Oscar awards 2019 | complete list of winners

2019-02-25T01:36:00.002-08:00

Oscars ceremony got off to a mildly awkward start this year, as Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler, presenting the Best Supporting Actress award, did a little comedy routine acknowledging that this year’s presentation had no host, no Most Popular Film award, and no awards given out during commercials. (“And Mexico is not paying for the wall.”) was a wary little dig at the many embarrassing controversies the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences faced this year as it attempted to retool the ceremony. Attempts to shorten the show by cutting some awards, while simultaneously adding more crowd-pleasing elements, led to a lot of online backlash.

Results spoke for themselves. Comparatively brief show that ran just over three hours (as opposed to the four-hours-plus shows that have become standard over the past few decades), the producers didn’t often linger over speeches from the presenters or winners. The show moved along briskly, with the early winners’ mics being rapidly cut off if they weren’t brief and to the point in their acknowledgment speeches. Even the more elaborate presenter setups — the visual gag involving Melissa McCarthy and Brian Tyree Henry, dressed in elaborate costumes referencing the Best Costuming nominees, and particularly the pet rabbits in The Favourite — went by quickly.

Ceremony did give a little more time to the winners of some of the bigger awards. It was a night of firsts: Spike Lee won his first non-honorary Oscar, for co-scripting BlacKkKlansman, and delivered a shaky, emotional speech that was one of the evening’s few nods toward current politics. Black Panther, which picked up three wins out of its seven nominations, became the first Marvel Studios movie to win an Academy Award.

Thanks to Black Panther, it was a significant night for black filmmakers. Black Panther production designer Hannah Beachler and costume designer Ruth E. Carter each became the first black women to win in their respective categories. (Beachler was the first black production designer to win, period.) Peter Ramsey, one of the co-directors of the Best Animated Feature winner Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, was the first black director to win in the category. Mahershala Ali, who won Best Supporting Actor for Green Book, became the first black actor to win in that category twice. (And only the fifth black actor to win in the category over the course of the Academy Awards’ 91-year history.)

While Netflix’s film Roma lost the Best Picture award to Green Book, in a surprise upset, it made history in other ways. It’s the first Mexican submission for Best Foreign Language Feature to win in the category. Best Cinematography win for director Alfonso Cuarón (who also took Best Director) marked the first time in history that a director simultaneously won the Oscar in the cinematography category.

Prison Break Premiere Recap of — Breaking Down 'Ogygia'

2017-04-05T05:15:00.003-07:00

August 2005 was a considerably less complex time: The principal iPhone was as yet two years from being discharged, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo was in theaters, and Prison Break appeared on Fox. After two jail get away, an Ocean's Eleven-style reset, four seasons, and a TV motion picture, the hit arrangement closed down in 2009.

Presently, with Fox restoring a hefty portion of its most prominent hits (please let Fastlane be next), Michael, Lincoln, Sara, T-Bag, Sucre, and C-Note are back. I recognize what you're considering: "Hold up, however didn't Michael pass on toward the finish of Prison Break?" And to that I say, "Quit overthinking things and let Wentworth Miller eat!"

The principal scene of season 5 digs directly into the secret of Michael's conceivable reemergence, considering the entire world trusts him to be dead. However eight years subsequent to seeing his loved ones remain over his gravestone, this new cycle starts with a Michael voice-over. "Flexibility has a value," he says. "In any case, the dead talk… in the event that you tune in."

The genuine start of this new experience begins where everything commenced — Fox River. It's the present day, and T-Bag is getting discharged, which is promptly suspicious since he's T-Bag what not. Before he leaves, he's given a bit of mail that abandons him in stun after opening it.

Any individual who thought Lincoln would capitalize on his opportunity is in for a severe shock, as our reintroduction to the previous passing line prisoner discovers him running from some shady characters whom he owes $100,000. While he figures out how to incidentally evade them, he arrives home to a much creepier character. We should simply say that Lincoln isn't precisely excited to see T-Bag, a trade that lone heightens when he uncovers the picture he got in mail. "In case you're playing me, I'll murder you," announces Lincoln after looking at a photograph of Michael. "It's incomprehensible." T-Bag tries to play the Riggs to Lincoln's Murtaugh, however without much of any result — Lincoln sends him away.

