`ll take some before pictures. I'm just tanning my upper body and face tonight.I will be using the mousse called "The Holy Grail for the deathly pale instant + self tan mousse"(Im definitely deathly pale ! ) I expect I`ll have a light glow after applying and the tan develops darker in a few hours. I'm quite excited to see how it looks when fully developed !

Here`s a before picture after I've just got out of the bath not a pretty sight I know.Look really pale some call it pale & interesting I call it sickly white !

And heres a photo after Id applied the Holy Grail for the deathly pale,Instant & Self tan mousse.It was really easy to apply and as its instant you can see where you applying it.Its a lovely foamy mousse which spreads really well and I didn't use half as much as expected a little does go a long way.I also applied some to my face.
Voila !! a lovely golden glow like The Stranglers song Golden Brown!! It says it on the box "an instant tanning mousse creating a golden tan in seconds,which then gradually develops into a natural looking tan." So it should develop into a darker tan,Im off to bed now and will see what it looks like in the morning(will post pics).Im very impressed so far,this was a trial run as a false tan newbie

As I'm writing I can see the tan developing darker,I`ll definitely be using next weekend when I go to the pub to see a band.I`ll post another pic tomorrow to show how its developed further and if it goes any darker.
I`d recommend Tanatomicals Instant & Self tan mousse,as a false tan newbie its really easy to apply and the results aren`t too dark its ideal for paler skins too,come over to the brown side don`t be scared ! :)
I didn't take any more pictures after it developed as it didn't develop much darker (phew) I was scared to wake up looking like a frightened Satsuma.
I`d really recommend you to try it if like me your paler skinned and a bit nervous of using false tan.I will be trying the other types of Tanatomicals I received and will add more when I do.I`ll be using the mousse one again when I go to the pub in a few days to see a Rush tribute band,if you don`t know who Rush are ask your Dad :)

The lovely folks at VIVO cosmetics sent me some lovely goodies to review,they sent them me quite a while ago and the review is long overdue,mainly because of camera problems.VIVO Cosmetics is a newly launched brand and is available to buy in Tesco its a really good value prices from £1.50-£6 which is great if your on a budget,or like me don`t get sucked in by all the hype and marketing of the expensive brands.There are plenty of cheap alternatives out there which are just as good and sometimes even better.
They sent me a lovely selection of their make-up to test and review.Heres a pic of what was sent to me.

Right heres what we have on the left top to bottom Trio eye-shadow Palette Green with Envy, Trio Eye-shadow Palette Be-Dazzled, Baked Shimmer Palette Paparazzi.Next we have Baked Bronze Shade 2,Baked Bronze Shade 3,Baked Blush Rosy Shade 2,Diamond Sparkle Lip Gloss Shade 1,Lipstick Red Red Shade 4,Under Eye concealer Roll-On Light Shade 1,Liquid eye liner.Now from left to right Cream Highlighter,Eye-Liner Black Glitter,Curve Effect Mascara,Volume Mascara.
I really love the packaging it is sturdy quite chunky and looks very stylish.The eye-shadow and baked palettes have handy mirror and double ended applicator.

Trio Eye-shadow palette Green With Envy

Trust me these are green shades they have come out rather grey looking I don't have the best camera.
It has a bit of info on the back "A palette of enviable shades that will bring out your inner goddess for seductive and powerful eyes" and a little tutorial which I intend on trying soon. I'm not a massive fan of green eye-shadow,bit scared of it I think :) but I've been converted along with VIVO I've tried a couple of other greens,and don't know what I was bothered about even my other half complemented me said my make-up suited my eyes *shock*.Anyhoo I'm waffling one of my faults I'm very easily distracted.Back to the Green with Envy trio palette,this is a really lovely little palette the shadows are really soft and quite pigmented,my fave is the middle shade a lovely mid green shimmery colour,heres a swatch.

Trio eye-shadow palette Be-Dazzled

Be-Dazzled info on back "A contrast palette of sizzling shades that brings intense colour and sparkle for eyes that dazzle."

This is a great palette too nicely pigmented and shimmery shades.A silvery/grey,Pink and Black glittery shades.I cant see myself using the pink not a massive fan of pink eye-shadows kind of reminds me of when I was a teen back in the 80`s (yes I`am that old ).I really love the black glittery shade on right its gorgeous. I've tried to show the lovely glitter in the black shade.

