The Losers (2010)

As comic-turned movies usually go, this was one that is unlike any other. From Sylvain White, director of Stomp The Yard, this movie brings an edge to comic-book movies. This is a surprise mix of action, comedy, and just a tad bit of drama. The Losers is a substantial Saturday-night's entertainment.

The Losers starts with an attack by a CIA team (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, and Oscar Jaenada), which was a pretty predictable way for the movie to start. The team soon realizes after the compound is demolished, that they had been set up by someone named Max. Since they have no passports, they are bound in the country. Then Clay (Morgan) meets Aisha (Saldana) in a bar, she informs him that she can get them back to the States and help them catch Max. They agree, and the story begins.

For the next hour, the silly quips by technical analyst Jensen (Evans) is the only break in between the mediocre action scenes and the dull dialogue. The action and fight scenes are something that this type of audience has seen many times--making those scenes just average. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's portrayal of Clay is good, but a bigger star attached would have gotten a wider audience. Warner Brothers decided to provide a new side of Zoe Saldana--a badass one used for the same purposes as Megan Fox's character in Transformers. The set is nothing spectacular either, I noticed that I've seen the same locations used in up to as many as 3 previous movies. However, The twist halfway through movie renders more thought out of the audience, in the end just confusing them.

The A-Team (2010)

The A-Team (2010) Movie Trailer 2 has premiered. There are so many ridiculous aspects to this trailer and to the movie that it seems more like a video game than a military action film. I recently watched the first Rambo and was amazed at how well that film plays. The cinematography and the soundtrack have not lost their potency but also there is no CGI BS like there is in The A-Team (2010) Movie Trailer 2. Its like at the end of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn with that giant escape scenario where something more straight forward would have done the job more efficiently. It’s too bad this film couldn’t have been made straightforward, with no green screens, like Rambo.

Clash of the Titans 2010

The film begins with a narration describing how the Olympians managed to overthrow their own creators, the Titans, through the aid of the Kraken, Hades's creation. After their fierce struggle, Zeus (Liam Neeson) became the King of Gods, his brother Poseidon (Danny Huston) the Lord of the Seas, and their brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) tricked by Zeus to rule the Underworld in misery.

A coffin is then seen drifting through the sea before it is rescued by a fisherman, Spyros (Pete Postlethwaite). When Spyros opens it, he discovers the baby Perseus and his mother inside and raises the boy as his own. Perseus does not know who his real father and mother are, and worries that he will be neglected when his adoptive parents have a child of their own, but Spyros reassures him of his love. Years later, Perseus (Sam Worthington) and his family are fishing when they witness a group of soldiers from Argos destroying a massive statue of Zeus, effectively declaring war on the gods. Immediately following the fall of the statue, Hades rises from the ocean, killing most of the soldiers and then destroying the boat Perseus and his family are on. Perseus attempts to save his family from the sinking boat, but is unable to, and passes out on driftwood from the wreckage. The surviving soldiers find him and take him back to Argos.

In the final scene, Perseus stands at the broken statue of Zeus at the beginning. Zeus appears and offers Perseus to become a God on Olympus, but he refuses. Zeus notes that Hades will return one day for revenge when mankind is in fear. Io appears before Perseus, and the two begin to embrace while Pegasus flies above them.

How To Train Your Dragon (2010)

It's taken a quarter of a year for 2010 to produce an SF&F movie that I can honestly recommend, but it is my pleasure to be able to do so for How To Train Your Dragon, an Imax 3-D offering from DreamWorks Animation. It's by the same creative team that did Lilo & Stitch, and the 1st sight of the eponymous dragon should give you a frisson of déjà vu if you saw that little delight back in 2002.

