So, zombie apocalypse. You’re ready? (Guest post by: Stant Litore)

I keep a Templar sword by the bed. Just in case. Actually scared to death of the hungry dead. On one of our first dates, my future wife and I rented Dawn of the Dead and about five minutes in, I quietly got to my feet, tiptoed out, and retrieved my wood-ax from the shed. Set it right against my armchair. Felt much better through the whole movie after that. The fact that Jessica was more amused than alarmed by this likely is one reason she and I now wear wedding rings.

Actually though, you have to understand that it’s not just one big outbreak we have to watch for. Zombies have been here all along, devouring our history from the inside. In every generation, there has been a plague somewhere. That’s what The Zombie Bible is about – how generations of our ancestors wrestled with the restless dead. How they fought for survival and for sanity in the centuries before electricity or guns or the CDC. Moviemakers like to freak me out with warnings of an imminent global collapse and a world rendered wasteland inhabited only by the dead gnawing on the last bones. But in fact tomorrow or the day after may only be the latest chapter in a long and grisly story.

I’ve been collecting these tales for a while. I have a place up in Colorado where there are few trees and you can see the dead coming from a long way off. I write each evening to scholars and archaeologists who can piece together bits of our half-eaten and half-forgotten memory. If you stop by or take a look in one of my books, I’ll tell you a few tales. How the prophet Jeremiah was left in a dry well three days with the dead tossed in after him. How Polycarp the martyr used to bring rest to dozens of the dead with a touch of his hand and his soul-searching eyes. How in the twelfth century BC Devora, an aging prophetess, led a tribal people against great herds of dead, her blade uplifted above her like a slice of moon against the night sky.

These are tales that will fascinate you and they are tales that will break the heart. Because whether today or three thousand years ago, one’s dead are never faced without terrible cost. Our ancestors understood that better than we, and we can learn from their stories.

Review: I’ve never read anything quite like Anathema before. When it first came out I remember being instantly interested. I am upset that it wasn’t until this tour that I actually was able to read it! K.A. Tucker has a nack for creating characters that will capture your heart!

I loved Sofie. She had nothing, so when she was given an odd proposal she jumped for it. Honestly who wouldn’t? Anyways just as things don’t seem right and she doesn’t know who to trust BAM, enter hot boy! Caden oh boy guys, you are going to love him. Even though he says stay away it’s that opposites attract thing between Sofie and him that had me reeling at what would happen to them.

This book is pretty fast paced! There is action, turmoil, ripped limbs and squirting blood! Not to mention treachery, vilians and evil creatures!! The world building was a tad bit off, but I was still able to get into it. You can expect reviews from the rest of the series from me.

Review: BLURGHHH!!! I am just so high off of finishing this novel! I love new adult, it’s a new genre growing popularity fast. I really, really can’t stress how good this book was. J.A. Huss is BRILLIANT!! Like doctor who twists and turns and EVERYTHING!! I just mentioned doctor who!! I love this author so freaking much, adding them to my favorites list!!!! I NEED MORE!!!

Junco was brilliant. We got to know her, but we knew something was off from the very beginning with the flash backs. We didn’t know if they were real or not until the very end. I was VERY surprised by the revelations. The way Junco is developed with mini explosions of information sucked me into the book. I loved it. Tier is so freaking yummy. Although I didn’t and still am not sure what his hidden past is! I know book two will tell me though!!!

Junco is a kick butt heroine that I can’t get enough of. The plot twists held my attention. The world building was effortless and I am seriously having withdraws of epic proportions at the moment. Clutch goes and proves that Indie published books can be just as devastatingly good as the traditional route!!!

Buy this book now. I promise you will not regret it!

Review: I’ll be honest I went freaking crazy when I got home from BEA waiting for the package with Deity to finally arrive at my house that I had shipped home. Then all I did for four hours was read it. Guys time stopped. If I cursed in reviews I would in this one. My mind is so freaking beyond blown. It’s in spongy pieces on the floor and I am left scooping it back up into my head. Too visual there?!?

