Why I want to farm these?

These green items are often better than epic quality gear, that were available on end of WoTKL, and you can wear them before you are level 80!

This means that you can wear these awesome pieces of armor and PWN your way in BG’s and do questing super fast.

So basically, if you have gold and there is these BoE greens at AH, you can buy some ‘boost’ to your leveling speed.

My farming journey

Farming greenies is pretty simple, just kill mobs and hope that they do drop some lewt loot.

On my 1 hour farming session, I choosed to farm at Mount Hyjal, because there is mobs, that are more likely to drop cataclysm items which requires levels 78-79 to wear them. (Below is a image of my 2 favorite farming spots)

I also grabbed one Potion of Treasure Finding to boost my loot gains. Potion gives you buff which allows you to loot  Tiny Treasure Chest from mobs sometimes, this chest can contain Gold,Volatile stuff, BoEs, Ore and other stuff.

Is it worth it?

After killing and looting tons of mobs the  Treasure potion finally run off. In one hour I managed to loot

That is pretty good result, one hour and 23 boe greens + I was lucky enough to loot that Design too.

My plan is to sell Non-weapons for 280g and weapons about for 340g. 48h listing (Post and forget). I have sold many boes in past weeks, so these should go with these prices on my server.

1. I like to gather like amounts of gold and just bank them
2. Blizzard doesn’t need to use program skills to me
3. I PAY 13€/month to be a gold sink
4. No need to to design new gold sink because I will anyway obtain more gold.
5. Because I like to bank my gold, it wont move to other players.
6. I can use cola as gold making fuel.

Let’s hope that 4.3 will hit on live servers  soon .

How to find suppliers

I have used two different methods to find, first one didn’t really work, but when I tried other one I got instantly few suppliers.

Shouting in Trade

My first strategy was barking on trade chat. I usually shouted something like

“Looking for people who can farm me some Obsidium/Elementium Ore everyday, paying xxg/stack. /w me if interested.”

Well, it didn’t work so well. I got few whispers but they usually then changed their mind when other player show my shouting and then shouted that he will pay xx g more.

Good thing in trying to get suppliers on trade chat is that many people will read your request, but on downside your competitors see them too. I decided to change more private style strategy.

Mailing to Top Auction Posters

This is pretty easy strategy, just look some names of posters of that item you would like to get supplier to, then just mail them, if they would like to send items always directly to you. I usually offer them little carrot, like 1000g bonus every 200stacks they send or something like similar. My mail usually looks this:

“Greetings “player”,
I have noticed that you post pretty much of x item to Auction House. I would like to know if you want to send them to mr with C.O.D in future. I’ll buy everything that you ever send. I can pay xx g/stack and give 1000g bonus per xx stacks as carrot.

~ Leez”

Now some players won’t answer because they are bots or just don’t want to send them in mail. But this way I have got more contacts to suppliers than just shouting in trade.

Auctioneer/Auctionator

These addons changes look of your Auction House interface and adds new features to it, like scanning the whole auction house and shows if item priced higher than normally.

I personally use Auctioneer for posting and searching items and Auctionator if I need to buy many stacks.

OreCrusher

This is great tool to anyone who prospects. You can input how many stacks you are buying ore and price per stack, and then OreCrusher will tell you estimated gains of prospecting. It will also tell how much gold you would gain if you craft greenies and disenchant them or how much you would gain if you transmute them.

TradeSkillMaster

Must to have addon for every auction masters. This addon will save you lots of time. It’s module based addon, so there is many features example.

• Automates your posting and cancel process (Checks prices and undercuts that amount you have set, checks if you have been undercut)
• Auto Mail items to alt
• Crafting queues (Hard to keep track what glyphs you have at AH? This will remember what glyphs you don’t have in bags or auction house and will place that item to crafting queue)
• And much more

Postal

One by one clicking through you mailbox can be painfully, but Postal will do that for you. It will open your mails and collect items/gold from them and at the end it will tell you how much gold was looted.

MySales

Ever wanted too see statics of your sales, well.. MySales can track you sells. For example, it can show how much someone has spent to your auctions, how many Inferno Rubies you have sold and much gold you gained for them. How much you have sold in 8 hours and much more nice data.

Today 29.9.2011 I reached my 500,000 gold mark. This means that I need to gather other half million and then I’m finally gold capped! (Well 1 lucky character will be.)

I reached 400k 29.10 so it took me nine days to get to 500k. I’m surprised that I gathered 100k this fast, because after I hit 400k I bought tons of herbs and ores everyday.

