Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 - Sunday - Srinagar – Kargil– Reach Srinagar by air/road (you are requested to inform us about your arrival time and mode of transport in advance. Please ensure that you reach Srinagar latest by 12.00 PM on this day. In case, you are not able to find an early flight on this day, we advise you to fly down a day before in Srinagar. You will be welcomed by our representative at arrival and escorted to the car for a scenic journey to Kargil, famed for the war of 1999. Enroute, we would stop at Drass where you could capture panoramic views of the Tiger Hill andTololing Hill. If time permits, we will try and visit the war memorial at Drass. Reach Kargil and check-in at Hotel to spend overnight.

Day 2 - Monday - Kargil – Leh (via Lamayuru)– Today we will start our journey to Leh. We will stopover at Mulbekh Monastery or Mulbekh Gompa, you can also visit famous giant Living Budha Sculpture on Rock Mountain here. We will cross Namika La or Namika Pass (el. 3,700 m or 12,139 ft), Pillar of the Sky Pass and Fotu La Pass (el. 4,108 m/13,478 ft). Here you can enjoy the Lunar Landscapes (resembling real moon surface). We move on to Lamayuru Monastery. After crossing Khalsi, we reach the charismatic Magnetic Hill, a gravity hill believed to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill. We arrive at Leh, the capital and prime town of Ladakh, and the second largest district in the country in terms of area. Check into hotel.

Day 3 - Tuesday - Leh – Pangong Tso - Leh- After an early breakfast, we would set out for Pangong Tso. Enroute visit the holy Monasteries like Shey Palace, a monastery noted for its giant copper and gold statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha and Thikse Gompa or Thikse Monastery, a 12-storey complex home to many stupas, statues, thangkas, wall paintings and swords. Resume journey towards Chang La Pass (el. 5,360 m or 17,590 ft), the third highest motorable road in the world. Guests can enjoy tea/coffee at the highest cafeteria. Reach Pangong Lake or Pangong Tso, considered one of the largest lakes in the region shared by India and China. Renowned Bollywood actor Aamir Khan shot for his record breaking movie “3 Idiots” at Pangong Lake. By evening, return to Leh, spend overnight in Hotel.

Day 4 - Wednesday - Leh – Nubra (via Khardung La)– A promising day with journey to Nubra. Enroute, stop at Khardung La Pass (world's highest motorable road at 17,582 feet/ 5,359 m). From the top, you can see all the way to the south, the Indus valley with seemingly endless peaks. We start descending down to the Panamik hot water spring. The pristine water is considered to have healing properties if you take a dip here. Head towards the camps in Hunder where the guests can visit Monastery or enjoy a Bactrian Camel (Double Humped Camel) ride on their own. Spend the night at the camps.

Day 5 - Thursday - Nubra – Leh– After an early breakfast, star for Leh, for sight seeing. Some attractions for the day are - Likir Monastery or Likir Gompa is a Buddhist monastery in Ladakh, located approximately 52 kilometres west of Leh. Alchi Monastery, unlike the other gompas in Ladakh is situated on a low land instead of a hilltop. Visit the 1000 year old mufrals / paintings of Alchi monastery. Hemis monastery is best known to tourists for its colorful festival that is celebrated in July. Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist white-domed stupa on a hilltop in Chanspa at Leh and holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama. Visit to the local market in the evening for shopping or picking up a souvenir. Overnight at Hotel in Leh

 

Day 6 - Friday - Leh – Kargil (via Batalik)– post breakfast, start for Kargil, on the way visit Batalik, one of the most famous war fought by the Indian soldiers in 1999 with Pakistan at this place, The route was opened for the tourists in 2010. Batalik is a part of the ancient Indus civilization and apt for trekking. Reach Kargil and spend the night in the Hotel.

Day 7 – Saturday - Kargil – Srinagar (via Sonamarg)– Post breakfast, start for Srinagar. Enroute, stop by at Sonmarg where guests may take a pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier on their own. This glacier is enveloped with snow all year long. Visit the beautiful Mughal gardens, Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh (abode of love built by Emperor Jehangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan) situated on the bank of Dal Lake. The place offers magnificent views of the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains at the backdrop. Guests can take a Shikara ride in the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir"- Dal Lake while feasting on the scrumptious kebabs and chilled Beer, on their own. Day 8 – Sunday – Return to Home – guests will be dropped at the airport / railway station / bus stop for onward journey. If you book flights in the evening, you can also visit the Shankaracharya Temple. From there, you will be dropped back to the airport. Tour ends here.