The story opens with a voice-over narration from a character we will soon meet, Hiccup (Jay Baruchel), son of Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, and that's pronounced "stoic", not "stoyk"), leader of a viking village that's beset with what Hiccup understatedly calls a pest problem. As he mentions this, 1 of the 2 sheep contentedly grazing before us suddenly gets snatched away by a barely seen dark shape from above. Yes, it turns out that the "pests" are dragons. The village has been there for 7 generations, but Hiccup notes that all the houses are brand new, and we shortly see why, as flaming dragon breath takes out several of them. Still, the tribe soldiers on. "We're vikings", Hiccup tells us. "We have stubbornness issues."

For some odd reason, all the kids speak colloquial English, but all the adults have a thick Scottish brogue — no hint of Scandinavia in any of it. Perhaps that's yet another wrinkle in the movie's offbeat sense of humor, which is never thigh-slappingly hilarious but produces plenty of smiles and grins.

This is anything but a "message" movie, but there are lessons to be learned from it. They're like the medicine hidden in the spoonful of sugar. You get better while feeling good about it. Yum!

From Paris with Love (2010)

Robin Hood (2010)

The sirit of his ex-girlfriend Sneha is the one responsible for all the deaths that start taking place and now Sonia takes on the mission to find out a way to stop this spirit who is hell bound to even out the score she had with people in her past life. Does Sonia succeeds..or Sneha’s spirit finds peace..that forms the main climax of this flim.

Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge (2010)

Aren’t we all tired of watching some serious movies with either terrorism or love story into it? After a hectic week all of us deserve to watch movies which are light hearted and bring a smile to our face. With the release of ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’ we have an Atithi (guest) with us which will make us laugh our heart out.

The story is about Puneet (Ajay Devgan) and his wife Munmun (Konkona Sen Sharma) who stay together with their kid in Mumbai. Suddenly, a distant uncle from a village comes to their home for a visit called Lambodar Chacha (Paresh Rawal). Initially, after the entry of Chacha they make small adjustments for their guest’s comfort. However, things turn the other way round when this Chacha decides to stick to this family for an indefinite period. On top of this, the ill-mannered Chachaji farts occasionally, which are also some comedy filled painful strike for the family. But, there are other major issues also that the family faces with Chachaji into their family like the couple had to compromise the comfort of their AC because Chachaji encroaches their bedroom. The couple completely loses their freedom at home. That is when the couple starts thinking ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’ meaning 'Oh Guest! When will u go?' The couple starts trying all tricks to throw the guest away from their home which makes the flick an outburst comedy. The character of the Chacha is very hilarious and the whole plot of making Chacha leave from their home is a clowning experience. It is a very simple movie with all the entertaining ingredients filled in it.

It is Sharad Joshi’s story, Tushar Hiranandani, Robin Bhatt and Ashwni Dhir are to be credited for the excellent screenplay. An appreciative cinematography has been presented by Aseem Bajaj. Good editing work is contributed by Dharmendra Sharma. Ashwni Dhir did an amazing work in this movie as a director.

Some funny twists worth mentioning in the movie are the entry of an underworld don (Akhilendra Mishra), a joke called human Hanuman and the parody of the songs ‘ Beedi Jalaile ’ and ‘ Na Jaane Tum Kab Aaoge ’ are very funny indeed.

The movie has a message to give to all its audience who reside in a busy society and the movie presents it with a light hearted attempt. At one point of the movie there is an outburst of emotion which is again twisted with the climax of the movie. The ending of the movie has an unexpected twist for its viewers.

Paresh Rawal is just too good in the movie. Konkona Sen’s acting is very natural and appreciative. Ajay Devgan is also worth watching. Satish Kaushik adds extra laugh to the movie with his comedy techniques and plays an important role in the climax of the movie. Viju Khote is just very amusing. Akhilendra Mishra and Mukesh Tiwari also give significant performances.

This flick is a must watch for all the people who want to relax and laugh with a packet of popcorn in their hands after a hectic week of hard work. It will surely give you a wonderful time and thus worth the money you pay for it!

