Beach finds

noreply@blogger.com (C) — Sat, 23 May 2009 01:41:00 +0000

Had a very rough day yesterday and just did not want to go home, so I found myself at the beach. I must have missed the memo announcing it was party day at the beach for insects.

The place in Traverse City where we stayed.

A swan running across the lake.

Same swan swimming.

About a million of these little shells all along the beach.

Thank You State of Michigan

My oldest would like to thank the State of Michigan

for the cause to purchase a new tire.

This is what happens when you hit a deep enough pothole.
Thanks for taking good care of our roads!!

SAAAALLUTE!

Sleeping Bear Dunes

noreply@blogger.com (C) — Thu, 23 Apr 2009 18:57:00 +0000

The other week we got to take off to Traverse City. Since I am from there I love to go back and visit my old house, school and such. Since we were up that way, we took off one day and went to Sleeping Bear Dunes. It runs along the shore of Lake Michigan. We went to the dune climb part and let me tell you, I am OUT OF SHAPE!!!!

This is on top of the dunes. You can see Glen Lake on this side of the dunes.

You can walk for about a mile and get to the beach at Lake Michigan.

We didn't follow the trail and we walked MUCH more than the mile!

Another view of Glen Lake. The white at the back of the lake is ice.
Another site that tells part of the Indian story of Sleeping Bear Dunes

This church was on top of a hill that overlooked the town of Saugatuck.
I loved the shadow the tree cast on the back of the church.

Finally warm weather

Crazy

noreply@blogger.com (C) — Sun, 08 Feb 2009 00:53:00 +0000

If you look closely there is a man in there ice fishing.

Its crazy enough when it is freezing cold.

But when it warms up and things melt...that's just asking for it.
