I contend that the Asian markets have led the US markets for the past year and will continue to do so. Their 15-17% correction since the first week of August will usher in an inevitable significant correction in the US markets in the near future. I believe a lot of this is attributable to higher gas prices despite increases in equities and continued massive layoffs.  Regardless of a month over month stable unemployment rate the sheer volume of unemployed people grows unabated.  FASB is starting to talk mark to market again and finally stocks have week of breather as the equities decreased week over week for the first time in about a month.  When will the big drop come?  Late August?  Late Fall?
