We cannot have a good quality life without many of the major home appliances for today. We are taking many of these appliances for granted, but we were definitely having alternates before having those high-end george foreman grill or Nespresso machines at home. It is true that many of these equipment are quite productive and helps us a lot, but it also consumes considerable energy. If we evaluate our energy cost on yearly basis with and without these appliances then the different could be considerable.

The rule is simple here, more the temperature, more will be the consumption of energy. Only increase the temperature when it is needed, not always. Prefer cooler cycle of washing machine as much as possible. It is also suggested to go with a full machine load rather than having multiple cycles with lesser load. For fridge, the usual temperature is between 3 to 5 degrees and for the freezer, it is in the -15 to – 20 range. Therefore, make the necessary adjustments if it is not in the range.
Make sure that you switch off all your electrical appliances at night. Some of the appliances such as TV or laptop may consume energy on standby mode. However, this is not needed for our regular blender or juicer in the kitchen. The computer comes with their energy or power saving mode. So, that option should be maximized.
When it comes to energy saving ideas then it is more about your regular everyday appliances actually. This includes washing machine, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, clothes iron, electric heater, air-conditioner and TVs etc. Therefore, consider energy saving upon these items. The once in a while appliances such as an ice cream maker wouldn’t make a huge difference.
