Much of the motorcycle paraphernalia found on the motorcycle clothing market today is made with the primary end goal of looks in mind. While there is nothing wrong with wearing motorcycle gloves and other motorcycle clothing that has a stylish appearance, the final goal of all motorcycle clothing that is chosen and purchased should be to protect the wearer. If a person falls or is knocked form his or her motorcycle while riding down the street at fifty to sixty miles per hour, then the individual will not care much how good the motorcycle gloves and clothing looked from the top of the bike.

The United States motorcycle clothing and motorcycle gloves markets are at a severe and unfortunate disadvantage with regards to safety issues. No single regulatory body presides over these protective clothing manufacturers as is routinely the case in Europe. especially approved Body Armour.

Although many individuals are not aware of this, the lower half of a person's body is what is most commonly injured in a motorcycle accident. Because this proves to be the case, motorcyclists should ensure that they purchase protective pants that are made from high quality genuine leather. It is similarly important to obtain pants that contain added reinforcement to the hip and knee areas. They should also come with the possibility of connecting them to the riders' jacket. This only increases the safety and protection of the mutually reinforcing pants and jacket. The motorcycle boots ought to be designed using flexible and thick leather, while the boots' soles need to be made from a material which is resistant to both oils and other kinds of petroleum products.

Motorcycle jackets also require some care in selection. A great number of such jackets offered for sale these days are simply made for their stylish appearance. These types of motorcycle jackets commonly employ a too thin leather that is not at all useful for protecting a rider's chest and arms. Every potential point of contact, including elbows and shoulders, must be reinforced and feature additional padding against a possible impact.

Motorcycle gloves are also important for protecting the hands. A protective and effective pair of leather gloves is absolutely required in order to stop the riders from tearing up their hands' palms in only a minor type of accident. Human nature is to put the hands out in order to stop oneself from hurting the rest of the body when a person is thrown to the ground or falls from anything. People who picked out thin gloves, only intended for looks, have worn life time severe scars on their hands as a result of minor accidents.

Leather remains the most commonly picked out material by serious motorcyclists for motorcycle clothing. These days, other synthetic fabrics that offer substantial protection in an accident exist and are offered on the market.

When motorcyclists go shopping for their motorcycle gloves and other motorcycle clothing next time, hopefully they will take heed to this critically important early warning. Safety should always come first, especially where motorcycles and their clothing gear are concerned. While everyone enjoys looking attractive and stylish, few people prefer to do it from the bed of a hospital.

f you want to customize the look of your bike, there are many products you can use to make it unique. Just because you bought a stock motorcycle doesn't mean that, with a little work, it can't be a one-and-only creation with a distinctive look all its own.

Customizing the look of your bike is great but before we even get to that, make sure you have the proper safety equipment. If you have not yet gotten a quality helmet that meets all quality standards, do that first. What's the use of having a great looking ride if you're risking brain damage with even the tiniest mistake every time you hop on? Make the dome cover part of your look. Designs and colors are available, head transplants are not.

The optional safety items like leathers, gloves, pads, etc. might also be on your list of things to buy. If so, good for you, but they are considered more optional. Some of these products do add to the comfort of your ride. If you wear something less cover-all than a full face helmet, goggles or good sunglasses may be in order. A cozy riding jacket is also a smart idea, especially in colder weather.

The further you plan to go on your new bike, the more essential it is you have some way of carrying your stuff with you. This is especially true if you plan on road trip vacationing with your bike. Saddle bags, add-on storage compartments or a backpack of some sort at the least will be needed. I personally prefer storage compartments but many people prefer one of the non-permanent storage options.

Comfort is a major consideration when it comes to riding. Does the stock seat work for you? Many people find that this is not the case, especially for longer rides. If this is true for you, you might want try out a custom seat. If you always ride solo, you'll want one kind of custom. If you often have a passenger onboard, another may better fit the bill. You might also want to consider a sissy bar and extra pegs so your passenger is more comfortable as well.

When it comes to the pure looks department, there are so many items to choose from that the choice gets difficult. Are racing stripes or flames your thing? Maybe a custom airbrushed tank would look nice on your bike. You can also just shop for nice looking stick-on decals. They make some incredible designs and they're easy to work with. Maybe new custom pipes is the look you want. All of these options contribute to a great look.

