Aprilia also brought the Tuono V4 R supersports bike to the EICMA Show. The new bike features a new exhaust system with bypass valve, which is two kilos lighter than the system used on the RSV4 R and is powered by a V4 65° engine framed by the brushed aluminum elements.

One special feature of the new Tuono V4 R is the APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) joystick, the second generation electronic dynamics control package developed by Aprilia to get as close as possible to the physical limits of riding. APRC is based on an automotive inertia sensor platform, with two gyrometers and two accelerometers allowing the ECU to determine the dynamic state of the motorcycle and control engine torque accordingly to help the rider exploit the full performance potential of the bike in all conditions.

The APRC package includes ATC traction control (Aprilia Traction Control), with eight selectable levels, which controls sliding when accelerating out of a curve in relation to bank angle and throttle aperture, AWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control), which helps the rider control extreme wheelying by gradually bringing the front wheel back to the ground, and AQS (Aprilia Quick Shift), which allows instantaneous upshifts without closing the throttle or using the clutch. Completing the suite of four functions is the most exhilarating of all: ALC (Aprilia Launch Control).

Adding yet another touch of aggressiveness is the aerodynamic new top fairing tipped with two polyelliptical headlights at the sharp end, which gives the bike the unequivocally mean, daunting stare that you’d expect from a machine with an incredible 162 horsepower.

Tuono V4R boasts power never before installed on a naked, obtained by reconfiguring the RSV4 Factory APRC SE four V cylinder.

The Tuono V4R inherits features from the Special Edition including the new exhaust system with bypass valve, which is two kilos lighter than the system used on the RSV4 R, and latest generation Ride by Wire throttle control.

Differences from its race track sibling are closer spacing between the three first gear ratios a maximum torque of 110 Nm on tap 1000 rpm lower.

The Tuono V4R maintains the family feeling with the WSBK double title champion’s tail fairing, saddle, tank and side panels, one of the best examples of made in Italy motorcycle design in the last decade for its formal beauty and functionality ratio. The racer, because that is what anyone who approaches a fireball like this one should be called, will be taming this beast from a riding position tailored to create a symbiotic relationship between the body and the bike, for unparalleled feedback through the three points of contact - the saddle, footpegs and handlebars.

The bike will be called the W800 and feature a largely similar chassis, but feature a disc brake at the rear and power hiked to match Triumph’s own modern-day Bonneville, at around 60bhp.Kawasaki is about to reveal a bigger replacement for the defunct W650 Triumph Bonneville replica, confirming internet speculation.

Kawasaki’s original W650 was popular with customisers, especially in Japan, but it was always hampered by its authentically flat 49bhp parallel twin motor.

The CR&S (Cafe Racing and Sport) DUU motorbike has recently made its debut, revealing a fully customizable machine that combines American muscle with European style. The DUU will be handcrafted, therefore available in a limited run, starting early 2011, and priced from EUR19,000 (approx. $25,900).

The DUU is powered by a 1,916cc X-Wedge engine developing over 95 horsepower and 140 Nm (103.3 lb.ft.) of torque from 2.500 to 4.700 rpm. The engine includes two pushrod head valves per cylinder with hydraulic self adjustment, and three belt driven camshafts (one intake and two exhaust).

The structural components are made in carbon, while the rest are made in VTR, ABS or carbon. The gas tank is divided in two parts: the chassis’ backbone and the seat holder box structure. In addition to this, each new option introduced will be 100% retrofittable on each DUU.

The options list includes a lot of high quality hand-made components, such as the front light, the fake gas tank with storage function, GPS holder and folding windshield (CR&S patent), the passenger comfort seat, the folding passenger back seat, the oil tank with light alloy machined fins, the belly pan, the CR&S light alloy machined from solid wheels, the SBK break disks, the different seat covers, the aluminum filler cap’s cover, different chassis finishes, different graphics and body finishes, and the powertrain finishes.

Several configuration possibilities are available concerning the look, from each component’s color, to the chassis and the wheels finishes. The powertrain’s color can even be chosen. A customized engraved silver plate gives the final touch.

We told KTM when we rode the 1198 RC8 R that it was the perfect bike for the track. Agile steering, gobs of v-twin power, sure-footed suspension…there really wasn’t anything more we could ask from the Austrian manufacturer (except maybe a price reduction and a free puppy with every purchase). Someone at KTM must have agreed with our sentiments, because the Ready to Race firm has taken that mantra to the next level with the 2011 KTM 1198 RC8 R Track, it’s ready to race incarnation of the KTM 1198 RC8 R.

