Bajaj Auto Ltd unveiled 200 cc Pulsar DTS-i. The company hopes to sell 50,000 units of Pulsar per month from June, which will be available in 150 cc, 180 cc, 200 cc, and 220 cc engine capacities. In January, Bajaj Auto sold 43,000 units of Pulsar. Bajaj Auto will be unveiling its new platform of motorcycles in July-September this year. The company had last week announced exit from the 100 cc motorcycle segment.

The new Pulsar has many firsts to its credit. It comes equipped with an Oil cooler, which helps control engine oil temperatures at sustained high speeds and rpms, thus ensuring more stable engine oil viscosity. The 200cc DTS-I engine generates 18 Ps of raw pulsating power to provide riding excitement to performance hungry bikers. This makes the Pulsar 200 the most sporty and stylish powerhouse on two wheels to pace the Indian roads.

It’s also the first bike in India to feature both front and rear tubeless tires, which besides offering superior stability are safer than conventional tube types and in sync with the offerings abroad for similar applications. The rear tire is the broadest in its category to ensure better road grip and stability.

The new digital console is an advanced version of the latest Pulsar family. Apart from the Digital Odometer, Digital Speedo Meter, Digital Fuel Gauge and two Digital Trip Meters, the console on the 200 cc Pulsar DTS-I has indicators for Air filter condition, Engine temperature, Battery voltage and Oil level, all of which contribute to enhancing rider info for trouble-free riding.

DTSi - Digital Twin spark ignition: This technology helps the motorcycle a phenomenal performance augmentation and its being introduced for the first time in Bajaj Pulsar. Twin Sparkplugs for better and faster combustion in Bajaj Pulsar: As per convention there is only one spark plug at one end of the combustion chamber. This somewhat results in slow burning of air fuel mixture. 2 spark plugs at the either end of the combustion chamber helps in better and faster combustion Ignition handled by Digital C.D.I: A digital cdi powered by 8 bit microprocessor chip handles the spark delivery thus gives maximum efficiency to the bike. Constant velocity carburetor in Bajaj Pulsar: The CV carburetor provides high level of performance.

Bajaj Pulsar 200cc Test Ride

I took a test ride & I enjoyed the ride. Seating is not cushy but it took the bumps & pot-holes with ease. The foot pegs are not commuter style & I didn’t like it as i ride commuter bike. but to my surprise my posture was upright. It is even balanced but i was not able to do quick turn maybe because the bike is heavy or i didn’t have the confidence on my riding on a new bike. But vroom it & it literally flied over pot-holed road. It loves to be man-handled but note it on a straight road! The mid-range power just surges & makes you want more. But in slow speed she doesn’t responds well.

About oil cooler its utility as i read is to keep the performance at same level at ideal temp. Gear shift is good but not totally devoid of false neutrals albeit less than previous ones. About top speed they say it goes to 120km/hr but i feel it is exaggerated, plz comment on this. I believe it will go to max 115km/hr. About mileage they tell it will give 45 km/. The styling is a bit of this & that i expected at least a modified tank with new styling but what we get is an attached tank attachment. Yes if you see value 4 money it is good. With 124 kph showing on the orange-lit LCD speedometer of the new Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi I’m on, I really should be doing other things. Like figuring out how to get the motorcycle to slow down for the uphill left turn that is coming up quickly.

BANGKOK, Thailand, July 22, 2008– Honda takes the lead in the motorcycle market by introducing CZ-i 110 and Click-i, the two newest models equipped with advanced PGM-FI technology that will lead to a new riding era. The green technology includes 3 key benefits; fuel economy, lower exhaust emissions and better engine performance. Honda also features “Bie-Sukrit Wisetkaew”, a hot singer as its new presenter for Click-i , the first A.T. model with PGM-FI in Thailand. The company targets sales of CZ-i 110 and Click-i to reach 8,000 and 25,000 units per month respectively.

“Starting this year, Honda has set a 3-year goal to be “The No. 1 most admired company that is at the forefront of the environmental issue,” said Zenjiro Sakurai, President for A.P. Honda Co., Ltd.

He continued, “We have announced the basic policy to the world that all the motorcycles produced and sold in Thailand will be equipped with the advanced PGM-FI technology, which helps reduce CO2 emissions that pollute the air, reduce fuel consumption and enhance engine performance. We are the first company within the Honda group to announce this type of environmental policy in Asia and in Thai motorcycle industry.”

With the PGM-FI system, the new Honda motorcycles will have the following attributes; improved fuel economy by 18% (ECE 40 MODE) and ability to use E20 fuel, reduced emissions meeting the Emission Standards at level 6 prior to its official announcement. The emission rate is only 1/5 of the Standards at level 5 and 1/2 at level 6.

PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) is Honda’s patented technology and now in its 3rd generation in the Thai motorcycle market with the first 2 generations of PGM-FI technology applied in the Wave 125i during 2003 and 2005.

In the 3rd generation, PGM-FI is controlled by an electronic control unit called ‘the Engine Control Unit’ (ECU) that works together with other advanced engine technologies such as fuel injection, fuel pump, throttle body featuring Idle Air Control Valve (I.A.C.V.), Offset, Heaterless Oxygen Sensor and honeycomb shaped Catalyzer with over 300 cells.

Honda introduced 2 new motorcycle models equipped with the PGM-FI system; Honda CZ-i 110 and Honda Click-i. Under the concept of “The New Advanced Basic Commuter for the Next Generation”, Honda CZ-i 110 is the best designed vehicle for urban lifestyles that serves target consumers as a ‘New Buddy for the City Life’. CZ-i is outstanding with its cool sporty look and design on the super sport model of “Compressed Triangle” concept. It also includes a Single Head Light, a multi-reflector light that is built into the front body frame, a compact fin-shaped Front Cowling that reduces drag, a compact meter design with complete instrumentation, a sport engine cover and U-Box, a multi-purpose storage box under the seat.

A new stylish rear cowling and foot pegs, a slick black rear grab, oval sport muffler, single-cylinder front disc brakes as well as key shutter, a double layer of protection. After the installation of the PGM-FI system in the CZ-i 4-stroke 110 cc engine, it achieved fuel efficiency of 57 km./liter or a 18% fuel saving over the previous 100 cc model (according to ECE 40 Mode), and 25% better torque.

CZ-i 110 comes in 3 different two-tone styles: White Red Solid, Blue Silver Sapphire and Dark Black Silver. It will be sold from 26 July onwards for 36,700 baht during the promotion and for 38,400 baht at its normal price. Sales are expected to reach 8,000 units per month.

Honda Click-i is Thailand’s first A.T. model that is equipped with PGM-FI technology and a total new look in robotic style reflecting its unique bodywork. It’s even more sharp with a Ray Duo Head Light, Luminous Meter, Jet Tail Light, large Rear Grab, robot-like graphics, U-Box, Front Inner Box and Key Shutter.

Click-i is fully equipped with innovative safety systems such as a Combi Brake that distributes braking power between the front and rear wheels when only the left brake lever is activated, Parking Brake that works the same way as a car’s hand brake preventing the motorcycle from moving even when parked on a slope, Side Stand Switch that causes the engine to shut down as soon as the side stand is lowered to prevent hazards caused by forgetting to pull up the side stand before starting the bike. Additionally, it is a 4-stroke 110 cc engine with built-in liquid cooling which also includes V-Matic Transmission using a long-lasting reinforced steel belt.

According to ECE 40 Mode riding tests, it achieves fuel efficiency of 49 km./liter or 16% fuel saving over the previous Click, and 80% lower emissions compared to Emission Standard at level 5.

To reflect its modern and cool image, Honda has chosen Bie-Sukrit Wisetkaew, a famous singer-artist, as the new presenter of the Click-i which comes in 2 different series; Click-i Tune-up and Click-i Forward. The first version has a normal wheel type, and comes in 4 colors; Black Mobile Suit, Green Black Kryptonite, Blue Black Atomic, and White Black Space, while the other version has max wheels and the Combi Brake system, and comes in 3 colors; Night Black Armour, White Black Galaxy, and Red Black Destiny.

They will be sold from August 6, 2008 onwards. The Click-i Tune-up is 45,700 baht during the promotion and 47,400 baht at its normal price. The Click-i Forward is 49,300 baht during the promotion and 51,000 baht at its normal price. Sales are expected to reach 25,000 units per month.

“In order to demonstrate the outstanding quality of PGM-FI technology, we are offering users a 5 year or 50,000 km warranty on the PGM-FI system which includes fuel injection, accelerating pump, Engine Control Unit (ECU), throttle body, throttle position sensor, temperature of the fuel vapor sensor and O2 sensor. Together, we have also trained over 1,428 Honda service centers and 5,919 repair & maintenance centers nationwide on PGM-FI Technology,” Zenjiro Sakurai concluded.

The Amazing One!!!

The designer of Yamaha’s GTS1000 has turned his hand to superbikes by creating this awesome hub-centre-steered version of Suzuki’s GSX-R1000.

James Parker has spent decades working on alternative front suspension systems, and his designs have led to the only mass-produced hub-centre-steered machine ever offered in the form of the Yamaha GTS1000.

And now he hopes his latest version will also reach limited production, as he’s hoping to offer a limited number of these Suzuki GSX-R1000-based machines during 2008.

