A brand is something that sets you apart from your competition. As you are walking down the aisle in the store, you will see many brands of shampoos, laundry detergents, cosmetics, and the list goes on. Each product has a particular function, laundry soap is for cleaning laundry, shampoo to wash hair, but what sets them apart? Why do you choose on brand over the other? You have somehow developed a connection to a certain brand, either by their promotional methods, referral by someone you trust, you may have tried it and liked the results, or just curiosity. This is where branding comes into play for you. You are going to create a brand that sets you apart from the rest, something that will connect to the public, to those who will benefit from your product.

You want to create an impression that will last “forever” in the minds of your prospects. Take a closer look as you watch ads on TV, or that you hear on the radio, what angles are they taking to get your attention? Let me give you a few tips on how to use the same angles that the pros use.

When someone contacts your business by phone, what response to they get? Are they greeted by a generic voicemail asking them to leave a message, or are they greeted by a real person with a friendly voice, ready to help the caller with their request?

Do you have a niche slogan, something memorable and appealing, gaining the trust of your potential customer? Let me give you some examples.

* Melts in your mouth, not in your hands.
* Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t.
* Obey your thirst.
* It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
* So easy a Caveman can do it.
* Good to the last drop.

As you read these slogans, did the product immediately come to your mind? As you can see, the product is not listed in any of these slogans, but you automatically associate the brand with the slogan. You want to create a slogan that will invoke the same connection, something that will be simple, but unforgettable. You want to evoke a special expectation of your product, and make your motto your magnetic signature.

On your website, you have an About Me page, what you put here will create the impression you are striving for in the mind of your reader. What do you want your prospect to know about you?

Are you hardworking, expert in your niche, honest, trustworthy, dependable, creative, successful, etc…? You want to create your about me page to be something that will be engraved in your customers mind, and this can’t be done just by claiming to have these traits. You need to tell short stories, share experiences, that will evoke the feelings of loyalty and trust. You are creating a brand for yourself in the mind of your prospects.

Take these tips and put them to work in your viral marketing strategy, you will be on your way to creating your own brand that will be as memorable as the ones you hear and never forget.

Let’s start out by first explaining the definition of a “forum”.  Simply, a forum is a place online where you are free to discuss and participate in topics of interest.  There will be sections that will correspond to each topic.  You can join in on the listed topics, or start your own thread.

When you first join a forum, you will introduce yourself and the topics you are interested in.  There are so many advantages for your business to become involved with internet forums.  I will list a few of these advantages here, but remember, this is just a few reasons.

Advantage #1
Learning more about your particular interest. As you participate in a forum, you will begin to bond with the other members in your group. The members of that group will begin to trust you, expressing their doubts, fears, and questions about that topic. You may become the “expert” they are searching for, someone who is there to share valuable knowledge and information. You will also learn more by reading the questions and replies by other members.

Advantage #2
Method of increasing traffic to a website. You have just created a website, but you don’t have any traffic yet. How can forums help you create traffic? Not only will you create traffic to your website, but you will be doing it for free. When you sign up on a forum, you will have an option to create a signature, which will be automatically attached to each post you write. Your signature can include your website, which will be an automatic invitation to the forum members. If you have contributed something of value to the forum, then no only will your post be read, but your name and URL to your website.

Advantage #3
A chance to get to know others with similar interests. Face it, working online can become a pretty lonely business, since you don’t really interact with the public. Forums are a great way to make connections with fellow marketers, or those who have the same interests or passions. Share ideas with, create friendships, have the comfort of know that there are so many more that are in the same spot you are in. You no longer feel so alone in cyberspace.

Backlinks are created, which affects your page ranking in a very positive way. Many marketers will exchange links with other sites which will increase the number of backlinks to their own site. As they exchange backlinks, they are boosting their page ranking as well as boosting search engine ranking. An example would be your signature which includes your website URL. With every post, you will get a backlink to your website. The more you post, the more backlinks you create.

Internet forums are a great way to enhance your viral marketing strategy. It may take a little more time, but worth every minute of it. Not only will you be creating traffic to your site, you will become an expert in your topic or niche. You will gain respect and trust of the other forum members, creating a positive reputation.

Another quick note, for those of you who are ready for an even bigger challenge, you can create your own internet forum. You don’t need to be a whiz kid or geek to do this. You can choose from several hosting sites that will help you. If you create your own forum, you are actually creating your own viral social network that will display your Adsense codes and banner. If you are ready to kick your viral marketing into high gear, then this may be your ticket.

The major search engines put a lot of credence on the number of links coming into your websites, which determines how important that site is. Did you know that there are approximately 14.5 billion viewers on the web, which is about 97 videos per person, just here in the US. Wow, that is a lot of video watching, and an obvious market to tap into.

If you are going to use video marketing, what do you need to know? You have the option of making a sales, informational, or educational video. The word from top internet marketers is informational videos will outrank sales videos. People are looking for useful information, not necessarily to be sold on something. If the video gives them great information, they will continue to visit your site, which will then, increase your sales.

There are a few types of videos that will be very effective for your viral campaign. A simple way to get started is with a Slideshow – This is a simple video with pictures and titles, along with your voice over. This is a great way to get yourself noticed. Have a call to action in your video, which is vital to your business. Add your address, and or website at the end of your video, as you cannot include a link.