He might be suspicious of T-Bag's news, however that doesn't prevent Lincoln from traveling to see Sara. "I didn't think I was constantly going to see you once more," she says, expecting he wasn't excited with her choice to wed Jacob, who is excessively anxious to have a brew and make up for lost time with Lincoln. Get your own family! Add Sara to the rundown of individuals distrustful of this recently uncovered photograph, particularly with T-Bag being the source. "I know you need it to be valid," she says. "I need it to be valid." I wager I know who doesn't need it to be valid: Mr. We should Have a Beer.

T-Bag is out of jail and waiting to pounce. His first night as a liberated individual and he's searching for a decent edgy lady to have a decent time with. The look for the ideal woman is hindered by an update for a meeting with a prosthetic master. Befuddled and charmed, T-Bag goes to meet Dr. Whitcombe for his 9:30 p.m. arrangement. Odd planning, however in any event you figure less rivalry for those old duplicates of PEOPLE magazine! An obscure advocate has given the specialist cash to lead his examination, with the main stipulation being that T-Bag must be his first patient. Fundamentally, somebody is paying for T-Bag to get another robot hand. Initially, he escapes jail early, and now he gets another hand. Things simply keep coming up T-Bag.

Apparently influenced by Sara that Michael is dead, Lincoln takes a visit to his sibling's grave. "I have great in me; it would simply be pleasant in the event that you were here to help me discover it," he solemnly says. Prepared to surrender, he investigates the picture and is attracted to the message. He takes an eraser to the wording, with the rest of the letters spelling, "Ogygia." A snappy Google (or whatever fake site is remaining in) inquiry uncovers that Ogygia is a jail in Yemen. This rouses him to return around evening time and uncover the grave to check whether Michael is truly in there… and he's most certainly not! Rather, there's a void suit. After not finding any hints, Lincoln sticks to his sibling's coat.

With confirmation that Michael may in any case be alive, given the trick a chance to start. At a stoplight, Lincoln encounters an auto he had already accepted was tailing him. At the point when the light turns green, the suspicious man utilizes his PC to take control of Lincoln's auto, sending him wildly speeding through activity. In the long run, the vehicle goes off the street, sending Lincoln flying through his windshield and into the water. Lincoln Burrows has survived an execution, so a little pile up is nothing. He swims away unharmed and with his new prized ownership — Michael's jacket.

Promptly, Lincoln calls Sara, enlightening her regarding what has happened. She doesn't have much time to talk since the other individual who had been taking after Lincoln recently pulled up. As a furnished blonde lady goes into the house, Sara hollers for a frightened Jacob to get a firearm while she goes to ensure Michael Jr. Jacob is fundamentally forgotten to dry, getting shot in the leg. Perfectly fine blonde and Sara are set out toward a fight, the police shut in, compelling the interloper to rapidly exit. At that point Sara races to help Jacob, demonstrating why she was Fox River's top specialist until the entire "begin to look all starry eyed at a detainee and let him and his amigos evade" thing.

Lincoln races to the clinic to keep an eye on Sara and MJ, and I figure Jacob as well. With no father around and stepdad laid up, Lincoln sets aside the opportunity to give a gusto converse with his nephew. You need to think about whether wherever LJ is, he could utilize some paternal guidance too. At that point it's the ideal opportunity for an adult discussion — Sara is still legitimately questionable that Michael is alive, asking why he would forsake his family. "We should battle back," shouts Lincoln, prescribing they go to Yemen and get to the base of this. Sara fights that she can't desert her family, so Lincoln is resolved to discover somebody who could be useful.