What I have been selling

Nothing different than usual, my main top income source is now Jewelcrafting, on server reset days I sell tons of gems and enchants. Last day I managed to pull 36k from AH just with enchants (mats/scrolls) and gems.

On glyph markets I have been having some fun, keeping glyphs under 30g is pretty fun, but I think that I will please my competitors and post glyphs at ‘normal price’ again.

What in future?

Aiming for 1 Million is still main focus of course . But I have now spent some time to level new alts. My shaman is level 73, mage 69 and hunter 64. Everyone gonna be Alchemists with Transmute mastery (thinking to make one potion master, but not sure) and few more jewelcrafters.

Now I must watch some news about epic gems and other changes, because they may have some impact to my markets. Also I need to sharpen my strategies and build some stockpile for patch 4.3. This new patch will bring many challenges for all of us.

It seems that epic gems will drop as raw, but who cuts them? a NPCs maybe or hopefully (in goblin way) Jewelcrafters.

Checked icon names from wowhead and red gem is named as inv_misc_epicgem_uncut_01. Didn’t find icon for geode, closest one was one orange thingy, but it was “Demonsoul”

Bah, why I went to sleep. It seems that wowhead has datemined some JC patterns and Alchemy transmutes for these epic gems.

Breaking Down The Datamined Epic Gem Information – Power Word Gold

Yesterday I ran Molten Core just for fun (And boosted my level 55 friend). Run went smoothly and after killing a Molten Destroyer, a item called Blood of the Mountain dropped. At first I thought “Aww, another 2g item to sold”, but then friend of mine told that this item is very expensive at Auction House, about 760-1300g.

When we get back to Orgrimmar, I checked the Auction House and he was right, Blood of the Mountain was selling 760g 22s 28c, so I posted mine and undercutted 1 copper. In few hours that was sold!

Why Does People Buy These?

Blood of the Mountain is required to craft Sulfuron Hammer, it also gives reputation to Brotherhood faction. It’s also used for some other craftables, but main reasons why people are buying these is 1) Getting legendary 2) Grinding Reputation.

How to farm them?

Blood of the Mountain is pretty rare item, it can be looted from Molten Destroyer or by mining Dark Iron Deposit.

Best way to farm these is to just kill Molten Destroyers and mine Dark Iron Deposits that you see on you way and then just run outside and reset instance. You can’t reset instance if you have killed some of the bosses.

You can also park one of your characters outside of instance when you have done one full clear, because mobs will respawn in 30 minutes, even if bosses has been killed.

Not the easiest  item to farm, but I’m little goofy anyway

There certainly are quite a few new profession recipes. We also introduce the epic gems in this patch, and they’ll be available only through the normal and heroic difficulty of the Deathwing raids.“

Panic at the Auction House

Many players who has stocked lot’s of pyrite ore has now nice amounts of “useless” pyrite ore. Some of them will just post them to Auction House with ridiculous low prices (Actually I’m seeing some panic on my own server atm, but not huge drop on prices.)

What to do with all this ore?

I didn’t stock any ore, but I can try to share some tips what you can do with you ore.

1. Sell them at Auction House, maybe not the best idea.
2. Craft some Ebonsteel Belt Buckles, they require pyrite bars
3. Start crafting Truegolds, there might be some new recipes in 4.3.
4. Prospect and shuffle.

Only from raids?

Well, even that we have official word that they are obtainable only from Deathwing raid, it may still change, maybe. But let’s not build hopes too high.

Since there isn’t any breaking news I’ll give some good advises and tips about gold making.

Show me the money

• Listen Trade Chat, it may give you some ideas what you can sell about no competition. Ex. If someone is shouting that he needs Adamantite Rod and there is none at Auction House, you can craft few of those and monitor that market if it is profitable and low competition
• I read great comment from some blog (If someone remembers where and who said that, tell me : p). I don’t remember how it exactly went but somehow like this “Never underestimate what amount gold  ’stupid player’  has.” I don’t really want call people stupid, but someones are really lazy and may purchase some items with really high price.
• Little chit chat can bring some customers back to you. Usually when I sell fortune cards, I wish good luck for them and congratulate if they wins and try to chat random thinks with them. Now some people sometimes will whisper me, if I have x item for sale.
• Know when it’s good time to post items. Like on server reset days you will see peak on enchant and gem markets. At weekends leveling gear will sell better.
• Taking some breaks is acceptable, don’t burnout yourself!
• Try to find new markets, The Undermine Journal is a great tool to check your servers prices and maybe can help to find some niches.
• Post high competition items with 12 hour list time.