If you thought Half Blood and Pure were good, you better mentally prepare yourself for Deity! I thought I could handle the action and guys it’s intense! There were twists that I thought could happen but then just brushed off; thinking no Jennifer wouldn’t do that to me… JENNIFER HOW DARE YOU!! In all honesty I loved it.

Alex is finally grasping her powers and piecing together what it all means to her-self and others. Not only just that, she is discovering things and holding fast to her beliefs no matter how crazy they are. Not to mention the fact she is still kicking but and taking names.

Seth and Alex action gets more intense and so does the same thing with Aiden but in a different way in the first part of the book. I’m not telling you how! That would spoil it!! In the end revelations are made that leaves really only one inevitable choice and Alex has other ideas about that! Our girl doesn’t just settle for what fate has dealt her, she fights. Which makes it even better.

With characters that forever hold a place in the readers heart. Intense moments of passion and action scenes that make the reader want to become a ninja. Jennifer L. Armentrout has cemented the covenant series will be an eternal favorite in young adult literature.

Owlet by: Emma Michaels (Best Tour Post I've EVER Done)

I am excited to have Emma here today. Her new book coming from Tribute Books, is bound to be sensational and I am dying to read it. I met Emma actually two years ago while I was in New York City for BEA 2011. I loved her passion and enthusiasm, that and her love of doctor who. I am thrilled to see her grown so much over the past two years.

On a blog I founded called The Writers Voice (http://OurBooksOurVoice.Blogspot.com) I feature two authors each weekend and one of my favorite questions to ask is what scene of their recently released novel was the hardest to write. So many questions have answers that are similar to one another but I have not seen any two authors give the same answer to this question. Their novels are unique, so the scenes that hit them the hardest are as well.

For me, there were two scenes. The very first scene which I rewrote so many times I lost track and one of the last scenes that would include too many spoilers if I explained :-p. As a reader I know how important those first few pages are so I knew that those pages had to bring a reader into the story and start out their journey. After all, what do you do when you aren’t sure you will like a book and are walking through a bookstore? You pick it up and start reading. If it doesn’t catch your attention, you put it back but if it does, then it is the gateway to the rest of the novel.

Beginnings have never been my strong suit. When I was growing up I didn’t speak at the normal age, instead I waited an extra six months and while my first words were “you’re welcome” and “thanks” after that it was straight to sentences. More specifically, my father didn’t know I could speak yet and was putting up a picture, he turned back and asked my mother if it was straight and (I am told) I said, “a little to the right”. Then later on in life I went from pre-sixth grade only being able to draw REALLY terrible stick figures to three months later getting the highest score in my art class. I just don’t do beginnings, I skip right to the middle in almost everything I do (except reading).

So naturally, it took a few tries with the first chapter. I ended up writing it one way, writing the rest of the book other than the last chapter or so, then going back and resuming my work on that first chapter (though by my last draft I finally was able to just go straight from beginning to end). But now, I love the beginning! Oddly enough, when it finally came together was while I was waiting in an airport terminal and had a few printed out pages in my pocket. I sat down and suddenly, it all made sense. I knew what was wrong, what I had to write and it all came together like magic!

So hopefully you enjoy that magic as much as I enjoyed getting to write it! I just loved it and am already working on book two for next year! Thank you for reading and stopping by!

My scene for the read along:

She could feel her mother all around her in Never-Never, and just hurrying up stairs that she knew her mother had probably walked up and down for years, knowing that she was going to get to sleep in the same room she had slept in and would look out at the same view from her window, made Iris burst with joy. She followed her heart and walked down the hallway to the very last door, ignoring the other four and tried to turn the apple-shaped doorknob, but it wouldn't budge.

Turning away toward the other rooms, ready to find something else to investigate, she suddenly heard something behind her click. She turned in time to see the door swing open, though no one was on the other side. “Diana?” Iris spoke. Even though she felt like nothing could touch her while she was inside of her mother’s house she couldn’t help but feel nervous.