If you do want to customize the look of your bike, don't rush the process. Especially if you don't have a rock solid plan about what you want to do, looking at the wide variety of options is advisable. Also, before automatically buying the cheapest accessory whether it's grips, chrome pipes or a custom seat, do some research. A custom look is great, but make sure you are getting quality parts.

As far as finding the right parts goes, my preference is to shop both online and at local stores. Get ideas and compare. Once you're pretty set on what you want, look online specifically for the best price from a high-rated seller with good customer support. Places like Amazon are great because there are plenty of customer reviews which tell the story.

A motorcycle can be a fun vehicle to ride. Feeling the wind whip across your body while riding down the highway can make you feel like you're almost flying. And the feeling of exhilaration to the fact that motorcycles don't eat as much gas as a regular car does, and you have the ideal riding experience.

But it can be pretty easy to forget how hot summer can become. And wearing leather from head to toe is by no means a cool way of dressing; at least not when it comes to temperature. Cars and trucks have air conditioning and don't require you to wear any safety equipment. Motorcycle riders are subjected to the heat and generally suffer if the proper precautions are not taken.

One of the more common problems is heat exhaustion. Writing in the hot weather can cause of either to suffer headaches, cramps, fatigue, and dizziness. They may even feel like throwing up. If all of these symptoms are present, a motorcycle rider may be suffering from heat exhaustion.

Anyone who feels this bad should not be on the road. Find some shade, find a building with air conditioning, or drink some cold water. Excess sweating can cause dehydration. If this is the issue, you can try drinking some Gatorade or mixing salt with your water.

Heatstroke is another more serious complication that can arise from becoming too hot. Sweating too much isn't good, but if you completely stop sweating and start losing control of your cognitive functions, get off the road! Find someplace cool and get there soon as possible!

Splashing itself with cool water and applying ice packs to your body can help lower your body temperature, which is your first concern if you're suffering from heatstroke. Don't take any stimulants, such as coffee or any other caffeine saturated beverage; you don't want to overtax your heart.

If a motorcycle rider ever suffers from any of these complications, they should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

According to the Hurt Study, in the single vehicle accidents, motorcycle rider errors were present as the accident precipitating factor in about two-thirds of the cases, with the typical error being a slide out and fall due to over braking or running wide on a curve due to excess speed or under-cornering. If you are not able to upgrade your motorcycle parts you should know some simple information in order to act as a guideline as stated below.

Riders must remember that braking is one of the most important actions that they must perform. Braking makes it so you can quickly slow down and come to a complete stop avoiding obstacles.

Most riders do not fully understand the distance that is required to bring the bike to a full stop. Braking distance increases with speed, and unfortunately the increase is not linear.

If a bike that is doing 30 MPH can stop in 33 feet doesn’t means that if the same bike is doing 60 MPH would be able to stop in 66 feet, it actually will take 134 feet! The increase in braking distance is the square of the speed increase.*

Any reduction in the speed you are traveling will decrease enormously your braking distance. Motovike.com provides us with the following chart. Refer to it for a clear idea of braking distances, but be aware that this chart doesn’t include your perception/reaction time (which will increase your braking distance considerably).

Use of the front and back brakes can be the difference between living and dying in close situations. In normal situations, braking is fairly typical and made with ease. Unless you’re riding on a slippery surface, in which case you should use both brakes to slow your motorcycle.

Be aware that the front brake provides 70 to 100 percent of the stopping power of a motorcycle. With that in mind, you want to practice using more front break than rear. An ideal situation is to have a balance between the front and rear brakes, with about 70% of the emphasis on the front.

We suggest that you always consult your Motorcycle Manual in order to make sure that your bike is running in its optimal condition and you are maintaining parts that may need maintenance in order to operate under optimal conditions.

You may also consider using a red light changer to change the lights so that you do not need to stop at all. This obviously is not a way to avoid knowing your braking guidelines but is at least a useful idea to consider in order to save your brakes longer to replace them less often and cause less maintenance time on your bike.

Motorcycles make for a convenient mode of transportation for people who want to arrive to their destination faster. More than anything else, to drive motorbikes instead of cars is just a matter of preference. There are some cases where it would be more convenient to drive a motorcycle rather than cars especially in cases where you are going to a destination where there is limited parking space. When motorcycle parts need to be replaced, it is very easy to find and buy replacement motorcycle parts online at reasonable cost.