Dead Man Running is a British movie released in UK in 2009.
It is directed and written by Alex De Rakoff.
There is this guy (Thigo) who is very disappointed with his clients as they are not good in making their payments.So he decides to take matters in his own hands and starts travelling to London to collect the money from the clients. Nick is one of his clients.He kidnaps Nick’s handicapped mom and gives him 24 hours to return the money back.

So it is the story of Nick, how he saves his mom and gives back the money to Thigo.
Characters:
1)Danny Dyer as Bing : Danny who acted in Adulthood, The business, The outlaw and Doghouse, he proved his talent again in Dead Man Running.
2)Tamer Hassan as Nick : Tamer did several Hollywood films .Dead Man Running is yet another edition to the league of successful movies he has done.
3)Curtis ‘50 cent’ Jackson as Mr Thigo : Jackson is better known by his stage name 50 Cent.He became famous internationally for his role in Get Rich or Die Tryin.
4)Brenda Blethyn as Mother : Brenda who acted in Saving Grace,Plots with a view,Clubland,Little voice and Pride and Prejudice .She played the role of Thigo’s mom in this movie.

“The Men Who Stare at Gots” is a 2009 comedy film directed by Grant Heslov. Its based on the book by the same title, authored by Jon Ronson, an account of the investigation by Ronson and John Sergeant into attempts by US military forces to use psychic powers.

Reporter Bob Wilton is in search of his next big story when he encounters Lyn Cassady, a shadowy figure who claims to be part of an experimental U.S. military unit. According to Cassady, the New Earth Army is changing the way wars are fought. A legion of “Warrior Monks” with unparalleled psychic powers can read the enemy’s thoughts, pass through solid walls, and even kill a goat simply by staring at it. Now, the program’s founder, Bill Django, has gone missing and Cassady’s mission is to find him. Intrigued by his new acquaintance’s far-fetched stories, Bob impulsively decides to tag along. When the pair tracks Django to a clandestine training camp run by renegade psychic Larry Hooper, the reporter is trapped in the middle of a grudge match between the forces of Django’s New Earth Army and Hooper’s personal militia of super soldiers. In order to survive this wild adventure, Bob will have to outwit an enemy he never thought possible.

Did You Hear About The Morgans? is a comedy film written and directed by Marc Lawrence. It is all about a successful Manhattan couple, real estate agent Meryl Judith Morgan (Sarah Jessica Parker) and lawyer Paul Michael Morgan (Hugh Grant) who had recently separated but are thrust together again when they witness a murder and become targets of a contract killer. They are forced to enter into temporary witness protection, given new identities, and relocated to a small Wyoming town, were they have to survive the weather, bears, fresh air, and forced time with one another if they want to make it out alive. Supporting roles are played by Sam Elliott, Mary Steenburgen, Elisabeth Moss, and Wilford Brimley.

Planet 51 (2009)

Planet 51 is the party pooper, looking to pass itself off as a spirited sci-fi romp crammed with slapstick and four-quadrant-friendly pop culture references to best wow the crowds. The picture is actually a poorly conceived comedy spotlighting a collection of anal-centric humor that’s about as appealing as baseball bat to the face. After watching a few creative minds take the animation genre to soaring heights, the dreadful routine and vulgar imagination of Planet 51 is all the more dispiritingly amplified.

Life on Planet 51 is good, with the populace enjoying a 1950’s standard of living, adorned with hovering extraterrestrial technology. For young Lem (voiced by Justin Long), the future is bright, having secured an ideal job at the local planetarium and learning the girl of his dreams (Jessica Biel) is into him.

However, everything changes when a NASA ship lands on the planet, carrying astronaut Chuck Baker (Dwayne Johnson) inside. Branded an alien intruder, Baker runs for his life, separating himself from his only ride back to Earth. As hysteria rolls through the town, encouraged by General Grawl (Gary Oldman), Lem finds himself face to face with Baker, believing the arrogant spaceman means no harm. With the assistance of his friends (including Seann William Scott) and mechanical pal Rover (think Wall-E), Lem attempts to elude capture as he helps Baker get back to Earth.