Don’t be intimidated by video marketing, you don’t need to be a Hollywood director in order to produce a good video. Matter of fact, it truly is very simple with all the programs available to help you. You don’t need a Hollywood production to get hits on your video, just some great information.

Well, I will tell you what the big deal is, and that is….viral marketing! If you are not that familiar with Twitter, then you are about to learn something new that will be a big boon for your blogs and websites. This is a way of keeping tabs on your status at all times, what are your interests, how you spend your day, what sites do you like to visit, what are your hobbies, etc…every time you post what you are doing, or thinking about, it is called a “Tweet”.

Your tweet can be personal or to reflect your business. There are a number of applications that can be used to maximize your brand and company, letting your followers know who you are and what you have to offer. This is a huge bonus to those of us in the Internet Marketing community, allowing you the publicity, and then some great financial benefits.

Here are a few tips to help you use Twitter in your viral marketing campaign:

• Make your profile unique to your company and brand. Include your website or blog in your profile, which will draw in much wanted traffic.
• Make sure you have your values posted, and never, ever SPAM.
• Look for others that are Tweeting about your niche, follow them, get to know them, and you will find that they will follow you in return.
• Don’t be shy about posting, get involved, reply to others that post, keep yourself on the grid.
• Don’t be “pushy” with your business, but do offer to help others with valuable content, advice, information, etc…when you have something valuable to offer, they will come.

1. E-books are so inexpensive to create and it takes so little time to set up.

If you have already written articles about the niche or topic you are promoting, simply combine these articles to create an informative E-book. Or, let’s say that writing isn’t your forte, all you need to do then is use rebrandable E-books written and produced by someone else.

All you need to do is search the web for “Re-brandable Ebooks”. You will find more than you need, giving you lots to choose from. Now that you have found an E-book, you will distribute them as a free gift for your subscribers or to visitors to your web site.

Hopefully, your E-book contains material that your readers will want to share with their family and friends, passing it along to them… and the process will continue down the line. As it is continually passed on to others… and you will be making money.

2. E-books have the capacity of reaching a massive audience

And for this reason, it is crucial that your E-book is not only informative, but also timely in the information, along with some humor, making it fun and exciting to read. It needs to something that is worth passing on, talked about, and remembered.

Define Me: This application allows you to anonymously list words that defines you. These descriptive words will be displayed in a word cloud on your profile. This will allow others to take a closer look at who you are and what you offer.

GLPrint Business Cards: If you like to have a nice online business card, this is the app you need to create a flashy, one of a kind digital business card.

IEndorse: I am sure you know by now how valuable a good testimony is for your business, building the value and reputation. This app allows other Facebook users to endorse your company as well as find it through the IEndorse database.

My BusinessBlinkWeb: This allows you to create a widget that others can place on their profiles, and this widget promotes your business. You are basically advertising on the profiles of your friends and family.

Professional Profile: This is a great application as it creates a tab on your profile listing all your professional information, contacts, and activities. This is great if you want to divide your personal and work information.

Want to Promote A Blog?

Networked Blogs application: This will show up in your boxes tab or on your profile, displaying your blogs as well as those you like to read. This will promote your blogs as well as the blogs of others.

RSS Connect: You know how beneficial RSS Feeds are, and this way your RSS can be on your profile, or better yet, have its own tab on your profile.

Telephone: This is a great app that allows you to call your Facebook buddies for free. If you don’t feel like calling them, then send an instant message or leave a voice message. This technology is provided by babyTel, and is totally free.

SmartMessageCenter: This smart tool allows you to send a message to an individual or a bunch of messages to to groups of people, and you get a message back. This is great for gathering info and then organize it onto a single page. You can then export the message as a RSS, PDF, or XLS file.

Smart Phone: This app allows phone to phone communication, and adds some features for conference calling, all from your Facebook profile.

Voice Mail: You can have voice enable wall posts, voice messaging, and voice chat. You get to add the benefits of sound to your profile, or just allow someone to leave you a voice message.

The Power of Networking

Introductions: Need to introduce yourself but not sure how? This application will assist you in that.

SocialFly: This is a great tool to help you keep tabs of, manage, and set up reminders for your contact list. This can be used for personal or business contacts, or both.

My Linkedin Profile: Your Linkedin profile will be displayed as a badge on your Facebook profile.

Tag Biz Business Network: This puts a tag cloud on your profile with descriptive tags of your business and of your participating friends.

Workin’ It: This is a great way to get your work experience out in front of potential employers or clients, and will also gather recommendations from co-workers and friends.

Project Management and Collaboration

We all know how important collaboration is for any business, and there are a couple of Facebook applications that can help with that.

My Office: This is a virtual office that can get everyone on the project on the same page, allowing the sharing of documents, keeping track of tasks, and so much more.

Huddle by WorkSpaces: This app will allow you to share and store documents, collaborate on projects, make plans, and more.

Some other applications you may be interested in checking out are My Money; a online banking app that is great for a small business or individual. If you are looking to create your own, easy to remember Facebook address, you can do it with Memorable Web Address for Profile, Page or Group.

Facebook has really begun to shine in the business world, becoming a household and office name. You can pretty much run your business directly from your Facebook profile, how about that!