We leaked photos of the bike earlier this weekend, but now we have the juicy hi-res goodness that you’ve been waiting for. FIM Superstock legal, the 2011 KTM 1198 RC8 R Track makes 180hp with the included Akrapovic EVO exhaust system (up 13hp from the road-legal 1198 RC8 R). The 1198 RC8 R Track also includes a new air filter, a thinner head gasket, and a revised engine map for race use, which help make additional power for race usage.

2011 Triumph will be powered by a stroked out version of the Triumph Daytona 675. The 800 cc engine will deliver a few lees horse power than in the Dayton model (where it delivers 124bhp and 53lb/ft). SO, with a total weight of 440lbs and a power of aprox. 110 HP, the Triumph 800 will be lighter and a little more powerful than the BMW F800GS.

Triuph has unveiled the first details on the 2011 Tiger 800, offered in both road and off-rod versions, last one called XC. The last one will be distinguished by specia tires, 21-inch front wheel and extended front mudguard. The standard version will be offered with 19-inch front wheel and non-tubed tires.

The new Trimph Tiger 800 and 800XC made their world debut in Italy at the EICMA Show. BMW Motorrad has just revealed the new G 650 GS, a new single-cylinder enduro that adds a cheeky, light, and adventurous figure. The G650 GS is powered by a 652 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a double overhead camshafts engine that develops 48 HP at 6500 rpm and 60 Nm at 5000 rpm. BMW is also offering a detuned version that develops only 34 HP at 6500 rpm and 47 Nm at 4500 rpm.

The body of the new G 650 GS was completely redesigned. The front section, in particular, makes the single-cylinder enduro light, sporty, and dynamic. The asymmetrical headlamp and the self steering front wheel cover give the G 650 GS its look of absolute independence.

A clear design of lines, the targeted use of colored areas and all black plastic parts uphold the visual impression of a robust enduro outfit. The overall impression of sportiness is boosted further by the engine, exhaust covers, frame, swinging arm, and slide tubes, which are all black, contrasting with the plain colors of aura white and orange-red as well as the matching two-tone seats.

The new G 650 GS has opted for a technology on a widely used basis: the popular and successful BMW F 650 GS with single-cylinder drive of many years’ standing. After months of speculation and spy photography the long wait is almost over, the Diavel will make its first public appearance at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan 2-7 November.

Officially announcing the new model’s name ahead of the official presentation, the famous Italian manufacturer is about to turn another dream into reality, using the local Bolognese dialect word for “devil” in naming their new model Diavel – pronounced Dee-ah-vel.

The idea for the name was born early in the development process of the bike, when the prototype was assembled and wheeled out in front of a group of Ducati engineers and technicians for the first time. One person looking from the rear of the bike saw its silhouette and exclaimed in Bolognese dialect: “Ignurànt comm’ al diavel!” Meaning: “Evil, like the devil!”

This ‘R1232’ is a very unusual custom built by a team led by Jean-Luc Dupont of the French BMW dealer Panda Moto 89. Jean-Luc is based in Villeneuve-Sur-Yonne, south east of Paris, and he’s known for creating BMW customs based on current production models.Most motorcycle marques can point to a single early model that set the tone for those that followed and established the brand. In BMW’s case it’s the R32. It was unveiled at the Berlin motor show in 1923, and it was a good fifty years later before BMW Motorrad shook off the R32′s iconic black-paint-and-pinstripes look.

According to the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America website, ‘Jean-Luc had the idea of creating a modern interpretation of the R32 using current technology. This would be a complete motorcycle design and production exercise, and would require everything to be fabricated … “Harley-Davidson has built its reputation on having their motorcycles as a modern interpretation of the past. I wanted to do the same for BMW, and where better to start than BMW’s first motorcycle, the R32?” said Jean-Luc.’

It’s interesting to compare the specifications of the original R32 with Jean-Luc’s creation. The 1923 bike had 8.5hp and weighed 122kg. The R1232 has 107 horses and weighs 235kg (520 lbs), which is reasonable by today’s standards. So the power-to-weight ratio has increased by more than six-fold. (The six-speed gearbox will ease progress even further.) If there’s a question mark, it’ll be over the braking system and the 2.5” wide tires, which roll on 21” rims at the front and 19” at the back. But then again, you can’t have everything. The R1232 took US$95,000, 16 months and over 600 hours of work to create.

Motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki revealed today its latest addition to its super naked line, a middleweight streetfighter badged Z750R. With a sportier look than the current Z750 model, the ‘R’ version comes with new brakes and exhaust system, though the engine remains unchanged.

The bike comes with new improved chasis with fully adjustable front forks, revised rear shock on a new aluminium swing arm, radial front brakes with braded lines and ABS as an option.

Some styling tweeks have been made, such as the nose cone, indicators and footpegs. Limited edition colours and revised clocks are also featured. Handlebar ends and ergonomics have also been revised.