He heads to a mosque in Buffalo, where he finds an old companion and Mike Jones' TV cousin — C-NOTE!! The previous warrior/Fox River prisoner has committed his life to Islam and battling against radicalism. When he hears the news about Michael, he answers, "I thought he was dead." Join the club, C-Note. The Fox River 8 alum is super useful, disclosing that Ogygia is a jail for the most noticeably bad of the most noticeably awful. When they call searching for Michael, there is no record of the name. Needing to send a photograph of Michael, they find him on the web, just to find each Michael Scofield picture is of another person. Lincoln is presently as decided as ever to go to Yemen. C-Note tries to induce him out of it, considering the nation is amidst a common war and how little they think regarding why Michael is there. "Michael has never been anybody's sucker," he says. "He's dependably been in charge… dependably."

Having come back to his lodging, Lincoln has recently gotten Michael's coat cleaned. I know it had a place with his sibling, however he's being excessively defensive of this thing. In the event that I crash my auto into a lake, I'm snatching my iPod in front of a coat that has been covered for a considerable length of time. As he's attempting it on, an interloper sneaks in, inciting Lincoln to thump him out. Uh gracious, it's Sucre! Poor Sucre, dependably on the wrong end of things. C-Note educated him regarding what's happening, and he needs to join Lincoln in Yemen. While Lincoln doesn't believe it's a smart thought, Sucre fights that he would be significant since he's been voyaging world on freight ships (something discloses to me that will become an integral factor in the end). C-Note appears at the air terminal to take Sucre's thunder and turn into Lincoln's voyaging accomplice. Likely a decent move considering C-Note's associations and learning of Arabic. As they set out toward the plane, the terrible folks from prior look on, glad to release them and face the perils of Yemen.

Lincoln keeps on racking up a heap of preferred customer credits, at long last touching down in Yemen as subjects do their best to get of the nation. We promptly consider why, to be blasts go off out of sight. They should meet C-Note's contact Sheba, however a man approaches saying she sent him. The issue is once they leave, their genuine driver appears. At the point when their fake driver hands over to a carport, C-Note knows they're being set-up. They escape auto and are encompassed by a gathering of men, driving the pair to fight out — Fox River style! "Welcome from the U.S. jail framework, bitches," hollers C-Note after they develop triumphant. At that point, a couple of minutes past the point of no return, Sheba appears to take them to security.

It doesn't take ache for the crowd to see the name Outis once more. As Lincoln proceeds with his fixation on Michael jacket's, he sees that the label peruses "Kaniel Outis." Meanwhile, Sheba has found a man who can get them into Ogygia, yet it will come at an expensive value — Lincoln's visa. Regardless of C-Note's supplications not to do it, Lincoln is somewhat all in now.

Touching base at Ogygia, C-Note isn't pumped to be back inside a jail, with Lincoln challenging, "the length of we leave it." The watch at front work area says there's no prisoner by the name of Michael Scofield. A despondent Lincoln doesn't comprehend what to do, when C-Note chooses to demonstrate the puzzling picture of Michael. "Kaniel Outis," reacts the protect, inciting Lincoln to bounce up. As the watch goes to get this detainee, Sheba storms out as C-Note discloses to Lincoln that Kaniel Outis is a fear based oppressor working with ISIL.

As Michael shows up, advancing through the jail, MJ is getting some information about his dad. "Michael Scofield resembled a tempest," she shares. "The question is whether they return, is it a similar tempest, or has something changed?" Then, Lincoln and Michael are at last eye to eye as C-Note stands adjacent recording. While Lincoln couldn't more delighted to see his sibling, who's brandishing some new ink, the man before him challenges that he isn't Michael. As he dismisses strolls, the agony is everywhere all over.

What did you think? Did this get you excited for more Prison Break? What is going on with Michael?

