And by the way, watch out for scammers out there! I know, they are everywhere online (and seem to be multiplying). There are a few online sellers that are using the same or similar product pictures as Pivotal Powersports (they obviously stole the pics from Pivotal's listings) and selling LED lighting kits with them.

I ordered a kit for my buddy's bike off eBay. thinking it was from Pivotal Powersports eBay store. I was wrong. It was some Joe Blow jerk on there that apparently copied the listing from Pivotal and was using it to sell his garbage lights with it. It looked liked the same LED kit that I had ordered from Pivotal in the past, but it was a little cheaper priced, I didn't think much of it until I got the package.

First off, it took almost two weeks to even get the lights. Then when I opened them up to inspect them, three of the ten lights were damaged. The cases that the LED lights are housed in were split and exposing the wires. Two of the other ten lights didn't even turn on. So I was left with 5 semi-usable lights total, and those were a joke.

Needless to say, I was mad. I called up Pivotal Powersports (thinking that's who I bought the lights from) and asked them what was going on. They tried to pull up my order, but obviously couldn't find it. That's when they told me that they have had a lot of similar complaints lately, and that there was bogus sellers online selling inferior LED lighting kits using their product images. I looked at my Paypal account, and realized that I didn't buy the lights from Pivotal Powersports, and that I had been taken by one of these bogus sellers.

I tried to contact the seller I got the lights from to return the LED's, but I never heard back. I called their phone number listed on their website. Again, no response. Finally after a month had passed, I filed a claim with Paypal and got the money credited back to my account. What a headache!

Just be careful out there when buying anything online, there are so many people ready to rip you off. You get what you pay for and it normally costs you more money and time down the road. This is why I only deal with a few reputable companies online (like Pivotal Powersports), I never have to worry about a quality product or great customer service.

The good news is I ordered a new LED lighting kit from Pivotal Powersports and I am installing them on my buddy's bike within a week. I be posting pics of that installation soon... stay tuned!

Another winning LED Lighitng Kit!

So, my son asked me to install some LED lights on his 2007 Honda 1000rr sport bike. I liked the idea of adding a LED lighting kit to his bike to make him more visible at night. We live in Florida, and there are a lot of older people and drunk drivers here that just don't see bikes well at night.

I went to www.pivotalstore.com and ordered their Black LED Lighting Kit with the Multi-Function remote control kit. I acted like I forgot all about him asking me about the kit. He went out of town for the weekend with his girlfriend, and I proceeded to install the kit as an early birthday present (and to make him safer at night). I have to say, I was amazed at the results!

This is the Pivotal Powersports red LED lighting kit I installed on my sons bike. Unbelievable!

Needless to say, when he returned home and saw the bike all lit up, he was speachless! He was exhausted from the long weekend, but still insisted that he take the bike out for a night ride. I think the next bike I buy, I'm going to use the red LED kit. It is unreal!

I loved this look, and had seen it before on different sport bikes, but never really appreciated the LED lighting kits until I saw them on few cruisers, illuminating the engines and chrome. I thought it would really help to make the chrome on my Suzuki Boulevard stand out, so, I started shopping around, unfortunately, I would soon realize that not all LED lighting kits were created equal...

I had already owned a set from Electropods on my sport bike, and was less than happy with the quality and light output in general, so I ruled that kit right out. After browsing the Internet for a few hours, I stumbled upon a LED lighting kit made by Kuryakyn. They were called Lizard lights. They looked nice, but were extremely expensive. I was really only wanting to have one color for my bike (blue), and I wasn't interested in the other 6 colors the kit offered as it was a multi colored (7 colors) kit, but, I decided to give it a try.

Again, my expectations were not met. You would think after spending over $600.00 on these Lizard lights that they would make the bike explode with light and really set it off nice, but, to my dismay, that was not the case.

After doing a little research, I learned because it was a multi-color kit, the manufacturers of this light kit (and any other multi-color kit for that matter) have to make the actual LED lights within each pod or tube smaller to accommodate more LED lights for each color, so the overall light output is greatly reduced verses a single color LED lighting kit which uses bigger LED bulbs. I was determined to find a great LED kit for my motorcycle.

A few weeks went by. Then, I was checking out eBay one day, looking for different accessories to fit my Boulevard, and a listing in particular happened to catch my eye. It was a single LED lighting kit. It had a great price ($99.95) which included free shipping and an installation kit. You could order the kit in one of eight different LED colors, blue, red, green, yellow, orange, purple, pink, and white, (I opted for the blue). Each kit includes 10 pods with 3 LED lights in each pod that shine in different directions, which gives you 180 degrees of light from each LED pod. I liked the price and the free included accessories and free shipping made it a no brainer. So, I ordered this LED lighting kit from a company called Pivotal Powersports.

Well, it took a lot of time, money, and a few different motorcycles... but, I had finally found it! I removed my Lizard lights and installed the kit I got from Pivotal Powersports. While the installation was a little trickier verses the Kuryakyn lights, the end result of the Pivotal Powersports lights was tenfold better! These lights rock! They completely encompassed all the exposed chrome, were much easier to hide, and was without a doubt, the brightest kit that I have come across.

The guys at Pivotal Powersports asked my to use this pic I took, and I proudly accepted. Here's why...

The staff at Pivotal Powersports were friendly and helpful when I had a few additional questions and had to order two more LED light pods to illuminate my windshield. As you can plainly see, not all LED lighting kits are created equal! If you are looking for the best LED lighting kit for motorcycles, I strongly suggest you check out Pivotal Powersports website.