“Anyone? Hello?”

A cold breeze touched her skin as Iris walked to the door. Peeking her head around the corner she could see that the window was open, the curtains were billowing in the wind. She ran to them and shoved them aside.

Thick ivy ran up the side of the house and someone was climbing down it.

It’s him! Finally! Call to him.

She watched the young man, only a few years older than her, jump down and then turn to run towards the trees. “Wait!” Iris shouted, but she realized Diana would hear and come running thinking she had ‘hollered.’ If Diana saw the boy Iris would have to leave the island; Diana wouldn’t be okay with anyone being able to get into the house without their permission.

But when he turned around Iris knew that she would never regret calling after him. He smiled at her as she leaned forward. She felt something next to her almost drop out the window and she caught it, catching herself off guard and almost tipping forward. Taking a step back, scared she might fall, Iris stared down at what she had caught...an apple.

Review: I can not freaking believe what happened in this book. IT WAS SO GOOD!! So I tend to stay away from books that switch point of views. This novel switches from Connor to Emma and does so brilliantly. I really couldn’t ask for more. R.K. Ryals has created a mind blowing new world that I want to be a part of!!

Connor is the perfect bad boy with an inner softness. We get to see how he became who he is today through the novel. Emma is shy and thought she was dying. She’s okay with dying it’s living that scares her the most. Her fears were intriguing! I liked watching her come out of her shell and scramble to grasp who she is.

The plot is pretty intense. I highly enjoyed that aspect. There was lots of fighting and action. The love scenes were actually minimal (even though there are those intense kiss scenes swoons), but the emotional intensity that the author conveys had me at the edge of my seat.

To be quite frank here guys. This is the first book besides a textbook I have finished since coming to college in August. I am thrilled that this was the one I read. I need more ASAP. You can count me in to be reading Acropolis #2. I’ll probably even be stalking the author and her other works. It was just that good.

Review: I just couldn’t not read this book after reading the summary and being drawn into the eyes on the cover. To this very second I can’t stop thinking about how twisted this book is. The beginning didn’t initially draw me in, but than BAM. It picked right up. I loved the way it was written. Rose Garcia will explode your mind with action packed scenes and emotional turmoil.

I was weary Dominique was going to be just another character in a book for me. Let’s face it at this point in my reading life, I’ve met many characters. It takes a truly special one to get me into a book nowadays. I am excited to say Dominique is one of these. I was torn between Trent and Farrell, and I think I have my feelings about both figured out. BUT I want you to go through all the mystery and guessing like I did so I won’t share those.

Final Life, is one of those great finds that you keep going back to when you think about a new book to read. I mentioned how twisted the novel is and I don’t anyone to be confused about my usage of the term. I mean twisted in a totally insane mind blowing cool way. The whole world Rose Garcia created made me think about the actual world I live in. Man, guys this book is a must pick up.

One thing Hadlee doesn't know is the other part of Seans' life. His life of drug running, and killing. Or the fact that when he's not boxing he's walking the streets with a gat tucked into the back of his loose jeans, and glancing over his shoulder at every turn.

But it doesn't take Hadlee long to learn that some attractions and relationships can be fatal.

And sometimes...

They just might be worth fighting for.

Review: This book needs a shorter summary! Anyways this novel is technically adult fiction, but it better fits into the New adult category. I had some things adored about 12 rounds and some things I had problems with. Needless to say though, I am addicted to the storyline and am waiting for book two. Lauren Hammond has a unique writing style that I adore, 12 Rounds will capture your heart and heat up your desire.

Hadlee, is struggling with the memories of her past. I liked the way that we found out what happened from Sean’s point of view and than hers. I really liked the switching pov’s they worked very well with the story. Hadlee I really liked because she used to be extremely self assured and independent and is struggling to regain that part of herself. I can totally relate to that. I loved Sean, well who wouldn’t, bad boy persona, but good guy at heart. At first I thought he was a cocky loser, but than I learned he was so much more.

