Google+ is yet another tool in the Social Media arsenal, and I have a Squidoo Lensmaster Circle called 23 Squidoo that is now 70 Lensmasters strong and growing.

We don't need to sit home and suffer in silence, there are a number of ways to affect change in Lower Morris Park. What we do need is to utilize monies available through good grant writing proposals. We also need to get rid of the "Do Nothing Rivera's" I want them to be investigated by the FBI, CIA and the Ethics Comity. I'm not sure how you go about doing this.
If I seem gruff and somewhat illiterate, please do excuse me; you see when I wanted to go to college, my father was told he made too much money for me to get help, instead our tax dollars went to putting illegals and minorities through college. Ironically, these are the very same people now that need a voice in lower Morris Park. I'd also like to tell the people who are voting to stop letting their vote be bought by politicians who occasionally throw you a turkey on Thanksgiving, or take you to the Botanical Gardens and feed you a bologna sandwich. I mean really? Really!? Your vote is worth so much more than that. Teach a man to fish ...

For all the do-nothing politicians, and people who like to block longtime residents from a "Community" FaceBook page and cleanse their comments and stifle free speech; all this will come back to you in spades. BTW, we'd like to see all the minutes for the past year; you'll be getting a letter about it and so will the BP and Mayor Bloomberg. I guess that's the only way to be heard; we have all illegals here and people who are unwilling to get involved because of the organized crime element involved. This was the outcome of my meeting last night so the bad guys will keep winning, and around here it's hard to tell them apart. This is cutting into my work search time too; so now I'm even more pissed off.

This is why we're losing Federal Funding; crime is being under-reported, it's not enough to put a 1 inch x 1 inch blurb in a police blotter in the back of a local rag.
Also, the reason why no one cares about us down here, enough to give us the head's up is that by and large most people don't give a crap enough to vote; or get involved, and maybe it's cause they're felon's or illegals. I really don't know why. What I do know is as a result of that, many of our beloved elected officials are looking to dump us through rezoning. So we'll have another 10 years of the Rivera's and their "Do-Nothing Dynasty"; so I hope you all understand that the youth of Morris Park have a bright future behind them, and if it's crime that puts money in the pocket and food on the table than that's what it'll be.

Fatal shooting on Hone Avenue off of Morris Park. Uh, let's get it right, we're Morris Park; the News shows and papers never get our location right; they should be ashamed of themselves for not doing their research right.

You better WAKE UP MORRIS PARK someone's child could have been caught in the crossfire, or any of us for that matter; stop approving liquor licenses for establishments in residential areas, especially a side-street. This is why I say we should be writing to the Mayor and the Borough President to have Board Members removed and quite frankly it should be voted on in November to have Community Boards done away with all together. Community Boards are a waste of tax payers money, it's a bureaucratic job and the board members never reach out to the people they represent. Nobody goes to the meetings because they know it's a bunch of bullshit and a waste of their time; they should be made to video tape all the open meetings (not that there should be closed ones, but there are), and put on a dot.gov web site along with a text file of the minutes. Having a FaceBook Page where respected members of the community are thrown out of the group or asked to remove comments is wrong. Someone is going to sue them for interfering in their Right to Free Speech, and I know I'm not the only one that feels this way.

My cousin died in Vietnam so that I can enjoy the Right to Free Speech; it's not cool to ask someone to remove a comment or remove them from a group because it's not the candy-coated bullshit that they want to put forth. Sorry, I calls it likes I sees it and be forewarned the next phone call or message I get asking me to cleanse my blog will be met with a lawsuit, and it will be posted here and/or on YouTube.

We've all been complacent for way too long and this is why Lower Morris Park has become a ghetto, and economically dead; my friend just closed his furniture store, whose next, maybe it'll be your store. We need help down here we have "No Show" politicians and it's time for them to go. Maybe the solution would be to ask for a written ballot in November and to right a real member of the community in instead of people who are just gerrymandering.

Go to the NYS Liquor Authority and do a search on this address frequently so we don't get fooled again. Of course they have a few store fronts so the numbers might be a little off; I'll give you all the other alternatives after I do a little research. This was the location of Club Deja Vu, and it looks like there is work going on as I write; let's make sure we don't end up with another bar down here; we don't need it we have 2 in-between White Plains Road and Bronxdale already, be diligent and let's stop letting people who don't live down here, tell us what to do in our neighborhood.

