So let’s see.. After XX many e-mails I finally got around to this…

A lot of people seem to like my work, and I’ve noticed that the more I “make” the more I’m “followed”. Which in turn means that I have to start updating this blog, thanks jerks… making me do even more work.

But the point of this post is actually about offline marketing, a familiar “trend” I’ve noticed over the past few months. That trend is, people seem to be getting more and more interested, yet my market isn’t any less saturated. So what gives?

I’m honestly wondering what’s holding people back, but then I occasionally think to myself, what held me back? And then I get this cool little light bulb that goes ‘ding-ding’ in my head.

Here’s my take on why people think offline marketing is hard, when in reality it’s stupidly simple.

Scared

Terrible Work Ethic

Too Much Trolling <— Personally suffered from

Now I’m going to try and cover these to the best of my ability, but please bare with me

#1 – Scared

Well everyone is scared of something right? I’m honestly not afraid of a lot of things, but the things I am scared of well… they scare the crap out of me. But fear is only an obstacle, an obstacle that can always be overcome with effort. I know it might be hard to actually “overcome” said fears but once you do the feeling is amazing. When I first started in offline marketing, I was scared, plain and simple. It was hard for me to pick up the phone and call someone, drive to a client meeting with confidence, and actually “sell” those business owners once we had met face to face. Afterwards though, it honestly feels like a boulder is lifted from your shoulders and you’ve been set free. The first time someone handed me a $1,500.00 check I almost screamed. It was exciting, not to mention I was 16 so that was a TON of money to me, but exciting nonetheless. Being scared of something is human nature, and there is no way of getting around that. You’ll be scared no matter what you do, whether that’s going to a job interview or driving to pitch a client. But just remember that since you have to be scared, why not do something that lets you be your own boss?

#2 – Terrible Work Ethic

From an employer standpoint, I know I personally cannot stand an unproductive employee. It’s like why am I paying you if you’re just gonna sit on your ass? But from an employee standpoint, and more importantly from a entrepreneur standpoint I completely understand. My weakness used to be video games (I was 16 leave me alone…). But the only way I found that I was productive was by completely cutting them out of my life, except for one. So I more/less chose my favorite game, set aside XX hours a week for play time and enjoy every single minute of it. The key to being successful is time management, it honestly is; I found that my business nearly doubled after 6 months of productiveness. In my case I set aside 8 hours a day for work, 12 for my girlfriend, and 4 for sleep. It’s not healthy but I’m 18, so I’ll manage.

#3 – Too Much Trolling (Inner Nerd Alert Warning)

The fact that I just used the word “trolling” should prove to you just how much of a nerd I used to be, or am rather? Either way, “trolling” is spending too much time saying you’re going to do something or trying to find the “next big and easy thing”. If you find yourself browsing forums or websites a lot, reading hundreds if not thousands of posts, and never actually “acting”, you’re trollin. Seriously you just have to get out there and start working. It might be boring building back-links or writing code, or heck it might even be more boring trying to find someone who can do those two things (if you’d like to know exactly how to do all of that, grab my products… Sorry I had too ). The trick is to just actually sit down and start doing the work, sounds easy but trust me I know exactly how hard it is.

So that’s it for me! I’ll be trying to post a couple times a week from now on for everyone, I’ve had a lot of “requests” so it’s time to actually fulfill my customers wishes.

Hope everyone enjoyed the post!

-Will

Hey guys,

Well it’s been a little while since I’ve made a post, but I’m back and ready to start hitting up the blog again. Anyways though I just wanted to take a few minutes to talk about something I’ve noticed lately in the IM (Internet Marketing) industry. I work both online and offline and this post applies to both more or less so it’s worth reading if you consider yourself an online/offline marketer.

Over the past few months, since around the new year, more and more people have been getting into internet marketing. That’s great, but only problem is that most of them have all been getting into the industry for the wrong reasons. People want $$$ which of course is great, but absolutely, 100% the wrong reason for starting to work online. I did this when I got involved in IM back in ’05. I was just starting high school and was dying for some extra cash. Soon to my realization everything I tried failed, for one simple reason. I wanted money… I should have been wanting to be successful and been rewarded with money later on.