Aamir-Kat in Guru Dutt’s movie

2009-07-14T22:11:00.000-07:00

Older generation can look forward to refresh their memory. People will be now talking and comparing their cinema era with the contemporary ones. Thanks to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

This ‘Rang De Basanti’ director is said to be planning to bring a biographical movie on Guru Dutt. A remake of the original, ‘Kaagaz Ke Phool’, actors Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif are going to repeat the role of Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman. Both the actors have impressively made to look exactly like the yesteryear classic’s original couple and their photo has already become a cover-page of the popular magazine, ‘Cineblitz’. The biography was already attempted by Guru Dutt himself, but the movie turned out to be a flop. Written by Nasreen Munni Kabeer, the biography includes the life story of Guru Dutt.

This movie is expected to go on floors in October, let us hope the modern version and the modern couple hit the target.

MJ Introduces Hrithik to Western Dancing, Hrithik-Zayed as a Mythological hero

2009-07-14T21:32:00.000-07:00

This Greek faced hero floored the audience with his mind-blowing dance movements in his debut movie, ‘Kaho na Pyaar Hai’. Then after, he went on to give impressive twists and turns in most of his movies. Think Hrithik and people will imitate his ‘stop-stop’ dance steps of his song ‘Ek pal ka jeena’ from ‘Kaho na pyaar hai’.

Hrithik Roshan would be next seen as the mythological hero Ram in ‘The Legend of Rama’, but did you know that this green-eyed heartthrob used to imitate MJ in his childhood? Hrithik's sister, Sunaina revealed that the tall actor is an avid fan of the late King Of Pop. She said, “Duggu must’ve been eight or nine years old when he used to imitate Jackson’s moonwalk. MJ’s ‘Thriller’ was his favourite, the moment that song used to play on TV, Hrithik used to get up and dance. In fact, it was MJ’s music videos that introduced Duggu to western dancing. He did a Michael Jackson at every family function.”

Now, is that the secret behind his striking grooves?

Yes, it’s true! Hrithik Roshan and Zayed Khan are to be featured as the mythological characters in Sanjay Khan’s ‘The Legend of Rama’. This movie is going to be co-scripted by Zayed’s father and Hrithik’s father-in-law Sanjay Khan and Briton-based author Faroukh Dhondy. And any guess who will don the King Dashrath’s role? The Bollywood daddy, Amitabh Bachchan!
With the script in its final stages, Faroukh Dhondy feels that both Hrithik and Zayed are perfect for the role of Ram and Laxman respectively. He terms the movie as a modern format of Ramayan. “It's not a modern but a traditional adaptation but with the grammar of a modern films. This means it would be the Ramayan in The Lord of the Rings genre,” he adds.

Hmm, wonder how these stunning, handsome heroes will look with bows and arrows. Lets waits and watch..

MJ's FUNERAL AT STAPLES CENTRE

2009-07-05T11:51:00.000-07:00

DRUG SEDATIVE - NURSE QUOTE
Several narcotics found in late King of Pop Michael Jacksons rented home in Los Angeles included powerful sedative Propofol, also known as Diprivan, according to a law enforcement source. used as part of inducing general anaesthesia in the operating room, and for heavy sedation of patients who are intubated in the intensive care unit. Cherilyn Lee, a nurse who worked for Jackson, has revealed that the singer begged her for the drug. Nurse said that just 4 days before his death, a member of Jackson's staff called her, and that she could hear the singer in the background saying: "One side of my body is hot, it's hot, and one side of my body is cold. It's very cold." "He wasn't looking to get high or feel good and sedated from drugs. This was a person who was not on drugs. This was a person who was seeking help, desperately, to get some sleep, to get some rest," Fox News quoted. police investigate the possible involvement of prescription drugs in Jackson's death.

MJ'S FUNERAL
MJ’s former wife, Debbie Rowe says she is undecided over whether to fight for custody of their two children. Ms Rowe’s lawyer issued the statement after media reports that she had vowed to fight for custody of the two children she had with the late pop icon. At the time, MJ’s family has announced that a memorial service will be held next Tuesday in Los Angeles for the pop star. Some 11,000 free tickets will be made available for the event, which will be held in the city’s Staples Center Arena. Meanwhile footage of Jackson on stage two days before he died has been released. The film which was recorded on the 23rd of June shows him rehearsing a routine at the Staples Center for a series of UK comeback concerts which had been planned for this month.