One of the major issues with traveling in motorbikes is the overall safety, although this is not to say that there are no risks or dangers in driving with cars. Motorcycle enthusiasts believe that it is all up to the riders to make themselves less susceptible to risks or dangers. First of all, part of ensuring that they would do well driving with their motorcycles in the roads is to regularly check on their motorcycle parts to make sure that everything’s doing well before heading out to the busy road. Never drive with some parts still needing repair or replacement.

Other things that should not be compromised are the quality of the motorcycle’s headlights. Some people would find it very convenient to buy halogen headlamps in stores that sell motorcycle parts online. It won’t take them long enough to find what they need especially if they have all the information about the prices and product information.

Others would also find more comfort and convenience when they would upgrade their motorcycle seats to leather motorcycle seats. On the other hand, there are also others which are fascinated with vintage motorcycle seats. It’s definitely important to have a vehicle that’s really designed for your riding pleasure and convenience.

No matter how good you are as a driver, if your vehicle is not in good condition, you would still find yourself prone to danger or accidents. This is why drivers are recommended to a reliable motorcycle insurance so that when accidents happen, damages can be recovered.

Bike oil is necessary to help with making the engine perform efficiently. Learning the needs of how much oil to utilize and tips for checking out the engine oil can provide the necessary tips to enjoying a longer lasting motorbike motor.

It may seem Oil is Oil, your absolutely wrong. The oil may be generated by the soil, nonetheless today’s oils are built with artificial additives to handle distinct working factors. Motorcycle oil happen to be ranked for how they hold tension throughout the motorcycles crank, lubricate pistons skirts, distribute heat along with resist rust. It is not like automobile motor oil that will also lubricate the tranny and clutch.

Typically the rotating motion of the tranny parts will actually break the motorcycles oil elements apart unless extreme pressure ingredients are also utilized. Hypoid additives may allow better gear switching and decrease engine oil break down.

Oil thickness in the fluid can be calculated in a SAE score. Typically the lower the number the lighter it can be and also the quicker it moves. When engine oil becomes heated it equally passes a lot quicker. For you to compensate for light oils, you may blend an additive. Which means cold oil generally flows like a twenty grade, though with a high temp it comes just like a fuller fifty graded oil.

Follow this help for looking at the oil:

-If the oil is low, simply add 3 or 4 ounces in at any given time.

-Very low oil can cause engine damage if the oil pump doesn’t have adequate speed.

-High amounts of engine oil leads to additional crankcase stress and might send motor oil in the air filter or carb which induces oil leakages.

-Look at the oil with the motorcycle on a center stand or keep it up-right, so that it is level.

For a lot more great hints and suggestions visit the Motorcycle Store Online. Just remember, that motorcycle motor oils provide consistent lubrication in comparison with car motor oils. Your engine is going to be generally less noisy, shift better, and parts such as clutch and alternators, that are lubed and cooled off by oil, can last much longer. Continue a routine, so your motorcycles oil maintenance are continuous. Committing to a schedule is convenient and is just about the simplest strategy to help make sure the motorbike is constantly performing economically.

Let me start by telling you a little about myself and how I got into DOT Motorcycle Helmets. For the past five seasons I have been riding a motorcycle. I have a passion for riding and would like to ride for the rest of my life…in order to do so, I want to be as safe and protected as I can…while still being able to enjoy the ride.

So five years ago…before even purchasing my first street motorcycle at the age of 34…I bought a full set of gear. Now I'm not talking about just a helmet and gloves. I'm talking about the helmet, the gloves, the jacket, the pants and the boots. I felt like Evel Knievel walking around the house for about two weeks before even getting my motorcycle home…of course I had to break the gear in…what better way than wearing it?

Why did I purchase all this "stuff" before even having my ride? Because I knew when I did buy my bike, I would be so excited that I would just want to jump on that thing and run it 'till it was out of gas and not even THINK about motorcycle gear. So I chose the cautious route and bought gear that I knew would keep me safe…call it skin insurance if you will.

One of the main pieces of gear that I looked at, was the motorcycle helmet. I mean, up until this point in life I didn't know anything about helmets other than they go on your head…so I started doing some research. And that is what brings me here…so that I can share some of the information I've gathered over the years to help you in your gear purchase experience.