The mafia element, I LOVED! I didn’t like Connie’s point of views, but they were necessary to let the reader know more of what Sean is involved in. At points the story was really slow, but I still wanted to know more. THEN it picked up and guys it ended. Talk about cliff freaking hangers. I want more of this world ASAP!

Side note, if that guy on the cover is single and looking for a bookish girl, let him know I am single please!!

Review: Jennifer’s writing has turned into a sort of drug that takes me places, and makes me feel things that I ordinarily never would. Cursed is a thrilling novel that I swear to god I will weep if it is a stand alone. I just need more Jennifer. I wasn’t sure how this book would go, because no author has entranced me so with so many different novels. Jennifer delivered, I knew she would, but a tiny part of me was a bit scared she wouldn’t.

Anyways Ember is a girl who can’t touch anyone for fear of the harm she will cause. I loved that Ember didn’t just run off with the cute guy who claimed he could help her. I also liked how she cared for her sister, after everything around her fell apart. The loss of her best friend broke my heart, I swear to god my heart broke inside.

Intense emotions run high and plot twists, captured me by surprise. I just want more. I was left with a sense of a door slamming shut in my face, when I turned the final page. NOT COOL JEN! I think that we need to clone Jennifer so we can get more books faster!!

Back on topic. I found that I enjoyed this novel immensely. Jennifer delivers. JLA addicts like me will be delighted. New readers will fine a new favorite author! Pick up a copy of Cursed today!

Review: First off this cover is absolutely wonderful. The girl is alone and not graced by a guy. I like that, because even though the main conflict of the story revolves around two guys, Wendy is the one who deals with the most inner turmoil. I am going to be perfectly honest and admit I had a hard time getting through this book. I am though, glad that I read it. Andrea Heltsley is a great writer, and I have no doubt book two will show even more talent than the first.

I did not like Wendy really as a character. I felt like the through the whole book, the main thing she did was lament about her wardrobe choices and then about guys. I did like the way she decided to handle the final big plot twist. The thing that stood out the most for me, was how I could feel the passion in the novel. I didn’t expect that, and it was a new thing for me to experience.

The novel, had me going who was the good guy, and who was the bad. Just when I thought I had the whole story arc figured out, I realized I did not. Since the whole paranormal aspect felt suddenly thrown in, I know book two will develop characters and make the plot thicken.

Review: Isn’t this books cover just the hottest thing! I love it. The colors remind me of New Orleans and the characters fit perfectly. I read this book at the right time in my life I think. I was starting a new chapter in my life with college and so was Allie.

At first I thought Allie was just a spoiled brat, but than I realized there was more to her and I was intriuged. I was severely disappointed when one of the characters left so suddenly, but I liked the message and I understood. I still feel like there is a part of to Allie, that is vague and will be developed further later. I thought Levi was a total Jerk at first, and liked that Allie wanted nothing to do with him. She knew somehow, that he wasn’t right for her, but in the end we all know how that turns out.

Furthermore, I enjoyed reading flight. It felt a tad slow. I wanted more action and pow pow. I think the series will build to that though. I love how now Allie has made a life for herself and stepped out of what her parents want. I can relate. I fully intend to read book two so go ahead and grab book one!! Alyssa has created an enticing new world for readers.

Review: You do not need to have read the Novella’s that I reviewed yesterday to read this book. That is what my home girl Tirzah (The Comulsive Reader) told me. I think it would be best if you did. There is a ton of back story that will give you an even deeper reading experience.

Sarah J. Maas is a new favorite author of mine. I am not sure just exactly how she came up with this story, but it is pure magic. Celaena has been working in a labor camp for a full year. No one lasts more than a month normally. She has shed her former assassin’s life for one of a slave in the salt mines. When the prince comes and offers her a chance at freedom, Celaena is cautious. There is nothing left in the world for her, you’ll know why if you read the novella’s. She would be a fool not to take the chance though so she does. At the castle she trains hard with Captain Wesfall, the King scares her beyond reason and the future and past loom darkly over her head. She’s waiting for something to happen and to be sent back to the mines.