Fans are asking me similar questions, but instead wondering whether Michael Jackson's funeral may be Muslim. In 2007, his brother Jermaine Jackson told the media that Michael had shown interest in the religion, and there was brief speculation that Jackson converted from Jehovah's Witness to Islam. Michael Jackson Funeral Set for July 7 at Staples Center The Michael Jackson funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. Somehow it seems appropriate. It will be a day for the Greatest Show on Earth to follow The Biggest Funeral in History. Jackson would love this, that’s for sure.

Earlier speculation had the funeral being held everywhere from Neverland to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. "The family and I are very proud to see all of you come out here and help us with this whole situation because we know that we do have fans all over the world and we know that we're loved all over the world”. "But one thing that I wish could have happened — I wish that Michael could be here to see all of this. (We) had to wait until something happened like this before it could be realized. Michael was a superstar ... he was loved all over the world."

Riteish Deshmukh to act in RGV’s 3-D Horror film titled WARNING

2009-06-10T10:16:00.001-07:00

After a long time people will wear red glasses! We've heard many times RG Varma being tagged as a 'mad' director more than a 'maverick' one. But his madness can reach such heights that he might just about warn you that something creepier, scarier and nastier is slowly going to engulf one and all. Urmila in Bhoot looked creepy, his crow in Phoonk looked scary and wait till you see Riteish Deshmukh look nasty in Ram Gopal Varma's first ever 3-D horror film titled WARNING. Doing by RGV's wacky sense of humour, he also stated that his underline concept of the film is going to be - Ram Gopal Varma's warning. He says, 'If you think you have experienced everything there is to experience in fear, just wait for Warning. It's a 3-D horror film with an extraordinary experience of an extremely heightened sense of realism because the viewer is no longer removed from the happenings on screen and would feel that he is up there along with the characters on the location and is in as much danger as they are." RGV adds, "The tag line of Warning is - You Might Die. It is also going to be a film with the first ever 4-D experience, the fourth dimension being 'Death'. So far, I have finalized Riteish Deshmukh as one of the cast."

The director needs to take care of two things before his warning fails to ignite the fear. Working with 3-D poses unusual challenges for the horror genre. First, the filming process requires a lot of light, which is not especially conducive to creating spooky basements and lurking shadows. Marketing is also a challenge. So far the 3-D films that have been released in theatres in India since its inception have all geared to peoples and families.

RGV is the mother of invention when it comes to experimenting with different subjects and genres, but if there was ever a moment when horror needed to be reinvented, this is it, because we aren't telling you....we're warning you! Wait and watch the magic of RGV’s WARNING with red glasses on the eye.

Makeover for Big B takes 5 hours!

2009-06-07T10:09:00.001-07:00

Amitabh Bachchan is one man who still continues to give the young heroes a run for their money! Paying no heed to the age factor, Big B has gulped all roles that has come his way and that too to perfection. Films like ‘Nishabd’, ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Black’ stand hits to his shoulder.

Big B has a number of films under his name which are under various levels of production, one film worth mention is director Balki’s project titled ‘Pa’. Though much of this film has been under tight wraps we have had instances of news leaking at some point or the other. We have all heard that ‘Pa’ sees Big B in a different makeover with professionals from London being called to work on him.

But people who have seen the look have been shocked. We have sources telling us that Big B will have a complete tonsured look, inclusive of his eye brows! Sources indicate that prosthetics had to be put in place for the right effect. The make-up for the look takes five hours to put on and once it is on big B cannot even drink water, say unit. Yet another shocking factor is that the film will see Big B as the mentally challenged son of junior Bachchan and Vidya Balan!

In this movie Big B has been pictured as a kid with a mental as well as an aging disorder where he will age very fast when compared to the rate at which normal children age. We just can’t wait to watch this film once it hits theatres. We are sure you are feeling the same to. Let’s wait a watch.