Maybe a local Best Buy or Staples can donate some equipment so we can start video taping the Community Board meetings and putting them on YouTube before it's too late down here. We need people that represent us here in Lower Morris Park and I can't do it alone and with the equipment I have my computer is getting ready to die. This is what we need to be doing, we need to be pro-active. Apparently we can't count on the Bronx Times Reporter to tell us what really goes on around here; afterall the powers that be wouldn't want the Real Estate prices to tumble. So they feed us some gobble-dee gook and think we're all a bunch of morons who wont get involved and fight back and I have to say that so far they're right.

Where our our elected officials Naomi & Joel Rivera? They've gone unchallenged for over 10 years now. We need people who will create programs to re-purpose people like me who are out of work, and/or create a way to fund local people so they can create small businesses that will employ one or two local people. Service businesses, things that communities need; not another 24 hour store.
Sal from Conti's is running for president of the Morris Park Association and I hope he gets voted in; he understands the importance of small business, and is also very tech. savvy. Maybe it will be time when stuff like what I'm trying to do get's recognized, like social media marketing. We need to wake up Morris Park and please don't tell me that Latino people don't care because they can be some of the most passionate people when it comes to politics. I live in a building that is mainly Latino and they are all good people, whom I get along with.
I applaud the fact that CB 11 has a FaceBook Page but not everyone is on FaceBook; further more if you have someone blocked or vica-versa, you aren't getting the whole picture. The other issue is, the DM don't want any negativity on the group's page; however not everything is all blue skies and palomino ponies down here below Bronxdale in the Forgotten Morris Park. We need to bring back The Deadicated Group as a Community Watchdog Group because we have enough neighborhood associations and they don't seem to be helping in affecting change. Also we need someone who will run against Joel and Naomi; so how do we get this done?

I'm sorry I ever voted for Schumer and Gillibrand, and will definitely not be doing so in the future; these two have consistently supported legislation I don't like. We are heading down a very slippery slope in this country; our freedoms and right to privacy are being chipped away at on a daily basis and nobody seems to notice or care. Then we have the nerve to go into other countries and tell them how to live and what's right; and in doing so, making enemies and spending money we don't have. We give money away to countries that don't need it and will never get off the tit if we don't stop this practice, while we ignore the needs of our own legal citizens whose tax dollars foot the bill for all this nonsense. As an act of solidarity The Deadicated Group has blacked out their site and the rest of this blog's front page. We are encouraging other web site operators to do the same for a 12 - 24 hour period of time (today). Stop SOPA and PIPA, no good can come from it; and it will most certainly lead to more job loss in the long run.

By not getting involved in government we are all guilty of America's downfall; look no further than what's happened to Lower Morris Park where I can't even get one person to go to a community board meeting with me. Shame on you, I can't do it alone; we should be questioning authority, and going to these meetings and video taping them as we ask to speak in the gallery. We have a 24 hour store on every block? How many people actually get jobs in these stores? I can see having one or two here and there, however we don't need one on every block. Right now we should be calling our community board and local officials and questioning what business is getting ready to open on the corner of Wallace & Morris Park. How many people have actually done this? Not many I'm sure, instead another bar will probably open; create problems like Karma and Dejavu, then the phony politicians will "show up" right before election day, rounding up the usual suspects to stand behind them and fight to close it down.

You know, I'm getting sick of everybody's crap. Something was telling me NOT to look at the mail yesterday, to let it wait for Monday it'd keep; but do I ever listen to myself? NOOOOO! Sure enough there was a letter from the DoL stating that I'm entitled to a 20 week extension BUT need to start proving that I'm looking for work. Fair enough, now how do they expect you to do that if there are no jobs to apply for? Also, you go into some of these local businesses, and people get nasty with you (just for asking if they're hiring) and refuse to give their names (making it impossible to prove you spoke to someone). Or you are met with an online applications like the one above which practices age discrimination or class discrimination. Class discrimination!? You say? Absolutely, the other questions on that questionnaire had to do with being convicted of a felony, and asking if you're on public assistance or in a program. Why? They get incentives from the city to hire people on welfare (and the once middle-class soon to be poor person gets screwed again); Macy's did the same thing when I went to the one in Parkchester to apply in person a few years ago, the first page was a normal application then the rest of the next three pages had to do with the aforementioned.

