?I was thrown into a state of sheer, mindless panic. ?It?s my mother!? I whispered fiercely, as if Bones hadn?t figured that out. ?Holy shit, you have to hide!? I literally shoved him toward the bedroom, yelling, ?I?I?ll be right there, I?m not dressed!? He went, but with none of my hysteria. ?Kitten, you still haven?t told her? Blimey, what are you waiting for??
The Second Coming of Christ!? I snapped. ?And not a moment sooner! Here, in the closet!?

This week Diayll?s swamped (*cough* on vacation *cough*) so I?m taking over the discussion. I?m going to break it down a little differently, and talk about Cat and Bones separately, and then again together. So much happened this week that any other way wouldn?t do it justice.

 
First Cat, well well well, someone developed a bit of a spine and did a lot of soul searching! I was astounded at her growth in these chapters. While she may not have actually confronted her mother yet, we do see that she has faced the fears. Beyond that, how about the hilarity of the meeting where she grabs hold of a certain member!

 
I enjoyed the jealousy. Whether we want to admit it or not, women are often jealous of other women, when they eye up there man or attempt to tease them with their bountiful assets. It doesn’t matter if our man isn’t interested either. This scene showed us that she really does see Bones as more than a piece of fine, aged, English meat. A small part of her is afraid to lose him. That is humanity and our insecurity in a nutshell, and it makes her role as a character that more believable.

 
Onto Charles (Spade), and another laughable scene where Cat first meets him. I liked the way she went all Buffy on him, but it didn?t stop there. Every time someone meets her, they treat her as if she?s just a woman. She might not be all high and mighty full vampire strong, but don?t underestimate her or she?ll hand you your rear.
Bones ? sigh.

 
What a romantic, what a jerk, what a sexy beast ? I could go on and on really. While I think, we all knew he was in love with Cat, he didn?t say the words till this week, but more so that he fell in love with her that night he captured her. Beaten, broken, and chained, Cat still had the balls to challenge him.

 
But on another note, we peeked into his past again. I have a feeling that Bones has never been the evil doer of this world. He seems to always help the weak and meek. Sometimes he kills in the name of justice or revenge, but he?s not a cold blooded killer. Every action, feeling, and thought is calculated, and he doesn?t seem to make mistakes.


 
The same could be same for the way he loves Cat. He takes his time, never rushing her, and backs away when she?s had too much. It kills him that she puts herself of the front lines, but at the same time he respects her enough to not tell her no. Then again, Bones knows Cat would just go behind his back, and she totally would if just out of spite.
Next week we?ll wrap up the book, so I expect a big, BIG discussion

This week, my favorite scene ? it?s tough because there were a lot of awesome moments, but what took the cake was when Bones meets Cat?s neighbor. I can?t stop laughing at the exchange, especially the ?apology? part.



 

 

?Right, then, mate, terribly sorry for my unspeakable rudeness, and I do beg your pardon. I can only say that it was caused by my natural affront to the notion of her as my sister. Since I’ll be shagging her tonight, you can imagine how I’d be distressed at the thought of rogering my sibling”
“You shmuck! The only thing you’ll be shagging tonight is yourself!”
“You wanted sincerity, well, luv, I was sincere.?