Right now I’m going to just tell you something that whether or not you hang on my every word or think I’m an idiot, you should agree. If you want to be successful and make a living in this, you have to love the game. You can’t just want to make money online. You have to love internet marketing and the entire idea of working online. If you want instant money go rob a bank (not seriously), but IM and OM (Offline Marketing) are not goldmines. You won’t become a millionaire overnight, and you most certainly won’t make anything online until you’ve come to that realization.

This post isn’t a rant, but more of an eye opener for a lot of the new guys in the industry. You have to start small and learn the ropes; it’s an absolute must. Every successful individual in the world started small, because unless you’re born into money you can’t make your millions overnight.

With that said though, I’m hoping everyone is having a great successful year so far in 2011. I know this is definitely going to be the best year I’ve ever had in IM/OM, hopefully I’ll finally break that 6 figures mark.

Best wishes,
Will Perkins

Hey everyone, Will Perkins here with a bit of an inspirational / thought provoking post today.

Something every internet marketer at one point or another asks themselves is, “Will I make it?”. It’s a good question, and there are a lot of variables that go into the answer. But the answer still and will always remain, yes or no.

After reading a good two or three hundred posts on the WarriorForum the other day about how people were asking what to do and whether or not they’d be successful, something inspired me to write this post.

So the question of the day is, Will I Make It?

The answer to this question should be yes, although it can be no just as easily. To be a successful internet marketer, you have to work hard, be patient, and stay focused. Anyone who gets interested in this industry and begins to think, “I’ll make $10,000.00 this month”, well you’re probably going to fail miserably and quit. But someone who says, “I’m going to make $10,000.00 within the next 6 months”, well they’re on track for success. Time and time again I see people worrying about going for the gusto (I know I just used a phrase our moms said to us, but hey it’s the internet… get over it). The trick is to just never quit and keep working and you will find success.

Here are some key things I see people having trouble with on a daily basis:

Fear – This is probably the most popular reason you see marketers fail. If you are afraid to go for it, you won’t make it. If you’re afraid to invest that last $50.00 in your bank account because you’re worried you won’t make it back, you will fail. It doesn’t matter whether you started working in this industry ten years ago or ten minutes ago. If you fail, GREAT! Because what does this mean? It means you’ve actually tried something and it didn’t work out, so next time you know what NOT to do. So forget about feeling safe, because once you’re past that feeling of fear, nothing will stop you.

Unwillingness to get uncomfortable – Are you someone who likes to stay in their comfort zone? Do you not really like putting yourself in awkward situations? Well guess what, get over yourself. Internet marketing is about making money, so if you have to get a little uncomfortable to bring in the sale, will you? I know that when I started I was afraid to start up a conversation with any of the other marketers I knew. I kept telling myself to add more and more people on Skype or AIM, but I never actually messaged any of them. Finally, I just said screw it and sparked up a conversation. Turned out to be one of the most helpful conversations in my IM career and helped me make my first $50.00 online. The goal is to get out of that comfort zone and do something that makes you feel completely uncomfortable. For example: About six months ago I launched a website on food reviews. I’m not a food critic by any means, but I still made the website because I found a profitable niche and knew I would make money if I went for it. The moral of the story is to get out of your comfort zone, and stay out of it.

“Nothing is so common as to imitate one’s enemies, and to use their weapons.” (Voltaire) – What this quote is saying, is make sure you know your competition. Every time I see a famous internet marketer, or a successful product launched, I analyze it. In our business, success is found through knowledge, and knowledge is found through research. Not enough marketers are realizing this simple, yet very effective method. If you know what made your competition successful, you can take that and apply it to yourself. So not only do you have your advantage, you have your competitions as well.

Learning when to just stop – If you’ve found something you’re good at, great. If you’ve found something that makes you money, even better. But the true trick here, is to know when to just stop doing the work yourself and giving it to someone else. Not even the great names in internet marketing like Kelly Felix or Jason Fladlien can do everything by themselves. Once you realize that outsourcing is going to actually save you money; because your time is worth more than you’d make from doing it yourself, you’re golden. Your time as an internet marketer is worth a LOT more than it is as a article writer or a link builder. You could be paying someone else to do that for you, while you sit and think about new products and ideas to come up with.