“The Z750R is an impressive package. It has been designed to take the handling, braking and overall specification of the hugely popular Z750 to a totally new level, justifying the exclusive R status of our new mid-weight naked contender for the coming year,” Kawasaki says.

Reliable source close to Suzuki have leaked an artist rendering of what the rumoured all-new 2011 GSX-R 600 and possibly the GSX-R 750 might look like. The Japanese company didn’t confirm when the new GSX-R will be available. The current GSX-R 600/750 was last updated in 2008 so it’s no surprise that the two models will get only minor updates. The biggest changes are the four new air intakes stacked to the sides of the slimmer headlamp. Mechanically, we expect a small weight reduction and an equally small increase of power. We’ll have the full details on the new models from Intermot ‘10 in Germany.

For the time being, the company has released just one teaser photo showing the 2011 600/750 identical twins, previewing what looks to be a 2009 GSX-R1000. No surprise here, as the same designer, Shigeru Uchiyama, was responsible for both versions.

There are only minor changes prepared for 2011, mostly to the visual aspect of the bikes, but a small weight reduction and power increase are also expected. Four new air intakes are placed on the side of a redesigned, slimmer headlamp that now uses a pile of high and low beams.

These slight changes will require only minor investments for Suzuki, but it will also offer a somewhat fresh perspective to the gixxer line. Consumers will get to see for themselves the 2011 Suzuki GXR-600 and 2011 Suzuki GSX-R750 models at the Intermot Cologne bike show on October 5.

Moto Guzzi V7 Cafe Racer Limited Edition

Along with the 2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200, Piaggio Group unveiled another bike, the 2011 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer. The model pays homage to the classic V7 Sport race bike of the ’70s. The V7 Clubman Racer was initially announced at EICMA show as a 2010 production model but Moto Guzzi’s parent company later said it was a mistake. Well, there’s no mistake this time, the bike enters production as a limited edition model.

The production version looks the same as last year’s concept, it appears to only change its name. The motorcycle features a leather strapped chrome tank created using what Moto Guzzi calls an innovative metal particle deposition technology. The red frame was inspired by the earlier V7 Classic models, and is paired with the matching red hubs and swingarm. Technically, the V7 Racer is similar to the V7 Cafe. At the heart of the machine is a 744cc 90-degree V-Twin engine which delivers a slightly disappointing 49hp at 6800 rpm and 40 ft-lb of torque at 3600. Suspension is provided by a 40mm Marzocchi front fork and fully adjustable Bitubo rear shocks. The braking system comes from Brembo, which uses a 320mm disc at the front and a 260mm disc at the back.

Next year Yamaha’s cruiser motorcycle subsidiary, Star Motorcycles, will be introducing an all-new addition to its line-up with the 2011 Star Stryker. The Stryker is a synergy of raked-out, custom-inspired styling and modern performance at an attractive price that starts at $10,990.

Powering this machine is a liquid-cooled 80 cubic-inch (1304cc) V-Twin engine. The engine sports 100 x 83mm bore/stroke measurements. Each piston compresses fuel to a relatively high 9.5:1 ratio and both cylinders wear a four-valve cylinder head operated via a solo overhead camshaft.

Fuel is pumped into the engine through an electronic fuel-injection system with twin 40mm throttle bodies and 12-hole fuel injectors. To enhance rider comfort the engine employs twin counter balancers. Power is routed to the rear tire via a belt final drive.In terms of aesthetics the bikes features a long and low stance and looks different from any other production cruiser on the market. The engine cases are blacked-out as is the radiator and shotgun-style exhaust pipes. Furthermore each cylinder features authentic looking air fins that give it the appearance of a classic air-cooled bike. Other complementary touches are the steel fenders and Star’s extensive accessories which allow you to customize the bike’s appearance.

The engine is hung within a black steel frame and is a stressed member meaning it works in unison with the chassis to enhance handling. A 6-degree steering yoke helps kick out the fork to an angle of 40-degrees. Suspension is comprised of a 41mm fork and a linked monocross shock absorber. In spite of its aggressive fork rake angle, the Stryker maintains a 45/55 percent front-to-rear weight distribution which is a key Star Motorcycles handling characteristic.

The Stryker rolls on a 21-inch front hoop and an 18-inch rear wheel. Both wheels are manufactured from cast aluminum and feature a five-spoke design. The front rim is shod with a 120/70 tire while a larger 210/40 rubber is used out back.

Equally as big are the brakes with a 320mm diameter brake disc up front and a 310mm disc in the back. In spite of its big wheel and tire sizes the Stryker features a super low 26.4-inch seat height which should make it much friendlier for all rider’s. The Stryker comes in three colors: Reddish Copper, Impact Blue and Raven and will be available sometime in September.
