The park was opened in 1995 by a company based in London and has since been through the hands of showman Raymond Codona to its current owner, Henk Bembom’s Parkware Ltd. Bembom took over the park in 2002 and invested £5m during his first year there, followed by an additional £2m in the second. Bembom continued to bring new rides and attractions to the park each year, including another £2m worth of investment in 2007. In winter 2006, Parkware moved all their operations and ride stock to Loudoun from their previous storage buildings in Margate.

In September 2010 it was announced that the park had closed, Bembom stating that it was “no longer economically viable.” There are no clear indications as to the future use of the site, whether the current owners intend to sell the business on as a ‘going concern’ or if they intend to use the site for other purposes.

As of February 2011 a number of rides were for sale, including Twist n’ Shout, Goldrush, Barnstomer, Wacky Worm, Crows Nest, Freefall and Jammy Dodgems.

Having just recently returned from this same area and having experienced a trip whale watching in the Puget Sound, this video is absolutely amazing! What I encountered was nothing less then magical, but this video watching the Orcas swimming at a fast speed truly is spectacular!

My 3.5 month old yorkie, Schrader, shows off his dance moves by doing the Michael Jackson moonwalk! And before you leave a dumb comment… no, he doesn’t have worms and he is not wiping his butt on the floor. He started doing this when I tried to teach him to sit. I thought it was cute, so I associated it with the word moonwalk so he would do it on command. He never really learned how to sit, but the moonwalk is way cooler/cuter in my opinion anyway.

Vampire moth discovered in Siberia

Blood-sucking moth Vampire Moth, never before found, has been discovered in Siberia. Evolution is adapting this creature for survival. Moth will penetrate the skin and insert it’s long proboscis underneath and draw, or suck, out blood. Watching this gave me the heebie-jeebies. Courtesy of National Geographic.

Hung over rock climber gets knee stuck… and poops his pants

I am so LMAO! I am a semi-retired climber myself – but have never experienced or been present for anything like this. Jason Kruk, the climber in this video, is very hung over and working a 5.11 off width crack. When in a knee jam, he manages to get his knee stuck. One of the photographers on a hanging belay lowers down just below the climber to assist – and comes very close to being puked on. But Jason manages to keep his cookies – although in the action of gaggling… his sh*ts his drawers.

Just watch! Trust me… this is a very very rare occurrence, if it has ever happened at all…