Getting to the market first – You’ve got a great idea, now what? ACT ON IT! The longer that idea sits in your head, the more time you give someone else to go and take a chunk of the market. As soon as you find something you think will make money, get to work and make sure you are getting something out there as fast as possible. Your competition isn’t going to wait for you.

My first sale! What now?!? – Most of you are thinking, “Yes! I just made my first $100.00, time to go out to eat and celebrate”. Wrong…. Every penny you make, minus whatever it costs you to live, needs to go back into your business. Once you are able to pay for outsourcing, upscaling, and covering all other costs involved, then you can consider taking a chunk of that profit for some fun. But this is a major mistake marketers make, spending the green before they are able to see more of it.

Relationships - I’ve seen this said on countless other websites, but it’s truly the most important statement here. Building relationships with other internet marketers. If you ever want to be able to launch a $100,000.00 product, you need to have a lot of other people backing you. Get individuals to be advertising for you on their lists, and you do the same for them. Just build good, solid relationships with as many other marketers as you can. It pays off in the end, trust me.

I really do hope you take what I’ve just said to heart and try to apply it to your marketing careers as I have, because it really does pay off.

Have you ever come across the problem of not having enough visitors to your website? You ever feel as though you’re not getting the proper attention you deserve? To be honest, I get it all the time with a large number of my websites and never actually feel as though I’m getting enough of my targeted market.

The nice thing is, that with the way the internet goes today you can develop methods of getting high end traffic from your target market. And on top of that, you can do it absolutely FREE! The only catch to getting the traffic you want is that it will require work, research, and those sorts of nights where you find yourself sitting with a coffee cup saying, “Where am I?”

I won’t lie to you, and I definitely won’t try to “scam” you. Getting free traffic can be hard, although if you follow this post and do your research it will make it incredibly easier. A key element to generating free traffic though, is its worth. Free traffic is essentially like running a store and having hundreds of customers come in from referrals; once you’ve laid down the ground work the traffic generation just won’t stop coming. If you’re still reading I assume that you’re interested, so let’s get started…

Method #1

Online Communities/Forums – Going to your average forum daily and posting while at the same time advertising your site as much as possible will gain you some attention. Users on that website will eventually notice the links you’ve carefully placed inside posts and threads and will click on them, potentially becoming your next customer or member of your site.

Method #2

Newsletters & Mailing Lists – If you can get yourself connected with a openly published newsletter/mailing list you will find that people read most of their emails and click on a large number of links they find.
Starting a newsletter/mailing list is also a great idea, especially if your skilled in the topic discussed, people subscribed to your newsletter will respect you and follow most links in your letters if they find them informative. By putting effort into every email you send out, your subscribers will more than likely turn into a customer. Like I said before, put some effort in, reap the rewards for forever.

Method #3

Link Exchange – This is probably one of the best options out of these methods; when exchanging links you and another webmaster are exchanging links with one another making search engines see these links, and increasing both of your back links, making your page-rank and search engine ranking rise.

Method #4

Article Writing/Submissions – If you have some pretty good grammar skills and a couple creative thoughts floating around this option can significantly help you out! Write a couple articles based on your niche and then submit them to article submissions sites such as ArticleHub & Alumbo. When you put the article on these sites make sure to include links back to your page, when someone views the site they typically follow back to see who the author is and that gives you a new visitor to your web page. Remember, all visitors are possible customers!

Method #5

Keyword Research – I won’t go into deep detail about this since I will be significantly covering it in a later post that will be released soon, but if you choose the proper keywords and optimize your website to have them read by search engines you will automatically be listed under a new keyword. Every time this happens, you have a better chance at becoming #1 on a new keyword.

Just remember, with a little effort you can get that 500/unique visitors daily that you want. Don’t expect to get all this at once, because you will just become disappointed. Traffic Development takes time.

That concludes my small tips and hints for today, but you can expect my articles to help you develop your online business.