So, here are some basics of the DOT motorcycle helmet…

First, what is this DOT mean?

DOT stands for the department of transportation and is part of a certification process that is used on all motorcycle helmets. This is to ensure the helmet meets minimum safety requirements and can be certified for use on the roads.

Why is this certification important?

If you buy a helmet that does not have the DOT certification…it means you are buying something that doesn't even meet the minimum standard of safety requirements. It means a DOT motorcycle helmet will give you a better chance of walking away from an accident than not wearing a DOT certified helmet.

Types of DOT motorcycle helmets…

There are a number of types of motorcycle helmets…some offer more protection than others…while others offer more ventilation than others. The main types of helmets are German motorcycle helmets, 3/4 face motorcycle helmets, full face motorcycle helmets and modular motorcycle helmets.

German motorcycle helmets — the German style of motorcycle helmet came into being during World War II, where the German army officers that rode motorcycles wore helmets. The modern version of this helmet is now called a half helmet, beanie or shorty helmet today. It covers just above your eye brows in the front, to the center of the back of your head. They have a meaner look to them as they expose more of a person's head and face. You will see this style of helmet on a lot of chopper or cruiser bike riders.

Full Face motorcycle helmets — this style of helmet is the extreme opposite of the German helmet in that it covers from the bottom of the chin in front, to the base of the skull in the back. There is a visor that can flip open in the front allowing ventilation, as well as vents in the front, sides and top of the helmet. A full face motorcycle helmet is the only style of helmet that can qualify for the Snell Memorial Foundations certification, as Snell measures the safety of the chin and mouth protection in addition to the rest of the helmet. Snell certification has a higher safety level than the DOT certification, as Snell certification looks at the helmets for use in racing. Full face helmets will then provide full head protection, excluding the neck of the rider. This style of helmet will most often be found on sport or semi-sport bike riders.

3/4 Face Motorcycle Helmets — this style of helmet is similar to the full face helmet, with the exception of the chin and mouth protection, where it is open in front. This allows more protection than the German helmet as well as more ventilation then the full face helmet. This helmet can sometimes be fitted with a flip up shield allowing more wind protection or have a replaceable visor which can shield your eyes from the sun. This style of helmet is typically worn by touring bike riders.

Modular Motorcycle Helmets — this style of helmet has in recent years been taking to the scene, as it is a mix of the 3/4 face helmet and the full face helmet. On this helmet, the chin and mouth protection can be flipped up at the push of a button allowing additional ventilation to very quickly enter the helmet. However, with the chin and mouth protection in the open, it is not advisable to ride with the helmet in this position as it will cause significant wind buffeting and could potentially damage the helmet. In light of this, Shark has come out with the Evoline modular motorcycle helmet, where the chin and mouth protection can be flipped all the way to the back of the helmet…allowing the helmet to be almost fully 3/4 and full faced at the flip of a button. This style of helmet is typically worn by the touring or semi-sport bike riders…but is gaining popularity across all styles of riders.

So there you have it…these are some of the basics of DOT motorcycle helmets. When you are deciding on which type of helmet to choose, take into consideration the style of bike that you ride and the average temperature that you are riding in. Taking both into consideration should guide you to the best choice of helmet for your given purpose and needs. Safe and happy riding!

He wants to keep riding so he almost always wears his DOT motorcycle helmet…be it a full face, 3/4 face or beanie style helmet.

Keeping your motorcycle in good working condition is an aspect of responsible motorcycle ownership. You could do the maintenance work yourself, but there’s no way you can forego the services provided by a motorcycle repair shop in Riverside, CA.

It will always be essential to seek out the motorcycle repair service specifically on major repairs to get your motorcycle back on track. This choice is about as important or perhaps a lot more important than your actual purchase of that motorcycle.

You would want to have repair service only from the professionals as they possess the specialized tools and equipments to get the job done. It may seem that the tools you have in your garage can perform the required fixes, the fact remains, it can only bring damage and harm to your vehicle. Buying these tools for your own use may be too huge on your budget being an ordinary person. So, it would be better to leave the idea behind.

Now, exactly what should you look for in a great motorcycle repair shop? Well, once you ask questions they will know and inform you the answers promptly. They have a very busy atmosphere in their shop and all those consumers waiting for their turns are pleased and satisfied for the services they generally get rather than whining about the queuing or the lack of parts inventory.

