FULL SYNOPSIS

Jake Gyllenhaal headlines this sci-fi time-travel thriller directed by Moon's Duncan Jones from a script by Ben Ripley and Billy Ray. A bomb explodes on a Chicago train, derailing the locomotive and killing hundreds. In an attempt to identify the bomber and prevent another, larger attack on downtown Chicago, Captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) agrees to take part in a clandestine government experiment dubbed "Source Code," which allows him to enter the body of a male passenger during the eight minutes before the man is killed. But during his first trip back, Capt. Stevens fails to gather enough clues to prevent the second attack. Plot:
James Cameron is the executive producer of Sanctum, a new 3D underwater thriller, but don’t be fooled into believing this will be another Avatar. The movie surrounds a team of divers as they explore the most beautiful underwater cave on Earth (actually cave system, the famous Esa-ala Caves). However when they least expected it, a tropical storm forced them going deep into the caverns where they must fight the water, the dangerous cave and themselves as panic makes you do stupid things.

Frank McGuire is a master diver and his team includes his own son, Frank, who’s only 17-year-old, so when they are forced to change plans and navigate underwater labyrinths Frank’s worry grows tremendously. Not only he’s responsible for his own life but his son’s too. Will they survive or die in the most inaccessible place on Earth?

Sanctum’s trailer is not very convincing, so even if James Cameron’s signature is on this movie I doubt it will be anywhere close to what Avatar was.

THE BUZZ: Audiences passed on The Dilemma and I have to say this premise is just as unappealing. I would like to say that this movie lives up to you're expectations if you are expecting the right things. This is an alien invasion movie so you must remember that throughout the movie. It is similar to Skyline but better and on that note Skyline was not a bad movie. When I go to see a movie like this I expect big booms and big aliens and that is what you get from this movie. I rate it an 8 out of 10 for alien invasion style movies. They all cant be Independence Day! The story line is a little tired but what else is there really to talk about in a story like this. From the military aspect of it they show some nice weaponry which is always a plus. The aliens are pretty well done too. The film is a little jerky but who wants to watch still frames the whole time, you may as well watch a slide show if thats what you want. Well done!
