In knowing that it is time for more detail, I’ve been working on my elevator pitches; the one liners that sum up the goals of the new site in a few short words. Take a look:

Motoring Blogs is…

• A network of enthusiast driven blogs on various automotive and motorcycle topics. – In general this is accurate, but so what. Why would anyone want to be a part of the network?
• A network of enthusiast blogs working together to make their mark in the automotive blogging arena. – This gives a sense of the community I’d like to build. But it needs more proof.
• A service that enables enthusiasts to easily share their knowledge and passion. MotoringBlogs does everything but the writing, enabling the enthusiast to focus on great content that can’t be found anywhere else. And we provide the tools and advice to help a beginner or intermediate blogger reach their best potential and success in the blogosphere. – Hmmm, good description but a bit too long and not enough emphasis on the community working together either.
• A blogging service that strives to provide motoring enthusiasts a platform and community environment that is focused on working together to build knowledge and access. – I’m liking the sound of this.

Yep, that last bullet is the selling statement. I want to provide all the technical resources and know how I possess to MotoringBlog members so they can focus solely on the challenge of transforming knowledge and experience into authoritative content on the web. And if we work together as a community, maybe the best of us can advance beyond enthusiasts and find new pathways and careers to follow as a result of our network.

MotoringBlogs is in it’s infancy, but the plan is to form a network of enthusiast written blogs covering automotive, motorcycling, and racing themed topics.  Our network will feature the following:

• A collection of enthusiasts, owners, artists, experts, and readers, all working together to enjoy our sport, hobby, and business.
• The use of individual blogs connected through a central hub provides the potential for greater detail and focus that the dedicated enthusiast reader will appreciate, while enabling visitors to learn of related material on other network blogs.
• Working together to build a strong and cohesive knowledge base that will earn respect based on the content’s honesty, integrity, and expertise.

The initial launch of the network includes the recently formed blogs GermanCarsForSaleBlog and RareSportBikesForSale.  These two blogs are the result of the breakup of my old blog, TjRubley.com, which primarily featured modern-classic sports car and sportbike classifieds. This site will remain intact for the time being and be referenced as an archive.