The Captain and Prince never expected the young girl before them to be the greatest assassin of legend. The insight of their point of views is invaluable. We also get a snobby ladies point of view and while I didn’t fully enjoy those moments, they were necessary.

I have a hard time normally with shifting point of views. Usually all I want is more of the main characters voice. In Throne of Glass though I did not feel this way. I loved the switching and the insight it gave me. I also loved every moment and flip of the page of this novel.

I was talking with Tirzah who read the story online all those years ago, if you don’t know the story of this novels publishing google it. She said Sarah has changed multiple HUGE aspects of the novel. Like in the orginal Neheemia dies… but in this one she does not. ALSO we chatted about Celaena’s origin’s and I told her my hunch, but she wouldn’t let me know if I was right!!

This is a book not to be missed and an author to keep an eye on!!

Review: HOLY FREAKING CRAP! So this novella was pure genius. It almost felt like a pure novel. I’ve never read anything like it before. I love the strong female lead and the quest for what is right. I thought maybe Celaena and the Pirate lord might have a little fling, but something entirely opposite happens.

The Assassin and The Desert (Throne of Glass #0.2)

The Silent Assassins of the Red Desert aren’t much for conversation, and Celaena Sardothien wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s not there to chatter, she’s there to hone her craft as the world’s most feared killer for hire. When the quiet is shattered by forces who want to destroy the Silent Assassins, Celaena must find a way to stop them, or she’ll be lucky to leave the desert alive.

Review: Celaena isn’t as cocky in this novella. I really liked that we got to see a less violent life for assassins. That sounds weird but it is true. This novella focuses on the consequences of Celaena’s actions from the first novella. I didn’t think that she would be betrayed in the end, and I really felt for her. The mute master was also just a genius character. I was scared of him and I wasn’t even there!

The Assassin and The Underworld (Throne of Glass #0.3)

When the King of the Assassins gives Celaena Sardothien a special assignment that will help fight slavery in the kingdom, she jumps at the chance to strike a blow against an evil practice. The misson is a dark and deadly affair which takes Celaena from the rooftops of the city to the bottom of the sewer—and she doesn’t like what she finds there.

Review: This novella focuses on finding out who in Celaena’s life she can actually trust. It also deals with the consequences of Arobynn’s actions on their relationship. Which Celaena can’t even define. We get a closer look into who Sam is and what he means in the bigger picture. Also readers will learn that Celaena isn’t as immortal as she appeared to be in the previous novella’s.

The Assassin and The Empire (Throne of Glass #0.4)

Review: I can’t believe Arobynn did that to Celaena. I didn’t even see it coming, I really wanted him to be the one she could count on. Celaena has come to terms and recognized her feelings for Sam. The couple is a Assassin team of gods. Together it feels like they could never be beaten. In the end forces conspire against them. The evil ones, aren’t who you would think and our heart is going to break. I had to fight back tears in the end.

Review: I was excited to read this book, because it is in the new genre loosely labeled New Adult. Also the cover sounded good and the plot interesting. I wouldn’t say it didn’t live up to all my expectations. I did enjoy reading Dissolve for the most part. Their were just parts that grated at me. Andrea Heltsley was able to capture my attention and keep me guessing.

I was fascinated to find out what was up with Cora. The sudden bouts of illness I knew meant something more. Not to mention the premise of the book is that she Dissolves. Anyways, I didn’t like that it felt like she brushed off her fiancé’s death. I loved the relationship between Nessa and Cora, but it was all a little unsettling, after that. When we were introduced to new characters I was fascinated. I watched the plot unveil with questions spinning in my head and all my answers were incorrect.

I still don’t know who the bad guy is in the novel. I thought I had it figured out, but I don’t!! That ending!!! MAN! That hasn’t happened in a long time!! There is set to be a sequel and I am just invested yet to want to read more.

