Tim Clapham from Helloluxx updated his GI lighting presets for Cinema 4D this week, if your a big Cinema 4D user and need something to speed up your workflow then go check these out!

Graymachine

I stumbled upon these this week over at Harry Franks Gray Machine, Harry has released some free textures for anybody to use. Definitely worth checking them out!

As per usual Nick Campbell did another excellent tutorial, this weeks was on creating someting similar to NBC’s bumpers for the 2010 winter olympics which you can see an example of over here.

CG Tuts

CG Tuts did a post/tutorial on motion graphics workflow this week, admittedly it’s not going to create something flash and cool at the end of it but workflow is an important part of motion graphics, the quicker we can get something done the more motion graphics we can do!

It’s a bit of a bumper edition in this weeks “This Week in Motion Design”.  We’ve got links this week from Nick Campbell, Brad Chmielewski, some good tutorials from AE Tuts, some nice downloads from Hypoly and a video entitled “Visual Effects – 100 years of inspiration”.

AE Tuts

AE Tuts from Envato have had some great tutorials this week, the first was a vfx based tutorial on making an explosive corridor blast just using still images.

The second is a great motion graphic based tutorial on creating a neon light.

Nick Campbell (aka GreyScale Gorilla)

As per usual, Nick comes up every week with some great tutorials and blog posts each week and this week is no exception!  This week we have the next 5 second project entitled “Self Portrait“.  If you havent heard of the 5 second project before then i suggest you watch the video below:

Brad Chmielewski

Another link from Brad again this week. Have you ever wondered what kind of difference it makes in After Effects if you have Caps Lock on whilst rendering a composition? or wondered if closing the composition window whilst rendering makes a difference?  Well Brad did just that and ran a series of tests to see what difference it would make.  Check out the video below:

Topher Welsh

Topher Welsh is a motion graphics designer and the author of Visual FX Tuts .  He has also written for AE Tuts and Video Hive amongst other sites.

Tim Clapham (aka HelloLuxx)

Tim Clapham is a Cinema 4D User and Trainer.  He runs the Cinema 4D site at HelloLuxx where he regulary writes.  He is also the Author of Making it Look Great 6 and Making it Look Great 7.

It’s been another great week in motion graphics, and we’ve got a round up of some great links from this week. This was a nice little video and effect that i came across on The Motion Exchange.  Robert Leger is the guy who created it and will soon be doing a tutorial and preset for it. Definitely worth keeping and eye on.