At around £25,000, it’s not cheap, but test riders report improved braking and handling thanks to his front suspension, as well as a weight saving compared the conventional GSX-R1000.

I've heard HOnDa would be The Next Chalange for Yamaha in Indonesia. Because Honda'll release the new motorcycles, and its all could be the next market target in indonesia. All The Motorcycles i've told is:

1. Honda NEW Sonic 125
since five years ago this machine is the best honda sport machine with 125cc engine capacity and special with radiator coolant make perfect this ride. Also, new performance and skin make this ride proudly present by honda.

2. Honda NEW CBR 125R
This machine is almost same with SONIC 125 but this version look like sport GP motorcycle with fairing, not much diffrent with Honda CBR 150R but i think its fairing inspiration took from aprilia 125, but we'll let see...

3. 135cc Honda NEW Machine
I dont want too much comment for this because its just a prototype that i never seen

so, till this day i never heard about it again...

Make your ride safety ...

Here is a checklist that every motorcycle rider should follow:

* Always wear a helmet with a face shield or protective eyewear — Wearing a helmet is the best way to protect against severe head injuries. A motorcycle rider not wearing a helmet is five times more likely to sustain a critical head injury.

* Wear appropriate gear — Make sure to wear protective gear and clothing that will minimize the amount of injuries in case of an accident or a skid. Wearing leather clothing, boots with nonskid soles, and gloves can protect your body from severe injuries. Consider attaching reflective tape to your clothing to make it easier for other drivers to see you.

* Follow traffic rules — Obey the speed limit; the faster you go the longer it will take you to stop. Be aware of local traffic laws and rules of the road.

* Ride defensively — Don’t assume that a driver can see you, as nearly two-thirds of all motorcycle accidents are caused by a driver violating a rider’s right of way. You should always ride with your headlights on; stay out of a driver’s blind spot; signal well in advance of any change in direction; and watch for turning vehicles.

* Keep your riding skills honed through education — Complete a formal riding education program, get licensed and take riding courses from time to time to develop riding techniques and to sharpen your street-riding strategies.

* Be awake and ride sober — Don’t drink and ride, you could cause harm to yourself and others. Additionally, fatigue and drowsiness can impair your ability to react, so make sure that you are well rested when you hit the road.

HARLEY STILL LOOKING GOOD AFTER A HUNDRED YEAR

At this point in Harley's history they must start to feel like there's nothing new under the sun. It can't be easy after 105 years. Whether you're a Harley fan or not, one thing you can't do is underestimate a company that's been around that long.

Speaking of comfort, Harley's has a winner with the cushy, sculpted saddle on this newest Dyna.

Just looking at spec sheet numbers and a list of components one could probably draw some safe conclusions about how the Fat Bob will make power and handle. Especially considering it shares so much of its core with the other Dynas. Where it does seek to set itself apart, quite naturally, is in the look and feel department. This fat Dyna makes a distinct departure from traditional styling by employing the previously mentioned 16-inch front tire and a rather unique headlight duo. Pairing two small headlamps mounted next to one another the design draws obvious parallels to a certain British bike maker; commentary amongst journos in the tech briefing echoed as much.

Another notable element of design and function are the drag-style bars with a mild V bend. These aggressive handlebars are joined to the top triple-clamp via its integrated riser. It creates a tough look, but not so tough that you can't enjoy the benefits of the rubber-mount. The bars grant good leverage for steering and do a good job of creating the rider triangle.

What's New With Rest of '08:

Because Harley is rightly proud of being around for 105 years, it hasn’t limited special models just to the pricier CVOs. Fourteen OEM models will be available with the special edition Anniversary Copper and Vivid Black paint (different from the CVO Anniversary edition), air cleaner and timing cover inserts, copper inserts on the saddle and pillions, gloss black cast wheels, a special fuel tank cloisonné and serialization to top it off.

The VRSC line has never dominated sales at Harley, but they're not giving up on it yet. This year only three models make up the team: The V-Rod, Night Rod and Night Rod Special.

Some rather disappointing news was delivered at the '08 intro. It seems that once again American riders just don't get it. The highly anticipated street-tracker-styled XR1200 unveiled at Intermot in October '06 won't be coming to U.S. shores anytime soon. Saying that "U.S. demand for the XR1200 will be monitored," Harley will be launching it in Europe for 2008.

Woww.. thats a real amazing with large range about one hundreds and fifty. The builder are from jakarta who joined Classic Chopper Custom. His name is 'Ipul' live in jakarta.
The builder has chose 21" wheel, because this is a hardworker motorcycle so he felt strange if he don't change another parts. He change the boring and Piston for increase the horse power.
He said"short wheelbase can broken the parts of my body" so he made the reconstruction rear cashing the forty five or H-D 750cc.