I have been writing novels, short stories, plays, essays and poems for half a century. It is my calling and I will continue to write for the rest of my life. I am a product of the New York public school system and graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and New York University, where I majored in English literature. I was inspired by my freshman English Professor Don Wolfe, and went on to study creative writing with him when he taught at the New School. Have you found writing a novel easier with every one you finish? Or just as hard?

Writing novels, like all works of art, requires total concentration and dedication. Some are more difficult than others. Each one is a challenge. It is always a difficult project. But it is an undertaking I relish and will continue to do so.

What has been the best experience of your career so far?

Getting my second novel Banquet Before Dawn published by a major publisher Putnam, who subsequently published seven of my novels.

Did you always know you wanted to be a writer?

Absolutely.

What advice would you give to teens who have aspirations to be a writer?

Don’t just talk about it. Write. Write. Write. And read all the great classic novels you can get your hands on.

Can you tell us five things your readers might not know about you?

· I have been taking a short afternoon nap for the past fifty years.

· The hard work of writing takes place in your mind before you write a single word.

· I have been writing five pages a day minimum, seven days a week for fifty years.

· I use to write on three electric smith corona typewriters, one at the ready, one in the shop, one on call, until I took up the computer in the sixties.

· I served in the Pentagon during the Korea War as the only Washington correspondent for Armed Forces Press Service and met General George Marshall on the day he retired as Secretary of Defense.

Any plans for book 34 yet?

Yes. It is already written.

Are you going to be doing any events or signings?

Many events are being arranged for me. I try to avoid book signing parties. I have had hundreds and I don’t want people to feel they are obliged to buy my books because they are getting free booze.

Review: So the world of magic and the mob scene of Chicago clash in this novel!! I’ve never seen two more complex worlds be written into a novel like in this series. I got everything I could ever want out of Bound! I would like to read a novella about Mo’s life now that it is all kind of over with!!

Let’s face it I just love Mo as a character. I couldn’t believe it when she started working for the mob in the last book, but it all makes sense since she was saving the ones she loves. I thought her mother was just kind of blissfully unaware, but that is so not true we find out. Colin, I like him, remember when I was Torn…. Well I am so not anymore… Luc is the guy for me. Maybe it’s all of his cool weapons or the leather jackets or the fire thing. In the end though, I think it’s his softee side.

I thought is was pretty cool that Maura’s flat friend Lena was explored further. It was really cool to learn that aspect of her life. I never expected the twists in this installment. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but I never thought things would turn out the way they did.

I love this series and am sad to see it end. I am happy that Erica is working on a new novel though! Make sure you read Bound!

Review: First off this cover is brilliant, the girl with her back turned looking into the water fits Lucy perfectly. I had a bit of trouble actually getting into the novel. For about fifty pages I have no idea what happened. Which is the party where you know Lucy dies and comes back. In retrospect as I have been really thinking about this novel, I do believe it was intended to be read that way. It’s either that or the rule of the world Mr. Johnson was building were blurry and baffled me. I haven’t been able to decide. If we had fully understood what we read, nothing would have been left to explore in the end.

Lucy changed into a whole new character by the end of the novel. She was forced to grow up in her death. Her whole way of life was turned upside down. I was confused along with her as she died and then had to understand the rules of her new life. I didn’t fully fall for Zack something about him made me hold back. There were several minor characters I wish were given more screen time, but it would have drawn from the main conflict I believe. Anyways the idea that Grimm Reapers are lost souls who have been taken and have come back to collect, freaked me out. I truly thought that maybe Abraham was there to help Lucy but than BAM. Very clever Mr. Johnson, very clever.

While the main character is fifteen the book read with a larger vocabulary that I was immensely grateful for. If your looking for something a bit different pick up Dead Girl.