Timing is Everything. I stopped by Conti's Bakery (which I've been cutting back on due to monetary & dietary concerns), to buy a chocolate pretzel just as they were getting ready to go on vacation; (score!!!) Sal sent me home with a bunch of goodies, and they made a lot of people happy in my building. My neighbor's birthday, Maria, who lives next door; and my friend upstairs is recovering from surgery (and yes it turned out to be cancer; the 7th person to have it in the building and the building next door) so I sent some goodies her way too. Plus I still have a whole cherry pie left. So a big Thank You to all of the Conti's Family, enjoy your vacation; I know that it's been non-stop since before Thanksgiving and they all deserve a break for sure. Timing is Everything!

May it be a safe one, full of Happiness, Goodwill toward your Fellow Man. I hope that all of us who are unemployed, find their Dream Jobs; and most important, may it be a Healthy one (after having one health scare after another this year, it's all to clear to me that if you don't have your Health you really don't have anything or can't enjoy all the rest). My Lentils are cooking as I write, Italians believe that they're good luck (because they resemble coins); so if you eat a spoonful, you'll have money in your pocket throughout the year. My mother use to have to chase me around the house with a spoonful of lentils because I didn't like them much; so when 5:00 PM rolled around (and I realized I had none in the house) I ran out to Big Deal at the last minute. Lol People take things for granted. This week I was told I had Glaucoma concerns, and was pretty devastated (me being an artist); when I went to get my new prescription for my glasses filled out ($450 later, ouch) my friend who's an optician told me it doesn't mean you'll go blind like it did years ago (he said it can be controlled with eye drops). So appreciate what have, as little as it may be "I complained I had no shoes, till I met a man with no feet".

Here's your chance to change things up at Community Board 11 (get an application and see if you can get on the Board); it's speak now or just keep your head up your @$$ (business as usual). Otherwise maybe it's time to make them part of the 311 system and have the DM go work downtown with Bloomberg. The Board members who represent us never reach out to the community; and quite frankly I'm tired of seeing Joey Bombace's name in The Bronx Times Reporter as the sole voice of Morris Park. This is the time he can be denied reappointment too; so think about it. Long time community members are being shut out of the political process; our ideas are never entertained and constantly nay-sayed. If we would have made an Arts & Computer Graphics Center and Gallery here on my block (like I wanted to do for 20 years now) instead of a damn Laundromat or yet another nail salon maybe things would have been different.

I see after complaining rather loudly about the minutes still being up for June they finally updated the page it's available here; but I guess we'll have to whistle for July, August, September & October. The other thing that worries me is I can't get any information about the corner property on the corner of Wallace & Morris Park; so my guess is that it will be a bar, giving the community no chance to fight it or welcome it either way. You people better wake the f@ck up out of your comas because I'm sick of reading about one crooked Bronx politician after another in the newspapers and having to deal with all the do-nothing politicians down here in Lower Morris Park (Naomi & Joel). Our elected officials are too busy figuring out ways to sceam and scam; instead of helping people start non-for-profits and make use of people who are professional grant writers to obtain millions of dollars that are available out there. I'm so disgusted with politics I dont even want to vote or endorse anyone anymore because they're all a bunch of crooks. Even the ones who aren't but they keep their mouths shut and that to me is just as bad.

Write to the above people after you Google "Roger Bombace" and then thank me. Give yourself the best Christmas present you can ever have, the right to Govern yourselves. Government starts locally; and a lot of these Board Members talk a good line of crap but yet we never do know how they're voting. It took us this long to get the June minutes off the page, but what about the other months? We had club Karma, Dejavu and a few other bars (or shall we say supposed restaurant grandfathered in) and nobody I know wanted them here to begin with. None putting money in any of our pockets. I'm tired of people complaining to me, you're preaching to the choir; and more important, I tired of asking people to go to the Community Board Meetings with me, like I was told "It can't always be you asking for stuff and complaining". Pretty soon there will be nowhere left for you cowards to run.