Nevertheless, do not assume that when some client is upset in the lobby or hanging out in the show room in pissed off, it doesn’t suggest they’re mad at the service. Learn to understand that there are difficult to deal with customers. So, the best you can do while on the shop is to inquire further if the service is bad or good and just what’s wrong. If you get lots of terrible stories of service, then leave and never come back. If however they have complimented well on the services, then you have found a great motorcycle shop to stay with. Additionally, ensure that the motorcycle repair center you will look at has technicians highly trained to do the job and possess some type of certification. This way there is no doubt that the assigned mechanic fixing your bike knows exactly what they are doing.

Once you find a topnotch and trustworthy motorcycle service shop, expect your motorcycle to get fixed in a reasonable period of time. Since the mechanics they have there are trained then there won’t be any need for you to wait for days or even weeks to get it running once more.

Now, except if you’re a auto technician yourself, you’re better off taking your motorcycles to Garage 33, the premier motorcycle repair shop in Riverside, CA the moment it stops working. Of course, you’ll have to pay out a sum of money, but the prize is much greater as you can have it fixed without having further complications.

Most of us have ridden on a motorcycle at 1 time or one more. The idea for their design came from the development of the bicycle. I guess folks were definitely searching for a more quickly way to move their bicycle along, or perhaps just one that wasn’t as physically exerting for them. The initial motorcycle each and every made is credited to Gottllieb Daimler in 1885. This gas powered motorbike was basically a gas engine attached to a standard bicycle. Nonetheless, Gottllieb decided not to pursue making motorbikes and select instead to focus on manufacturing cars.

During this time period, several other individuals ended up also tinkering using the motorcycle concept. A couple in the men behind this experimenting were definitely William Harley and Arthur Davidson. You guessed it, the dynamic duo behind the amazing line of Harley-Davidson bikes that have become popular all around the world considering that 1903.

Individuals ended up really interested in this convenient mode of transportation because it was quite economical. The public loved the idea of motorized transportation, but cars have been still more high priced than most men and women could afford. However, some folks soon realized that they would need to purchase a car rather than a motorbike to be able to transport their entire family.

A couple of of these motorcycle pioneers had been capable to successfully establish corporations for example Harley-Davidson. However, several never had the money to start off the venture correctly and make it prosperous. Others left to go fight within the war and still other people went bankrupt trying to industry their motorcycle ideas in the course of the Depression.

Just one downfall to bikes in the 1950’s is that you had to have a great understanding of mechanics being able to operate a single. The American bike makers didn’t pursue creating advances in that department until they started facing competition from Japan. They developed the electric start off system that bikes provide currently. This significant feature allowed bikes to transform from small mopeds and scooters to powerful machines.

American motorbike producers did not see Japanese bikes as a threat, but this was as serious miscalculation on their part. It didn’t take long for American companies to realize that they have been losing buyers for the Japanese market place. This lead towards the introduction of numerous new designs to prevent them from losing a lot more on the industry. Baby boomers continued to buy Japanese bikes as they offered a lot more energy and had been sold at an superb price.

Motorcycles have certainly changes because their introduction. Today, the current market is saturated with brand names which are well known inside motorcycle business. Each 1 offers a variety of versions to decide on from too as unique styles and designs. Regardless with the kind of motorbike you happen to be interested in, you happen to be sure to find just one with the features and power that you are seeking.

As the top motorbike companies continue to strive to come up with versions which will please the consumer even though out shining their competitors, you’ll have even more choices. As technology advances you can discover more quickly, more durable, and less high-priced motorbike choices on the current market. Harley-Davidson continues being from the top position, selling additional motorbikes than any other manufacturer. Actually, the majority of their bikes are sold prior to they even leave the factory. Even though they remain one with the most costly motorbike producers, buyers are willing to pay for the good quality and also the energy behind them.

When it comes to the motorbike business, people have come to learn that excellent and reliability are more critical than saving a few dollars along the way. A motorbike is usually a large investment, and customers want being happy with the product they decide on. The issue of brand name loyalty also comes into play with motorbikes. Because each and every manufacturer now offers a full line of several versions and kinds of bikes, there’s no reason why you can’t obtain both the brand along with the style that you are searching for.