Review: Well I have to immensely thank Splinter for sending me a signed ARC. I couldn’t even believe my eyes. I started right away reading. So here’s the thing. I thought this was the last book, because of the four quests and this one being the last. WRONG. There is one more after this! Colleen must really love us! In my last review I wanted to know how Lokesh got his powers. Tiger’s Destiny answers that and much more! Colleen Houck never fails to capture her readers and continues to do so in Tiger’s Destiny!

Kelsey is in a predicament after the last novel and Lokesh is taking advantage of her weaknesses. I could almost feel Lokesh’s gaze on me as if I were Kelsey and it freaked me out immensely. Later on, speeding through some plot points to not give anything away, I found myself crying. Like openly weeping. I loved this character and their death hit me hard. I mourned with everyone in the novel, like I was standing there and watching it happen myself.

The quest’s challenges lead directly to Kelsey’s character growth and final revelations. I was a bit distracted in all the action, because I really wanted to know who she would choose and if she would be honest with herself. The physical quest paled in comparison to me to the emotional and mental quests the characters went through.

About 3/4s to the end a huge revelation hit me. I knew what was coming and holy freaking crap how had I missed this through the previous three books. It should have been obvious people!!! Colleen I don’t know how you managed to pull this off you are a genius. I was so distraught when my suspicion was confirmed I ran around in my pajamas trying to get a hold of my emotional turmoil.

Victoria Schwab is my Rockstar. She's my rockstar, because I admire everything she does. Her writing is original and beautiful. As a person she isn't afraid to be the person she wants to be.

Can you share a bit about yourself?

I'm 25.
Growing up, I wanted to be an interrogator.
I suffer from FERNWEH, or "farsickness."
I believe in magic.
My favorite word is PETRICHOR.
Contrary to popular believe, I do not live IN the internet.
I write books.

What character that you have written so far has been your favorite?

It's a tie between two characters in THE ARCHIVED, Wesley, and Roland (and no, they don't make up a love triangle). Wesley, my tall, lean, guyliner-wearing boy, has some of my favorite lines *ever*, and Roland, a Librarian, and Mackenzie's protector, is based on David Tennant.

If Tom Hiddleston, showed up on your doorstep, what would be your first reaction?

WIN. WIN. WIN. WIN. WIN.

But then honestly? I'd put the kettle on, and bake up some cookies, and then we'd sit down and have a lovely chat on archetypes and villainy and character. He's so pretty to look at, and he has such a lovely voice, I'd be content with table talk.

Have you started preparing for the apocalypse?

NO. As someone who has TWO books coming out in 2013, I choose to believe there will BE a 2013.

Have you done anything crazy in the pursuit of "research" for your novels?

For THE ARCHIVED, I've wielded weapons, locked myself in closets, and practiced fight scenes on friends (and alone in my apartment). For VICIOUS, I had to do a lot of actual research about resuscitation, since I like to kill characters, and then revive them.

You're being chased by a Zombie, what's your reaction? Do you flee, chop it's head off, take a stand etc. ?

I'm not a big believer in turning my back on the monster (that's when things go wrong) so I'd make sure I had a really, really big weapon, and then I'd make my stand. Ideally I'd like a machete, since decapitation seems like a solid plan, and even if the zombie somehow survives, you've taken away their ability to effectively hunt you.

What are you currently working on... if you can tell us?

I've just finished edits on VICIOUS, and right now I'm working on the sequel to THE ARCHIVED! It should come out Winter 2014, assuming it doesn't EAT MY SOUL first. I'm also working on a couple other books, but alas, I cannot talk about those yet :p

So this was just a whole lot of crazy. I learned a lot about rafflecopter during this contest. Anyways, since there are multiple entries people had the chance to win more than one prize.

So this was the picture I had as my desktop background. Provided writing inspiration for the project I am working on, and the guy is just hot. Also while I don't like a lot of tattoos, because they look stupid. I do like these ;p. My dad was borrowing my computer on vacation and he almost had a heart attack so I switched my background to something tamer. ;)

But even if you're not a winner today. At least you got to see those abs....
