The statements reads:
“Candidates are expected to have a valid email address. This will be used to create individual profiles on the portal. Emails are free to get, so if you don’t have one, you can create a free email at gmail.”

JAMB 2017 Examination Holds By May

The report reaching us has it that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has given a hint as to when the UTME 2017 will be conducted.

According to the board’s official twitter, the post says “the 2017 UTME will hold by May, 2017“. But this has some how relieved some of the stresses some students who are to take part in the examination.

From the report, the date has not been fixed yet, but the board has made it clear that it will be disclosed in no distant time.

The body JAMB has therefore advised candidates against falling victims to fraudsters and advised them to only rely on the official information from the board. This has somehow given the candidates hope that they will still write the examination.

So what are you waiting for? This is now the time to sit up and get every necessary materials needed before time.

This is to bring to notice of all 2017 May/June Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) candidates of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) that the time table for the examination has been released.

Important Notes:

1. Difference in Time on Question Paper and Timetable:Where the duration
indicated on the question paper differs from that on the timetable, the one
on the question paper should be followed.
2. Question Papers to be Given Out in Advance of the Dates They Are to be
Taken:

(i) Visual Art 3;

Paper 3A– Instructions will be given to schools two weeks before the paper
is due to be taken.Paper 3B– Question paper sill be given to candidates two weeks before it is
due to be taken.Paper 3C– Candidates will be required to execute their projects within six
months of the examination year. The period of submission of art pieces will
be communicated to schools by the Council.

(ii) General Knowledge-In-Art Paper 3; The question paper for General
Knowledge-In-Art 3 will be given to candidates two weeks before the paper is due
to be taken.(iii) Block Laying, Bricklaying and Concrete Works 3 (Practical); Question paper
will be given to candidates three days before the paper is due to be taken.(iv) Project Work Papers; The question papers for project work for Basketry,
Graphic Design, Leatherwork, Ceramics, Sculpture, Picture Making, Textiles,
Jewellery, Painting & Decoration, Dyeing & Bleaching and Leather Goods
Manufacturing & Repair will be forwarded to candidates two weeks in advance of
the examination. The exact date for the delivery of question papers to candidates
will be communicated to them through their schools.

3. Extra Time for Blind, Deaf and Dumb Candidates:Blind, deaf and dumb

We understand that some schools are yet to officially released the names of admitted students for the 2016/2017 academic session.
In meeting up with the November 30th deadline earlier giving by JAMB for all admission process to be concluded, many school have already sent the names of candidates considered for admission to JAMB for confirmation and approval which JAMB is expected to upload on its portal.

Observation shows that JAMB has uploaded the list of students admitted into schools like OAU, FUNAAB, KSU etc despite the fact that these schools are yet to officially announce their admission lists for 2016/2017.
This implies that even if your school of choice has not officially announced any admission list for 2016/2017 academic session, you can actually confirm your admission status on JAMB website.
I understand that some candidates are skeptical as to the authenticity of the admission giving by JAMB. For the records, if your admission status on JAMB website reads "ADMITTED", it is only because you have been offered provisional admission into the school indicated by JAMB even though the school is yet to officially announce its list of admitted students.

Over 300 scholarships are awarded each year. If you are a high-achieving student and you are completing Year 12 in 2016 (or you completed in 2015 and you’re on a gap year) then you are encouraged to apply.

A minimum of $100,000 in scholarship funding will also be reserved for applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage in ( Financial hardship or Geographic isolation).

Three scholarships are available:

- UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships - $12,000/year
- UQ Excellence Scholarships - $6,000 per year

REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for admission to a Postgraduate programme of the University, the candidate must possess five O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other three relevant subjects at not more than two sittings.

A. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD)

To be eligible for admission to the PGD programme, candidates must be holders of pass or third Class Honours first degree in a relevant discipline from any University or holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) at minimum of Upper Credit level in a relevant discipline.
For unclassified HND certificates, a CGPA of 3.50 (5-point scale) and 3.00(4-point scale) or 60% shall be taken as equivalent to Upper Credit.

B. MASTERS DEGREE (M.Sc.)

To be eligible for admission to the Master’s degree programme, candidates must.

i. Be graduates of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike or any other recognized Universities by Senate and shall have obtained a first degree with at least Second Class Honours.
ii. Possess a first degree with Third Class Honours from a recognized University and at least an Upper Credit at Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field, or
iii. Possess the Higher National Diploma (HND), with at least Upper Credit and Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized institution, or
iv. Any other certificate or qualification that may be acceptable to Senate.
C. DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY DEGREE (Ph.D).
To be eligible for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy degree programme, a candidate shall have obtained a Master’s Degree which includes course work and research from this or its equivalent from any other University recognized by Senate in relevant disciplines, with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.5 (5- point scale) or 3.00 (4- point scale).