Baked Shimmer Palette Paparazzi

This is another lovely palette 4 baked eye-shadows and a baked blush.The blush is really lovely warm shimmery pink with gold running through it,really gorgeous.Then the eye-shadows a black shimmery one with a silvery white running through it,this is a gorgeous colour,next a green with gold through it a lovely colour too,then a pink with a slight blue and white running through it and last but no means least a shimmery blue/purple/white.I love the blush in this palette really gorgeous again not a fan of the pink shadow (but that's just me).The green/gold is a lovely shade nice and shimmery a good combo too green and gold,then the last one a purplish blue(Blurple) with a silvery white shimmer going through it.Heres some swatches before you all start going "errgh look at the dry skin on her arms" I suffer from low thyroid which causes horrible dry skin especially on my arms.

I really,really love these baked bronzers,shade 2 on left is the darker of the two,its a really beautiful bronzer lovely and soft and pigmented with gorgeous gold shimmers running through it.Info on the back says "A stunning bronzer with gold undertones that leave your complexion sunkissed and gorgeous"

Shade 3 bronzer the lighter one is equally as lovely nice and soft and pigmented,I can see myself using the lighter one more as I'm quite pale skinned and the darker one in summer or when I`m wearing fake tan or just fancy a bit more colour.The info on the back same as other shade.

The baked blush is also a lovely and soft shimmery and pigmented.Info on the back of blush "A stunning blush with pink undertones to give all over warmth and colour to your complexion"the blush and bronzers look really good together,I love them !

Diamond Sparkle Lipgloss -Candy Floss Shade 1

Info on back "A colour intense formula with brush applicator that gives lips instant vibrancy and sparkle for a full and even coverage."
This is a light pink gloss with tons of sparkle ,its quite sheer and gives a lovely sparkle on the lips either on its own or over your lipstick.I really like the applicator a brush, when you squeeze the tube the product comes onto the brush,much prefer this than wand applicators.It doesn't feel too sticky on the lips and has no scent or nasty taste.
I found it really difficult to photograph to show the gloss properly and the sparkles this is the best I could do,trust me its really sparkly.

Lipstick -Red Red Shade 4

This is a really lovely lipstick great texture pigmentation feels nice and moisturising on the lips and lasts a long time.I really don't suit the colour at all its a really bright red,I`d definitely buy it in another shade though as its great apart from the shade.Heres a swatch

Under Eye Concealer Roll-On -Light Shade 1

Info on bottle "Banishes dark circles for refreshed wide awake eyes"
It a nice concealer and handy being a roll-on.I don't have the problem of dark circles I have Vitiligo and have circles of this around my eyes completely white unpigmented areas,the way I describe it is like a Panda but in reverse.I usually need a heavy concealer to give my unpigmented skin some colour before applying my foundation.This doesn't quite do the job,it does work slightly,it does brighten up my under eye area but I imagine if your under eye circles arent too dark it would be enough coverage.

Liquid Eye-Liner and Black Glitter Eye-Liner

The liquid eye-liner is a kid of slate grey colour,I really love the brush with it its nice and fine and can get right close to your lashes,its really easy to use and gives a nice line,I hate liquid eye-liners that have chunky thick brushes,this one is perfect.It dries really quickly too I definitely recommend it
Black Glitter Eye-Liner,this is really lovely soft easy to use eye-liner,it doesn't drag or pull on your eyelid,it comes with a smudger (is that the right word?) on one end of the pencil and would be great for a smoky eye look.Out of the two I prefer the liquid.

I really love this highlighter it gives a really radiant glow when used under my foundation,really brightens my skin. I've not tried it as a cheek or brow highlighter yet,so can`t comment how it looks there.I mix a bit with my foundation I really recommend this its lovely

Curve Effect Mascara- Black

Lovely Mascara with a curved brush that gave my lashes a lot of length and volume,I found the curved brush a bit hard to get used to but once Id sussed it was fine.Its a great consistency not too thin/thick and lovely and black,it really did lengthen my lashes Id recommend it for a night time look.
Ive tried my best to take a pic of my eyes with mascara on but my camera isn't the best so heres the best I could do.

Volume Mascara- Black

This too is a great mascara, really nice and black not too thick or thin applies really well.Id use this one for daytime or less dramatic looks as its not as lengthening as the curve one,still a great mascara.Again heres a pic of it on the best I could do with the camera I've got.

My overall verdict of VIVO is positive really good quality and brilliant price.I love the liquid eye-liner will be buying some more in Black and a couple of other colours,I love the bronzers and would like a baked blush in a different shade,and a lipstick in another shade.Id also like a trio palette in different shade too. I'm not too keen on the roll-on concealer only because its not quite heavy enough coverage to hide my Vitiligo (I imagine it would be fine for anyone wanting light coverage).Also not to keen on the glitter eye-liner pencil just personal,I prefer liquid eye-liner.
